The location was perfect as it was a beautiful day to sit by the water. They have live bands if you stay long enough however I would t recommend sitting upstairs unless you can handle loud music! I'm sad I can't remember the group that was performing as they were really nice. Our waitress was kind and attentive. The menu has some interesting choices on there, matches I would never put together. It actually may work for some others but I wasn't a fan. Chorizo in the mussels.....never! Who thought of that? Maybe that's a staple in that part of the state. The bathrooms were clean, the atmosphere was again really nice and mixed crowd. I wouldn't have my kids out there after dark though as it could be over stimulating for them. The drinks were pretty good. There was a slight discrepancy, but the manager handled it immediately so I was thankful. Yes I will return, the next time I can take more pictures. Somehow the ones I took disappeared..ughhhh!

Delicious and meaty crab cake for less than $20! That is the most amount of meat I've seen in a crab cake. The place is clean and has a beautiful view as well. High review is well deserved.

I didn't order any food but the grapefruit crush was fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful. The service was quick and friendly, with the sun shining on a beautiful Saturday, it was the perfect place to unwind. Sipping a great drink and taking in the views with my friend made it a standout stop during our visit to the Annapolis area.

Our food selections were 10 out of 10. Although items were fried it was not greasy. Coconut shrimp was very big pieces and the other food had generous portions. Service was good even with them being busy. We sat out back on long table they do not have wait staff come to the table you have to order drinks and food at the bar if that does not appeal to you there is several places to sit inside as well. The pineapple jalapeño 4/10 wasn't the best so we sent them back for the painkillers which was spot on. We enjoyed having shade and sun off and on with the covered area. The also had a live band which was good with good music. Will def be back.

Great spot to dine with kids! The food was good, even the kids ate all their meal from the kids menu and they are picky. They loved the butter noodles and soft pretzels. The wings were meaty. We sat at the picnic tables on the deck near the play area and parked our newborn stroller right next to us. Service was fast. The menu has lots of options. Overall a great experience. We will definitely return!

The Pier has a new name and is under new ownership & management. It is now Coconut Joe's (as it was a few years ago). We had lunch there today, and everything is GREATLY improved. We were totally impressed. We ordered the Deviled Eggs Chesapeake. They came out with a huge chunk of jumbo lump crabmeat on each egg. The cream of crab soup was excellent (the serving sizes are more like a bowl, not a cup, so the prices were very reasonable for the quantity served). We asked to sit in the back (inside upper deck), where the bartenders take care of you. Our server was Callie, and she was very pleasant. Lunch is a great time to go if you want to linger and chat while enjoying the food & the view.

I'm so shocked by the poor reviews! Came last saturday and it was exactly as expected. You obviously come here to enjoy the view with a good drink. There was a short wait, but we opted out to sit in the high top area in the back. It was very hot, and there were no fans, but that's why there was no wait. You can wait and get a fanned area. It was very crowded but we didn't wait too long for our drinks or food. The servers weren't overly helpful, but again, it was a busy Saturday in the back bar. The crowd ranged from teenagers to older folk, with the majority of people enjoying the bar. I was surprised at how good the food was! We ordered the crab dip, salmon BLT, and shrimp tacos. The salmon was so good and there were so many shrimp on the tacos! The whole facility had tons of cool areas, a children's sandy play area, another bar out back on the grass, and a sunset watching area with tons of Adirondack chairs. I truly feel like there's something for everyone.

I wanted to confirm that the crawfish was fresh and not frozen. I had noticed in some previous order that food didn't taste fresh. David kindly confirmed it was fresh and this was the prime time to enjoy. (David was helpful) I ordered the Fish basket that comes with fries and coleslaw. You have the option to select cat fish or rock fish (selected the rock). I also got Cajun boiled that comes with potato, shrimp, corn. I included three orders of the crawfish in the boil. The family was disappointed, many of the crawfish was NOT fresh and many of the tails were mushy. It's like it was frozen and overcooked to the point of texture was ruined. Out of all the crawfish three were fresh. Highly disappointed. The flavor We got was the shack medium spice but it was flavorless. The rockfish was extremely dry from the inside but crispy from the batter. The French fries had to be place in the air fryer and add our own seasoning. The coleslaw was the best out of everything. I would like to know what happen? I used to order from here all the time once it opened. The food was fresh and you could tell. Who ever made my food when I first review this spot. Please let me know because I need them back.

Unfortunately, he's the only fan. I feel sooo bad being so critical so I'll make it quick. The decor/ambience is so uncomfortably in need of renovation (the wood paneling, sectional seating, and carpet, for starters). They're known for their crab cakes which did NOT disappoint (according to those who ordered them) and TWO THUMBS UP on the salad bar ... which we ALL absolutely appreciated. However, the other food was mediocre and the attached pics prove the simple, low effort, dive-bar quality. It wasn't a total wash tho'! Their portions are respectable. The birthday boy LOVED the carrot cake buttt, the scallops, green beans, crab dip and fried chicken were declared unseasoned and the rockfish bites (strips) were salty. The Chardonnay had vinegar undertones. The Tito's shot was $20 but this is not the type of establishment which can justify charging that! I'm going to stop there because I totally respect their long-standing "pillar of the community, local landmark, generational longevity" claim to fame. PLEASE visit for yourself and share YOUR opinion. When you go ... tell them you saw it on Yelp.

This is the kind of meal your mom would cook for, like, a graduation dinner, or if she was trying to impress someone. I've never had a bad meal here, but the crab cakes are the best in Maryland. I know everyone thinks they know where the best crab cakes are, but they are wrong, because the Edgewater Restaurant has them - a softball of jumbo lump crab meat, perfectly broiled with very few added ingredients so the crab shines through. All of the meals come with 2 sides of your choice, including potatoes served at least 3 different ways and a salad bar that isn't even trying to be healthy. Alexander's once before, and it was good enough for me to come back--and it did not disappoint. For this area, the cost was surprisingly budget‑friendly, especially considering the quality. The town center around it has clearly changed, with several stores and restaurants closed and even the old adjacent parking lot gone. But once we walked inside, the experience was excellent. Our server was friendly, helpful, and honest with her recommendations. My daughter and I both ordered the Chicken Palermo, and it was outstanding--fresh, tasty, and served in portions that rival anything back home in Texas. For a restaurant with a full bar, it was surprising they had no mezcal and were supposedly out of top-shelf bourbon, yet still served me a drink that tasted overly sweet and nothing like the premium bourbon I ordered. Another letdown was the lack of bread service. Other J. Alexander's locations usually serve croissants, so having none available took away from the experience. The food didn't make up for it either. The steak lacked flavor and felt low quality for the price. The "fried chicken platter" was basically oversized chicken tenders marketed as an entrée, and the mac and cheese was watery and bland instead of rich and creamy. Overall, the experience felt inconsistent and poorly executed. Between the missing staples, questionable bar service, and underwhelming food, this location did not feel worth the cost.
