It's busy, it's loud, and really really good! Well worth the wait and definitely lives up to the hype. The Choptank quickly became a favorite and we can't wait to go back. The roll was on the smaller side but the crab loaded fries made up for it.

My wife and I stopped by The Choptank while celebrating America's 250th anniversary and the July 4th festivities in Annapolis, and it couldn't have been a better choice. Located right across from the U.S. Naval Academy and just off Main Street on the waterfront, the atmosphere was outstanding. We shared a hamburger and a chicken sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome even during the holiday crowds. Between the fantastic food, beautiful waterfront setting, and festive energy of the celebration, it was a memorable experience. If you're visiting Annapolis, especially around the City Dock, The Choptank is definitely worth a stop. We'll be back!

The best thing about this place i would say is the ambiance. The food was extremely subpar. The crab dip was mostly cheese. No flavor of crab and wayyyy too overpowered by cheese. I thought the crab cake would be a given given the fact that it was off the water in Maryland but it was not flavorful and was a disappointment given the cholestoerol crab has. I have had some REALLY good seafood in my life and this place just wasn't it. Everything also felt under seasoned and my Cesar salad was not good which is crazy because how do you mess up a Cesar salad ??? Very confusing. Like it was so bitter. I had to add so much old bay and black pepper and it still wasn't bearable. Wouldn't come back but the ambiance was cool and so was the artwork.

The view is unbeatable and their dirty martinis are perfection, but those are the only things that keep me coming back. Atlas group prices are diabolical. Every single item on their menu can be purchased for $10+ less at any neighboring establishment. The lights upstairs were flickering all night. Our waiter was lovely but this place is just so overpriced for nothing special.

Consistent good service. The weather and views of the pier/marina were great. staff were great as well. I tried the honey old bay wings, maryland crab soup, and seafood gumbo this time. The wings were great. They were crispy, a little spicy, and sweet with the honey drizzle. Maryland crap soup was spot on with good flavor. I wished it had a littlemore crab meat in it. The gumbo I thought was new on the menu. It is not gumbo season but I had to try it. It had most of the usualingredients. I appreciated the fully cooked okra. The seafood was fresh. There was one unexpectedingredient, bacon. The bacon pieces add a little flavor but the meal was good enough on its own without. I will definitely visit here again. Great time, great views, and great food.

Ate here last night for my future sister in law's birthday dinner. We had an 8 pm reservation and arrived a few minutes past 8. They told us they were getting our table ready. We waited for quite some time, and were seated closer to 9 pm. We were seated on the second floor which was very large and spacious. There were several large parties upstairs, and I will say our server was excellent. She was attentive, patient, and checked in regularly with us. Their menu has a great selection of seafood options, albeit more pricey. I started with seafood soup, and that was delicious. It had shrimp, thick slab of bacon cut into cubes, and scallops I believe. It was creamy, seasoned well, and a great starter. Then, I had their Caesar salad with chicken. It was a generous portion. I asked for blackened chicken, but they brought out grilled. It was fine. I just think the breadcrumbs were a bit too hard for my preference. Most of the table ordered salads, soups, and my sister in law ordered the crab sandwich. My fiancé had the salmon and he loved it. Since the portions were so large, most people took home to go boxes. What I loved about this location was how spacious and open it was. I liked that it was by the water. Definitely a nice seafood option that I'd return to again if I'm back in the area.

I had the Maryland Crabcake and the Nightwatch cocktail. They were both superb! The crab cake had a generous amount of crab and the sauce was delicious. I was able to substitute a Ceasar salad for the fries and it was very good. When we first sat down it took a while for the waitress to come over even though the restaurant was half full. But, she was very attentive afterwards. I loved that we had an open window seat and we could watch the boats go by.

We recently visited Choptank to celebrate what has been a phenomenal six months of performance, and my associates all agreed that this establishment was truly a treat. From the moment we arrived, the waterfront views set the tone for a memorable evening. The craft cocktails were delicious and expertly prepared. We shared three different appetizers, and the meatballs were the clear standout--absolutely outstanding. For our entrées, we ordered three different fish dishes, each prepared beautifully and uniquely. While every plate impressed, the sea bass was the unanimous favorite and easily one of the best seafood dishes we've had in quite some time. The sides deserve special recognition. Every single one was exceptional--10 stars across the board. My personal favorite was the mac and cheese. Perfection! Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and the perfect place to celebrate a team achievement. We look forward to returning as we celebrate more milestones.

We came down to the Choptank for a date night. We had a reservation for a weekday which wasn't necessary as I don't think this restaurant gets too busy during the winter on weekdays. I love being able to see the water, this restaurant is in a prime location. There was also parking which was a nice surprise as every other time I've come here there is never parking. The interior is sleek and upscale feeling. The decor is tasteful. They have a full bar and our drinks came out fast. Our calamari was great and my pasta was tasty. It is on the pricier side so be prepared! Overall it was a great date night I'd recommend Choptank!

We had the best experience here! Ashley was our bartender and she was such a positive, wonderful light! She greeted us with a smile and had personal, genuine conversation- and she recommended drinks based on what we liked! We stayed on our boat and came back in the morning for round 2 bc we enjoyed the vibes, drinks, food, and excellent service. We will be back :)

I brought my niece here for lunch. This place was recommended for its great view, so I decided to try it. The view is phenomenal--having lunch with yachts parked in front of you really makes your day better. I also really liked the service. However, the food is what took off two stars. We ordered crab cakes, broiled oysters, and crab dip. They were pretty good overall, but very salty. The crab dip, in particular, was extremely salty. I think the food would taste much better if they went easier on the salt.

I had visited this restaurant multiple times. And it's time to update the review. The place is still top notch - food is great. Service is great. Atmosphere is great. Honestly guys. If it's not mad busy you can def enjoy the ambience. Grill chicken sandwich so good. Burger spectacular. Salad amazing. All tvs play sports. Staff so friendly. I can't wait to go back

Pretty underwhelming for an upscale restaurant. Highlight was the mocktail and the Mac and cheese. Service was ok - our server was attentive, but never refilled water or asked if we wanted anything after ordering until dessert (would have ordered another mocktail). Bartender upstairs was super attentive when I couldn't find the door to the balcony - hilarious and congenial. Overall, not worth the pricey meal.

The ribeye steak was fantastic and the sauce complimented it really well. For drinks we had the rum and gin. The gin drink was fruity and my favorite out of the two. We had the almond cake and it didn't have much of a taste and the whip cream that came on the side must have been accidentally mixed with something that had processed onions because it had a really strong onion aftertaste. The ability to call ahead and get a fast reservation was enough foreshadowing to tell us this is a great restaurant. But the food soon clinched the deal. I had the crispy rockfish. Really good! Three big pieces of rockfish served atop black beans and rice. The side was 3 large shrimp perched on a slightly spicy salsa. A good aioli sauce finished off the dish nicely. I will say that the breading on the rockfish was not so crispy - rather, it was a tad on the soft side and bit too moist for my liking. But the fish inside was pure and white as expected. The serving was very large. My spouse had the crab cake dinner and he says that it is the best crab cake he has ever had. He even entered it into his restaurant contacts on his phone. This is high praise coming from a native Marylander who loves good Chesapeake Blue Crab. From my perspective, I could see that each of the 2 crab cakes was HUGE!!!! Just 1 alone might have been enough for a meal. The crab cakes were served on top of fried green tomatoes which he gobbled up. The balance of luxuriously silky crab salad against the fried green tomatoes was perfect. You know what else was perfect? The bread service! We each got 1 nicely sized roll, still warm and easy to pull apart. But the butter was enough to make me lick it off my knife. Garlic butter or chive butter - we could not quite decide - but it was so tasty that I wanted more. We both drank Arnold Palmers. He thought it was the best Arnold Palmer ever while I did not care for mine. I guess that is what makes the world go around, right? To each his own. Whatever you think of the crab cakes or the Arnold Palmer, O'Leary's Seafood is a great place. I highly recommend it for a great seafood meal.
