Husband and I celebrated 45 Year Anniversary today May 24 2026 I had the crab cake platter~ Hubby had the 'Special' Pasta , meatballs peppers onions. Both were amazing, Crab cakes did not disappoint, lump crabmeat broiled perfect! Mashed Potatoes and green beans delicious as well. Service was great from Hostess to Server ( Trinity) was great. We are Local to the Area , This was our 2nd time here, Looking forward to enjoying another great meal soon. read more

BLUF: Feels a bit off the beaten path and has great views and good food at reasonable prices. Dock House Restaurant is great! I've visited twice recently and I really enjoyed the scenic views and extensive menu. Both times I have sat outside which was in the shade and comfortable, even on the hottest days of the season. Watching the boat traffic come in go - everything from kayakers to yachters makes for an entertaining meal. Speaking of meals, I've now tried a handful or so items on the menu. Favorites so far are the Flounder Sandwich and potato skins topped with crab dip. The burger was good too. The halibut tacos and crab bruschetta are a pass for me. Service has been great at the Dock House. The servers have to walk fairly far from the kitchen to the dockside tables and they maintain great service. Kudos to them. Speaking of dock, there is space to dock boats parallel to the bulkhead. Several small to mid-size boats were there both times I visited. I looked to see if there was a sign about the depth or rules for docking there and I didn't see anything. What I have observed is there isn't a dock hand and it's not protected so it can get a little bit of chop. A few boaters were just hanging out on their boat listening to the live music so they didn't seem to mind getting jostled when larger traffic comes through the channel. For those with land yachts or a car, there is plenty of parking and it's easy to get here right off of US-50, assuming there isn't "beach traffic." Dock House is located on the back side of the Boatel that is visible from US-50. Dock House is absolutely one of my new favorite restaurants in the Annapolis area. I am looking forward to many return trips to Kent Island to continue working my way through the menu. read more

IYKYK.. in case you don't..this was an excellent Sunday brunch spot!! I love coming home to the Eastern Shore of MD..so many great restaurants options in Kent Narrows alone! The Dock House was our choice for today. Great outside seating, can't get any closer to the water unless you're swimming! Great view of the Chesapeake Bay as we enjoyed our meal. I had seafood omelette with potatoes and toast. Of course, I paired my meal with a couple of mimosas!! Brooke was an awesome, she provided top notch service!! I was driving back from a business trip in New Jersey and I saw this place as I was coming over the bridge. I took the first exit off of the bridge and was delighted that this place was easy to find. It is situated right on the Bay and there is both indoor and outdoor seating available. After such a long drive, naturally I had to start with a cocktail. The peach Aperol Spritz was DIVINE!! This is only way I ever want to enjoy an Aperol Spritz. I got lucky to catch them on a Wednesday when they had a 3 course dinner for $32. I got the berry salad as a starter, the crab cake as my main and chocolate cake for dessert. The berry salad was everything I wanted it to be and more. Big ole chunks of candied walnuts (The only way that I'll eat walnuts), lots of fresh salad greens and a slightly peppery vinaigrette. A refreshing start to the meal. I thought my entree was only going to be a single crab cake. Instead it was a crab cake that was slightly smaller than a tennis ball, a portion of sauteed yellow and green zucchini, and skin-on mashed potatoes. The zucchini was cooked well and lightly seasoned. However they skipped the seasoning on the mashed potatoes which was really disappointing. It tasted like they literally just boiled and rough-smashed them.... but with a little salt they were salvageable. The crab cake reminded me of why I only eat crab cakes in the state of Maryland... Chock full of sweet lump crab meat, seasoned perfectly and with minimal filler and breading. Superb. I got the chocolate cake to go. It was ok. The frosting was the best part. The cake itself tasted mass produced instead of like it came from an actual bakery so after a bite or two I decided to toss it. Bobby was the consummate host: polite, friendly, and welcoming. Service was quick too... My cocktails and food came out in no time. Coincidentally, he's also the person who created the peach Aperol Spritz cocktail. My daughter had the Margaret's pizza and she said the crust was soggy. She had a few bites but took it home to put in air fryer and finish the rest later. We were crossing the Bay Bridge outside of Annapolis, and wanted a not-too-expensive peaceful waterside lunch. Just west of the Kent Narrows bridge, we came across Dock House, off US-50, with lots of parking and some free docking to the right (east) of a large enclosed boat-storage building. Dock House a bright restaurant with a light modern nautical theme. There's window seating for around 100 with a lovely view the narrows, also visible from the 25-seat bar. There's further indoor seating for another 80, and seasonal outdoor seating with water views for at least a hundred more! The bar area is self-seating, and it was pretty quiet on a Sunday early-afternoon (Jan 2026). Their friendly efficient staff took our drink orders immediately from their creative cocktail menu. We had a $12 Pomegranate Manhattan from their Classics: Louisville Old Forrester bourbon and bitters, gently sweet from tinted pomegranate juice and lightly flavored with a mild rosemary simple syrup. This was a delight! Our designated driver liked the quiet sophistication of the $8 spirit-free Cranberry Rosemary Spritz from their Mocktail list. They offer a wide range of seafood and American fare, with mains and sandwiches from $15-$40, plus soups, salads, and a kids menu. We had a bright fresh $15 Harvest Salad, a generous patch of light tender baby kale, bright cubes of soft roasted butternut squash and fresh walnuts, sprinkled with creamy goat cheese crumbles and sweet pomegranate seeds. We got their tangy maple vinaigrette on the side. A tasty fresh refreshing salad. And we went for their $19 "new" Fried Flounder Sandwich, crispy lightly-fried sweet tender flounder on white bread which they toasted for us. It had fresh lettuce and plenty of tomato slices, and a light layer of tartar sauce. A delicious crunchy handful, which we got with a generous side of piping hot lightly crispy fries. We loved the quiet cool of the place and the delicious food, the amazing water view, the attentive staff, and the chance to catch the afternoon football games on two TVs over the enclosed bar. A perfectly pleasant Sunday afternoon. It's easier than it sounds below to get to Dock House at exit 41 off US-50, just west of Kent Narrows, just off the public boat ramp under the bridge. There's plenty of parking east of that huge boat-storage building for several shops. Dock House is in a separate building at the north end of that parking. Or you can dock your boat there for free. TLDR, well, maybe read once: If you are westbound, Exit 41 just after of the Kent Narrows bridge puts you on Piney Narrows Rd, and you keep straight until you are nearly under US-50, then turn left to the boat ramp. If you are eastbound, from Exit 41 take a left on MD18 Main St and take the next left under US50 onto Piney Narrows Rd, just west of the Kent Narrows bridge, then an immediate right to the public boat ramp. Either way, in the ramp's parking lot you turn left, away from US-50, and keep to the right around the huge boat-storage building. Really, the first time you do it, you'll find that the only trick is to see that turn off Piney Narrows Rd towards the boat ramp. read more

Ordered takeout and was really disappointed. The food overall was bland. The steak was overcooked and lacked flavor, and the crab cake was burnt. The biggest issue, though, was the order being wrong. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and even called ahead to confirm it, including requesting extra dressing. I was told everything was correct. When I got home, it was just a plain Caesar salad -- no chicken and no extra dressing. The only bright spot is I wasn't charged for the chicken I didn't receive. Brunch anyone? I checked out Dock House for the first time. And here is how it went down: The restaurant was mostly empty when we showed up, and it still took forever to get us seated. Strike one. We were seated and provided menus, but they didn't give us a kids menu and we have a kid with us, so we requested it. It came fast but strike two. Am I being too picky...maybe...NOT! Put waitress was nice enough, but wasn't 100% accurate about the menu as we would soon find out. However her kindness outweighed her mistakes. Not strike but a ball. As for the food....it was good, very good. Not great but very good and definitely worth visiting again and trying other items on the menu. As for the atmosphere, you can't beat water front and views. We stopped by for lunch after trying a couple other local places that had 1-hour wait times. There was no wait for a covered table outside with a great view, and the mood was much more relaxed than the other places we stopped at even though it looked a bit dressier. The servers were both competent and very nice, not always expected but really appreciated. We have an allergy issue with canola oil (used primarily because it is cheap) which they addressed by asking questions for clarity, making a note on the electronic ordering thingy (sorry for the technical terms) and then talking with the chef to make sure none of the components contained canola and then cooked the crabcake with butter instead. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the crab cake grilled cheese is one of the best sandwiches I can remember eating. We were eating late lunch time and there was a guitarist/singer doing live music. He did a nice job with the songs and was not overly loud. Overall there is not one bad thing I can say about the meal or the people. We had a great meal and a nice time. This one was added to our list of places to go back to. read more

The view is beautiful and there isn't a bad seat in the place. Service was good. I wasn't impressed with the crushes like I was in OC, this was really soda heavy. Wifey and I decided to spend a gorgeous day on eastern shore, so off we went across the Bay Bridge. My roots are from Denton Maryland, so every time I can get across the bridge, I'm down. So, we decided on the Dock House after contemplating all of the obvious options on Kent Island. The location of the Dock House is a little weird, being tucked off on the other side of a dry stack, however plenty of parking and the place is huge with bar, indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for the indoor with the water view which was awesome. Our server was excellent, and the food was served perfectly in sync. We opted for lunch, the soft shell samich with truffle tots and Wifey had the shrimp po boy with fries. As an appetizer, we had the Dock House popcorn and boy was that a treat! This was my first visit to The Dock House with a bunch of my retired women friends. It was a gorgeous sunny day and they gave us a table in the room way in the back, with nice views of the water. Crab cakes were a pleasant surprise. My wife and I went here with some friends for dinner recently. We sat in the outroom by the window overlooking the marina. I expected this to be a chilly dinner but the room was warm and bright. We ordered drinks and appetizers (crushes and oysters Rockefeller) and they were spot on. Looking through the menu I finally settled on crab cakes . I was hesitant being it was the middle of January and everything outside was frozen. They came out perfect. Cooked to perfection, big chunks of meat, fell apart nice and had very little filler. Overall great experience. read more

I was in Kent Island visiting family when Dock House came up as a recommendation for lunch. It checked a few boxes since it was close by, had plenty of options, and had gluten free items clearly marked. Check, check, check. The inside appears to be brand new. They have a heated patio area where we opted to sit. It was fairly crowded for lunch but we were seated quickly. Our server seemed to be new but she was friendly and did her best. We ordered the chicken nachos to share and I got a chicken caesar salad. The chicken nachos were underwhelming. The toppings were concentrated completely to the middle of the plate and there didn't appear to be much chicken. It's my humble opinion that nachos should have toppings layered evenly throughout the chips. We also weren't given small plates so it was a little messy to eat. We flagged down our server who eventually got us some plates. The nachos were so disappointing that I ended up opting to get a salad instead of the tacos I was eyeing for my main course. The salad was good enough, it's pretty hard to mess something like that up. Overall it wasn't bad but I wouldn't be running back. I quite literally don't have a single negative thing to say - I'd give this place a 10 star review if I could. Everything was amazing, from the service to the food to the vibes. Jordan O was so great - she gave great recommendations, was so efficient and attentive. She had a smile on her face the entire time and (happily) put up with my indecisiveness. My family and I went to the Dock House restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. We went by boat and there was quite a bit of dockage, which is nice for the parking. The atmosphere was great. Had a two-man band. The food and drinks were average. I have to say they have plenty of employees there to help you, but our server was great she was on the ball. We did not have to wait long for our food to come out either which is a big plus. The reason why I gave it four stars was because it's quite expensive for what little food you get. Came for dinner because a waitress at the Jetty said we should give it a try, and that the owners were the same. The hostess was friendly and said the wait was about twenty five minutes. We asked if there was a bar and she said yes and that they had a couple open tables if we wanted to try that instead. We proceeded to the back and sat down at a high top. It was crowded and we kept waiting for someone to come over. Thirty minutes later a manger came by and asked if we were waited on. We said no, so she gave us menus and said she would be back in a few minutes or one of the girls would be over. Fifteen minutes later we were still waiting, then noticed two seats opened up at the bar and moved over there. Another ten minutes and another manager came over and asked if we wanted to order drinks. We proceeded to tell her we have been waiting for over forty five minutes now just to order a drink and no one has even looked at us. She said I remember when you came in. She apologized several times and said that it was supposed to rain so they sent several people home. We received our drinks and one wasn't quite right. A Vodka martini with a lemon twist should have a taste of lemon and also lemon peel in it - it did not taste like it or have the lemon. We told the manager and she said she saw the girl make it and lemon was put it and brought me a piece of lemon....An older couple were seated next to us and they said they have never had such bad service like they did tonight. Anyway, we ordered a couple of drinks and then a couple of apps. The bartender took our dinner orders and we ordered a bottle of wine. She opened the bottle of wine at the end of the bar and put the cork back in it and brought it over to us. Maybe she is new I don't know but that's not how you present a bottle of wine. Our dinners came out and were just okay. We had the surf and turf and the lobster roll. The filet had no taste but was cooked as ordered and the lobster roll was lobster salad - my fault for not reading the description. The mussels we had for an app were very good. The restaurant is beautiful with amazing water views and there is plenty of parking. The food was nothing special and the service was horrible. We won't be back. read more

This may have been my favorite meal of our two week east coast beaches trip. We wandered in off the street on a Sunday night, staying one night in Kent Narrows before heading back to AZ via Dulles. The restaurant was very empty and we got a stellar table right on the water with a view of the beautiful bridge behind us for pictures. Our server was an outgoing young lady who happily accommodated our indecision with lots of time and suggestions. We started with a Chesapeake lager and Blueberry Lemonade. I loved this cocktail and probably should have stopped at one! Strong and unique, I would order this often if I lived nearby! We decided on oysters Rockefeller (5) while we sipped and enjoyed the view. They were small but tasty, prepared traditionally and done right. For my entree I ordered the whiskey glazed salmon with broccoli and sweet potato tots. Spouse had a soft shell crab sandwich and a side salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. The salmon was sweet and smoky with the whiskey glaze. The total were perfect dipped in ranch. The broccoli was tender, not too crunchy. I chose the second cocktail as my dessert, and by then we were the only table occupied at 7pm. What a lovely patio dinner and great memories. I would love to come back again! read more

This past weekend I celebrated a bride for her bridal shower at Dock House restaurant. It was an ice cream theme and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating for the theme and "ice cream bar". The food was great, perfect for a luncheon, and consisted of mini slider sandwiches, fruit, pasta salad, and ceasar salad. The bartenders were amazing the strawberry purée for the mimosas was a hit! Called ahead the night before to get a reservation, only to find out they don't do reservations. No worries, though, we showed up expecting a group of 10, and the team was ready for us. We ended up with 4 that didn't show, but our party of 6 was a handful. The manager seated us, and had plenty of drink suggestions, including a special Old Fashioned and something called a "Bay Buck" which was AMAZING. The menu is primarily seafood (it is attached to the marina, so no kidding), but there are plenty of options for us land-based eaters. The mussels were PERFECT According to my table mates. I had the fish and chips, which were a light and flaky cod, with no aftertaste, and fried to perfection. Everyone in our group loved the food. Save room for the bread pudding dessert. Trust me on that one. The decor is as expected, and the restaurant is spotlessly clean, and they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was closed in with roll-ups, so it wasn't really exposed. We were inside, and comfy. What sets Dock House apart from other restaurants in the Narrows is the service. Our server (and her trainee) were VERY attentive, without being creepy or intrusive. They kept up with our orders, and changes. They had our orders perfect, even though every one of us had slight customizations on our meals. The manager came by to check on us a few times as well, which was refreshing. We as a group will definitely be back, as the team at Dock House really has their act together!! read more

We should have known when the place was nearly empty on a pleasant July Friday night, and every other dock-side restaurant was hopping. The good... one star for each... 1) Our server was lovely and professional. 2) I had the special cocktail (watermelon martini) and it was delicious. That said, the food was pretty awful. My husband had the new grouper sliders, and they were fine. Not great, but nothing specific to complain about. I had the berry salad with salmon. It was supposed to come on spring mix but was on romaine instead. I would have accepted that without fussing, but the salmon was bland and dry... and I suspect not fresh. There was zero seasoning... not even salt. And there's no salt or pepper on the table. I can count on one hand the number of times I have sent a meal back, but this was ridiculous, especially for $26. The server was very apologetic and offered a replacement, but we declined since we didn't trust that it would be worth it. The part that frustrated us the most is that we let them know that we live locally. It would have been a great opportunity for the manager to incentivize us to return. A simple $25 gift card or a voucher for a couple of drinks, and a "please give us another try... this is not representative of us" would have gone a long way to getting us to come back. However, the manager was MIA despite the near-empty place. It seems like they are counting on the summer travelers who will just accept a poor meal and move along. What a disappointment. read more

We brought my 11 year old there for her birthday. It took 1 1/2 for the food to come. It was a half empty restaurant. We got the lobster special and 2 steak frites. The lobster was no where near the 1 1/2 pound they advertised. It was also served in pieces on the plate. The waitress said they did that because they were running out of utensils. The steaks were dry and bland. The manager never walked around the dining room to check on anything. I called after we left to explain our experience. Effin loved the idea of adding shrimp salad underneath of one even though I'm a simple crab cake type of girl. The crab cake was cooked perfectly with little filler and plenty of lump. Tried this newer restaurant for the first time on a midafternoon. Lots of seating, clean bathrooms, quick service, and delicious food. Sat outside with the choice of shade or sun right along the water. The nearby elevated highway traffic can be heard, but still a pleasant place to visit. I'd give this place a 0 if I could! One of the worst dining experiences in my life! The food was old and disgusting complete with a hair in it and it was only chicken nachos! How do you screw that up?! What's worse than that tho was how carryout and the restaurant was run and how the issue was handled after I called to let them know this blob of hairy mess called nachos was intolerable. 1st off nobody stays at the hostess stand ever... I litterally called them from the hostess stand on my cell phone to get someone to come out after walking into the dining room looking for ANYONE to come out and help me pick up my food getting cold. This has happened quite a few times I've been there. I was told by Annie the hostess was setting up tables but if that was true why was the hostess out in 3 seconds after she answered the phone telling her Ive been waiting to pick up my food? She mysteriously popped from around the corner with my gross food. BS'd yet again! Why did I go back after two other subpar experiences you may be thinking? I tend to give people and places way too many chances and give them the benefit of the doubt. 2. I get the chicken nachos home and it litterally has 2 pcs of chicken the size of my pinky finger nail (I swear to the Lord above)! That's it! It had a blob of sour cream the size of a small dinner plate and 90% of the chips were stale like rubber! No pico or scallions and unmelted slabs of some kind of cheese! Where is the kitchen manager in all of this?! 3. Worst yet, I spoke to 3 managers trying to get a refund and neither of them Lisa or Megan could do so even tho they are managers. Megan who was very nice and Lisa needs major training (don't BS your customers Lisa but now I know where she gets it from right Annie?). Megan had to phone Annie the GM offsite on the 2nd day to get a refund after I brought the food back and after pressing them for a refund because they wanted me to come back a 3rd day....oh hell no!! All that to get a refund? Annie knowingly BSing me that they had problems with the Nachos (are you serious!) A 6th grade kid can make Nachos! Its one of the easiest things to make on the menu people next to toast! Pathetic! Wait! It gets better! The worst part is, this restaurant doesn't appreciate their patrons! Not 1 manager or employee... (5 ppl were involved) offered me a substitute dish, even the general manager Annie stated "we don't do anything for our guests but give refunds" we don't give refunds and/or replacement food or anything for your trouble, just a refund" and evidently reluctantly at that. Seriously, on the 3rd day they giveth refunds that she tells me "it might take awhile to hit my bank account"...what?! Its not the money people, it was $17, its the way things were handled. They offer no replacement food, no gift cards, no nothing to earn a customers loyalty or a we messed up, we're sorry token! I've eaten there a few times out of proximity (of the 3 times I've eaten there all the food was a disappointing 5-6 out of 10 each time. I will not eat here again with friends and/or family nor will I go to that "shit show" the Jetty either (same owners). Bonus material Last time about a year ago I was at the Jetty with a group of family and friends with an 8 yr old and a lil 15 yr old Chihuahua to listen to a bit of music from the early band outside on the deck as it was a nice night and for basically a nightcap after eating elsewhere. Well wouldnt ya know it, we got sucked into a fight with drunk patrons at 700pm even after explaining to Security (what a joke that is) that these drunk patron near us were obnoxious and causing problems all around us and eventually to us as well. They did nothing until all hell broke loose! Half the place was fighting! I added this to let you all know that this is how ownership runs both of these locations unfortunately! Nice places, horrible management! Stay away at all costs! They don't appreciate your business they expect it...big difference. Go to Harris Crab House, Grab Deck, Fishermans Inn, Bridges where I've always had great experiences and good food at these locations. They appreciate their customers unlike Dock House or The Jetty nearby. I hope this unfortunate review will help others not have bad dining/night on the town experiences like we had.
