I knew by looking at it that this was not what I had ordered so I asked if it was albariño. He insisted it was but I knew it wasn't by the look, smell, and taste. He eventually came back about 10 minutes later with the correct pours. By that point, we were starving so we put all our food in at once to hopefully speed things up. We ordered the parmesan fries, pierogies, crab dip, and beet salad to start. We also each got entrees including the shrimp and grits, crab cakes, steak, and white fish (I think it was branzino?). The appetizers were all delicious - the fries were consumed quickly and the crab dip, although not very crab meat forward, had nice flavor. They provided GF crackers as well but the dip could've used some carrots or celery too. The beet salad wasn't bad either. The entrees came out quickly before we could even finish our apps. Our order definitely was not paced correctly. The flavor of my shrimp and grits was good though and it had a surprisingly nice kick to it. We also ordered dessert - a key lime pie and ice cream(?) if I'm remembering correctly. What I do remember is that the ice cream came out quickly and the key lime pie took forever. It was weird to have our two desserts come out separately and by the time the other one arrived, the first one was already finished, making it a bit awkward. Does the management team not coordinate with the hotel staff to know which weekends are hosting weddings, etc.? They should be prepared for a breakfast rush the Saturday after Friday wedding. And regardless, why are they not adequately staffed on weekends in general? I have been here several times on a weekend and it's always understaffed compared to the number of people waiting for food. Recently I walked in and looked at the line, looked at the staffing, and I just walked out. Today (Friday) I came and was the first person in line, although I think one or two people were waiting on active orders. The only dish I ordered was a Caesar salad with blackened salmon. It took 25 minutes for them to cook a single piece of salmon. People who came and got in line after me and ordered after me had their food made and delivered before I got my food. This was despite having tons of people working every station. This was not a staffing issue, but an inefficiency and poor workflow issue. I don't know exactly what the issue is back there but it's clear they have some significant problems with getting orders out on time - and that is not related to the amount of staff they have. Bottom line: if you come on a weekday or in the off hours for lunch, you're probably going to do fine. I would not recommend coming here for breakfast unless you are staying in the hotel and even then I would make sure you leave plenty of time to wait.

Our server was great and checked on us continuously and of course looking at the boats and the condos on the water made us daydream :) If I ever want to drive a little further, The Jetty is the place! So I ordered a cheesesteak with mayo, raw onions and cheese When the food runner came to the table she handed the plate and the sandwich had tomatoes and lettuce on it. I told her it wasn't right. She left and handed tue kid the plate which he brought over laughing He said smiling here's your plate. I said this isn't how I ordered it and he said the extra mayo is in the cup. I said I asked for it with mayo, onions, and cheese. He walked away laughing . When he returned he had the sandwich... rather than remaking it they tried to scrape off the lettuce and tomato and added a fresh slice of cheese. Sadly the sandwich still had lettuce on it and it was hot and wilted from remelting the new cheese. And the fries were now cold. So the chef gets a zero and the waiter a Double Zero. Although this was our first visit, the staff and other customers made us feel like we were at our own local bar. I really appreciated that the bartender checked in on us a few times to ensure our food was fine and to see if we needed more refills. The vibe is really laid back, which was perfect after spending a few hours at the beach. The menu is more like comfort-style food with plenty of burger and sandwiches options. For our meals, we went with a crab cake sandwich and a fish sandwich, both of which included a side. I thought the food was pretty good, and I have no major or minor complaints. Also, I thought the crab cake had a decent amount of lump crab (for the price). It was interesting (in a good way) that the sweet potato fries had a bit of cinnamon and sugar. While the fries were a bit sweet for me, I did not find them to be overly sugary. Also, Big Bats Cafe has plenty of speciality cocktails include an assortment of Crushes. Our price tag (without tip) was about $70 for two sandwich combo meals, three beers, and two cocktails. All in all, we (including the dog) had a wonderful time at Big Bats Cafe and hope to visit again in the future.
