$18 - 2 slices burrata and 7 tomatoes cut in half

I've always liked Scossa and have been coming for 15 years but the food has declined. And the prices have gone up. $18 for 2 slices of burrata tonight and 6 cherry tomatoes cut in half. Then Overcooked pasta (last 4 visits to the restaurant - when i booked on open table I didn't want to review bc I didn't want to give up my name) and the pasta was just swimming in this gross garlic sauce. And the bartender didn't listen to my order. Not sure if the chef or management has changed, but please bring back old Scossa. the burrata $18 for 2 slices was the worst insult of all. I could get steak frites at Praeger's new restaurant next door. Service has also declined. And the hostess can be snobby. I loved old Scossa I've waited a while to write this review. I hope management might read it

    Delicious hazelnut gelato dessert

My first experience here, and it was very nice! We didn't have a reservation, but that's okay. It's a beautiful day so we had a table out front on the town square. We were greeted immediately on entry and very friendly and courteous staff. We got a nice table. Very nice wine list. We ordered some antipasto and a bottle of imported Italian Cabernet Sauvignon. For the main course I had to try the Rigatoni Bolognese and had a side of asparagus. Table side service was exceptional. Food came out fairly quickly, and considering they were hosting a wedding party in their back room , that's a high mark. The rigatoni was fantastic, with fresh ground Parmesan and fresh ground black pepper. For dessert I had to try the hazelnut gelato flute. So good and refreshing after the meal. It's a little more expensive place than I would usually go, but I'd say it's worth the extra cost for a great dining experience. Give it a try.

Sat outside in the early morning and watched the sun rise over a cove. Took out kayaks and paddleboards in the afternoon, and then had a drink. Ate dinner one night at the restaurant, and it was good. The breakfasts were fresh-cooked each morning, and substantial. They have a Keurig and other free drinks 24/7, which is good for me because I wake up before dawn. We did have a couple of minor problems, but the staff took care of them immediately and without any fuss. I really appreciate that type of service because often you get a reluctant and slow response, or the hotel doesn't have the resources to fix the problem. If there's one thing to warn about, it's that The Oaks is heavily into the wedding business, and that drives its entire strategy. So you can't get a room on a weekend if there's a wedding booked, and you can't get into the restaurant for dinner, either. And thus on the nights when you can get into the restaurant, it's typically full because folks from the nearby towns like to come, plus the hotel guests. If you see a complaint on Yelp, most likely it's due to the rather limited access to the restaurant and the weird rules about when it's available. In sum, this is an expensive place, but it's worth it for a quiet, romantic, scenic getaway.

Upon arrival we were given a tour of the hotel which included the bar and restaurant. Room was very spacious and clean, plenty of drawer storage space but not a lot of closet space. Bathroom was gorgeously designed, opened, and had very nice heated floors! The bed was also super comfortable. Can hear music from the restaurant downstairs, would definitely recommend bringing a white noise machine. Breakfast is chef made & included in your stay, which was so convenient & delicious!! The hotel is around a 10 min drive to St. Michael's. On our last night we got stuck on the western side of the Bay Bridge & had to detour around the Chesapeake. We called the hotel & they graciously gave us a late check out the following afternoon. Staff is very attentive & kind! We will definitely be back in the peak season!!

It was cooked to perfection and the eggs were the perfect cook for such an adventure to my tastebuds. It had a fresh bed of greens that we're drizzled with a vinegarette. Everything was delicious and the staff was amazing. I actually dropped my wallet and couldn't find it for one day and when I called they said it was in the manager's office. Kudos to an amazing staff and establishment. I found out upon retreaving my wallet that they have a great HH and that on the first Friday, it's a special hh so I will be back!

The service in general just didn't seem great despite it not being very busy. After we were sat, it took about 5 minutes before our server even came to talk to us and about 10 minutes before we got bread and water. I think had we had a better server, it would have increased our overall experience but he was not personable at all (he was not rude but just skipped all niceties), was slow to check in on us, and he never filled our empty water glasses. The cocktails were good. The seafood seemed fresh and the pasta itself was good but the saffron sauce on my dish was flavorless and separated. My shrimp was severely overcooked. The lump crab meat was good and they were generous with that portion. The bolognese sauce was better flavor but kind of greasy. We were initially excited when we sat down in this place because the menu did look really good but the service brought it down for sure. With better service, I think it would have been 4 stars.

It was quite literally just a panko crusted burrata that was fried. And that was it. I guess for the price I was expecting like a side baguette or more tomatoes. It was good but not worth it to us. For our meal we got the lobster pot pie ($42) and the short rib ($42). The pot pie had a great flavor and had some good chunks of lobster. Although I did find it a little more on the soupy side and thought it could've been a bit thicker. The short rib in puff pastry had a good flavor but was dry. The mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts were good but nothing memorable.
