My wife and I stopped by during Chocolate Fest and had a really nice time. They were actually sampling some chocolate drinks they were preparing for the festival, which was a fun touch and made the visit feel festive. The atmosphere was great and the drinks were excellent. They make a really good Bloody Mary, and overall the bar side of things was a highlight. For food, we split a sandwich, an appetizer, and a salad. The sandwich was very good, but the rest of the food was just okay. The Caesar salad didn't seem fully tossed, and the pretzel with crab felt like it may have been microwaved. It wasn't bad, just not on the same level as the drinks and atmosphere. Overall it was a nice stop and we enjoyed ourselves. We'd definitely go back for drinks and the atmosphere. read more

My wife asked for chicken salad on a Croissant. The waiter brough it on bread. He said we have not had Croissant all day. My husband and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner. We started out with the fried burrata. I'm not sure what else I was expecting but for $26 I felt a little jipped. It was quite literally just a panko crusted burrata that was fried. And that was it. I guess for the price I was expecting like a side baguette or more tomatoes. It was good but not worth it to us. For our meal we got the lobster pot pie ($42) and the short rib ($42). The pot pie had a great flavor and had some good chunks of lobster. Although I did find it a little more on the soupy side and thought it could've been a bit thicker. The short rib in puff pastry had a good flavor but was dry. The mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts were good but nothing memorable. This past Sunday, I wanted to treat my fiancé and her son to a nice brunch here. I've been to The Galley several times, and have always had a decent experience, never great, but none that have driven me away. After making a reservation, the hostess was unable to find her "book," and sat us. It was an empty table, we stood by while she wiped it down. We were never given table setups, and waited another 10 minutes or so for our server to come to the table. She asked if we wanted drinks, we ordered two coffees and a lemonade, but before I would order an appetizer, she was already rushing away. I was able to stop her, and what we originally wanted, "we are out of those today." We opted for the cinnamon roll. About ten minutes later our coffees and lemonade arrived...still no setups, nothing to assist with preparing our coffees. The waitress was MIA, so I got up and began to grab setups from the table behind us. The server saw me grabbing them, and her response was, "Oh, ok, you got them." Not, "I'm sorry, let me get those for you," or "I'm sorry I forgot to grab you setups," nothing, just could not care any less. Our food arrived, and it was mediocre, best. My skillet breakfast was more tots than eggs and sausage. The sausage was clearly frozen patties that were torn apart, and the eggs tasted like premade eggs, slightly heated to melt the cheese. The worst part of the meal was the check. $95 before tip, for a salad, a BLT, eggs/sausage/tots, two coffees and a lemonade. The coffees were $6.50 each. If we were at a specialty coffee shop, I would expect that, but not at a casual dining restaurant. There were black coffees, not lattes or anything fancy. The lemonade was $6! I was almost surprised they didn't charge for water! Perhaps if the service and overall experience was excellent, and we didn't feel like anything we asked for was an inconvenience, the price wouldn't have been so shocking. But, Over $100 with tip to get the Denny's experience was a joke! We won't be returning. And, it's too bad, as a new resident of the area, we were hoping for a great regular spot. read more

Wow! The place to have breakfast in St Michael's - family and dog friendly. What a wonderful spot. This is a 5 star spot, the BEST maple syrup Bloody Mary I've ever tried. Sweet and spicy, the mix I didn't know I was missing. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. Can't recommend them enough. Pro tip: get there early, and grab an amazing spot outside. After spending the night at St. Michaels, we wanted to grab some breakfast before we left. My husband and I walked by and they proclaimed they had the best breakfast, so we decided to stop by. I got the lox wrap, which was nothing really special. He got a breakfast with pancakes, eggs, bacon. It came with a biscuit, but it was so stale it was inedible. We got sucked in by the outdoor seating. I wish I would have read reviews first. I would give it a 3.5. Service was slow and mediocre. We weren't disclosed there would be an up charge for switching out English muffins for biscuits which was $6 on an already $39 breakfast, tad crazy. My husband enjoyed it but our bill was $ 85. Literally established a Yelp account so I could review this restaurant. In a word, the dining experience here was terrible. I'll start with the best thing about this restaurant, the historic home/bank provided a wonderful ambiance. Great location in St Michaels, but that's unfortunately where the positive comments end. Service was abysmal. We didn't have contact with our waitress for nearly 30 minutes. After waiting for water for 20 minutes, I had to go to the bar to fill my own glass. Food was insanely overpriced. I got the Southwest Salad with chicken, which was $9 dollars for 7 pieces of cold, cubed chicken added to a TGIF salad bar style salad. I would have been happy to prepare this in my own kitchen before work, but would be embarrassed to charge $25 in public. I wish this place the best of luck because the staff was friendly (on the off chance we interacted) but it's among the worst dining experiences for the cost I can remember. The town might have fooled the British, but don't let the Galley fool you into thinking it's anything more than an overpriced and poorly staffed option in an otherwise great town. read more

Our third visit to The Galley after having two horrible food and service experiences has proven to be just a terrible restaurant. All three experiences were identical: breakfast food that seemed to be scooped out of a plastic food service bucket rather than cooked to order. The telltale sign is then the eggs are square shaped and chalky. The pastry's were dry and not fresh. The pancakes were like cardboard. We waited over an hour to be served which made us late for an event we were attending. The excuse was: we have a table of 20... if you're going to take a table of 20, then don't seat other patrons if you can't handle the capacity. The owner of this restaurant really needs to take a hard look at their food, processes, and revamp their execution. This restaurant is always packed BUT it's only a matter of time before people stop going here as other local restaurants are starting to serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. I hate to see a small business close its doors so please take the negative reviews seriously and get this restaurant back on track. read more

We were on our way to a different place when we walked right by this restaurant. The place was popping for brunch and the outdoor seats were inviting. We walked right in and since they have plenty of outdoor tables, we were able to get seated fairly quickly. Everything was great! Location was nice and breezy; it was right there in the downtown area and a short walk from the public parking lot. They were also very kind to my dog and brought him a water bowl without me asking. Food and drinks were even better. The highlight for me was the Bloody Mary. It was very balanced and I loved all the toppings. It also looked very appetizing and checkout that toothpick with a shell at the end! I got the breakfast burrito for my meal and it was delicious. The tater tots were perfectly crisp and they were quite accommodating when I asked for the beans and sour cream to be on the side. The servings were quite sizeable and the biggest plus for me is the price! I was coming from Baltimore so was pleasantly surprised that my amazing meal was cheaper than I expected. So to start we needed a Dog Friendly Restaurant. Next it's a Breakfast & Lunch Restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating! A good menu of Breakfast or Brunch l, Serving Signature Drinks! So we upgraded to Fancy Glass Bloody Mary, we also placed our Food order at the same time! I prefaced this became it the Drink arrived quickly the Food were still waiting, Seriously, the food took over 50 minutes after the drinks we had to ask our Waitress what the issue was, she came back with the food and had to be sitting on a Counter somewhere and it was COLD So being that it's a Resort Eclectic town there are a limited number of Restaurants so know that if you need a Restaurant that allows Dogs know that you're limited! Stop...proceed with caution. I had their biscuits and gravy which were ok, the eggs looked like powdered eggs, the sausage in between the biscuits was meh, lastly there were tater tots. This food reminded me of my years in the military and going to the dining facility for breakfast. Typically in a sausage biscuits and gravy the sausage is cooked with the gravy not placed in between biscuits. A dish like this would come with home fried style potatoes or hasbrowns and not tater tots. I ate most of my meal because I was hungry, but definitely didn't enjoy it. read more

I ate there at a recent visit to St Michaels. It is an awesome shore town to visit. Location: it is the best pet of the Galley. You can't miss it as t is one of the most noticeable eateries on the Main Street. Decor: it looks very beach in the outside with a perfect combination of blue and whites. Ample seating outside. Parking in the back. Service: it is OK. Felt like some collage kid who was doing Ilya a favor. Food: my crab dip was crap! I had to abandon it after a few bites. I am still wondering if it was the dip or the stale pretzels. My sandwich was OK. It is a nice spot and if you want to hang outside and people watch probably wort it. read more

My sister and I went to The Galley over the weekend. The restaurant was cute and the food was good...not great but good. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was the enormous amount of flies in the restaurant. There were more flies inside than outside. The other problem was the dismissive attitude of the owner (that's how she introduced herself). She said was aware of the problem and pointed to a fly trap by the bar (that needed to be replaced). We explained to her about our experience due to the flies and she said she was doing "all that she could". We thought of several other ways to help combat this problem, but she said she was doing all that she could. You should have seen all of the other restaurant patrons swatting away the flies from their table. It made for a bad experience and it seems as if the owner doesn't have a problem with her patrons constantly being inconvenienced with their fly infestation. Take care of that!!! read more
