This bed and breakfast could not have been better! Eric and Michael are two of the most thoughtful, kindest, and genuinely amazing people I've met. They genuinely care about the guests. Everything about the inn was perfect-to the smallest detail. The food was out of this world! The mushrooms in the morning were heavenly! I'm attaching a photo of the breakfast monte cristo from the last day's breakfast just for reference. Sadly, it's one of the only photos I took as I was so enthralled with experiencing that I forgot to use the camera.

We usually stay in St Michaels but this time decided on Easton when I came upon the Hummingbird Inn while checking on lodging. So glad we found this place. This is what you'd expect of a perfect B&B - charming Victorian house complete with a big covered wrap around porch and turret on the corner, unique, spacious rooms all with interesting features, and the freshly prepared 3 course gourmet breakfast in the bright, exquisitely decorated dining room complete with white table cloth. Rooms all updated even when retaining traditional features. We had the Tilghman Island room on the third (top) floor - with vaulted ceilings (parts of the arches a bit low so need to watch your head), big bathroom with shower and tub - latter claw footed and sits by a window - bath with a view! This is a most comfortable room for two although it has two daybeds and a wooden baby cot so can accommodate more, nice seating especially in the natural light filled rounded turret sitting area. Aircon is centrally regulated by the host so you need to let him know whether the temp is comfortable. All rooms are on second and third floor, no elevator. This is a B&B you'd want to return to - try a different room each time! Only thing about our room that could use improvement is that the blinds are not light blocking, especially the half moon one above one of the day beds - with only lace curtains, so although the place is exceedingly quiet if you are sensitive to light you will wake up too early. No coffee making facilities in room but self service is available from 7 am in the dining room where there is a fridge with drinks and snacks and a shelf to keep any food you might have. Location is central - just a few blocks to downtown shops and restaurants. Free parking on property.

Eric even flew our state flag during our stay. Very personalized experience!!

By far one of the best B&Bs I've been to. We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of September for Ironman Maryland. I was a late registration, so a lot of places were sold out. Luckily, a room opened up at the Hummingbird Inn and I booked it. From the moment I checked in, I knew a got super lucky with this find. Eric checked me in and gave me a tour of the house. I then joined Eric and a couple other guests (also doing IMMD) in the parlor for some wine. Had a great time! Over the four night we spent at the Hummingbird, we made some good friends with other guests and Eric. We really can't wait to return! The breakfasts are amazing! Eric works miracles with food! Also, unlike other B&Bs I've been to, Eric gives a choice of two breakfasts and three sides. We tried different items each day because it was all amazing! The Inn is very well appointed and is done right! Eric really thought of everything, while still managing to maintain the charm of a Victorian home. We stayed in the Cambridge Room. The online photos don't do it justice. It's a very nice room with a fireplace and a sitting area. Very spacious room. The bathroom is a little small, but well appointed. I was pleasantly surprised at the shower. Great water pressure and spacious. Bed was super comfortable. Built-in USB ports on both sides of the bed in the outlet. Not a feature usually found in a Victorian B&B. In respect to the Ironman, this was an excellent spot to stay. I was a little concerned not staying in Cambridge. I'm usually a host hotel kinda guy. But, this place was perfect! Cambridge is an easy drive. There are several places in Cambridge you can reserve parking for the entire race week that's right at transition and the expo. Plus, Easton is a great town with some amazing restaurants. If I do IMMD again, I'll definitely stay here. This place is every bit of a 5 star B&B. Honestly, I can't wait to come back.

It is often said, "Find your happy place". Well there's no better happy place than the Hummingbird Inn. The moment you step out of your car the magic begins. A whimsical garden awaits with a softly flowing fountain, pleasing plants, and soft music playing. Continue to the wrap around porch with its own swing gently swaying in the breeze. Through the front door a fairytale ambiance escorts you on a tour of the public areas. Eric, your very accommodating host shows you to a beautifully appointed room ready to meet your every need. Just when you think it can't get any better you look up and see a hummingbird floating from the ceiling. The breakfast part of this charming Bed & Breakfast Inn is stunning. Beautifully appointed tables compete with the mouthwatering smells from the kitchen. Eric is an accomplished chef worthy of a five-star designation. As you leave your visit here you will feel refreshed and renewed. Hummingbird Inn definitely deserves a "must visit" recommendation.

Great photo in the front and parking is good

My friend had her wonderful wedding here last fall, this place is home away from home. We had so much with the owner and loved the property. Everyone felt comfortable and the owner of the property officiate the wedding. We had great photo ops in the Inn, the weather was great. It was hard to leave even when the weekend was over. This is a great getaway location for anything your heart desires. I love you can have an event here and make it your own.

Yummy

Sat outside in the early morning and watched the sun rise over a cove. Took out kayaks and paddleboards in the afternoon, and then had a drink. Ate dinner one night at the restaurant, and it was good. The breakfasts were fresh-cooked each morning, and substantial. They have a Keurig and other free drinks 24/7, which is good for me because I wake up before dawn. We did have a couple of minor problems, but the staff took care of them immediately and without any fuss. I really appreciate that type of service because often you get a reluctant and slow response, or the hotel doesn't have the resources to fix the problem. If there's one thing to warn about, it's that The Oaks is heavily into the wedding business, and that drives its entire strategy. So you can't get a room on a weekend if there's a wedding booked, and you can't get into the restaurant for dinner, either. And thus on the nights when you can get into the restaurant, it's typically full because folks from the nearby towns like to come, plus the hotel guests. If you see a complaint on Yelp, most likely it's due to the rather limited access to the restaurant and the weird rules about when it's available. In sum, this is an expensive place, but it's worth it for a quiet, romantic, scenic getaway.

Upon arrival we were given a tour of the hotel which included the bar and restaurant. Room was very spacious and clean, plenty of drawer storage space but not a lot of closet space. Bathroom was gorgeously designed, opened, and had very nice heated floors! The bed was also super comfortable. Can hear music from the restaurant downstairs, would definitely recommend bringing a white noise machine. Breakfast is chef made & included in your stay, which was so convenient & delicious!! The hotel is around a 10 min drive to St. Michael's. On our last night we got stuck on the western side of the Bay Bridge & had to detour around the Chesapeake. We called the hotel & they graciously gave us a late check out the following afternoon. Staff is very attentive & kind! We will definitely be back in the peak season!!

I wasn't sure what to expect since it appeared to be in the middle of an extremely small town but not the usual B&B that you find in these rural Eastern Shore areas. Gorgeous tree lined and winding roads on the way in, bayside homes with tons of land, horse farms; everything you'd imagine a postcard to look like. We encountered about 20 deer bounding in front of us and luckily we were only going 3mph and able to stop. It was unlike anything we've ever seen. The land is protected and wildlife such as rabbits, geese and white tail run freely to the waters edge and back into the woods. Upon arrival, we toured the rooms and grounds. The property itself has one conference room and flexible small group event spaces designed to facilitate group discussion and reflection. Each of the 25 sleeping rooms has its own distinct design, simple and indicative of the region. Some rooms have porches and many face the water. It's awesome just to sit and listen to the water. There are no televisions in the rooms, so come prepared to RELAX and UNPLUG! The living and game room were comfortable and relaxing and do feature a television as does the small gym. The GM is gracious and hospitable and lives on the grounds and easily accessible. I will say for the city slickers and those unfamiliar with the area, do not expect a high end, boutique B&B catering to couples and others looking strictly for a getaway for the weekend. This functional venue and its space is designed and ideal for small social, civic, church and gov't groups. The grounds are shared with the Trinity Academy, a group of students completing a 9 month spiritual fellowship. The students make up most of the staff. It's great for off site retreats and brainstorming sessions with teams and leaders. Seems great for family events such as small and intimate vow renewal and weddings who want the feel of a B&B but need something a bit larger (keep in mind, there are 25 sleeping rooms). The city is small but within close proximity to St. Michaels and Easton. After my weekend, I decided to really start focusing on what's important and trying my best to SLOW down and appreciate the smaller things. It really does only take a couple days away from it all to see the difference a change of pace really makes. My husband commented the time seemed much slower, the days longer. Don't we all want need that sometimes!
