We had an epic stay, even with some fog & a closed pool. We had a wonderful room with a gas fireplace and a view of the water. The bathroom was spacious, with a soaking tub & separate shower. The plush bathrobes & slippers were a nice touch. Our outside patio had a table with chairs & awning that can be opened with a remote. We had a mini fridge that was hidden under a counter. The coffee maker was nice. We requested a tea kettle too. The special touches (packets of honey, complimentary coffee & tea in the lobby & bottled water, loaned umbrellas) really added to our stay. The ironing board and hair dryer were convenient. I forgot toiletries. All you have to do is ask and the front desk staff will give you a toothbrush & toothpaste. The valet staff provide rides to town. Restaurants and stores are so close that you can walk or ride one of the Inn's bikes. The grounds are beautiful. I bet this property is amazing during the summer. There is a "resident" Heron that makes appearances. We saw him while taking a walk. Seating areas are all over the property. We enjoyed the fire pits. During the holidays, the decorations add cheer. When guests check in, a welcome packet includes a list of daily activities. The calendar is also on your television screen. Heather made our stay extraordinary. She even escorted us to the room when I wanted to see it before unpacking. Ryan was kind and gave tips on what to see in town. Jay gave the 5pm welcome toast in the library (where there is a hidden door) and shared history about the Inn. The guests weren't in a hurry to leave. Ellie loaned us games from the giant inventory. Mason gave us extra bottled water & shared more details about the property. Daniel answered questions earlier in the week. Every employee was great about making guests feel important. We had lunch at Purser's Pub on the main floor. It is cozy and fun. I suggest looking at hours of when things close. The gift shop closes at 5pm. It is tiny and has limited items. The Star restaurant serves breakfast (seating ends promptly at 10:30am). Turn down service ( 5p-9p ) includes home made cookies made daily. We savored every moment of our visit. Tip: Bring Tervis cups for the room. The tiny cups provided weren't sufficient. If something happens, allow the team to make things right. We had a hiccup in the bathroom & it was fixed while we had lunch. I have seen the Inn many times while riding a boat. We watched "Wedding Crashers" after we got home to look for the Inn on film.

This resort is by far the best experience I've ever had. I can't recall exactly how we stumbled upon this place.... I think it started with a bet I had with my boyfriend about where whenever favorite movies wedding crashers was filmed. I had always thought that it had to of been in Nantucket or some thing up north and upon googling it we figured out that a lot of it was actually filmed in MD!!! Being from Virginia; MD was so close that we just simply had to look into that. Online and some of the YouTube videos about the location made it clear that this was some thing we had to see for ourselves. I was celebrating my 29th birthday, and I decided that a little getaway trip would be exactly the way to ring it in. I was really impressed online and even with the concierge over the phone. I was able to see the options for activities and amenities and quickly called to reserve a sail boat tour. It seemed reasonable for a sailboat sunset tour $100 a person. I booked that for myself and my boyfriend. Upon checking in, the staff was so professional and courteous. We had asked if we could possibly check in early and they were completely able to do that for us. We booked a beautiful room with an ocean view. The room itself was just the right size and had an amazing view to the boat dock, which was just a hop and a skip from the rear entrance of the resort. Our experience was at 4pm. We lined up and to my surprise nobody else showed up for our tour.....it hadn't dawned on me yet but ON TOP of an already perfect stay my boyfriend decided to plan a private sailboat tour PROPOSAL!!!!!! It still feels like a dream. The whole inn staff was in on it. He had been calling for weeks to make sure everything was just right...and above all....a total surprise. And it really was. The inn recommended the best photographer and the best places for our special dinner. Apart from this incredible moment I will never forget, the staff really went above and beyond all weekend. In a hurry to pack and anxious to start the celebration, I had forgotten a toothbrush and needed a bottle stopper for our celebratory champagne. Quick call to room service and the most high quality items were brought in a jiffy. Robes were exchanged daily and the room was always kept tidy. This place is the epitome of class and elevated customer experience. I truly cannot say this enough, it's 1000% worth every penny. We booked 2 weeknights (cheaper rate) and one weekend night. Highly recommend considering that to cut costs where u can. It was nice when the hotel wasn't at capacity to have so much to ourselves. Serene views, open fire pits, romantic walks, this place delivers in ways I never even knew possible. Also make sure you take advantage of the calendar of free activities offered to guests. We did a paint and sip taught by a great art teacher, a historic/ghost kayak tour, and many other offerings. BMWs with the inn at Perry cabin escorted us into town every night. Bicycles for rent to take a little stroll into the town. If you have a special occasion, or just a getaway. Look no further.

Beautiful spot to get a drink and sit out back! They have a free champagne toast at 5pm where they also talk about the history of Perry Inn.

We loved our stay and even if the weather didn't hold up, our room was perfect. Especially loved the extra amenities such as cotton pads and Qtips of which I forgot to bring. Highly recommend and a great value for such a beautiful area Will definitely return Thank u!!

Absolutely relaxing place. If you want to be away from work, noise and just need some meditative quiet vacation, this is the place. 1. People are super nice here 2. The view is very good and quiet 3. Grounds aren't that big but well kept and cozy 4. Love the glass buildings for isolated dinner 5. The town close by is dead dead during the week but becomes rather bustling during the weekend. During the dead week days, If you are not white as in race, would not recommend venturing in this town alone. I was scared for my safety and my child as everyone looks at you and follows you with their gaze, creepy! I would recommend just staying at the Inn grounds and leave this town which you must drive through right away or maybe walk with a guy or in a large group or a concealed carry, whichever is an option for you. Despite the goodness of the Inn, the town it is in is very racially unaccepting. Don't forget this fact.

In October, my mom and I enjoyed a weekend at this beautiful resort. It was my first time in St Michael's and will certainly not be my last at the Inn. The grounds are beautiful! So exquisite that my mom and I walked the grounds each day of our stay. And, each day we found something new to delight our senses!! We loved it so much, we took advantage of touring the grounds with the horticulturalist, Lisa. LOVED HER! We asked all of our questions about our own gardens and learned so much about the care and attention given to the seasonal updates done at the Inn. We ate breakfast each morning and one (high price) dinner at the restaurant; we ate dinner our first night at the pub - all great food! We would skip dinner in the restaurant next time and opt for a place in town (walking distance). Our housekeeper was Amber. She was very kind and left us personal notes and treats each night. I know this place is likely hard to book in the summer months - so worth it!

From the moment you slide down the driveway into the architectured arboretum entry, your arrival literally announced through a sonorous bell ring, the Inn seeks to challenge you to resist its charm, thoughtfulness, and comfort. Many businesses will say they treat every customer with special service; this is the first time I have encountered a business that genuinely made that experience a reality. The website is thorough and easy to navigate, with clear pricing and options for rooms throughout the year, transparently showing updated offers, and, as soon as I confirmed a reservation, I was sent an online catalog with deeper information about their services and amenities. There are many good nuggets of information on the Inn online and worth the research to find videos, articles, and podcast interviews through the years to get a sense of the rich atmosphere that envelopes you within. I had been tracking reviews heavily and was disturbed to see someone just before our own visit claim they had been mistreated due to being gay. As a woman with a trans woman partnering on this visit, I can say I wondered regularly if they had mistaken me for some ultra celebrity- but in fact it seems to be simply The Way of the Inn to make things easy and beyond comfortable. I called ahead a few times with specific questions on activities and rooms and given thorough answers every time, with follow ups and total access to anything I showed interest in. Which doesn't ignore reality- while the Inn was almost at full capacity, I rarely saw more than 40 people together at any one time, and it felt easy to be socially distant and like it was a private intimate hideaway. The majority is the population you would still expect to see: some families with small kids, some baby-mooners, many couples of all ages, all drifting around. People with canes can probably get through without trouble, but anyone with greater mobility issues will probably not: the Inn is still centurues old and many paths are gravel or stairs or too small for a wheelchair. The only times I sensed a normal hotel feel were during the high dinner hours. I was surprised at how easy and welcome everyone was to take any small opportunity to chat and enjoy small talk- it was like being at an adult summer camp where the main activity was lounging. After the bell rings you in, at reception you receive a branded zippered pouch with your current itinerary, keycards, map, and events schedule. Our check-in was less than half an hour delayed but we were gifted drink comps to use at the bar for the wait, a delightful extra perk to start our trip. I was impressed at how regularly and fully they updated their activities- it is kept at the front desk, the gym, and on the tv (though not very easily viewed there). Nightly turndown service was fresh water bottles and a variety of cookies. We often passed the cleaning staff in the room, and they were just as informed and happy to answer questions as the front desk. Stewards were constantly at the entryway and rushed to open doors at any convenience. Everything lives up to and surpasses what you expect- the views, full of the constant St. Michaels wharf and yet ever-changing views with the clouds and sun, sumptuous rooms, inspired and rich food, fun bubbly cocktails, stocked gift shop. It delivers every promise in a quiet unassuming way as a true oasis.

It's inside three historic buildings along the main street near the very posh Inn at Perry Cabin. The main building used to be a schoolhouse. Here's my overnight experience. 1) Check-In: The hotel communicated with me via text with clear instructions on how to check-in. I parked in the main building's lot and checked in inside their cafe/shop. My room with a king-sized bed was in The Brick House across the street from the main building. Even with a short line, I was in my room within minutes. 2) Rooms: My room came with a shared balcony overlooking the main street, a little fireplace, a comfy king-sized bed, good shower water pressure, towels, an iron and board, a TV, and free water and chips. The minimalist farmhouse look plays well inside the room. There are plenty of outlets and a shelf for my belongings. Two books came in the room for light reading. 3) Space: The main building has a little shop with local products, snacks, and more. There's also a coffee shop and their restaurant- Ruse. 4) Amenities: Each building has a free parking lot for guests. Breakfast is included each morning as are snacks in the room. Every evening, you can pick up a free s'more kit and roast marshmallows in the back firepit. The hotel offers free yard games and bikes for guests to use. 5) Service: The woman behind the front desk was friendly and helpful! Other reviews noted this, but the walls are thin. I could hear everything the guests next door to me were saying and doing- doors slamming, talking, everything.

The main building is cute, with a lovely sundry shop and the hotel's restaurant, Ruse. We stayed in the building across the street. The room was fine, albeit small. I think I was expecting it to be more luxe. I really enjoyed the shower and the fireplace, which they had just turned on for the season. We noticed the vents were dirty and the filters needed cleaning, so even though everything else appeared clean, who knows what else they are missing. The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. I appreciated the snacks and water. There was no sound proofing in the building, as I could hear doors slamming and conversations all night. And, a staff member walked into our room as we were getting settled. I definitely used my door jammer/alarm that night, because that was not good. The door didn't have an internal latch, peep hole, or do not disturb sign. However, this building was only accessible by keycard, which was good. Breakfast is included. There are pastry, granola, and yogurt options, plus coffee (they use Ceremony) and juice. I loved the savory biscuit, but get there early for that. I'd return, though I'd book a better room class than standard king, and perhaps that would improve my experience. However, my partner would not return. I hope they act upon their areas of improvement.

She has great suggestions for what to do in St. Michael's. Breakfast was set up beautifully in the morning and cooked to order. Portions were huge if you wanted them. We are lighter eaters and once I told her that she gave us perfect smaller portions, but if you want a big breakfast you will not be disappointed here. The inn only has about eight rooms, and each is different. Ours was very comfortable with flowers, art and antiques wherever I looked. There's central air and the softest towels I think I've ever used. She lets you keep stuff in the fridge and even said we could use her laundry when my fiancé sat on something and messed up his pants. We had leftovers when we needed to leave and she gave us a styrofoam cooler to take with us... that will be used a lot this summer, I'm sure. The location is walking distance to most things in town, so while there is off street parking, we walked most of the time. You can't go wrong here with Aida's Victoriana Inn! Note, though, a lot of businesses and restaurants in town are operating at partial capacity or reduced hours, or are closed due to Covid 19. This has nothing to do with the Victoriana Inn, but it is worth calling ahead if you have specific things you want to do while in town to make sure they're available. We had to shift some dining plans but it was a last minute getaway and we didn't care all that much. It a worked out but if you have your heart set on something, check in advance to make sure you'll be able to do it.

Upon arrival, Janet takes you into the beautifully decorated parlor room where you fill out forms for when and what you want for breakfast each morning. She had a different menu for each day of our stay. She then gave us a tour of the home while taking us to our room, the Harrison room, which was located on the 2nd floor. There are only three guest rooms, two of which are located at the 2nd floor and the other on the 3rd floor. Janet has done a wonderful job of decorating this very old home and we enjoyed our stay in the lovely and comfortable Harrison room. The room is equipped with a queen sized bed, a sitting area, fireplace, HDTV, coffee maker, and a private bathroom. The wood burning fireplace was all set, so all we had to do was light it. Being the middle of winter, we lit the fire each night. The bathroom sink is small, but there is a built-in open medicine cabinet where you can store your toiletry items. Close the bathroom door and flip on the heater, and the bathroom will be nice and toasty for yourself! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed each of our breakfasts. Both days, we started with fresh fruit, which came with a little scoop of raspberry sherbet. Our first breakfast consisted of french toast with sausage on the side and on the second morning, we had waffles with bananas. You have your choice of coffee, teas, and juices. She also has an assortment of DaVinci syrups to add to your coffee if you like. Breakfast was always ready at the time we specified each morning, and we got to enjoy our breakfast while sitting next to a roaring fire. The dining room consists of one round table, so you would be potentially eating with others if other guests picked a breakfast time the same or close to what you picked. Free WiFi is provided, but I found it to be slow much of the time. I think the issue had to do with where the access point is located. I had a fairly weak WiFi signal from the room on the second floor, but things improved somewhat when I sat in the parlor room. Ultimately it wasn't a real big deal for me as my device had a cellular signal and I wound up using that most of the time. The B&B is located just off a side street in downtown St. Michaels and we simply walked into town to go shopping. You are also very close to the Maritime Museum. Only street parking is available around the house. Being the dead of winter, we had no difficulty parking. I would say watch out for the no parking signs as I accidentally wound up illegally parking the first night. Fortunately a neighbor told me before a cop discovered it! This B&B accepts cash or check only and you do have to pay 50% at the time of reservation. I would have preferred that credit cards were accepted. In summary, Dr. Dodson house provided my wife and I and very relaxing weekend getaway with delicious breakfasts, and this is exactly what we were looking for. If we ever find ourselves back in St. Michaels, we will definitely look to see if there is availability at Dr. Dodson's house!!

Janet was most accommodating and runs a top notch operation. The rooms were clean, well decorated, and comfortable. Despite being a historic home, the Dr. Dodson House has all the modern conveniences one would expect (free WiFi, central air, flat screen TV with plenty of channels, modern bathroom). The breakfasts were a particular highlight and the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploring St. Michaels. Would definitely return in the future.

Of course, Saint Michaels and the Miles River are famous for the Log Canoe races, which date back to the 1800s. The Inn is situated in Saint Michaels harbor, with amazing views and surrounded by restaurants and boats. However, what we found most interesting was the charm of our room. Each room is named after one of the Log Canoes that still race to this day. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Magic room, the boat that happens to be skippered by the owner of the Inn (and boat yard next door). The rooms aren't large, but the attention to detail and the historical photos and images and furnishings show that the owners care about providing a unique experience that you can't get in any other place in Saint Michaels. Our room had beautiful antiques, but also looked brand new and had everything you would want in a modern hotel. We have been to Saint Michaels many times, and for the most part, you want to be out on the town or in the water. The Log Canoe Inn gave us a historical perspective of where we are, with a great view too! If we are able to get in later this year, we will stay there again.
