Morning two eggs or pumpkin pancakes. Both were great. Only negative was the shower in our room. It was a stall shower, which we knew, but the water pressure was terrible. It also took about 10 minutes to come to a warm temp, I felt bad running the water that long. All and all great stay. I'd 100% suggest this place for a weekend getaway.

Before we left I planned a surprise sailing cruise for my fiancé and Aida left a sweet note about the gift from me and vouchers for complimentary gelato around the corner for us. She is so accommodating even when a few little things didn't go as planned for us. (Car trouble, weather... not her doing at all but she made them easier to manage.) She has great suggestions for what to do in St. Michael's. Breakfast was set up beautifully in the morning and cooked to order. Portions were huge if you wanted them. We are lighter eaters and once I told her that she gave us perfect smaller portions, but if you want a big breakfast you will not be disappointed here. The inn only has about eight rooms, and each is different. Ours was very comfortable with flowers, art and antiques wherever I looked. There's central air and the softest towels I think I've ever used. She lets you keep stuff in the fridge and even said we could use her laundry when my fiancé sat on something and messed up his pants. We had leftovers when we needed to leave and she gave us a styrofoam cooler to take with us... that will be used a lot this summer, I'm sure. The location is walking distance to most things in town, so while there is off street parking, we walked most of the time. You can't go wrong here with Aida's Victoriana Inn! Note, though, a lot of businesses and restaurants in town are operating at partial capacity or reduced hours, or are closed due to Covid 19. This has nothing to do with the Victoriana Inn, but it is worth calling ahead if you have specific things you want to do while in town to make sure they're available. We had to shift some dining plans but it was a last minute getaway and we didn't care all that much. It a worked out but if you have your heart set on something, check in advance to make sure you'll be able to do it.

The renovated BnB was nicely decorated with lovely antiques and provided loads of amenities. However, their caring attitudes made all the difference. I relaxed after walking in the front door. I had visited St. Michaels before and Oxford is a few miles down the road and is a much quieter gem of a place to visit. Combsberry Inn has a long, tree lined driveway which is the first indication that you are visiting an old, special place. The house was built in the 1700's and all of the rooms have a beautiful view of the water. We stayed in the Oxford Cottage which is a separate building aptly nicknamed, "the dollhouse". It is the only pet-friendly accommodation but I am happy that's where we stayed because it was adorable and classy at the same time. We had a wood-burning fireplace with a starter log and more wood on the patio. There is a nice jacuzzi for two and vases with fresh flowers throughout the cottage. The bedroom is in the loft so it's only a full size bed but it's cozy. My only minor gripe is that the bed was too firm for my tastes, but my husband had no complaints. There are windows everywhere for great breezes. There is also a kitchen with a stove for any cooking you may want to do, a small fridge, and a microwave. You can sit on your patio and gaze at the water or walk down to the dock to look at the nesting ospreys (really!). Our dogs really loved running around the backyard and sleeping by the fireplace. They also have some books that we used and it was nice to disconnect with no tvs around. Best of all, breakfast and coffee is delivered to your doorstep at 9 am so you have no reason to get up early. We had homemade cinnamon buns, yogurt, and fresh fruit. I hope to come back sometime when the canoes and kayaks are ready for use to check out the beautiful waterways. The Robert Morris Inn is only a 5 minute drive away and is a great place to grab a romantic dinner. FYI - if you hear any crazy "screams" in the middle of the night, you are hearing the foxes! We saw a fox jump in front of our car too - so be careful driving around at night.

First off the staff is wonderfully pleasant - happy to answer any and all questions and very accessible without being overbearing. Because there was no one else at the inn they upgraded us from the one-bedroom cottage to the two-bedroom carriage house, free of charge. They are pet friendly and our little mutt certainly loved running around the extra space as well as the huge grounds. The house itself was the perfect eastern shore experience; country-quaint meets modern convenience. There was a fully upgraded kitchen, a large living room with gas fireplace, half bathroom, and a formal dining area. Each bedroom (which are located on opposites sides of the house, great for couples or families!) has it's own gas fireplace, four post king bed and bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The highlight, in my opinion, is the floor to ceiling windowed doors across the living room that give you a beautiful view of the grounds leading right up to the water. The technology offerings are low (an old tv without cable and dvd player provide the living room entertainment while their is only wireless internet available in the main house library) it is absolutely perfect for a "get-away-from-it-all" style vacation. In the morning the staff brings a basket with breakfast - muffins, bread pudding, smoothies and orange juice. While we came here on a deal, the regular prices are great for the experience and privacy you get (395 for the cottage or 700 for the full carriage house). We look forward to returning when the weather picks up a bit so we can take advantage of swimming and kayaking right off the property.

The owner, Janet, was very helpful both before us picking this B&B and during our entire stay. Our stay was from Fri-Sun in the middle of winter and we wound up being the only guests in the house that weekend, which was nice for us. Upon arrival, Janet takes you into the beautifully decorated parlor room where you fill out forms for when and what you want for breakfast each morning. She had a different menu for each day of our stay. She then gave us a tour of the home while taking us to our room, the Harrison room, which was located on the 2nd floor. There are only three guest rooms, two of which are located at the 2nd floor and the other on the 3rd floor. Janet has done a wonderful job of decorating this very old home and we enjoyed our stay in the lovely and comfortable Harrison room. The room is equipped with a queen sized bed, a sitting area, fireplace, HDTV, coffee maker, and a private bathroom. The wood burning fireplace was all set, so all we had to do was light it. Being the middle of winter, we lit the fire each night. The bathroom sink is small, but there is a built-in open medicine cabinet where you can store your toiletry items. Close the bathroom door and flip on the heater, and the bathroom will be nice and toasty for yourself! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed each of our breakfasts. Both days, we started with fresh fruit, which came with a little scoop of raspberry sherbet. Our first breakfast consisted of french toast with sausage on the side and on the second morning, we had waffles with bananas. You have your choice of coffee, teas, and juices. She also has an assortment of DaVinci syrups to add to your coffee if you like. Breakfast was always ready at the time we specified each morning, and we got to enjoy our breakfast while sitting next to a roaring fire. The dining room consists of one round table, so you would be potentially eating with others if other guests picked a breakfast time the same or close to what you picked. Free WiFi is provided, but I found it to be slow much of the time. I think the issue had to do with where the access point is located. I had a fairly weak WiFi signal from the room on the second floor, but things improved somewhat when I sat in the parlor room. Ultimately it wasn't a real big deal for me as my device had a cellular signal and I wound up using that most of the time. The B&B is located just off a side street in downtown St. Michaels and we simply walked into town to go shopping. You are also very close to the Maritime Museum. Only street parking is available around the house. Being the dead of winter, we had no difficulty parking. I would say watch out for the no parking signs as I accidentally wound up illegally parking the first night. Fortunately a neighbor told me before a cop discovered it! This B&B accepts cash or check only and you do have to pay 50% at the time of reservation. I would have preferred that credit cards were accepted. In summary, Dr. Dodson house provided my wife and I and very relaxing weekend getaway with delicious breakfasts, and this is exactly what we were looking for. If we ever find ourselves back in St. Michaels, we will definitely look to see if there is availability at Dr. Dodson's house!!

The rooms were clean, well decorated, and comfortable. I doubt any of the other places have such a great view! 2) Kayaks, canoe, and bikes available for guest use -- no extra cost! 3) You're free to laze about anywhere on the beautifully landscaped yard. 4) You can fish from the private dock, and the innkeeper will help you "chicken neck" for crabs, if you want. 5) Joan, the innkeeper, makes a mean omelette and awesome German pancakes! 6) Speaking of Joan, she's a sweetie! So wonderful to talk to! 7) Very quiet area. Not right in town, so you don't get all the road noise. We weren't there to watch TV. 3) If you don't want to take a short walk or bike ride into town, you'd be better off staying in town. We enjoyed the walk in -- not far for us at all! 4) Not many rooms -- only 3. But if you want to stay someplace quiet, this shouldn't be a problem. 5) 2 of the rooms share a bathroom. Not a big deal if you are staying with family or close friends. If you are a couple, there is one room available with a private bath. 6) Bare bones amenities in the bathroom, but more than adequate and comfortable.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon my husband I enjoyed lunch at The Robert Morris Inn. It was very quiet with only one table seated inside the table and a few small parties seated on the patio. The upside is that it was a leisurely and relaxing experience but if you are looking for energy and people watching, this isn't the place, at least not for lunch. My husband had the salmon entree and I had the fish and chips. Both were good - about on par with good pub fare or a bit better. Our server was the only one working and she did a great job making the long trek from the kitchen to the front porch where we, and other parties, were seated. Sitting on the porch we had lovely views of the Tred Avon River. It was a quaint experience. We couldn't help but notice that The Robert Morris Inn is for sale. Hopefully the new owners will be able to refresh it a bit to attract the next generation while of course maintaining the historic integrity of the 300+ year old building.

There's no elevator, and the staff watched indifferently as I struggled to get my 77-year-old body and suitcase up the narrow landings. It's right on the Eastern Shore's main highway, so be prepared for lots of traffic noise. I left an early flight, so I had to check out at 4:15 AM. Evidently they hadn't turned on the hot water yet. Showering was a real adventure! Other than that it's pretty much your standard overpriced tourist hotel. But it's cheaper than some others.
