The inn was absolutely spectacular, the service was impeccable. My daughter wasn't feeling well , the market was closed and they opened it just for us. The ladies at the market are welcoming and the breakfast sandwiches are tasty . Thanks again for making our wedding stay wonderful!!!!

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views and sunsets that made every photo look like a dream. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, and the setting added a magical backdrop to a day we'll never forget. But what truly made the experience exceptional was the staff. Sharon and Nina, our coordinators, went above and beyond at every single turn. Their warmth, professionalism, and calm energy made the entire planning process feel smooth and stress free. On the day of the wedding, they executed flawlessly ; every moment flowed effortlessly, and we were able to fully enjoy ourselves knowing we were in such good hands. Our guests are still raving about the food! We were told everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch, with attentive, friendly staff who made everyone feel taken care of. Whether it was a quick adjustment, a last-minute detail, or simply making sure we had a glass of champagne in hand, the team anticipated every need with a smile. We are beyond grateful for the care, intention, and joy this venue brought to our big day. If you're considering getting married here...please DO IT! Much better than any restaurant I've been to in Annapolis or on KI. A generous pour. The building itself is nice enough, tasteful and clean but low ceilings but nice lawn right on the water. Only complaint is the main meat course was served lukewarm each time we've gone.

Located on Kent Island overlooking the Chesapeake, this is the perfect getaway. It took us about an hour to drive there from downtown (with no traffic) and was easy to find on a lightly traveled road a few miles from the main highway. The house is massive, but there are only two rooms available for guests. We recommend the Osprey room, which overlooks the bay. In the morning, you wake to a glorious sunrise on the bay. This is soon followed by breakfast carefully prepared by Maria and Ed Peffly, the owners. Each morning we had fresh fruit, and coffee followed by a main breakfast. One morning it was a salmon frittata the next is was blueberry and banana pancakes. The only down side of breakfast was having to muster uncomfortable conversation with the other couple there who were on a romantic getaway. But that is par for the course at a B+B. During the day we walked around in the nearby Terrapin State Park and explored the island. We were there in March, and the usual Kent island riff raff were not to be found. In the evenings we sat under the stars in the hot tub and let the stress slough away. We basically had the run of the house, and although there was one other couple there, we never saw them except at breakfast. The grounds were amazing and at night a herd (15 or so) deer can be seen munching away on the grass. There was a pool, but it wasn't open when we were there. They have a gym and game room that we used once (Who goes to a B&B to use the gym?) What else can I say, for $160 a night (in the off season, you get a wonderful room overlooking the bay, a great breakfast and seclusion from the real world. If I was to conjure criticisms, I would say that the rooms had a bit too much potpourri for our taste and that some of the decor was on the Laura Ashley side, but that is really being picky. This is a real gem. NOTE: I was reluctant to post this review for one simple reason--people will go to and love this place and we'll never be able to book a room again. But we liked the owners so much that we figured that keeping it a secret wouldn't be fair. Let me be frank. By people I mean you loathsome SUV driving butt cracks that make it necessary for rational people to escape DC. Please go to Disney.

To the left and right you and see picturesque views of the Chesapeake Bay. In front of you, you see a massive mansion-esk Bed & Breakfast that was built with extra #love by it's owner. Small architectural flourishes lend to the owners strong eye for aesthetic. A giant white tent 50 yards from the ceremony is where your guests will be partying, and a large stone patio with high bar tables around a small pool is where your guests will enjoy their cocktail hour. A separate small building off to the side houses fully plumbed in bathrooms with granite countertops make this luxurious experience continue in all facets and faucets! Hahahahhahaha - I'm such a dork. The perfect location for a wedding in every way. I mean... when this bed and breakfast was built, the intention was for it to also being a wedding venue. You can tell as there are ground anchors permanently placed around the pool and yard. Just a top notch place! Also Britny's Wedding gets 5 stars! :)

There's something about the water, the breeze, and the quiet charm of this area that settles your spirit in the best way. A good friend of mine lives on Kent Island, and honestly, the best way to visit Bridges is by boat. Pulling up to a restaurant by water just hits differently. But don't worry you can absolutely drive here too, and the experience is just as lovely. Restaurants by the water are always a plus, but Bridges brings more than a view. It brings that easy, coastal energy that makes you want to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and enjoy where you are. The kind of place where good food, good company, and good scenery all meet at the same table. Bridges Restaurant brings exactly what you hope for when you escape the city for a moment of calm; beauty, peace, and a reminder that life feels better by the water. Service is always great! I literally said this past weekend that this has to become a monthly occurrence! It's too good and too beautiful to just come once a year! Let's get into it! Stuffed Pepper - Amazing!! Thanks to the waitress for hyping these up. Seafood Tacos - Delicious! I would definitely get these again and would try the Mahi Mahi kind or whatever fish they have! So freaking good! Brought Hawaii Maui vibes back. Ancho Rockfish - Fish was excellent, grits were not a fave. Watermelon refresher - YES! These are dangerously good! I'll be back! And soon! Cheers! The hostess and waitress were so kind, friendly, and accommodating! They brought out a water bowl for our dog. We ordered the whole oysters flash fried (special of the day), the shrimp and grits, and the shrimp salad sandwich with island fries (upgraded for 3.50). The oysters were fantastic. Freshly fried and super juicy. We loved them. Our sandwich and shrimp&grits took a while to get to us, but worth the wait. The shrimp in the grits were massive. My husband couldn't finish it all. The shrimp salad was stellar. And the brioche bun went so well. I will say the island fries had a spice we didn't love. The queso dip it came with was good. Didn't love the chili aioli it came with. It was weirdly sweet. I'd probably stick to the regular fries next time. Service is a little slower than were use to, but it definitely fit the vibe of the area. Just low key and relaxing. We would definitely come back!

I even saw hot sauce!! * the tablecloths and decorations were done so well, please give the person who decorated kudos...the eggs with candy on the tables really showed yall care!! * I appreciated the stations for dirty dishes placed on the side, at doors. I used them several times to place our tables dirty plates. * servers were always walking around either cleaning helping replenish or simply moving along. No one was ever just standing around. * appreciated the music selection, and the volume was PERFECT...low enough to hear but not drown out voice conversations. * perfect LIGHTING too, no weird artificial lights, loved the setting VERY well done. SO well organized. I don't drink so I hope the bar was just as well done. I needed ice and the bartenders were very helpful. * they could use more dishes/plateware & silverware, logistics issue :) ...at least 3x I had to get a plate from the omelette station :( 10/10 experience overall!!! Beautiful to See, Horrible to Stay At…read more We stayed at Kent Island Resort for a family wedding, along with many other family members and friends who stayed on the property for multiple nights. The property itself is beautiful, and the ceremony and reception spaces were very nice. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended for us. At nearly $400 per night, I expected accommodations that felt far more luxurious than a typical hotel. Instead, we found paper-thin walls, large gaps around room doors, and constant hallway noise. In some rooms, the gaps were large enough to see through when the doors were closed. Every conversation, door closing, or bump against a wall sounded like it was happening inside the room. The bathrooms had been updated and looked nice, but even the shower door would not stay closed while in use. The biggest issue, however, was the fire alarm system. The first alarm went off while many wedding guests were getting ready. One staff member told a family member that a hot shower had triggered the alarm. Shortly afterward, someone identifying himself as the property manager said that was incorrect and claimed someone had pulled the alarm instead. After about 15 minutes, everyone was allowed back inside because there was no actual fire. While false alarms can happen, the explanations we received were inconsistent and changed depending on who we spoke with. After a long wedding day, reception, and cleanup, most of us finally went to bed around 11:30 p.m. At approximately 1:20 a.m., the fire alarm went off again. Guests poured into the hallways and outside until a staff member informed everyone that evacuation was not necessary. The alarm was extremely loud and disrupted the entire hotel. Unfortunately, the disruptions continued. Around 3:30 a.m., loud music began blasting from the lobby area. Family members went to investigate and found no one at the front desk. A group of teenagers or young adults was playing music loudly, and there appeared to be no staff present to address the situation. The next morning, nearly everyone in our group--including the bride and groom--was discussing the terrible night's sleep and repeated disruptions. Once again, we received different explanations regarding the overnight alarm but no clear answer. During checkout, we asked whether the resort could offer any compensation for the multiple alarms and disturbances. We were told that no refund or credit was available but that we could receive 50% off a future stay. Since none of us had any intention of returning, that offer felt meaningless. After we left, my wife's aunt contacted the Kent Island Fire Department regarding the repeated false alarms. She was told that the department had received numerous complaints about the property and that the Fire Marshal had previously been involved regarding violations. Given our experience, that information was concerning. The wedding venue itself was beautiful, but I cannot recommend staying overnight at this property. If you're looking for accommodations in the area, I would strongly recommend staying at the Hilton, the Hyatt, or the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club instead. At similar price points, I believe they offer a much better guest experience.
