Our room - Touch of Grey - was small but spotless and tastefully appointed. Every employee we interacted with was super friendly and professional. Both buildings are elegant and charmingly historic while also modern and well kept. Location is part of its appeal. Directly next to the Naval Academy and a block from the famous and historic Dock Street. Easy to walk everywhere from here. Parking is tight in this area so access to a private parking lot is key. We hope to return to Annapolis soon and will definitely try to stay here again.

They do a great job making a historic property feel modern with ample outlets and usb ports, a very comfortable bed, and a mini fridge we used to store leftovers and beer. The TVs also have more channels than we ever have had in a hotel but rarely used given all the fun stuff in Annapolis. They also make the hotel accessible with elevators and wheelchair accessible rooms. The staff was also wonderful and accommodated us well by storing our belongings after checkout while we explored the State House on the 5th. We love how much is in a very short walking distance to here. Parking may be expensive but for car free people this is quite easy with commuter busses from DC and Baltimore, local Flixbus from DC and New York, local busses around the clock from Baltimore Light Rail's Cromwell station, as well as ample Ubers and Lyfts that may be cheaper than parking and no need to go past walking distance.

The shampoo and conditioner is in dispensers hanging on the wall that anyone that was here before you could put ANYTHING in! NOT sanitary and the shower has no fan but Everytime the AC kicks on it sounds like a jet taking off in our room. All night you sweat your but off then it kicks on you freeze. They offer a discount for 2 night stands and for being a firefighter but only if you book it directly through them. When I tried to call and book it directly I was forwarded to a call center that knew NOTHING about the hotel!!!! He didn't speak English so he was very hard to understand plus he mumbled!!! Love the town literally hate the hotel!!!

That's nice but, we were still out walking the town and taking in the sights. When we arrived, we felt like she wanted to get going and just get us checked in. No welcome , wine or any frills let's just say. We've never stayed in a B&B like this, EVER! In 45 years of marriage, this is the bottom of the bottom. My husband didn't check reviews. We arrived at 1 to drop off our bags and had to call to be let in. The on site person wasn't on site and we waited about ten mins then decided to leave our bags in the lobby. 2: the on site person was not there at 3:00. We had to wait until about 3:10 then the on site person didn't have their computer to check us in. The on site person didn't know our code for the front door and it took us asking about 4 times to finally get a code to the front door. 3: the house is cold. There are space heaters everywhere in the house, which helps, but I am not paying $400 a night to stay in a cold house. I will not be staying here again.

So it's not quite a hotel but it's also not quite a bed and breakfast, either. What it is, however, is gorgeous. They are still finishing renovations in some parts, but I'm so glad we stayed here. We stayed in the Chase room, and it was fantastic. Elegantly appointed, with lovely touches, like real books on the shelves. The bed is incredibly comfortable, with crisp sheets and supportive pillows. The bathroom is amazing and I loved the tub and shower. Two luggage racks are appreciated, though another waste bin and more outlets would also be nice. It was quite clean, though a more thorough vacuum was needed. The personalized welcome letter was so thoughtful. The main sitting rooms on the first floor are sumptuous and welcoming. All the staff we interacted with were incredibly kind and friendly. We were not informed of renovations, Valet is available, but there is also a parking garage nearby. A lift is available to an accessible room on the main level. When looking for a bespoke stay in Annapolis, 86 State is a fabulous choice.

Of course, Saint Michaels and the Miles River are famous for the Log Canoe races, which date back to the 1800s. The Inn is situated in Saint Michaels harbor, with amazing views and surrounded by restaurants and boats. However, what we found most interesting was the charm of our room. Each room is named after one of the Log Canoes that still race to this day. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Magic room, the boat that happens to be skippered by the owner of the Inn (and boat yard next door). The rooms aren't large, but the attention to detail and the historical photos and images and furnishings show that the owners care about providing a unique experience that you can't get in any other place in Saint Michaels. Our room had beautiful antiques, but also looked brand new and had everything you would want in a modern hotel. We have been to Saint Michaels many times, and for the most part, you want to be out on the town or in the water. The Log Canoe Inn gave us a historical perspective of where we are, with a great view too! If we are able to get in later this year, we will stay there again.

My wife and I were looking for a weekend getaway in St. Michaels and we ended up picking this…read morebeautiful B&B, which is within walking distance of downtown St. Michaels. The owner, Janet, was very helpful both before us picking this B&B and during our entire stay. Our stay was from Fri-Sun in the middle of winter and we wound up being the only guests in the house that weekend, which was nice for us. Upon arrival, Janet takes you into the beautifully decorated parlor room where you fill out forms for when and what you want for breakfast each morning. She had a different menu for each day of our stay. She then gave us a tour of the home while taking us to our room, the Harrison room, which was located on the 2nd floor. There are only three guest rooms, two of which are located at the 2nd floor and the other on the 3rd floor. Janet has done a wonderful job of decorating this very old home and we enjoyed our stay in the lovely and comfortable Harrison room. The room is equipped with a queen sized bed, a sitting area, fireplace, HDTV, coffee maker, and a private bathroom. The wood burning fireplace was all set, so all we had to do was light it. Being the middle of winter, we lit the fire each night. The bathroom sink is small, but there is a built-in open medicine cabinet where you can store your toiletry items. Close the bathroom door and flip on the heater, and the bathroom will be nice and toasty for yourself! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed each of our breakfasts. Both days, we started with fresh fruit, which came with a little scoop of raspberry sherbet. Our first breakfast consisted of french toast with sausage on the side and on the second morning, we had waffles with bananas. You have your choice of coffee, teas, and juices. She also has an assortment of DaVinci syrups to add to your coffee if you like. Breakfast was always ready at the time we specified each morning, and we got to enjoy our breakfast while sitting next to a roaring fire. The dining room consists of one round table, so you would be potentially eating with others if other guests picked a breakfast time the same or close to what you picked. Free WiFi is provided, but I found it to be slow much of the time. I think the issue had to do with where the access point is located. I had a fairly weak WiFi signal from the room on the second floor, but things improved somewhat when I sat in the parlor room. Ultimately it wasn't a real big deal for me as my device had a cellular signal and I wound up using that most of the time. The B&B is located just off a side street in downtown St. Michaels and we simply walked into town to go shopping. You are also very close to the Maritime Museum. Only street parking is available around the house. Being the dead of winter, we had no difficulty parking. I would say watch out for the no parking signs as I accidentally wound up illegally parking the first night. Fortunately a neighbor told me before a cop discovered it! This B&B accepts cash or check only and you do have to pay 50% at the time of reservation. I would have preferred that credit cards were accepted. In summary, Dr. Dodson house provided my wife and I and very relaxing weekend getaway with delicious breakfasts, and this is exactly what we were looking for. If we ever find ourselves back in St. Michaels, we will definitely look to see if there is availability at Dr. Dodson's house!!

The rooms were clean, well decorated, and comfortable. Despite being a historic home, the Dr. Dodson House has all the modern conveniences one would expect (free WiFi, central air, flat screen TV with plenty of channels, modern bathroom). The breakfasts were a particular highlight and the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploring St. Michaels. Would definitely return in the future.
