    Mussels with Frites just OK
    Andy C.

Service sets the tone and service lacked tonight. The restaurant was mostly empty. We were a couple of 2 in the one area by bar. Our server, never checked on us to ask if everything was OK. Forgot a side order, which finally came after I asked him for it and he brought it out after I was done. Very disappointed on overall service based on it being quiet. Mussels terrible, sandy and lacked flavor. Stay away from ordering, you will be disappointed. Caesar salad lacked flavor and any Parmesan cheese. Halibut was very good, spouse really enjoyed it. Lamb was good. Pepper jack creamed corn was served nice and hot with great flavor. Would try it again to try shrimp gumbo, my original thought to order. Went here on a recommendation of a friend that owns restaurants.

We arrived early for our 6:30 reservations so we went to the very lively bar to wait to be seated. There were only 2 seats left, with patrons not only having drinks, but others eating dinner. Once seated at our table in the large dining room, the sound level was a lot lower than I expected, which is always good thing. There were 6 of us and we shared a delicious Crab Dip as well as a Calamari Bowl and a Gambas Ajillo (Spanish-style garlic shrimp, crushed red peppers, Sherry, and toasted Ciabatta.) The entrees ran from Rockfish, to Sea Bass to Crab Cakes. Three of us went for the Tavern Pot Pie. (Braised beef tips, pearl onions, carrots, celery, sweet peas, gruyere cheese, and potato dollop). There were 3 dollops, almost enough to call the dish a Shepard's Pie. Everyone enjoyed their choices. With 2 beers, and a cocktail at the table, the bill per couple before tip came to around $100. A fun and delicious place to end our visit to Maryland.

Now, I always side eye hotel restaurants as being bland and not fun! Not Knoxie's! Located in The Inn at the Cheaspeake Beach Club, Knoxie's Table has a menu to satisfy all appetites. We had to complimentary drink tickets from the hotel so we started with a margarita and the mango cocktail. Both were delicious! For appetizers,, we ordered the Calamari Bowl and Cream of Crab Soup. Now this isn't your average calamari. It has lightly fried vegetables with a balsamic glaze. Very nice done and so flavorful. The soup was nicely balanced and had a decent amount of lump crab. We then ordered our entrees of the Filet Mignon and Chilean Sea Bass with Green Curry. The filet overshadowed the sea bass as it was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and melted in my mouth. The shrimp were very seasoned (which I wasn't expecting). The fish dish was good, but the steak was AMAZING! If you're ever on Kent's Island, give Knoxie's a try!

Shrimp and grits with breaded okra.

This place has a nice ambiance, friendly service and good food and cocktails. Sometimes the seasoning can be off, but only on dishes not local to the area. For example, the shrimp and grits has breaded fried okra, but the breading is not salted and has not flavor.

Delayed review! My parents and I were heading to the Bay Bridge to catch the last summer sunset and wanted to grab dinner first. We got to Hemingways around 5 PM and they already had a 45 minute wait. Luckily, I called Knoxie's and they were able to hold a table outside for us. Success! We had a socially distanced table outside and a super nice waiter. We were in a bit of a rush and he was able to make sure we could order, eat, and pay super quickly. We shared the: -Calamari Bowl: Yum! By bowl, they mean platter. Lots of crispy calamari and the pepperoncini added the perfect touch. -Jumbo Crab Cakes: These were polarizing. I thought the crab flavor was good but my mom thought there was something a little off about them. Either way, not the best crab cakes either of us have ever had. -Daily Special: I think it was the Rockfish but I can't remember. Either way, it was delicious!!! Nice and light with summer cucumbers and tomatoes. Exactly what we needed. -Braised Brussel Sprouts: I'll never say no to brussel sprouts and enjoyed these! There was a bit too much balsamic glaze, but still tasty! We left full and with some calamari leftovers. Rounding up to 4 stars for our helpful server who got us in and out of there within 45 minutes. Thank you!!!

VOTED EASTERN SHORE'S FAVORITE FARM-TO-TABLE RESTAURANT-I would believe this, definitely. Upscale restaurant at The Inn, yet shorts & t-shirts & children are welcome. Food served in up scale manner. Food delicious. And sometimes excellent food cost more, so expect that. I won't go on about all the items the 5 of us ordered. I will post photos & just say everyone was satisfied & happy. We even shared 2 desserts. Our server, Shane, was excellent. Two thumbs up! When you are finished dining, take a walk around The Inn's "botanical gardens." This is a lovely place.

This restaurant was conveniently located inside our resort. The resort was aesthetically appealing and so is this restaurant. It was a rainy evening, so we didn't want to venture outside if we didn't have to. Our servers name was Kim and she was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, humorous, personable and pleasant. Her meal recommendations were spot on. I had this "out of this world" rockfish dish. My wife had crab soup that she couldn't stop raving about. Even the drinks were made to perfection. I enjoyed a few "Tom Collins" that helped me wind down for the evening. Service was quick and we had no complaints. There was live music and the musician was awesome. He played music from various artists and we definitely enjoyed that added feature. I wish I would've got his information. It's rather far but if we ever decide to have a function, we'd definitely consider this guy. The only reason that I did not give this place (5) stars is because it was freezing in the dining area. I really wanted to give Knoxie's 4.9 stars. It's one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. Great place to dine.....you won't be disappointed at all....trust me!

Had dinner here last night with my husband brother and sister-in-law and wasn't as impressed as I expected to be. It's a nice restaurant at a fun resort but the food didn't live up to expectations or for the price. I had the short ribs which eere good but the gravy was so rich and strong I couldn't eat even half of it. I had the creme brulle for dessert which was so sweet I could hardly eat it. My husband had the parmesan crusted chicken which was good but he was disappointed with the peanut butter chocolate pie. I've had heartburn since the meal and felt a bit nauseous last night. Service was ok but slow. Restaurant was packed and really plus. Overall disappointing.

Food here was amazing! The service here was even better than the food, very friendly people. The appetizers we got were calamari bowl, crab dip, and sesame crusted tuna. The food in all the picture were very flavorful. Environment was quiet and calm. Drinks were great too!

We were seated at 3:15 PM on a Friday. There were only three tables occupied and three servers working, so it wasn't even remotely busy. Unfortunately, our server, Sydney, disappeared--twice. After taking our drink order, she vanished for over 16 minutes before the drinks arrived. Then, after dropping off our food, she disappeared for good. We literally had to ask the bus girl, Aliyah, to go look for her. And bless her heart--Aliyah searched upstairs, downstairs, far and near trying to locate our server, but no luck. Meanwhile, the other waitstaff--including a young man working the other tables--were attentive and visible. It was frustrating to watch our table become the exception in what should've been a chill, easy service window. We shared our concerns with Sydney before paying. When I asked where she had gone, she told us she had been busy doing her chores--like cleaning bathrooms and things of that nature. That only added to my concern... If you're cleaning bathrooms in the middle of a shift, should you really be serving food and drinks? To be fair, the food was actually pretty good, which makes this review even more disappointing. I live nearby and usually frequent The Jetty or Libbey's, but I wanted to try something different. Sadly, this wasn't the experience I hoped for-

Nearly 10 mins later, we get our drinks and ask about the price of apps and were told Apps were not $8, and the order was placed. This was frustrating because I def. would have gone with my original idea of a steak taco for $17+ instead of $17+ rockfish tender apps, that I didn't really want upfront. Since we were told apps were likely $8 we decided to just order from that part of the menu to try out different things. Sigh. This place was never really my go to on the Island. I'll be honest I'm still conflicted about this location…read more The good: The food is pretty decent and well prepared. Not amazing, but solid. Decent set of breakfast and lunch options for a counter café. Love the curry chicken salad. The dressing for the southwest chicken salad is not great - I would ask for a different dressing or mix it with some ranch at home. The bad: this place is very Variable in turnaround time and wait time. I've gone when they've been empty and had my food prepared rapidly, but l've also gone when they've been pretty empty and waited what seemed like a long time for a simple order. When they're busy and get in the weeds, the line can stretch out the door. All of this seems odd for a location inside of a hotel/event venue like this. Does the management team not coordinate with the hotel staff to know which weekends are hosting weddings, etc.? They should be prepared for a breakfast rush the Saturday after Friday wedding. And regardless, why are they not adequately staffed on weekends in general? I have been here several times on a weekend and it's always understaffed compared to the number of people waiting for food. Recently I walked in and looked at the line, looked at the staffing, and I just walked out. Today (Friday) I came and was the first person in line, although I think one or two people were waiting on active orders. The only dish I ordered was a Caesar salad with blackened salmon. It took 25 minutes for them to cook a single piece of salmon. People who came and got in line after me and ordered after me had their food made and delivered before I got my food. This was despite having tons of people working every station. This was not a staffing issue, but an inefficiency and poor workflow issue. I don't know exactly what the issue is back there but it's clear they have some significant problems with getting orders out on time - and that is not related to the amount of staff they have. Bottom line: if you come on a weekday or in the off hours for lunch, you're probably going to do fine.
