THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER ...I ordered crabs to be picked up in an hour, I got there, maybe 20 minutes after the hour(beach traffic) the crabs were sold although they told me they would bring them to the car I waited in the car for a few minutes, I had already paid I went back to the crabs they said they had to steam the purpose of ordering them so they could be ready I could pick them up and get back home Asked for refund.....they took my card they swipe my card they gave me a receipt... said I got a cash refund.... Food is good. Service is good. Place looks like any other seafood market. Why a 2 star you ask? 3% service charge for using my credit card. It cost business less than that if they took on the charge. They should just go to cash only. I'll never go there again. You want me to pay for some of your water/electricity too. Raise your price to compensate for your bill. read more

Pretty good no frills lunch stop. We actually had to make TWO U-turns... one to go in and another when we were leaving. But it was worth it. Only an outdoor portapotty and no space to sit inside. They bring you your order to your car. The lunch special crab cake sandwich for 2 people was only a little over $30 and it included a big bag of chips and a drink. Don't forget to ask for a sauce- the sandwich doesn't come with anything except the crabcake in a bun. I got the large lump, a few more shells than my partner said was in his jumbo lump cake. Wasn't much flavor in the cake but it also wasn't about filler and overpowering seasoning which was nice. Would stop here again! read more

I was in town visiting some friends and had a craving for crabs. I called several places and decided to go here. I was not disappointed at all. I purchased the male #2 and they were meaty, heavy and seasoned good. I also ordered a half of pound of shrimp which was good. The price was very reasonable, I will definitely be back. It's a crab shack! Looks like and feels like a road side crab shack. Been trying to find a great crab shack for years but never could find a spot for crabs. Spotted this joint on the other side of the road. I check in to hotel yelped the shack and they was closing in a hour so I drove there. It was 3 miles from hotel Picked the special which was 24 crabs for $30.00 added a jumbo lump crab cake for $16 And some gear so I could get back to the girls room to start cracking. I could only finish 16 crabs and the crab cake sandwich and help up the white flag. Crabs was full and sweet, not a fan of the seasoning, I find it too salty. The crab cake was really good. Let's face it. Seafood is expen$ive everywhere you go. Even where it's plentiful. Anyway, this is totally a no frills, take your crabs and go eat them somewhere else place. What do you get for $21? You get a large lump crab cake on a small but delicious bun, a 2 1/2 oz. bag of Herr Potato chips (any flavor). Hubs got the Old Bay seasoned ones. And you get a 12 oz. Soda any flavor or water bottle. They give you tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. It was amazing! So glad we made the U-turn to this place! read more

Don't assume that this location serves a lesser quality because of its size!! Ahhhh, sooooo tasty!!! Although the drive is about 45 minutes or so, always satisfied with the quality of these delicious crabs. Comparing to other crab spots, the price has been decent. We stopped based on Yelp reviews...and glad that we did! Friendly woman behind the counter had 6 #1 jimmies in a bag, freshly steamed in all of 5 minutes. Price was $22. Probably the best crab cake sandwich I've ever had - WOW! I tried the jumbo size with steamed Silver Queen corn on the cob. Every bite of the sandwich was incredible. The corn was perfect, and it was also really nice how they steamed the corn still in the husk (instead of taking off the husk first and then boiling). The husk and strings came right off easily through this method. There is no seating inside or outside so it's takeaway only. Inside there are some Maryland souvenirs. It's possible to also buy frozen crab cakes to also take away, and they even have little coolers with ice if you need them. Highly recommended! read more

Whenever we are coming from over the bridge we stop here. Now I'm a crab snob...extra large males or better - nothing less. HOWEVER , from Crab Shack I'll eat a mixed dozen. That taste sooooogood and are usually very heavy you won't mind them being small. Trust me. The jumbo lump crab cake sandwich is also amaze ! Sure, seafood is expensive, especially Crab, oh well, deal with it or eat pasta. Their Crab Cake sammich was the best I've ever had. Cooked perfectly, no burnt oil flavor and not over cooked. Met this guy Dwayne in the parking lot while waiting for my order, made my trip from CT even better. Worst crabs I've gotten on the eastern shore. They lie about their sizes and charge you for larger crabs and then mix them with smaller crabs. Gave them two tries, both times the crabs were light and had to throw away bad ones each time. We understand it happens but it's way too frequent with this establishment. Eastern Shore native that has been here plenty since the year they opened but never again. This place became a tourist trap. Our half bushel was cold when handed to me, and half the crabs (no exaggeration) were mealy and smelled of ammonia, as if no one was culling the dead crabs and cooked the dead and live mixed. Have some standards! This is how people get sick if they don't eat crabs often and know any better. Owner Casey Higgins eventually responded to me on Facebook but was all talk and no action when they offered to make it right. They never followed through or responded to me when I tried to get my replacement crabs. Disappointing because this place used to be decent, not the best on the shore but they used to at least have consistent quality. read more

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and they weren't too busy. I was struck by the offer of 2 dozen crabs for $30. This applied to females and smaller males. I ended up getting a dozen each. A fluke. No, not the fish. The way we found it. No ambience at all BUT the best seafood. Generally I am not a fan of crabcakes. But I tried them and they were a 10. Perfect, delicious, moist Lunch for the two of us came to $31. Seems sort of high since we ate in the car Really delicious meal. I have been getting crabs here for as long as I can remember and they have always been good. They are moist, heavy and their crab boil has a great flavor. The only reason they did not get a 5 star rating is that they appear to be on the expensive side compared to other crab shacks in the area. Got 2 dozen #1 males. The crabs were seasoned very nicely. They were a little small and some were light. They made up for it with giving us at least an extra 8-10 crabs! We ate and ate and still have almost a dozen left. I really appreciate that if the crabs are light they compensate by giving more! There is NOTHING better then Maryland crabs in the summer!!! read more
