New to the area came in to eat here. The environment is to die for very cozy. Very welcoming very authentic restaurant, and a home large mansion great for family atmosphere. However, I ordered the crabcakes and they were spoiled so I don't know if it's because everyone else didn't complain that they continue to serve them or if they're just used to serving old food, the chicken pot pie is to die for and I hear the lamb chops are good. They were very apologetic for the crabcakes but I was greatly disappointed because everyone at my table received their food and they bought me out bad food and my whole thing is that when the cook was cooking, it, could they not smell that the crabcakes were bad and they not tell, I don't know I think I'll try it again to see if I can get them up to five stars but even if you just want dessert, this is a great place to hang out get some coffee and dessert. They have one table that has like a bay window, where they have pillows in it, and you can sit in the window and eat at the table which is really really nice and cozy, I think I'm gonna go back. I won't do the crabcakes but I think I'm gonna go back. I was so satisfied with the soup and the wine that it made up for a crabcake.

Wife and I started with the shrimp toast, and it was very good. Shrimp cooked perfect. I would suggest asking for an extra slice of toast to dab up the remaining shallot cream sauce, as it was D-Lish! For dinner we both had the Crab Cake Frites. Excellent! Crab cakes were just that, CRAB, not filler. Asparagus was cooked just the way we like it with a little crunch and the fries...just good style hand cut fries. Perfect meal!! Topped it off with a carrot cake, excellent excellent meal! Price wise- look at it as you are paying for a good quality meal, which in my opinion is always worth it if it is good.

But I have a few caveats: Very pricey: The quality is decent, but the cost is on the high side for what you get. We got the 2 special of the day. My gf and I got the meatloaf sandwich with korean bbq sauce and crab cake sandwich which were $15 each. Both of the sandwiches were good, got good flavor and plenty of crab. The fries were the worse thing I've ever had they were not crispy and mushy texture. Its the saddest fry Ive ever seen. Long wait time: Be prepared to wait. There were 2 servers both handling the inside and outside tables. Not for when you're in a hurry: If you've got limited time, this place is not the best pick the wait and service pace can really drag. If you're looking for a relaxed meal and don't mind spending a little more, Caroline's is pleasant. But if you're on a schedule or want value, you might want to try somewhere else.

The food is always good. We only stop here in the OFF SEASON as it's on the way to Ocean City Maryland. I'm not sure what it's like in the summer, but we've really enjoyed stopping here about 20 times a year. Tip: it's easier to get back on route 404 by going out the exit that's in back of Aldi's. You can get right onto 404 there versus going out the exit that is closer to Walmart, which can be a pain.

Today, I got the tuna wrap with fries and decided to try a cup of chili. The chili is delicious, slightly sweet, yet tangy, with beef, beans and pieces of green pepper. Really good. The tuna wrap was fine, but could have been better. Although I like the idea of grilling the wrap, for me, for the tuna it doesn't work to grill the wrap. The wrap had a burnt flavor that diminished the flavor of the tuna. That was really disappointing. The fries that accompanied the wrap were well prepared (crunchy on the outside, but not dried out). With the chili, it was an awful lot of food. My bad. My partner got the Santa Fe Salad. It looked really good and my partner enjoyed it. I ate one chunk of the grilled chicken and it was tasty and moist. My partner also enjoyed the cup of soup of the day that came with it - Italian Wedding Soup. It looked and tasted legit. Service was friendly and good.

For reservations, they don't use any of the popular reservation platforms, so I called their number to schedule a reservation. Fortunately, I was able to make it for the same day- Friday evening, no less! The restaurant is in a house, and they asked me if we were okay with the second floor (bearing in mind there are stairs). There are two rooms on the second floor with a several tables in each, and there were people, so we weren't isolated. There is also a restroom located on the second floor, so you don't have to go down the stairs to use the restroom. We parked across the street in a public parking lot. We received complimentary (warm) bread and butter! You don't see that much anymore. We started off with drinks. I had the Korean spicy margarita, which I loved, and my husband had the strawberry rhubarb cider, which was also good. The menu offers many choices for both appetizers and entrees. We ordered two appetizers- the Asian beef lettuce wraps (3 lettuce wraps- when you're a party of 2 or 4, that number is annoying!) and the short rib ravioli. Both apps were wonderful. For entrees, don't forget the specials. We ordered the soft-shell crab special and also the duo of duck off the entrees menu. The vegetables in both dishes were fresh, and the sauces were complimentary to the mains. Close to being unable to eat any more, but we simply had to close the fantastic dinner with desserts. I ordered the lemon semi-freddo and my husband ordered the flourless chocolate cake, and both passed the taste test. We were pleased with the attentive service, food, and vibes, and would keep this place in mind when we come back to this area!

The dining room was busy; no host/hostess was present, however. Decided to try the adjacent bar and perhaps get dinner there. Sat at a table, but after no attention for 15 minutes, moved to the long, white, main bar and plopped down in front of a bartender. Got service immediately. Started with cream of crab soup--subtle, flavorful. Then turned to a rockfish dish as well as a crabcake offering, with sides of coleslaw and veggies. All of it was very good, light tasting, executed with modern flair. The plating was appealing too. Nice vibe in the bar, almost hushed, as folks can enjoy a tranquil view of the Chesapeake Bay. A replica of the "Three Soldiers" statue, from the National Vietnam Memorial site in DC, is found outside, on the expansive grounds of this multifaceted establishment. It's well done and memorable.

Views are gorgeous! That sunset and view is stunning! Let's get into it! Cocktails - This is a more refined restaurant so no slushie drinks here! They do have a great cocktail menu, I opted for Prosecco which they had! Not everyone does! Had to point that out! Calamari - Portion size is a bit on the smaller side for the price but it was good! Fresh! And the sweet chili sauce was delicious. Crab Dip - You know I had to try this! I personally needed more flavor so I added old bay which did the trick. Lots of fresh lump crab! Crème of Crab - Delicious! No complaints! Side salad - Delicious! No complaints! I ordered a crab cake sandwich too but had the waitress box it up to go because 2 apps, a soup and a salad were plenty. Definitely order one app, if you're going to get an entree.

The shrimp salad was stellar. And the brioche bun went so well. I will say the island fries had a spice we didn't love. The queso dip it came with was good. Didn't love the chili aioli it came with.
