Family owned an operated local diner that fits the bill for all our needs. It's in a good location with plenty of parking. They have daily specials. The service is always good. The food is always good. We only stop here in the OFF SEASON as it's on the way to Ocean City Maryland. I'm not sure what it's like in the summer, but we've really enjoyed stopping here about 20 times a year. Tip: it's easier to get back on route 404 by going out the exit that's in back of Aldi's. You can get right onto 404 there versus going out the exit that is closer to Walmart, which can be a pain. read more

We don't get out this way often, but, when we do, we stop at this diner. Comfortable, friendly and conscientious staff, and a great menu with lots of diner faves. Today, I got the tuna wrap with fries and decided to try a cup of chili. The chili is delicious, slightly sweet, yet tangy, with beef, beans and pieces of green pepper. Really good. The tuna wrap was fine, but could have been better. Although I like the idea of grilling the wrap, for me, for the tuna it doesn't work to grill the wrap. The wrap had a burnt flavor that diminished the flavor of the tuna. That was really disappointing. The fries that accompanied the wrap were well prepared (crunchy on the outside, but not dried out). With the chili, it was an awful lot of food. My bad. My partner got the Santa Fe Salad. It looked really good and my partner enjoyed it. I ate one chunk of the grilled chicken and it was tasty and moist. My partner also enjoyed the cup of soup of the day that came with it - Italian Wedding Soup. It looked and tasted legit. On my way to Delaware Beaches I needed to stop and grab some food. I wasn't in the mood for fast food and I wasn't in the mood for a chain. Do a quick search while driving and I found this place. A diner felt right. Even though this place labelled itself as a diner, upon entry it gives off a sports bar feel instead. But what draws you back to it was the food. The food, if ordering the right thing, reminds you of diner. When I entered I was greeted and was going to be led to a booth, on the way there I asked if it would be better to sit at the bar instead of taking up a whole booth to myself. Once sidled up to the bar I looked over the menu, it's a bit long, but you will definitely find something to satiate your appetite. I went with water for my drink and ordered the Baked Meatloaf Entree. This comes served with brown gravy and two sides and choice of soup of the day or salad. I opted for the salad and asked a few questions about the sides. The one I was definitely going with was the mashed potatoes, but I wanted to know what the vegetable for the day was. My server needed to find out before she let me know. It was green beans. My meal came, missing one thing. The green beans. I wasn't really missing them. I started to dig into the meatloaf. You get three pieces of the meatloaf, mashed potatoes on the side, all of it covered with brown gravy. I was about halfway through my first piece of meatloaf and then the green beans came my way. They were basically what was presented, an afterthought. There wasn't much flavor to them, even after adding some salt. Paying was a bit weird. You are given your check at your seat but you have to go to the front door to pay. I was able to add a tip on at the end. read more

Solid diner in a strip mall in Denton. We were greeted warmly and quickly shown to a table on a busy Saturday morning. The pancakes were great--light and fluffy and served with generous pads of butter. The sausage was also top notch, along with the bacon. The hash browns were shredded and seasoned and cooked well, but the scrambled eggs were runny and lacked flavor. Recommend you upgrade your OJ--Tropicana in a bottle was not great. The food is tasty and the servings are big. The service was very friendly and the kitchen made our meals fast. The only possible nitpicking I could do was the wet tea was hot. We needed to get ice. The place is clean, spacious and there a nice bar area. Nice big TVs but not loud. Overall, I'd come back again. The price was great in this economy. We had the meatball parm sandwich, chicken cheesesteak and mozzarella sticks. All for about 35$. read more

Modern diner in a new commercial center in Denton, Maryland on the way to Delaware beaches. It appears clean, with dining area, as well as long counter and stools for solitary customers like me. My Patty Melt on Marble Rye was quite good, and I liked the added mushrooms tucked into the sandwich. I asked for medium finish, but while I received something closer to well done, it was still a tasty 'wich. They had an attractive pastry display, but not for someone trying to avoid sweets. Yet, the honeys behind the counter all in black, did carry that theme to extremes with abundant tats on most exposed skin. Appreciated their collective attitude and in-your-face Devil May Care! I love this little diner tucked away in the plaza! Good portions of food, delicious for breakfast and lunch/dinner! Their homefries are some of the best I had! Their pasta carbonara is good it just has a little bit too much ham lol. I prefer more bacon. Still beats any diner I've eaten at in PA. Service is friendly. read more

Owners are never friendly. They just seat you and watch. Not even a smile...No appreciation at all. The breakfast potatoes were gross.. greasy w old oil flavor...The meat lovers omlette was dry but edible . The bathrooms are dirty.. I don't go here often and every time I give them another chance, I regret it. The waitress was fine however. read more

This is my favorite place. The menu has more options than you can shake a fork at, both Breakfast and/or their Lunch/Dinner menu. I've had every hotdog combination they offer, all the sandwiches, each salad, especially "The Works", (these are no small salads). I can go on and on talking about their food. Today I ordered the Buffalo popcorn shrimp as my appetizer and it came out in a basket (oh shrimp yea!!!). Then I ordered a favorite, the Shoreway Burger with onion rings. This is topped with fried onions, roasted red peppers, and provolone cheese. You'll want 2 just because the first one was so good. The seating is comfortable too, all soft padded booths with some chairs (still comfy) or you can plant it at the bartop. They have a full bar, with plenty of large tvs for all your viewing pleasures. This family ran establishment makes me feel welcomed everytime from the owners to the staff. Oh my gosssh......desserts!!!!!! When you walk in...just glance to your 11:00. WOOOOO Lawdy, the dessert case has this heavenly glow to it that will suck you into it like the stare of Medusa. SO good!!! They also do this chicken orzo soup "muuuAH".in closing, I have a to-go menu that I am checking each item off as I go. Let those be my words of motivation . This re-imagining of the 9 Central diner is great! Rarely a wait for a table after multiple visits, and the food gets better each and every time we go in. I prefer the breakfast menu, as I am a breakfast person. The scrapple fries are a knockout home run. Perfectly crispy, and lots of flavor. The service is always friendly and familiar, with smiles all around. I always look forward to my next meal here. I had to take 1 star off due to the horribly laid out parking lot. Good food with a full bar as a bonus. They do have a very big menu which can be daunting, so I recommend sticking to the burgers, sandwiches, and diner food classics. Service is very friendly and attentive. The full bar is an unexpected bonus, and drink prices are very reasonable. read more

We wanted to love this place. Bad: Food. Who seasons TRADITIONAL American meatloaf with Cumin and Lime? Seriously? The meatloaf could have been amazing. It starts with traditional flavor and consistancy, but finishes weirdly. The meatloaf looked like meatloaf with brown gravy. But the aftertaste was of packaged Fijita seasoning. Weird. Unexpectant. Almost like they had cooked Quesadilla's on the flat top grill, then without cleaning it, reheated something that could have been "mom's meatloaf" on top of something that was Ortega Fajita seasoning....in oil. It was NOT GOOD. The oil from the grill captured the Cumin and lime, coating your tongue. Not good at all. The Hot Turkey sandwich with Chicken gravy was BLAND, BLAND, BLAND. Like the gravy was neon yellow without an ounce of taste. Use some unsalted Chicken broth to enhance the flavors here. Going to stop somewhere else. Let's get those ratings up. It doesn't take a culinary arts degree to figure out Meatloaf and brown gravy. Likewise for a traditional hot turkey sandwich with poultry gravy. This is a diner. These dishes are standard. Since my question was deleted, I'll have to be content to write a review. I previously reviewed the Denton Diner and gave it a four star review. I am a longtime customer from when the business was located in Ridgely, MD and also since it moved to Denton, MD. Some things have improved, most have remained the same, but some things have gotten worse. My BLT was supposed to on toast, but the bread was so lightly toasted, you could barely tell it had been toasted at all. I'm not sure what's going on with their beverages, but the iced tea is actually now a joke. It cost $2.69 for an iced tea that really isn't iced tea. I always order it unsweetened with light ice, and lemon. The only flavor in the iced tea was the lemon. There was barely any color to the iced tea. I complained to the waitress, who indicated that something seems to be wrong with their brewing system, and that customers have been complaining for several days in a row. But, there was no offer to remove it from the ticket, so my wife and I were charged over $5.00 essentially for two glasses of water. I complained again to the person running the cash register about it, but an apathetic look and no offer to remove it from the ticket. This is really the only diner other than Bullock's deli in Denton, and honestly, I am disappointed in the customer service and apparent declining quality of the food here. The wait staff seem at least personable, but that doesn't help if the food quality is going down. read more

An unassuming diner frequented by locals. It was the only one open with gluten-free option in the area for sit-down meal that is not a fast food. Boy! Were we glad to find this gem! Saw the liver and onions option so I had to get me some. Ordered it with broccoli at mini meal portion and it was still a lot! Also got mashed potatoes with gravy. It was served hot, the flavor was superb! It was tender and juicy. I wanted to hug the chef lol! By far the best liver and onions I have ever tasted. My husband got the eggs and bacon with breakfast steak from the all -day breakfast menu. He said the eggs were done well, bacon cooked just the way he likes it, well but not super crunchy, and lastly the steak was better than the steakhouse steak he got from TBonz in Charleston-tender, pink inside and super tasty! Wish I have this diner in our neck of the woods but overall I'd say thank the stars above we stopped by. Highly recommend! read more

The diner doesn't look inviting as you approach it, with all windows covered by shades, but inside is a nicely done restaurant and bar. The welcome is warm if you're a regular, a bit cooler if you're not, which is why I opted for 3 stars instead of 4. I had the meatloaf panini with fries. It was nicely toasted and filled with a good balance of meatloaf. It was a bit under seasoned and the addition of something acidic, like tomato or pickles, would have made it perfect. My friend had the Monte Christo French toast, an open faced version of the classic sandwich, and fries. It wasn't what she was expecting and didn't come with the usual raspberry jam, but she enjoyed it. We both cleaned our plates! Service was good and the food arrived quickly. The Denton Diner is a good stop if you find yourself in need of a bite on your way to the beach. read more

The older lady who is up front at the hostess stand will be the downfall of this new establishment. She very coldly stared at us when we went in and just looked at us blankly never saying a word.. it was very odd. I finally said "just 3 for lunch please" very nicely and she walked us over to a table still never saying a single word. It was at least 10 minutes before out waitress came over.. never introducing her self.. never saying hello... never saying Welcome.. nothing except for "what would you guys like to drink?" When we went to leave.. we were told you pay upfront at the hostess table. This is directly in front of the front door so I was literally blocking the door as an older couple with canes was trying to walk in. No one ever acknowledged them as me and my two works ran our debit cards with the unfriendly hostess lady. I felt bad for the older couple because they were just walking in circles trying to figure out if they seat their self, all while glancing at the older mean hostess lady to see if she was going to acknowledge them and let them know that she would seat them in a minute.. but she never did. They were still just standing there looking around trying to figure out how seating work after all three of us ran and signed our receipts. The whole thing was just awkward and unwelcoming. Service was fast and friendly provided by Desiree I was also happy I could have a glass of wine with my lunch as they have a full bar. I had the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on toast with shredded hash browns and a cup of sausage gravy. My son, who had a Chicken Parmesan sandwich noticed that it was toasted perfectly and loved the crispy and gooey flair of the seasoned fries. They have counter service. First trip to the new Denton Diner... Walking in, we were not greeted but stared at by an older woman with her face mask covering the lower part of her mouth. The bartender had her mask the same way, under her lower lip. She proceeded to set us at a table that was not fully bussed and set with cutlery and placemats. Upon sitting we waited about 10 minutes for a server to come over, then two back to back (lack of communication). The hostess then bussed a table close by by sanitizing with blue windex glass cleaner (which is not a sanitizing disinfectant). The woman who appeared to be the manager knew how to wear a mask, only wish she would have her servers do the same. Asked for extra napkins and cutlery, food came and still no napkins or cutlery Food came out Luke warm. I understand that this pace opened recently, but I only hope they can make it better and stick around a while. read more
