Meatloaf Entree
Matthew U.

On my way to Delaware Beaches I needed to stop and grab some food. I wasn't in the mood for fast food and I wasn't in the mood for a chain. Do a quick search while driving and I found this place. A diner felt right. Even though this place labelled itself as a diner, upon entry it gives off a sports bar feel instead. But what draws you back to it was the food. The food, if ordering the right thing, reminds you of diner. When I entered I was greeted and was going to be led to a booth, on the way there I asked if it would be better to sit at the bar instead of taking up a whole booth to myself. Once sidled up to the bar I looked over the menu, it's a bit long, but you will definitely find something to satiate your appetite. I went with water for my drink and ordered the Baked Meatloaf Entree. This comes served with brown gravy and two sides and choice of soup of the day or salad. I opted for the salad and asked a few questions about the sides. The one I was definitely going with was the mashed potatoes, but I wanted to know what the vegetable for the day was. My server needed to find out before she let me know. It was green beans. My meal came, missing one thing. The green beans. I wasn't really missing them. I started to dig into the meatloaf. You get three pieces of the meatloaf, mashed potatoes on the side, all of it covered with brown gravy. I was about halfway through my first piece of meatloaf and then the green beans came my way. They were basically what was presented, an afterthought. There wasn't much flavor to them, even after adding some salt. Paying was a bit weird. You are given your check at your seat but you have to go to the front door to pay. I was able to add a tip on at the end.

The food is tasty and the servings are big. The service was very friendly and the kitchen made our meals fast. The only possible nitpicking I could do was the wet tea was hot. We needed to get ice. The place is clean, spacious and there a nice bar area. Nice big TVs but not loud. Overall, I'd come back again. The price was great in this economy. We had the meatball parm sandwich, chicken cheesesteak and mozzarella sticks. All for about 35$.

Modern diner in a new commercial center in Denton, Maryland on the way to Delaware beaches. It appears clean, with dining area, as well as long counter and stools for solitary customers like me. My Patty Melt on Marble Rye was quite good, and I liked the added mushrooms tucked into the sandwich. I asked for medium finish, but while I received something closer to well done, it was still a tasty 'wich. They had an attractive pastry display, but not for someone trying to avoid sweets. Yet, the honeys behind the counter all in black, did carry that theme to extremes with abundant tats on most exposed skin. Appreciated their collective attitude and in-your-face Devil May Care! Go get 'em ladies!

Pasta Carbonara

I love this little diner tucked away in the plaza! Good portions of food, delicious for breakfast and lunch/dinner! Their homefries are some of the best I had! Their pasta carbonara is good it just has a little bit too much ham lol. I prefer more bacon. Still beats any diner I've eaten at in PA. Service is friendly.

This is my favorite place. The menu has more options than you can shake a fork at, both Breakfast and/or their Lunch/Dinner menu. I've had every hotdog combination they offer, all the sandwiches, each salad, especially "The Works", (these are no small salads). I can go on and on talking about their food. Today I ordered the Buffalo popcorn shrimp as my appetizer and it came out in a basket (oh shrimp yea!!!). Then I ordered a favorite, the Shoreway Burger with onion rings. This is topped with fried onions, roasted red peppers, and provolone cheese. You'll want 2 just because the first one was so good. The seating is comfortable too, all soft padded booths with some chairs (still comfy) or you can plant it at the bartop. They have a full bar, with plenty of large tvs for all your viewing pleasures. This family ran establishment makes me feel welcomed everytime from the owners to the staff. Oh my gosssh......desserts!!!!!! When you walk in...just glance to your 11:00. WOOOOO Lawdy, the dessert case has this heavenly glow to it that will suck you into it like the stare of Medusa. SO good!!! They also do this chicken orzo soup "muuuAH".in closing, I have a to-go menu that I am checking each item off as I go. Let those be my words of motivation . They ARE NOT open on Mondays but have plenty of parking when you do go every other day of the week, as they are in a strip mall. BUON APPETITO!!

This re-imagining of the 9 Central diner is great! Rarely a wait for a table after multiple visits, and the food gets better each and every time we go in. I prefer the breakfast menu, as I am a breakfast person. The scrapple fries are a knockout home run. Perfectly crispy, and lots of flavor. The service is always friendly and familiar, with smiles all around. I always look forward to my next meal here. I had to take 1 star off due to the horribly laid out parking lot. The spaces are small, and the lot is a nightmare to get out of.

Ham and cheese omelette, pancakes and scrambled eggs

It doesn't look like much driving but past- but inside was cozy and full. The waitress was friendly, our orders came out fast. We were both very happy with our food, a ham and cheese omelette and a pancake stack. We will be back.

BEWARE OUT OF TOWN CONSUMERS!!!…read more I ordered from this place on July 3rd, the food was good... fast forward to July 6th my mini wanted a repeat, we ordered pasta and I order the fish sandwich with fries. This order took place over the phone. I was asked what I wanted on the fish, I said whatever comes on it, the gentleman taking my order over the phone said oh you don't want anything on it, I said you don't put anything on the fish? I then said put cheese, tartar sauce and pickles on the fish. I asked for hot sauce on the side. The gentleman gave me my total and said my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived early, requested the pickles be put on the side as well, and then paid (I noticed the price changed. I was handed the receipt and saw I was charged $0.50 for each condiment that generally comes customary on a fish sandwich. The food was good but I hate establishments that nickel and dime patrons without clearly stating the specifics. *I was going to leave a stellar review for the place initially as the food was pretty good, after my visit on July 6th, my family and I will never dine here again when we are visiting in the area. As far as the ambiance, it's a "mom and pop" dinner set-up without the charisma, warmth and customer service of a "mom and pop" establishment.

My first experience at CE was a couple months, and while it was a good experience I was on a specific diet and could not partake in the entire menu (try the ramen!). On this second trip, I was eager to try something with protein. From entry to exit, my experience was a terrific one! There were ample parking spaces, the restaurant and the bathrooms were clean and shiny, and there were plenty of seating options. (Always check bathrooms as it's a reflection of how serious the restaurant is about sanitation and cleanliness). Angel, one of the team members was great - she welcomed me, assisted me with my menu-related questions, and was overall pleasant. She was knowledgeable with the menu which added to the service experience. I ordered a bowl with brown rice & roasted potatoes, sides of asparagus and glazed carrots, and the wild-caught salmon. Wild-caught salmon!? Wow! Not something typically offered in a quick-service style eatery. It was delicious! The roasted potatoes were deliciously seasoned with a good texture, the veggies were well-seasoned and cooked al dente, the rice did not have much flavor or seasoning, but I did not mind as the bowl was already packed with flavor and the rice was more for the carbs. I appreciate that the food is served restaurant sit-down style - served in a non-disposable bowl with actual silverware, and the food is brought to the table. When I finished my meal, another kind team member took my bowl. The service on my second trip was a far better experience. A nice finish would be a small assortment of freshly baked desserts. While I love chocolate chip cookies, I passed on trying CE's as it did not look appetizing. Overall, great experience! I will be back.

The lady cashier seemed nice, though seemed a little forgetful when the man walked up front. Metal seating-could be made more comfortable with cushions. Shrimp cooked perfect. I would suggest asking for an extra slice of toast to dab up the remaining shallot cream sauce, as it was D-Lish! For dinner we both had the Crab Cake Frites. Excellent! Crab cakes were just that, CRAB, not filler. Asparagus was cooked just the way we like it with a little crunch and the fries...just good style hand cut fries. Perfect meal!! Topped it off with a carrot cake, excellent excellent meal! Price wise- look at it as you are paying for a good quality meal, which in my opinion is always worth it if it is good.

Went here for late lunch and had a mixed experience. The place itself is quite lovely charming…read moredécor, pleasant ambiance, and friendly staff. But I have a few caveats: Very pricey: The quality is decent, but the cost is on the high side for what you get. We got the 2 special of the day. My gf and I got the meatloaf sandwich with korean bbq sauce and crab cake sandwich which were $15 each. Both of the sandwiches were good, got good flavor and plenty of crab. The fries were the worse thing I've ever had they were not crispy and mushy texture. Its the saddest fry Ive ever seen. Long wait time: Be prepared to wait. There were 2 servers both handling the inside and outside tables. Not for when you're in a hurry: If you've got limited time, this place is not the best pick the wait and service pace can really drag. If you're looking for a relaxed meal and don't mind spending a little more, Caroline's is pleasant. But if you're on a schedule or want value, you might want to try somewhere else.
