This was a quick lunch stop as we had just hit up the saturday morning farmers market. we sat outside and were greeted immediately by everyone. our waitress was Tatum. she was so attentive, gave us great recommendations for lunch, had our drinks over to us in minutes and she had a good amount of tables yet we always felt she only was working with us. great food, great crushes and just a good feeling all the way around. Tatum was so sweet, great personality and just took great care of us. we live in bel air so we wish we were closer to come back however anytime we are in the area we will def stop by and hope Tatum is working. I stopped in here briefly during a Sunday Funday tour from Kent Island up to Middletown, Delaware. We only planned to have one drink (drinks were great). I asked if my boyfriend could order a "blowjob shot" (a common novelty shot), and the staff responded very rudely, but brought it over then yelled at us, saying it wasn't appropriate because there were children present. What made this confusing and uncomfortable was that we then noticed a photo displayed on the wall that appeared to show an older man surrounded by underage girls in a very inappropriate, suggestive context. When this was pointed out, the older woman who appeared to be manager became even more dismissive instead of addressing the concern. I understand setting boundaries around drink names or atmosphere, but the inconsistency, combined with the rude attitude and questionable sexual decor, left a bad impression. Great atmosphere especially for sports fans. They had several TVs and games playing at the same time; busy on a Saturday afternoon. Service was so utterly slow. The food.. well, it's bar food. I think the menu has too many items on it. The bacon cheese fries were ok. The chicken nachos, meh. Had old bay (?) seasoning in the chicken with a bunch of pico dumped on top. Was looking for a quaint-outdoor seating-cold drink spot on a Friday night. Parking can be an issue here ... sure enough the lot was full but plenty of parking street side. We were seated quickly, cozy corner outside --- at a table that wobbled more than a politician at a fund raiser. Come on folks, you gotta know the table is broken (the base is actually broken) get rid of it - I assume it's the reason for this table to be pushed to the far corner. Service was fine, quick & friendly. Food was fine, deep fried pickles, rockfish rap and crab cake sandwich. Nothing spectacular. On the way out ... I know I'm being picky BUT as a restaurant owner you can decide where to put a smoking area. We had to go through the smoke zone to leave - disgusting. Move it away from the access / egress pathway. Very cool bar! we were driving late at night and this was one of the very few places that were still open not too far off the highway. We stopped in and had some great local beer and some good food! The cheesesteak egg rolls and the nachos for an appetizer were both great. For dinner I had the hot chicken sandwich which was alright. It's been a while since I'd visited Docs and thought I'd grab some dinner there on Friday night. The initial issue was trying to find a place to park. The parking lot is oddly shaped and there's not a lot of street parking. Once in, we were greeted quickly and seated. It was a little tight as we got a table between two posts in the middle of a dining area. They had a good selection of beers and other beverages, and we ordered some pretzel sticks with stone ground mustard and cheese dips. They came out quick considering how busy it was and were good but the cheese sauce was a little runny. We ordered a turkey Reuben and a pulled short rib grilled cheese sandwich. Both were good. The short rib grilled cheese came with a nice au jou . So good. I had intended to get dessert but the dinner was so filling I just had no room! Another great lunch at this local eatery. Fresh ingredients, great service , homemade flavor and pride in every bite. I ordered the blackened rockfish tacos. They came with homemade Coleslaw, guacamole, sauce, Pico de gallo and sour cream on corn tortillas. A wonderful lunch in a great atmosphere. We had to stop for lunch heading home from a trip - found this place on yelp... both of us enjoyed our meals .... Food arrived hot and fresh - food is very filling we could not finish it all. Off the beaten trail but so worth it! Happened to be driving through Centreville and was told I had to swing by Doc's. So worth it! Atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. Food is phenomenal, service top notch. Most of the food and condiments are homemade. Filet sandwich was a suggestion from the server "Bean". And a great suggestion it was! Great food for my past two visits. I really like their blondie crab soup and so did my toddler the first time I went. I enjoyed the spiced shrimp but wish the portion was bigger since the were delicious. I decided to try the fried oysters but I think I ll stick to raw in the future since I realized the texture just was not good for me personally but others might like it. The side of fruit was definitely fresh and the onion rings that came with the black and bleu burger were the best I've had in a long time. Don't be fooled by the bar style menu the food will stand it own against any fine dining restaurant around. The service might be a little hit and miss but considering the crowd of guests I feel they do a great job. It seems to be a very loved local and family spot.
