NY strip with baked Mac & Cheese
    Marcella K.

First time dining in and the food was DELISH! My hubby got the NY strip steak special with macaroni & cheese. The Mac & Cheese was baked with a broiled cheesy crust, and the steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked as ordered. I got the herb encrusted lamb chops. WOWZA! Absolutely mouth watering, and served on top of smooth and tasty mashed potatoes with a side of sautéed tender asparagus. We finished our meals with their famous sticky toffee pudding served with fresh whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. What a marvelous find on Main Street! DEF will be back again!

    Crab cake, spinach, and asparagus.

Christopher's Kitchen is hands down the best restaurant in Cambridge and something you do not find…read morejust anywhere. The menu is really fun and inventive, and everything we tried was excellent. There was not a single dish that disappointed. The craft cocktails were also a lot of fun and clearly well thought out. On top of that, the atmosphere is really romantic, which makes it a perfect spot for a date night. If you are looking for a unique place with great food and drinks, this is it.

The food was delicious, but the rest was a little off. First, the food. We stuck to appetizers:…read moreBrussels sprouts, mac and cheese, and the crab dip flatbread. All were excellent. I particularly liked the sweet corn on the flatbread. We also had cocktails- an old fashioned for me and a mojito for my friend - they were fine. The theme of the restaurant is Edgar Allen Poe, and they just went way too far with the literary idea. The menu was long-winded and confusing. You have to read each item carefully and try to decipher what you'll be getting. For example, the Aristocrat is "a feast for a king or his court, flame-forged angus blend cloaked in American cheese and enthroned upon shattered lettuce...". Huh? Is that a cheesesteak with shredded lettuce? I thought it was absurd and funny. My hangry friend did not see the humor. We both agreed this really good restaurant is doing itself a huge disservice by confusing customers. First rule of selling anything is to make it easy for the customer to want what you're selling. We did ask our server their favorites on the menu. They named a few appetizers and said they mostly stick to the less expensive items. This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant, and I would expect the staff to be well-educated on the food. I don't blame the server for not forking over the cash for a variety of menu items. It's a pricey place. But don't they prepare the staff to answer questions about the food by letting them taste everything? I thought it was standard practice to prepare tasting portions for waitstaff. This restaurant is currently too tied to their theme. With a little editing, this could be a great place. I hope more people give them a chance, offer constructive feedback, and that the management is open to suggestion.
