I think the portions were a bit small for the price, but the ambiance/views seemed to be part of the cost. cocktail: chesapeake bae - It was just okay, it tasted a bit watered down calamari - delicious, would definitely get again, it would be nice if the sauce was on the side so the calamari wouldn't get soggy crab dip - dip was good, but pretzels were better children's petite filet - requested medium, received medium rare, but my toddler still enjoyed it. the portion is a bit small (I think it was supposed to be 6 oz, but I'm pretty sure it was smaller than that.) empanadas - very good, three to an order (small, two-bite sized), also wish sauces were on the side so the pastry wouldn't be soggy at the bottom filet & lobster - filet was overcooked (requested medium rare, but it was well done, no pink inside), lobster was good scallops and shrimp - delicious, came with 3 scallops and 5 shrimp (all averaged sized, one scallop was small), jasmine rice was good, asparagus was delicious Overall, the seasoning was spot on for all of the food. Carroll Creek is our favorite spot for lunch and dinner whenever we're in Annapolis. The staff is consistently attentive and always goes out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. On our latest visit, I was curious about the new crab soup but didn't want a full bowl, so they kindly brought out a small cup to sample. That's the kind of service that keeps us coming back. We've enjoyed the mussels, local oysters, rockfish, filet, and lamb lollipops over multiple visits. The rockfish is consistently outstanding, and they know how to cook a medium-rare filet perfectly. The lamb lollipops are delicious but can occasionally be a little overcooked. Drinks were solid as well. My only suggestion is the HVAC. If you're seated under a vent during the warmer months, it can get quite chilly, so bring a light jacket or shawl. Overall, we love Carroll Creek and look forward to many more visits. read more

My only complaint was for $23, I would expect 4 scallops. It came with 2. The Tuna Tartar was okay, for some reason it didn't work for us. The beurre blanc was an excellent touch to the dish, along with the grilled veggies and crab lump meat atop the fish. The cream of crab soup was also great, with touches of fresh crab meat. We had a beautiful night here! We arrived around 6pm. We were a group of 6. We had cocktails and apps! Get the fish fingers, crab dip and calamari's were all outrageous. We actually had plans to go to deferent restaurant for dinner. Since the apps, drinks and vibe were so good we stayed for dinner. It was all so wonderful! We ended up staying for a beautiful sunset. Overlooking the marina and the river, I recommend sitting near the patio railing if offered the choice and the weather permits. It was peaceful midday despite being in the middle of an urban city. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. They gladly helped us switch to a table in the shade when it was determined that it was going to be too windy to open the umbrellas. The waitstaff checked on us frequently without being intrusive. The herb encrusted rockfish is a perfect balance of light summer vegetables (heirloom tomato and asparagus) and comforting fish and crab nestled on an island of mashed purple cauliflower surrounded by a beurre blanc "ocean". It was filling without the heaviness other dishes might bring like ribeye or a burger. The lobster roll with homemade chips was delicious enough to not need the provided tartar sauce - as it should. Snuggled in a buttery, soft roll, the plentiful lobster meat was fresh and sweet. This is another wonderful meal that is filling and decadent without the heaviness. For dessert, we had the seasonal shortcake. A lemon pound cake with seasonal fruit and berries and ice cream. It's a classic spring/summer dessert that you can't go wrong with. read more

Very pleasant, if more paced than I expected, Father's Day Brunch. Our server was exceptionally friendly, but was swamped and we wound up taking an almost 2 hour lunch. He was apologetic and so nice, but I started to feel uncomfortable asking for where our order was, water, etc. When he was serving he was excellent and I give him a pass. Delicious house Margarita and blueberry fizz to start and tasty, generous bread basket to start. Real standouts were the french onion soup and amazing hush puppies. My husband and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary at Carrol's Creek Cafe, and I could not have been happier. I had no clue where he had planned for us to have dinner, I just knew that it was a location in Annapolis. From the minute we walked in to the quite inconspicuously located entrance, I was prepared for just about anything! But every single expectation was met, when we were seated outside, immediately next to Spa Creek and the Drawbridge; just in time to watch the entire sunset in all its glory. The service, food and wine were all impeccable! I started with the house special - the Sea Scallops, and chose the Sautéed Shrimp and Crab Pasta for my main! Both of these were 10/10 and truly seasoned and prepared to perfection. There was no over seasoning, I could taste each and every one of these fresh ingredients in the pasta... From the grilled zucchini to the fresh lump crab, the cherry tomatoes and the lemon zest !! My husband had the Cream of Corn soup & the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, both of which he devoured! When my husband made the reservation, he made the note that it was an anniversary dinner, but perhaps they missed this on our reservation when we checked in? There were a few other tables with celebrations like birthdays, and they got a sweet card and that additional special treatment to complement the evening. Came over to introduce herself. She was so kind, soft spoken and sweet. She was working hard. She had 10 tables and handled all of them with poise & grace. Warm dinner rolls with butter were brought out before dinner. Dinner was presented and I was in awe. Ive been to many fine dining establishments. But this particular, "Rockfish Oscar style", was Top Chef level!! The plate had beautiful colors. Appeasing to the eyes! Hence the term. You eat with your eyes first. It was a hearty dish. There is a parking lot out front, and the restaurant will validate the parking. Our waiter was fun, and made a few jokes at our table, so the service wasn't lacking. They honestly just dropped the ball with the food. We started off with the crab guacamole appetizer. Surprisingly, this was the best dish of the night. My mom order some crab dip, and it was extremely watery and lacked flavor. For dinner, I ordered a crab cake and a house salad with raspberry vinaigrette. The salad was actually sad. It had romaine lettuce, sunflower seeds, and cranberries. I would have loved for it to have some additional vegetables or croutons to jazz it up. I have had house salads that came with diced tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, etc. I was just hoping for a little more. The crab cake also missed the mark for me. Better than expected really. Myself and two other girlfriends had hoped to sit outside, but it was packed and about a two hour wait; dissapointed but we settled for the dark somewhat dingey bar area. Our server and bartender was great and helpful. I had a Spirit Free Drink that was worth posting about because it was THAT good. a non-alcoholic Bourbon, tea type drink that was actually quite delicious. Went for a program in one of their private rooms. The service was unbelievably good. But the food, I only took a couple of pictures but the food was really good and presentation was next level. Mashed potatoes - mine had a green tint to them, and the flavor had a hint of spinach, but WOW these weee good. Green beans - crisp and well seasoned. Sugar peas - OH MY, these were so good. Crab Cake /Fillet - not my dish, but one of my table mates said the crack cake was amazing. I didn't get any comments on the fillet but it looked good. Salmon - the salmon was good, a tad dry, but the crisp exterior reminded me of a crème brûlée as you could tap the surface and feel that hard coating. The exterior was great, as I said the middle got a little dry. Mushrooms - mushrooms were part of the salmon dish, and they're getting their billing because they were freaking fabulous. You hear me. FREAKING FABULOUS. I could eat mushrooms like this 31 days out of a month and not get tired of them. If the restaurant reads this and wants to slide me the recipe, I would not complain. I used to ride Service to get there, and to leave so I don't really know about the parking but it looked like there was plenty. One of the better parts was you look over the marina and see a number of beautiful boats, small and large and we got to see some of the sunset too. In fact, one of the , one of the teammates had them open up the blinds and let them take a picture of the sunset. It was so beautiful. The service here was so good, really so good. This is one of my favorite local restaurants for lunch or dinner by the water overlooking the Annapolis Marina. All of the food here is great! The staff is well trained and polite. Not sure what to order? I'm going to make this simple for you: 5oz Filet Mignon, herb mashed potatoes (don't be alarmed looks like guacamole), comes with sauteed pearl onions and mushrooms, broccolini, and I added the grilled shrimp Trust me, this meal looks as good as it tasted. For an additional treat, I did a 3-tier white wine flight. The Italian selection and the French were very good, until we got to the 3rd American varietal, which I sent back, because it completely threw my taste buds off, so they brought me out an extra 2 oz pour of the French selection. This day did not disappoint, the parking is free when you bring in your ticket for validation. Oh my God Carol's Creek is now in our top 10 of all-time best restaurants two big reasons 1) incredible food and 2) incredible server, Mike. Now let me tell you about our nights experience -- my wife and I were new into Annapolis. We were celebrating both our birthdays and we were surprised upon searching for best seafood how few places came up and some with mixed reviews; putting that aside we opted to try Carrol's Creek. We had made a reservation prior to our travels and we were absolutely blown away. We only wish we lived closer, can't drive six hours round trip for dinner. Let me tell you about our evening, we had requested an inside table along the window so we can enjoy the view of the marina considering how hot the stretch was in mid June. We were shown to our table immediately upon arrival and Mike, our server, introduced himself, presented us with a happy birthday note card that was on display on the table, he walked us through the evening's special dishes. so many tasty items. It was hard to choose from, but obviously we did and we chose well. We started off our dinner exploration with fried green tomatoes with crab, and as you can see from the photographs, it was a beautifully presented dish and tasted equally as great . Was fresh crisp and it was nice having chunks of crap. For our main dishes, my wife and I shared two dishes, 1) the Thai shrimp and scallops which blew us away. The flavor was just right with the right amount of spice and also 2) the softshell crap, and Mike went and picked two really nice meaty crabs for me, it was cooked to perfection. It was not greasy overly fried. It was really nice. Pleasant taste where the coating basically surrounded the crab, but didn't permeate the crab , this way you tasted the fresh crab flavor underneath. To our great surprise, we learned that our dinner desserts due to our birthdays were on the house that really put a twinkle in our eyes and thank you to the restaurant staff for that ... we were in heaven, enjoying the lime soufflé and a doughnut bread pudding .
