We came here to celebrate a birthday and the restaurant was even more beautiful in person! It was the week after the snow storm, so the streets around the restaurant and parking was difficult to get to. The boats sitting on the water were even frozen. Despite the freezing weather, the restaurant was still pretty filled and had a great vibe. When we got to our table the waiter checked my coat and gave me a ticket, to get it later. Our table was seated right next to a beautiful fire pit, which gave an amazing warm temperature. The views across the water were breath taking, through the tall glass windows. There were high ceilings and many details throughout the restaurant that were stunning! Started dinner with the Oysters, followed by the Shellfish Linguine with sautéed mushrooms as an entree. I got the Roasted Lamb Chops which came with the tri-color carrots, and parsnip purée. It all tasted great, however there wasn't enough for leftovers. The waiter brought out a tasty piece of red velvet cake that said "Happy Birthday," which was much appreciated. Service was attentive and kind from all of the staff. read more

Came to Chart House Prime expecting prime... Yelp really needs to add a 3.75 star option . This place was better than 3.5 stars but wasn't quite a full 4 for me. We started with the crab dip and that was good! The valentine couple's surf & turf special, shareable ribeye and tomahawk were all sold out! This was very disappointing. The entree - we ordered the prime rib and eye of the ribeye. Both were cooked great. The creamed spinach was flavorful and creamy. The truffle fries? No complaints, crispy and tasty. Now let's talk about the lobster risotto... because what happened there? Risotto is supposed to be creamy, rich, and comforting. This was dry, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp and lobster was dried out. Service was excellent and ambiance is luxury rustic. Overall, some items were good, but that lobster risotto was a major letdown, especially for the price point. I would revisit but will stay away from the lobster risotto. read more

While we were waiting on our food, the flame on our "fireplace?" went out..it started blowing cold air, it was Valentine's day this year so we're talking like the 27 degree air outside..not cool (well..I guess overly cool..get it? ahah.. anyways) The manager told us he'd start it up again..spoiler, that never happened. It was cold the whole meal. Moving on, our meal did arrive. I had Lobster, Steak, and mashed potatoes, they were good. My wife got the Risotto, and scallops..they were solidly okay. B+ on the food because of risotto and lobster..the steak was really good though. I highly reccomend it if you ignore this review and go anyways. The Ambiance was pretty loud..and I can't stress this enough, it was COLD. I just wanted to be reseated at one of the empty tables around me with a flame or farther away from windows or doors, but this was too big an ask apparently..I honestly think this place was okay..but not $220 okay. I would probably not even be writing this review if it was just $200 or so. I don't really write these reviews often but I go to places like this pretty regularly so I really hope you take this seriously and AVOID this place and not feel robbed like I did. Chart House Prime is the perfect place to dine with a fantastic view of the water. Our food was decent. I had the create your omelette with hash browns, fruit, and a side of turkey bacon. My wife enjoyed the smash burger with shoestring cut fries. We also decor have the crab soup and Caesar salad. We washed our food down with a few mimosas. We received the best service ever from our waiter Terry. He was enthusiastic and personable. Had the pleasure of dining here on my birthday. It's weird, because I haven't been to Annapolis to eat in like forever... lately it's been Baltimore, Columbia... but Annapolis wasnt on my radar. The person who took me out lives in Eastern Shore so this was our middle ground. At first glance you'll think the parking situation is horrible, but they actually have a parking lot next to the restaurant. When you walk in you see the semi open Kitchen concept and the nice bar. In the dining room they have it situated where you have a nice view from almost every point. They have a great cocktail menu and offer a service where they make drinks table side. I tried the Old Fashioned.. it had a truffle in it . For appetizers I had the Crispy Escargot and my friend had the Ahi Poke, that was a pretty large portion that can be shared or even eaten as an entree. For the mains, my friend had the Seabass, and I had the Shellfish Linguine. The Linguine was good, the server removed my plate before I was done so I didn't finish. And for dessert BIRTHDAY CAKE! I never got to dine here and never ever would want to in the future. Evelyn and her manager on 2/21/26 treated me and my guest terribly. We had a reservation time that they would not honor. WE WERE WITHIN THE GRACE PERIOD. The manager was extremely rude and condescending. Evelyn took no accountability at all, they did not try to accommodate in any fashion. To put the cherry on top my wife got food poisoning on Mother's Day. They had a set menu which they were charging premium prices for. I got the wok friend fish and it was good. I do wish the fish had maybe a sweet and sour sauce to go on it or maybe fajitas vegetables to make it pop. But as is the fish was still good. The vegetables were fresh, crisp, and seasoned well. The sticky rice was just sticky rice. We also got the seafood tower which great the poke tuna was fresh and melted in your mouth good. All and all a great meal with a great view of the water. I absolutely love this place for happy hour, meeting friends, special occasions and date night. The ambiance on the water is alluring. I will say everytime I come here, I must get the grilled and chilled shrimp, my favorite Most recently I visited for my birthday. The service is always top tier. We of course had the grilled and chilled shrimp, the lamb chops and the whole bronzino. Everything was absolutely delicious. I will say in the fall/winter on the water sitting close to the windows can be quite brisk. I definitely recommend a reservation as this place is pretty popular. First time at Chart House in Annapolis. We had a gift certificate from a friend, which is the main reason we went. My wife and I both had the 10oz prime rib - medium rare. Both came out grayish-brown and bland. There was nothing special or enjoyable about it. The dish comes with garlic potatoes which had way too much garlic and was inedible. We also ordered the crispy brussel sprouts which were overly sweet and crushed - not handled very well. Even the bread was boring. The only item that was ok was the Ceasar salad. On the other hand, the service was very good. We liked our waitress. However, we won't be back. Yes, the view was nice, but not even close to being worth the $165 for two (includes tip). read more

We arrived 10 minutes early for our 6:45pm reservation. Felt odd that they had us wait until 6:45 passed to get seated. Oh well. After a brief 10 minute wait we were seated at a table adjacent to the open fire pit. It was definitely warm. I used the large wine menu to deflect the heat from me. Our waitress Alex was superb. She was on top of every detail and didn't miss a beat. We didn't need to remind her of anything. Onto the food. I had the 10pz filet and creamed spinach. Both were very good. Wifee had the Lobstertail and rated it 9 out of 10. She said although it was slightly overcooked it was very flavorful. Mixed veggies were phenomenal and perfectly seasoned. My wife and I recently brought my parents here to celebrate my dad's retirement, and I still think about how incredible the experience was. We were served by Gio, and from the moment we sat down, everything felt unhurried and thoughtful. We never once felt rushed or overlooked--in fact, he made us feel like the only table in the restaurant. Gio has that rare mix of attentiveness, warmth, and genuine presence that instantly puts you at ease. He took the time to talk with us, celebrate this milestone with my dad, and made the entire evening feel personal. As we were leaving, Gio realized it was drizzling outside and offered to walk my dad to the car with an umbrella. We initially declined, but he insisted in the kindest way--and sure enough, he walked alongside my dad, making sure he stayed completely dry. It was a gesture we'll never forget. It really showed how much care goes into the experience here. The assistant manager, Akeem, also stopped by our table to acknowledge my dad's retirement and made him feel like the coolest person in the room. You could tell how much that meant to my parents, and how genuine the care was from the entire team. This wasn't our first time here--my wife and I usually come for our anniversaries--and it's exactly why we chose this restaurant for such an important family moment. Chart House was the perfect place for us to have our last dinner of 2024! The ambiance was jammin with great tunes and lots of people out. I ordered an old fashioned to get things started and wow was it a generous pour! We decided to start with the cream of crab soup and butternut squash salad. The soup had lots of lump crab and was a great start. We then had the eye of eye the ribeye and Chilean sea bass. Wow!!! The sea bass was cooked and seared to perfection with perfect flakiness and the lobster risotto was amazing. And the ribeye was cooked and seared with a nice char on outside and perfectly medium rare on the inside. The mashed potatoes was delicious and nice and garlicky. Don't waste your money, but more importantly your time and sanity! As a longtime Santa Barbara resident and former loyal patron of the original Chart House location, I came into this evening with high expectations and a sense of nostalgia. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a meaningful sendoff dinner for my daughter, who is heading to the U.S. Naval Academy, turned into a night of disappointment, frustration, and embarrassment. From the moment we walked in, it was clear something was off. The hostess was visibly sweating--because the place isn't adequately air-conditioned. That set the tone. Once seated, it took far too long to receive even a glass of water. Bread didn't arrive for over an hour, and only after we reminded the staff. Water glasses remained empty unless we flagged someone down. The service was inattentive at best and completely neglectful at worst. Our dinner--two appetizers, two entrées, and one side--took so long to arrive that we nearly closed the place down. We were seated at 7:30 PM and were still waiting on food well into the evening. This wasn't a multi-course tasting menu--it was a simple order that any properly managed kitchen could have executed with ease. To their credit, the Alaskan king crab was outstanding. But the New York strip? Unremarkable and far from the caliber expected at these prices. For what this restaurant charges, the experience was nothing short of unconscionable. It's like being robbed in plain sight--paying fine dining prices for what feels like a second-rate operation. Chart House used to represent quality and consistency. Today, it's a joke. A sad shell of what it once was. If you're considering spending your hard-earned money here, don't. For the past 20+ years (except for the short period when this restaurant was closed after flood damage back in 2003), we have taken our daughter to dinner at this Chart House for her birthday in December. This year was her 30th, and we were really looking forward to this dinner. For context, our family (adult "kids", their spouses, their kids, etc) is a pretty big party -- these dinner reservations are typically for 6-10 people. Last night our reservation was for eight plus a baby - and I made the reservation roughly 3 weeks in advance. When I made the reservation, I was told that I couldn't get all of us together at the same table - but we would have two adjacent tables. Early on the day of the dinner, I called the restaurant to let them know that our grandson (the baby) was sick - so our reservation would be for 7 instead of 8 + baby. I figured that was considerate (for the restaurant's management and other patrons), and I again asked about being put together at one "table," but I was told that we'd still be at two adjacent tables on this special birthday. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly of this review - now that you have the context. (1) Yes, two tables. BUT... despite being told earlier that day, and despite being told we'd be adjacent at the hostess table -- No, not adjacent. No, not the same server. The second table was sufficiently far away that we couldn't see our daughter - and obviously could not communicate other than by TEXTING across the restaurant. Also - there were tables that "flipped" literally 5-10 minutes after we were seated that WERE adjacent to our 4-top... We would have been happy to have waited 10 minutes to make that happen... (2) Yes, the food was very good. We ordered both seafood and beef. Speaking for myself, my blacked Ahi was sublime - simply amazing. My son-in-law couldn't say enough good things about his prime rib, and others at our table loved the seafood that they ordered. BUT... when ordering, we asked if there were any specials that night, and we were told that "it" was sold out - Really?.... at 6:15pm? (3) Ambiance? Well.... Wow... the music was loud. This isn't a bar in downtown Annapolis - it is a restaurant, where I'm spending about $500 for dinner. As such, it was difficult to talk across a 4-top table. Also, I can honestly say that I never expected to hear AC/DC played at dinner at THIS restaurant. Are there times when I'd love to hear AC/DC... Yes. Then? No. BUT.... the holiday decorations were very nice. (4) Service? Well... while our servers were pleasant and professional, they were very busy, and the resulting service was sub par for our tables. For comparison, on our 40th anniversary in August at this restaurant, the service was fantastic. I can't say enough good things about that service experience - so, it should be said that this restaurant CAN do much better. On this occasion, however, the server that seated us, took our orders, brought us our drinks, and we seldom saw her again. I think she was pulled to help with another table(s) (maybe the private party?). Consequently, I was never asked if I wanted a second drink. At the end of dinner, we had been told that the two servers for our two tables would coordinate, but it didn't seem like they were talking at all (especially when I was trying to pay). I hustled across the restaurant, collecting two bills, giving two tips, etc... That could have gone so much easier. With all of that said, I'd have to say that the title of this review should be, "Disappointed." read more

Very busy place, though it was Valentine's Day. I assume it's probably bustling most days. The ambiance was great and included a dj. Very spacious restaurant with plenty of seating. I started with a glass of wine and the smoke + luge. The beef tartare was nice, though I wished it had a tad more seasoning. The bone marrow butter was a nice touch. I followed with the monarch margarita that was quite delicious and refreshing. My last dish was the belly + the beast. The pork belly was good, however the sauce crystallized a bit in some areas, so it was a little hard to chew at times. Wished the flavor was slightly spicier, but it was fine. The charred octopus with the chimichurri wasn't as good as I had hoped. The octopus was cooked perfectly, however I wished there was a touch of citrus or other flavor (chimichurri was very herbaceous). The sweet peppers were a nice touch. Overall, a busy place with a great view that most likely will require reservations, unless you get there at the right time. read more

We went to Chart House Prime the first time for my son's birthday. We made a reservation ahead of time, however we still need to wait for 30 mins to be seated. Then it took another 15-20mins bread. Is on memorial weekend, they said that they are short staff. I felt like the management could do some work here. High end restaurants, shouldn't let customers waited for 30 mins if you have reservations. The service is extremely slow. On the other hand, the food is really good. And the restaurant is beautiful. Nine years later, and my original criticism remains: Chart House still suffers from multiple personality disorder. On Saturday evening, I was looking forward to an upscale dinner on the water, but things started off inauspiciously when Chart House seated me (after my reserved time) in the bar-adjacent area. I was then treated to the musical selections of DJ "Track Playa," and while cacophonies like Sabrina Carpenter's club remix assailed my ears, I sat in increasing darkness as the sun set with nothing but disquieting blue light emitting from the restaurant's sparse lamps. Several nearby patrons had to use the flashlight functions of their phones to illuminate menus, and the staff confessed that they have trouble seeing during food delivery. Chart House: please increase the brightness of the lights (and get rid of the blue) during dinner time. Nobody wants to eat a $500 dinner In Da Club, but if we're forced to, we'd at least like to see our food. read more

Went here for a co-worker's going away, the food was good and plenty. It is on the "pricey" side but as one expect when you visit a high end place. I'm not a big seafood eater (yes I know it's surf & turf place - but this was the choice of the honoree). So I found it kind of hard to choose something I wanted - but ended up getting a wedge salad which was quite good. And chicken with potatoes (sorry I can't recall the name). Our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. It is right by the water and there is no designated parking for the place, you will need to make sure you arrive in time to find a spot in the lot across the street. They were so packed people were siting for HOURS, and people left without being seated because they were no help in even trying to seat anyone. No accommodations. People EVERYWHERE. The manager at six PM on Dec 13 was walking around making small talk with the regulars barely even doing anything. They need to plan better when they know times will be bus. They are poorly managed, it's a shame me and my family truly liked this restaurant and have been here many times. No one was happy and were just waiting for people to finally leave. We enjoyed a two day getaway in Annapolis and my husband booked reservations here as our main date night dinner. It came highly recommended online and by friends. We arrived early for our reservation and sat at the bar - it was very busy but the bartenders were quick to greet us. Our table was ready quickly so we didn't order a beverage here but could see this as a nice place to enjoy a pre or post dinner cocktail. The atmosphere is upscale with white tablecloths and dark exposed beams, grand and modern chandeliers, and cozy fireplaces throughout. The lighting is perfectly dim, casting light from the fireplaces to make diners relaxed and looking their best in the glow of the fire...a plus for photos! I began with the Not an "old" fashioned - their old fashioned. It was simply perfect. Balanced and delicious and highly recommended if you enjoy bourbon. Our appetizer was the crab cake served over a soft shell and sliced tomato. One word - DIVINE. It was just so tasty and an ample portion to share. We also ordered the crab dip. It was decadent - rich and creamy with a bit of spice on the finish. It was served with a mini baguette. For dinner, I ordered the herb-crusted 10 oz prime rib and my husband ordered the heart of the ribeye - 10 ounces. Both ordered medium rare. Sides ordered were creamed spinach and double cheese-bacon potatoes. My prime rib came our first along with the spinach. Followed in seconds by the ribeye and potatoes. My prime rib unfortunately arrived raw. It was cold all around with not a hint of herbed crust and the smell of raw meat was strong. I touched it to see if it was at all warm, which it was not. Our server came right over and noticed that it wasn't cooked to my request. She took it back to the kitchen. So it wouldn't be enjoyed cold, I insisted that my husband enjoy his. He did and he really liked it. It was perfectly prepared, lightly seasoned, and he ate every bite. My prime rib was brought back and it was obvious that they flashed it as it was overly cooked throughout and tough. They took it back and prepared a new cut for me. Unfortunately, it too arrived just not prepared right. By this time the sides were cold as well. I took a few bites and really didn't want to make an issue of it. We had a lovely day so far and the appetizer was so yummy. The staff was great and accommodating without me even having to ask up to this point. They were also working very hard as it was the day after Christmas and they were busy! So, we simply moved on. Dessert time!! Hot Chocolate Lava Cake was ordered in advance as it takes some time to prepare. It was rich and decadent. Ice cream and heath bar topped the sinful delight. Definitely a winner. At the conclusion of our meal, the GM came over and apologized for the prime rib and acknowledged that it wasn't acceptable. She noted that we didn't get to enjoy the dinner together or sides due to timing. She kindly and without prompting removed the prime and sides from our bill. We were grateful and really impressed with the service and the communication from our server to management, even though we never complained. The team clearly takes pride in their jobs and in how their customers enjoy the experience. I am confident that the prime rib issues were just a fluke and don't represent their best. I'd try it again and we will definitely go back. Even when something goes not 100% right, you can still have a 5 star experience. As customers, it's important to understand that and give grace.
