Bar scene -- upstairs closed for private event

I've known this location since it served as the temporary restaurant for the AYC (post-fire). The off-water location continues to make it less attractive than other downtown options. At the time of this review, there is also major construction at the front of the property (as Annapolis builds a new waterfront park) ... So, we visited for happy hour pricing, rather than waterfront views. Still, the restaurant fell short :-( Happy Hour menu has been whittled down to non-premium beers (no IPA) though there are rail drinks and limited wines (no Rose). The upside is it's not that busy! The food options are okay -- the Tuna Stack was excellent, but the large Oysters Rockefeller were (tasty, but) served like warm and the crab dip was more dip than crab. Happy Hour prices are good, but not enough to keep me coming back for more. Maybe we'll be back post construction to see Annapolis' new waterfront park.

Seared Scallops with coconut mango rice and vegetables medley

We went on a beautiful Friday night and were seated quickly in the area that has the open windows, it was really nice because you could see the water from our table. Our waiter Hayes was awesome, he checked on us frequently and gave good recommendations. The crispy calamari we ordered for an appetizer was very good. For our entrees, we ordered the scallops that come with coconut mango rice and vegetables. I wasn't sure about the rice from the description but it was so good! It complemented the dish well. It was a very nice evening.

We originally had our sights set on a different restaurant, but the wait time was too long. We came across this place and figured, why not give it a try even though the Google rating was 3.8. Here's how it went: 1. Atmosphere: The interior felt more like a banquet hall or ballroom than a cozy dining spot. The restaurant is right on the water, which was nice, but the overall vibe didn't make up for the lackluster experience. 2. Service: * Our waitress seemed either very new or poorly trained she couldn't answer basic questions about the menu. * I ordered a blueberry lemon drop, and she came back saying the bartender was confused and thought I wanted two drinks. That was strange any experienced bartender should know what a blueberry lemon drop is. 3. Food: * Crab Dip: Fluffy texture, but tasted mostly like cream cheese with barely any crab flavor. * Fish Tacos: Underwhelming. The fish tasted undercooked and lacked seasoning. * Onion Rings: I received two completely different types of onion rings. When I asked about it, the waitress said, "They must've been cooked hard," which made no sense. * Fish and Chips: The fries were actually pretty good, but the fish itself was bland and flavorless. 4. Overall Experience: * Atmosphere needs improvement. * Service was slow and inconsistent. * Food quality didn't live up to expectations. If you're in the area and want to try it for yourself, go ahead but for me, it's a one-and-done visit.

Bang Shrimp

My wife and I came here on a Saturday for brunch. We both ordered the bottomless mimosas to drink. $12 for bottomless mimosas is an absolute steal! We ordered the Bang Shrimp as a starter and it was absolutely delicious! It was also the perfect size to share for 2 people. For entrees I ordered the crab and lobster omelette and my wife ordered the Maryland Benedict. Both of our entrees were absolutely amazing! The food was very good. Our waiter was very attentive at the beginning, but as more people came in we saw her less and less. It was not necessarily her fault though because it seemed like she was the only waiter. We also sat next to a window with a view of a huge construction site so that was a bit of an eye sore, especially when its advertised as being on the water. Our brunch experience was great and we would definitely come back.

The food was good, I really enjoyed it. I feel like the service was really good. Especially for the gentlemen that had us, because we we had a larger group. We all ended up having to sit upstairs because it was a lot of us. The drinks were not my favorite part as I couldn't get andonal Palmer, because something was going on with the tea. So I ended up having to get something else. But he worked with me to find something that I would like. I had a caesar salad and some bang bang shrimp. I will say that they had a large variety as far as the menu. My sister's had crab dip and some other pasta. Everyone ordered something different. And all of the food looked, taste and smelled good! The service was excellent and the manager Even came up and talked with us. The restaurant is in a akward area. But I like the fact that it is near the harbor. I would definitely go back! Very clean and overall good explore!

"Blackened" Chicken Alfredo-more like Cajun

Given that I am from Baltimore, home of the Atlas Restaurant Group, I was expecting so much more from this Annapolis Atlas Restaurant Group establishment. I feel that in Baltimore the Atlas restaurants are held to an extremely high caliber, but Latitude 38 missed the mark and was nowhere near the level of its Baltimore sister restaurants. The first place the establishment fell short, was no AC on a 90° plus day. Therefore, only one portion of the huge restaurant was open and that was the main dining room area. The hallways HOT, the bathroom HOT, it was a scorcher in there. The place wasn't packed at all and there were a lot of staff just standing around. Our server was inattentive, he only took our order and then came back to check on us but by that time we needed the check. He spent a lot of time having casual conversation with a neighboring table-unprofessional. He also forgot about a drink we ordered and the food runner actually ended up serving us the drink. I ordered the blackened chicken Alfredo which was more of a Cajun chicken Alfredo. You'll be able to tell by my pic that the chicken definitely wasn't blackened. I'd suggest updating the description to Cajun not blackened. There was also way more chicken in the dish than pasta and only about 4 broccoli florets in the dish. The garlic bread which accompanied the dish was tasty. All in all, based on this experience, I don't see myself going back. Cheers to a great time!

Double chocolate cake

We wanted a really nice night out and this seamed like the place, right on the water, great menu, nice ambience. What really made it stand out was the staff. I asked if we could have a birthday desert for my best friend and he said that they didn't do them anymore like they used to. But then he asked his manager and she said she would do it! It made her so happy!!! And I really appreciate that they both went above and beyond just to make our night special. The host also made our party size work last minute which was great of him. I will say, I was not blown away by the food. Not the best place on the square food wise BUT the best vibe wise. Everything I ate here was good just nothing that BLEW me away like other places in the area. The crab cream soup was AMAZING and the painkiller was great. Just the crab cake was a bit lacking. Just a little nitpick.

Outside view.

Can they be any nicer or more efficient? Such a lovely group working here. We went for lunch and had a great mahi Rueben and beet salad. The construction outside is making it tough for the team but they are very hospitable. Go even for a drink-the bar is perfect for someone looking for a break from touring town!

Had a 7:30 reservation, seated by 7:40. By 8:15 still not acknowledged. Left. Told the hostess. Her only response was "oh".

At Preserve, consistency is not the point, evolution is. Each visit feels slightly different,…read moreshaped by a menu that shifts with the seasons and refuses to coast on familiarity. That restlessness works in its favor. The space is compact, almost disarming at first. Then it settles around you. There is a quiet intimacy to the room, the kind that feels less designed and more lived in. It leans closer to a welcoming home than a polished dining room, without losing its sense of purpose. The food carries that same balance. Thoughtful, seasonal, and just unpredictable enough to keep you paying attention. Cocktails follow suit, measured and deliberate, never an afterthought. For Annapolis, where good options are not exactly rare, this place still manages to separate itself. It belongs firmly in the top tier of the city's dining scene, and it earns that position every time it changes the menu and starts over again.

This is a place that has lots of drinks and foods that have some unique and creative flavor profiles. We were greeted immediately and sat at bar. Server acknowledged us quickly and was very friendly. Checked on us throughout the time we were there. Ordered a tequila cocktail that was amazing. Highly recommend!!! So so good. Their cocktail menu has the spirit and then a description under of the drink. No actual names. Lots of interesting drinks. We grabbed a couple of apps. Got the pork bites and smoked fish dip. Both were tasty and had interesting flavors that worked. The portions were great. You can tell that great care and thought is put into to the menu. The burger and fries looked amazing - on special and lots of people around us were ordering it. Would have ordered that if we were eating a bigger meal. This is a gem of a place. Truly crafty food and drinks. Highly recommend trying them out. Would come back again.

I had to go grab a backpack, and when I returned 10 minutes later she ranted about how attentive to the table he was! They were busy(Saturday before Easter), but that attention to detail shined through the whole meal. Food came out spectacular, he remembered everything we asked for and was exceptionally patient with our 1.5 year old. Joshua made the experience wonderful, and made our anniversary even better. Thank you!

I had a mixed experience overall…read more I ordered the chicken and waffles. The fried chicken had good seasoning and flavor, which I did enjoy. However, the chicken was breast meat and sliced thin, which made it come across as dry. I did tell the server I liked it and didn't go into much detail since she seemed very busy and I didn't want to add stress in the moment. Still, it's not something I would personally order again. The waffle situation was more frustrating. I initially received cornmeal waffles, but I had told my server ahead of time that I strongly avoid cornmeal. She said she would substitute them, so I was surprised when the plate came out with the original cornmeal waffles. I didn't realize at first and ended up taking a bite before noticing. I let the server know and she had the kitchen remake it. The replacement Belgian waffles were overcooked and dense, so they didn't really improve the experience. The butter though was genuinely delicious, just very rich and more of a holiday-style flavor than something I'd personally crave in warmer weather. I also had a basic cup of coffee made with Rise Up Coffee Roasters, which was $4.50. That felt overpriced for what it was. I could have walked right across the street and had a specialty coffee from the source for very little extra cost, which honestly would have been the better choice. Overall, the experience had some clear issues, especially with the waffle mix-up and consistency, but it wasn't completely disappointing. I just don't think I would personally order the same meal again.

ABOUT THE AMBIANCE…read more Love the consistent, lively vibe at this Eastport restaurant/bar - seven days a week, it is sure to be clamoring with locals who pull-up by kayak and dingy (a 100-yd walk for the neighborhood dock) or walk in from homes nearby. Davis' is both people and dog friendly, allowing both species to chat it up, socialize and refuel. The outside sports a dozen a so picnic-style tables and a few high tops that bleed into the street. Shade is omnipresent once seated and servers kindly offer up water for your four-legged friends. There's a cozy park with seating just across the street from the hostess stand for those eagerly awaiting a table, right by the community dock. The inside of Davis' Pub is distinctly "bar" - replete with TVs and high tops - though there's a surprisingly large area for table service beyond the often-crowded bar. Don't expect anything slick or shiny here -- a fresh coat of paint may be tough to find. This is an authentic, worn Eastport treasure -- some use it as their comfortable watering hole, others for a cozy meal and a large swath to gather with friends.
