Went to Iron Rooster recently and overall had a really good experience. We started with the BBQ Rooster Bites and they were honestly delicious. They are definitely lighter on the sauce, so if that's your preference these are perfect. Personally, I like my wings a little saucier, so I would probably ask for extra sauce next time. The chicken itself was fried perfectly and the portion size was pretty solid. For my main, I got the buffalo chicken wrap with no buffalo sauce and it was amazing. The lettuce, guac, and pico all tasted fresh and paired really nicely with the breaded chicken in the wrap. My only complaint with it is they go pretty light on the guac and pico, so I wish there was a bit more of both. The pricing overall was fair too and didn't feel over the top for the quality and portions. The fries that came with the wrap deserve their own mention because they were phenomenal. Crispy golden brown on the outside with a soft, fluffy inside. Honestly, I'd come back just for the fries alone. I requested outdoor seating when making the reservation and they have a really nice outdoor section with a great atmosphere and view. They did a good job with the space they had, but the tables are pretty close together, so you can hear basically every conversation around you. The chairs were also a bit smaller and not the most comfortable for longer seating. Service was great all around. Our server was very polite and even helped my very undecided sister choose her meal. She said she would substitute them, so I was surprised when the plate came out with the original cornmeal waffles. I didn't realize at first and ended up taking a bite before noticing. Smoked Brisket Chili Omelet: This omelet was loaded with smoked brisket and chili, topped with cheddar, sour cream, green onions, and tortilla chips. We tried a crab soup (tomato base), a pop tart and their breakfast quesadilla. The berry pop tart came out first like an appetizer and it was HUGE and so delicious. They have features pop tart flavors that rotate monthly so be sure to ask, but we went with the old faithful mixed berry and found it to be warm, savory and delicious. My breakfast quesadilla was huge and stuffed with onions, tomato, eggs, cheese and chorizo. It was served with house potatoes and they were wonderful too. I want to come back just to eat this! As a first-time guest, I did not receive the level of customer service I was expecting. The food was good -- the mac and cheese was definitely my favorite part. However, the service was disappointing. Our server did not mention happy hour. When we asked about it about eight minutes later, she told us it had just ended. I also asked for mayo on my sandwich and was told it would be brought on the side. After my food was delivered, I waited about five minutes but she never returned with it. I eventually had to get up and find the mayo myself. She also never checked in to see if we needed anything, even though it was early in the morning and there were no other customers in my seating area. Some friends & i were excited to have brunch here, it looked nice with a great menu but before we even got sat we were getting looked up and down from the staff... not sure if it was racial as we are a diverse group of friends but off the bat felt a little uncomfortable. I got the Bagels & Lox which came out last of the food for our table which is odd because a simple bagel you wouldn't think would take so long with roasted potatoes- i was so disappointed with the ratio of cream cheese on the bagels as it barely had any on it. I had to go grab a backpack, and when I returned 10 minutes later she ranted about how attentive to the table he was! I had a large group of 14 adults and 4 children and was looking for a place in downtown Annapolis for brunch. Iron rooster made it so easy to book a reservation when I called and asked if it was possible. Then, the morning of, our group size changed to 8 adults and 2 children; when I called ahead, they said "easy, no problem". When we arrived, our table was all set up with 8 chairs and 2 high chairs. Our waiter Ethan was incredibly accommodating. I know large groups can be difficult for numerous reasons, but he showed us nothing but patience and kindness. The food was stellar, all our orders were correct, we didn't have to wait long, and at the end, Ethan split all of our checks with a smile! He was an excellent waiter, and Iron Rooster was the right choice for Sunday brunch for our group. We will surely be back and I can't recommend this spot enough. read more

It pairs well with goat cheese and balsamic glaze. We also got French toast and chicken. The French toast you really need to put the syrup on it. The chicken is southern chicken.
