I found my crab spot in the neighborhood. One of my neighbors recommended this spot. This is the carryout location. Upon entering I was greeted promptly. I told the cashier that I wanted a dozen of large females crabs. She told me that they would be arriving at 4pm. That I could take a card and call in the order at that time. I did just that and was told that I could pick them up at 5. The crabs did not disappoint! The large females were $59 they were piping hot and so satisfying. I love both male and female crabs. So I would purchase both. My neighbor said they make a good shrimp Salad as well. I will be purchasing that as well on my next visit. They have if you order online for the first time you can get a 5% discount. I most definitely will be back! Update: Went back for this Louisiana crawfish because I was super excited to see them up here. I'm from Texas where we have big crawfish boils in the spring but rarely see them in Maryland. Unfortunately they were not fresh and tasted old. Apparently they cook them the day before and heat them back up when you order them. I was bummed because i thought they would keep them live and cook them fresh to order but this wasn't the case. A bit disappointed! read more

I've been to Seaside twice since the pandemic began. The first time, I treated myself to a dozen crabs for my birthday back in April. The second time was a few weeks ago in which I got crabs for someone else. They are currently trying to make their ordering and pick-up process as seamless and contactless as possible. You place your order over the phone or online. When you arrive, you call them to let them know that you have arrived. They will ask you what parking space you're in or the type of car you're in and come out to your car to accept payment and give you your food. They will not let you inside the building so it's best to look at their menu online and call for crab availability before going there. Expect a little bit of a wait when you arrive, especially if the parking lot is full of cars. As far as the crabs, they were tasty and steamed to perfection with the right amount of seasoning. I ended up getting a dozen regular males and I thought that was the perfect amount since I was just eating crabs by myself. They full of meat so no complaints there. This is the carryout location. Friendly and professional staff. I ordered a half and half crab soup b3cause I love it and I knew it would be amazing. Meh. But don't let me hold you. The MD crab soup and the cream of crab don't NEED each other to be great. The MD crab is its own soup. Bursting with flavor. It's what you think when you think md crab soup. No tag ins or cosigning needed. Solid 4 stars soup. Now the cream of crab is a bit of a conundrum. Like where to put your mind. Some people like their crab of cream loosey goosey soup with no bones or weight to it. It's basically hot cream with crab and parsley OR you like that elmers glue paste soup that you can also use to paper mache (that's how old I am. Who remembers paper mache? Lol). This cream of cram sits in the middle of those two. Not too flavorful but loaded with crab meat and slightly thick. Meh. I wouldn't order it again. We normally get crabs here a few times a season. Not anymore. $120 for two dozen dry crabs. I am 52, I have had plenty of crabs, and I know when the crabs are re-steamed. These are dry as dirt. Every single claw crumbles apart when you try and pick them and a handful were bright green inside and the meat was shriveled up. This was the most disappointing year with them. And when contacted I was told to pack them back up and bring them back. Middle of picnic, that's not possible, you don't stand behind your product, done with you. read more

I purchased two dozen #1 Crabs this weekend and they were disgusting. They had enough seasoning on them that I could have packaged it and sold at least 2lbs of it. The crabs were extremely salty from the seasoning and the claw meat were all tough and rubbery. The crabmeat itself was extremely salty as well. Some of the crabs were smaller than #1's and some had holes in the shells, missing claws and some looked like they had been previously cooked due to color was not the same shade as most. My wife and I went for an early dinner and wanted some seafood. Seaside Seafood was a gem of a find. This was close to our hotel room. My wife ordered the single crab cake which came with coleslaw, and hush puppies. I ordered an appetizer of clams casino and a cocktail. The crab cake was lump crab meat with just enough bread crumbs to bind it together. She said it was awesome. The coleslaw was very good, since she rarely eats coleslaw. We shared her hush puppies and they were sooooo good. My clams casino was made with bacon and cheese and was excellent. Amy, our server, was spot on with the service and checked up on us frequently. They automatically add an 18% gratuity to your bill, which was fine by me. Excellent restaurant, excellent service, and superb food. The only drawback that I see is limited parking, although additional parking is available nearby. read more

My husband and I hosted a wedding event here for 80 guests, and we were completely disappointed with the day. Six weeks prior we had agreed on a contact with the head chef and we did not completely receive what we asked/contracted for. For example, instead of Jerk chicken we received BBQ chicken; we never received roasted sweet potato as agreed in the contract, the jerk shrimp pasta was more of a creamy alfredo pasta with small pieces of shrimp. Overall it was a complete disaster. What made matters worse is that the location is advertised with a "swimmable beach." However, I repeat, this place is NOT swimmable. One of our guest found a syringe needle near the beach side- it is definitely not safe for children. I am not one to ordinarily write negative reviews but I encourage anyone who intends to host an event of any magnitude here to ask questions in advance- especially when planning from out of the country. read more

This little restaurant has such great food and service! We consider this place a neighborhood gem. My husband and I have eaten inside and from their carry out here for years. Most recently we were her for a dinner of about 20 people and boy did those servers treat us well. Two of them moved efficiently and with the best attitudes up and down the crowded isles to get drinks and hot food choices just right. Everything was delicious and I know from my own sumptuous crab cakes , a taste of my husband's fried fish, a few bites of the crab dip appetizer, and all of the remarks from the dinner party! Some guests had their crabs which, even though a bit pricy, were full and delicious. Those ladies stayed focused on each order and made course corrections with no fuss. I like this place and it's close to home. So no driving all over the place looking for crabs. I ordered a dozen medium female crabs and a dozen large shrimp. I liked the seasoning on both the crabs and shrimp. You can place your order online or over the phone. Their website says that inventory is up by 10am even though they open at 11am. I've only been able to get females here once. They sell out fairly quickly so I wouldn't get my hopes up for crabs on the weekend or evenings unless you call or place your order for pickup later in the day. Overall, the females were meaty and all but 1-2 had eggs, which I like especially with butter. read more

Picked up a bushel of medium male crabs before I went on vacation 7/24/2021 and I was driving up to Pa with crabs on board! They were smelling so good on my 3 1/2 drive. When we finally reached our destination we busted open the box of crabs! They were still warm and smelling good! The crabs did NOT disappoint . I've been getting crabs at Seaside for many years and these were by far the best we've had ! The males were heavy and seasoning was great! Even the claws were big and filled with meat. I have been going to Seaside for over 30 years. I moved out of the area and I came back just to get crabs and shrimp. Oh my goodness it was wonderful! The price is high but it was worth it. I highly recommend this place. They have always been great. I live an hour away but I'd rather go there for seafood then to go to the fishmarket right outside my front door. I'm dropping the mic! A co-worker forwarded me a pic of her crabs. Mind you I had been wanting some anyway. They looked so well seasoned and delish that I asked her where she got them and she said this place. Well I called and placed the order. (No inside) Order on phone and they bring to your car which I though was great. I was pleasantly surprised. Each crab (I ordered females) was larger than I anticipated and each one was heavy. None of that trickery other places do like heavy on top and all light and small on bottom. Nope! Each one was heavy, perfectly seasoned and even the way they were layered in the bag was impressive. I drove a distance to get them but each mile and every penny was worth it. I had ordered 12lbs of snow crab legs for a 4th of July cookout and not only were they huge crab legs, they were spiced so well that I didn't need to add anything additional to them. You definitely get what you pay for with Seaside and service was quick. I placed two separate orders and each one took no more than 10 mins to complete and that was during a very busy holiday. I stopped by here today after work and I was very happy with my decision. This place is nice. It has a good lay out and the food was pretty good. I didn't like the Maryland crab soup, it tasted old. However the New England clam chowder was delicious! They have bad crackers to accompany the soup, so skip those. I also ordered crab legs, they were expensive but SO SO SO delicious. I was actually incredibly shocked by how amazingly good they were. If I had only gotten the crab legs they'd get 5 stars for sure! read more

I stopped by to get crabs after trying crabs at other places and really didn't feel like I've had a GOOD crab yet for the year. Cons: I had to wait a lot longer than I was told. I was told it would be a 25 minute wait and it turned into a 1+ hour wait. Pros: They were vey apologetic for the wait and gave me 1/2 dozen of extra medium males. Got the grabs home, lined the table with paper, got out the Coors Light and dug in. These crabs were on point! I was not disappointed and finally feel like I got my "crab fix". They are more expensive than other places, but their crabs are not small, so it's worth it. The medium males look like large at other places.
