I came here for crabs since this location is closer to home, and my past experience on Riva Road had me excited to do it again. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to my expectations. The all-you-can-eat crabs are only available Wednesday through Saturday, and when we went, the crabs were much smaller than I prefer--just not as satisfying to pick through. There's an automatic 18% gratuity added, which I wouldn't normally mind, but it did make me wonder if that contributed to our server's lack of attentiveness. We barely saw them, and our drink orders took a while to arrive. The waterfront views are definitely a highlight, but between the small crabs and the lackluster service, I don't think I'll be returning to this location. read more

My friend and I decided to go for the all-you-can-eat crabs. Pull up to the parking lot. It didn't appear to be too crowded. We arrived a little after 7pm. The first thing we see is a sign on the store stating no all-you-can-eat crabs. BID DISAPPOINTMENT. OK so we get past that. I can't remember how much the offered the medium crabs for but, the offered a dozen of large for $100.00 a dozen. Ok so we decided to order the large and an order of the crab dip shrimp. The crabs were a big disappointment as far as size. Some were meaty and some were not. The crab dip shrimp was pretty delicious. I ordered an hybrid crush which had orange and grapefruit in it. I didn't care for that at all. I then ordered a creamsicle crush. It was definitely better than the hybrid crush. Overall the dining experience was ok. The outdoor seating had an amazing view. It was awesome watching the sunset. I did place a carryout order of steamed shrimp, coconut shrimp and the crab cake sandwich with fries that came with a pickle spear. That order was to eat the following day. Now what I can say is I enjoyed all of my carryout food. It was delicious. I even shared with my sister. I would come again but, I wouldn't set my mind on getting crabs or drinks. read more

The all you can eat crabs are legit! Seasoned well and large. Sitting on the patio is a great view. Unfortunately they don't have them on holidays so keep that in mind. The hush puppies, pizza, and shrimp are good too! The first orange crush I had from here was excellent...then when I came back it was terrible and I couldn't even drink it. Super disappointing. Everything was delicious. Hot and made to order. The crabs were fresh and delicious. The Crab Oysters and Crab Stuffed Shrimp were such a great appetizer. The Snow Crab legs were meaty. The drinks were strong and on point. Ask for John he was the perfect server. Friendly, courteous, he made some great food recommendations, anticipated my every needs and when it was time to bring me a nice cold beer to go with my crabs. On 6 July, at the recommendation of a friend, I traveled out to Pasadena to eat at Mike's. I was absolutely NOT disappointed! The food, ambiance, and service were worth the trip. I ordered buffalo shrimp, cream of crab soup, fried green tomatoes, a crab cake sandwich with fries, and a delicious margarita on the rocks with salt. Me and my friends decided to patronize At this establishment today It was a 2 1/2 hour wait for outside seating so we decided to sit at the bar And wait once our table become available we went outside once our table became available It took the server another 20 minutes to come to the table. Her name was Angel. She had a very nasty attitude and had nasty unsanitary stuff around her mouth so we requested a new waiter that took another 35 minutes which we were informed unlimited Crabs is not served after a certain time after we had waited 2 1/2 hours. But he insisted we will be served and took care of well we received one order of crabs for table of 4 ok we requested more once we had 2 crabs left outside sitting area was swarm with flying insects most of everybody outside eating got up from their table because it was so many insects flying around us No one offered inside sitting until went inside and complained about flying insects we were seated inside and still waiting for our crabs to come to our table still nothing after 20-25 mins service was horrible and manager again didn't help or apologize or anything and i like mikes Pasadena bartender inside waiting area was amazing i been several time but also noticed anyone of color was treated very differently than that wasn't i will not be returning to this location ever again. So, had a hankering for crabs so we went to Mikes North in Pasadena. Hubby doesnt eat crabs so he asked what "market price" was on the Broiled Seafood Combo was. We were told $21.00 by our server, so that is what he got with a salad and fries while I got the AYCE crabs. The server was beyond unattentive. We waited 30 minutes before any food came to the table, then 25 minutes after being seated, Hubby's entre came before his salad - still no crabs. He was 1/2 way thru his salad before seing a live salad bug. Needless to say, waiter was called and salad was sent back. 10 minutes later, he returned with another salad and my crabs. Waiter was almost invisible. We did get 1 drink refill and 1 refill of crabs. Asked for the check and noticed the price on the seafood combo was $38 not $21 as we were told. When we asked, the reply was "hmm, they must have just raised the price - last week it was $21". We asked to speak to a manager - who took forever to come to the table. Her response was "oh no, just the crabcake alone is $21. He is new and today is his 1st day. It has never been that price, sorry. I'll have to talk to him". And walks away to find him. In addition to paying $17 more for a meal than expected, you automatically pay 18% gratuity for the AYCE no matter how bad the service is. Dont get me wrong, Im not asking for anything free, but if you quote me a price, I expect to be charged that price. Nothing was done to resolve the problem. Our nephew, his new bride and his dad took my sister and I here as we were visiting from the West coast. We had a tray of crabs, French fries and nutty buddies for dessert. The place is very busy and in a great location. As busy as they were, we were able to be seated at a table inside right away. Service was great and the atmosphere was pretty cool. It was good to have a great time catching up, eating some good grub with family. I took two different sets of friends to this location last year. We all had an amazing time. The rules for the AYCE are no joke haha! Last year the last seating was at 2 this year its 7pm! Exciting :). We will go again this weekend, cannot beat the price of the AYCE crabs, they are medium sized but you have to know you aren't getting jumbo's for that price right? Mike's puts cream in their crab cakes, according to the manager on duty when we went. This is not mentioned on the menu. NOT a good thing for folks that can't eat dairy and definitely NOT a Maryland style crab cake. Service was slow and obviously understaffed. What can I say about my experience dining here at Mikes today with my family. It did not meet our expectations, the crab was good, we ordered 1/2 dozen, although we only ate 4 1/2, they served little hot butter and it became hard very quickly, we ordered mahi mahi with crab and the fish had no flavor and was not good I shout out what I can think that they took it out of the freezer and heated it, there was no time to defrost and cook it, there was a need to add salt and lemon to eat the parts that were cooked, I ordered the crab cake and I gave it a 3 for not having good seasoning. They bring you sauces for you to dip but you are paying a very high price not to enjoy and savor the food, it is definitely not something to return to, and the price is overestimated by the experience. Our first visit. We had the crab dip, crab cake, and fried shrimp. Everything was cooked to order and I enjoyed my drink. Atmosphere was nice. We sat indoors as it was extremely hot outside. Our waitress was also very pleasant. We will definitely be visiting again as I was interested in crab legs.
