Went to celebrate my birthday on Sunday and Kate was AMAZING. She recomended drinks based on what we liked, and the food was amazing.

First time going was on a Tuesday and I was very amazed. 1/2 price crabs!!! And they had all sizes, the jumbos did not disappoint. But what really impressed me was how quickly they came out. It was back to back service, multiple waiters checking in on you to make sure the buckets with the shells are emptied and that you have everything you need. It was crowded, I heard that Tuesdays are packed because of the great priced crabs. I also had the 1/2 & 1/2 cream of crab and crab soup , had lots of crab in it and very well seasoned. This spot was recommended to us for a spot to go for lunch in the area. Most people eating here were having crabs. Their tables had paper and hammers on them. The people eating the crabs looked super happy. For myself and my spouse we both ordered salads. We also had a side of hushpuppies. The salads were so good. The lettuce was a nice blend and variety. Fifers is back to a restaurant that serves a full range of food, along with a full range of beers. One of the best liquor selections in the area. Crab legs at $25 a pound, in $10 off per pound on Mondays..., How can you go wrong? I quit coming here a few years ago because I got rid of their upstairs bar, and sitting downstairs could be kind of rough at times. All that has all changed. I came here tonight as my first time based on a Facebook ad about half priced crabs on Tuesdays. Upon walking in a lady was sitting at the counter playing on her phone. She is in a polo shirt so I assumed someone in management. She played on her phone for a few seconds and then asked "do you need something" I told her it was my first time and I was interested in the crab. She pointed to a younger girl next to her and said she will help you. The girl was already busy helping someone else so I continued to wait. Well according to the staff it's only on larger. 6 large is $25 which Is pretty pricey, I asked to clarify "so 6 crab is normally $50 she said yes. I came back in to pick up the order the same woman in the polo shirt was having a very personal and gossiping conversation with a patron. She did not attempt to help even though she saw me. There was a system issue with being offline the girl asked the woman in the polo for help she quipped "go ask _____" I didn't understand the name. The woman at the counter almost left but was stopped saying it should only take a few minutes. Neither one of them offered to grab my food even though they both saw me. I had to say to the woman at the counter "excuse me" so I could approach and then I didn't have to ask for the food they just gave it to me. Completely unprofessional and furthermore unwelcoming staff. I will never come back to this place or recommend any of my colleagues to come here . Went here for the all you can eat deal for $89.99 on a Saturday evening. The dining area on the bar side was not crowded at all. The server came right over and we were seated quickly. We were given menus and asked if we would be eating crabs? After confirming that we would be doing the all you can eat they then placed the brown paper on the table. He came back with waters. We ordered crabs, snow crabs, shrimp, fish and a crab pretzel. There was a nice selection of items that you could order. I also ordered a watermelon crush which was pretty tasty. The staff were rude and enforced different rules depending on the guest. I went here for crabs after being highly recommended. The crabs were good but the staff made it very uncomfortable. The staff started to justify why rules that was not discussed when I arrived at 2pm was being enforced at 5pm when the audience changed. I will not visit again. read more

We stopped in here and was pleasantly surprised. The place had a good crowd the music was good, the games were on and you could tell everyone was comfortable. The waiter greeted us quickly and helped with our dinner choices. He was cool, nice, honest, and knowledgeable. The food came out fast, hot and was very tasty. The fish was big and meaty, not much breading, perfect crisp. I've been ranting about the fish and chips to the point everyone ate it lol. I recently visited Fifers and had a very disappointing and upsetting experience with a staff member who identified himself as Phil (though his name is Nick). During our visit, he spoke in a rude and disrespectful manner regarding my 2-year-old autistic nephew. Instead of showing any level of understanding, patience, or professionalism, he walked past our table and said, "you need to take him outside, he's loud." The tone and delivery were completely inappropriate. What made the situation even more disheartening is that this behavior didn't just affect the adults--it upset my 6-year-old niece, who clearly understood that speaking to people that way is not acceptable. No family should feel disrespected or singled out, especially when dining out with children, and especially when a child has special needs. There was a complete lack of compassion and basic customer service. Situations involving young children, particularly those with autism, require empathy--not judgment. I hope management takes this seriously and provides proper training on how to interact respectfully with all guests. Until then, I would think twice before returning. read more

I have been to Fifer's several times, however it had been a couple of years since the last time. Good news - It has not changed. Great ambiance, always excellent food, great service and a decent draft list. In the past I always got the Fish & Chips but decided to try the Chicken Caesar Wrap. My wife got the Fish & Chips. Both were awesome. The Fish & Chips comes with 4 pieces of fish - no skimping here. Jonah was our server and he was efficient and a nice guy. I definitely recommend this place. Got food and drinks from fifers and couldn't help but notice the lady at the carry out eating while helping customers, preparing food, using the phone, touching equipment, handling money, and using her cellphone, other management duties, and never once had the idea to wash her hands. Numerous local restaurants use dairy in their crab cakes. Cream is the most popular addition. Not a good thing for folks that can not eat dairy. Fifer's makes Maryland style cakes that are simply amazing. No dairy! Couple that with friendly and efficient service and a warm "neighborhood " ambiance and there are no reasons not to dine here. Stubbled across this restaurant after being disappointed from leaving another seafood restaurant that could not accommodate our party of 5 for all you can eat seafood in the same area. Lets just say we left Fifers Seafood Restaurant completely satisfied. The staff (Jade,Amanda, Mindy and Tee) they all made sure we was accommodated in the most professional way. The food just kept flowing every time they saw a tray getting low, the cocktails were definitely on point and the hospitality was truly amazing. We have already set a date to return soon along with some other guests and I guarantee they will not leave disappointed. This is going to be one of our go to spots from now on. Took my mom to dinner. We ordered two beers, two cups of half and half crab soup, fried shrimp and a burger. We received everything but the shrimp and burger. The server checked on us and saw that we did not receive our meals. She came back a moment later and said it should be out on a few moments. I actually had to make a yelp account to leave this review because I have never been so appalled in my life. 2 stars because our food and service was overall pretty good. Whoever the woman at the front counter is, I'm assuming a manager by the way she was bossing everyone around her around, should not be allowed to work in any restaurant. Haven't been to fifers in years, so my husband and I decide to swing by while out shopping. We walked in and didn't know if we could seat ourselves so we just stood there for a second while this woman was eating and what it looked like to be playing games on her phone. She looked up at us and looked right back down onto her phone. After eating and touching her mouth she then turned around and bagged up someone's food without washing her hands, THEN finally looks at us and says "do you need something"? I asked her if we were supposed to seat ourselves and she replied "yup" and sat right back down and back on her phone! We sat at the bar and after asking the bartender about what was new, my husband made a comment about the woman at the door not being friendly. The couple next to us looked over and said "oh yeah that's the manager, she's always nasty to everyone, even though we're here once a week and spend good money here". We were tempted to say something to her on the way out but instead asked where the owner was, she responded "not here" and looked right back down at her phone. Our food, drinks, and service are the only reason we will ever consider coming back. If this woman is really the manager, I hope they put her in the office away from customers as her face and attitude will probably drive everyone away. read more

Had never been to Fifer's before, but got some great local recs for seafood by the pound here. We were surprised to see it wasn't overly crowded with it being the weekend of the Fourth and all. For our first crabs of the season, we defffffinitely went a little overboard with all that we got: - King Crab Legs - Snow Crab Legs - Steamed Shrimp - Steamed Scallops - Steamed Mussels I'm glad we went with the King and Snow Crab because they were so meaty and sweet, with way less work lol. We had the option to take it home to cook ourselves or have it steamed on premise, but opted to leave it to the experts. They even gave us some paper for the table at home. Pricing was comparable to other crab houses or fish markets, although scallops came in slightly higher. We plan on returning for more crabs this summer - maybe give the restaurant items a try too. read more

Just recently went back to fifers after hearing it's under new management and that they planned on bringing it back to the way it used to be, especially the all you can eat seafood special. They definitely impressed me. They had everything on the seafood list available unlike in the past where they never had Dungeness crab, or ran out of clams. They had everything, and they weren't stingy with the portions. They gave us full trays freshly steam of what we asked for. All the food was good. The new fried shrimp were awesome and a must try. The ladies waiting on us were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place for the all you can eat seafood menu. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the price on the all you can eat seafood menu per person has shot up significantly. This was my first time trying this place and I will be going back for the Fried Shrimp! Big & Tasty & seasoned well! I didn't like the Maryland Crab or the Cream of Crab. The MD Crab Soup was very thick & the crab was stringy & could've used vegetables which would have set off the tomato taste of the soup. The cream of crab had more of a milky taste & the crab in it was tasteless. We began with crabs, mussels, steamed shrimp and fried oysters(raw options were unavailable, nota problem). All well prepared and seasoned but the mussels should be served in a separate dish. When paired with other proteins, you have no base/"juice". It's all presented together if you order more than one item. The wings were really good. I requested well done and crispy coating. I got exactly what I wanted with good customer service. We then chose corn on the cob, Snow Crab Legs, hush puppies and clams(fried). All good. The hush puppies could be better but we ARE here for SEAFOOD! We tried all but a few items. I would recommend sticking to the seafood. The environment was lively, but we didn't have to wait for a table when we arrived around 5:30pm on a Thursday. The food, drinks, and service were great however we will not be returning nor recommending Fifers to anyone because of the laxed facemask use of their employees. One waitress in particular, the blonde slender girl with the studded black mask, was walking around the entire time we were there with her mask around her ears but pulled down below her nose and mouth. She came over to our table, put her hands on the table, and leaned about half way across it to ask if she could take our unused menus. We weren't happy about that. I'm going to preface this with I am super particular about my food. Also my neighbors have all hyped this place up so much over the last year, that I had high expectations. Service We sat in the bar area and the service was excellent. The servers all rotate to cover the area, which is nice as you get checked on quite a bit. The food arrives super fast, like lightening quick. They definitely have the customer service part down pat. Menu The menu had a good amount of combo meal options and all you can eat. If I was into scallops, mussels and clams I would've gotten one. All priced fairly and had a good variety. I like the idea of this for those folks that want to sample all they have to offer. This was different than other places I have been. Great job on that. Crab Pretzel Good flavor and cheese, the only issue was the ratio of crab dip to pretzel was not adequate. Definitely needed a thicker spreading of the crab dip. Pretzel was a little tough on the bottom. This was the better of the two things I ordered. Shrimp Salad Wrap I went with this over the Chesapeake burger. I should've gone with the burger only because I've already had the best shrimp salad at this Jewish deli in Baltimore thats been around for decades, so Fifer's had big shoes to fill and they did not compare. Positives: Their version had good flavor, good mayo ratio, and a good amount of shrimp. The French fries were delicious. Worth the $1 up charge to get them. My friend had it with the house made chips and those looked good and you could tell them were homemade. Dislikes: they use tiny shrimp, and they don't clean the shrimp (meaning butterfly them to clean out the back). Again I am super picky. All in all it was good, simply isn't the best. Next time I'll give the burger a chance since the crab dip for the pretzel was very good. I would recommend Fifer's, as it was good. read more

Good food. It's more like a hole in the wall kinda place which I love because the service was excellent! Servers were attentive and great. The food : I ordered old bay wings & crab dip as appetizer. Wings were delicious (had them fry it extra crispy). The dip was okay. Too cheesy and not a lot of crab meat in it. I think I barely tasted any. Also had a dozen blue point oysters & the haddock fish and chip with fries, seafood pizza and seafood Alfredo. I am picky with my fries however with some old bay on it - makes it taste amazing.
