Crafty Crab Hanover is conveniently located right in the food court area of Arundel Mills Mall, making it an easy stop during a shopping trip. We ordered the crabcakes, which came with two cakes. The crabcakes themselves were tasty, and I really liked the sauce that came with them. Fries were nice and crispy too. We also got half a dozen oysters for $13.99, but unfortunately they didn't seem very fresh, which was a little disappointing. They offer a solid happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 PM with drink specials. Our server, Isiah, was absolutely wonderful. He was knowledgeable about the menu, and very patient while we asked questions. Service was definitely 100%. Party of 3 on Friday evening at 5, thankfully not super crowded. Server was excellent (may be Krystin), very attentive, came to our table immediately. Placed our order which came out quickly. Drinks have been great in the past, had bottled and beer on tap today. Food never disappoints, seafood boil is always great, fried catfish gives you a very large serving and it's excellent. Located in Arundel Mills directly across from Live! Ambiance is very casual, come as you are and bring the little ones, a family friendly place. They have several large tables in the restaurant and some tables in the mall area if you want to be kind of patio like but inside lol! They also have a mega TV in the bar area if that is your vibe. Great seafood at an affordable price. We ordered a large seafood platter that included Snow Crab, Whole Shrimp, Crawfish, Mussels, Clams, Corn, and Potatoes. The portion was big enough for at least three people. What I liked most was the option that the sauce was on the side per my request. Everything was fresh and tasty enough without the sauce! There were several different sauces available, I ordered buttery garlic which was great! We also ordered chicken salad and broccoli. The chicken was fried for the salad, i wish they were grilled. The staff here will give you recommendations depending on what you're looking for. Although it's located in the mall food court, it still feels like a standalone restaurant. You can easily sit in a booth or regular chairs at the table. I highly recommend the fried shrimp basket if you're a fan on shrimp. It came with potatoes and corn and it was the perfect amount of food! I'm not stuffed, but I'm not hungry either. Service: pretty good with some mild hiccups with allergies. I brought a list of my allergies to come prepared but they said they used green bean oil. I looked it up, and that doesn't even exist and I questioned it. They insisted it was green bean oil, then the manager brought me a picture of the oil and it was canola. Other than that, it went well! I had a very disappointing experience at Crafty Crab. I came here with my family for a seafood boil, and right from the start, several items that were supposed to come with our table order were missing. While I was eating, I found a long piece of hair stuck to the crab. I immediately called our waitress, JAI and showed it to her. Instead of apologizing or handling the situation professionally she said, "Oh no, that's just the shrimp," even though it was clearly hair. I removed the hair myself and placed it on a plate. She then snatched the seafood boil bag off the table and walked away to the back without explaining what would happen next or giving us any guidance. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable eating. She did not return for about 30 minutes, and we were left confused about what we were supposed to do. I eventually asked another waitress for help, who said she would contact our assigned waitress. We waited another 15 minutes with no response. Finally, I asked for a manager. When the manager came over they brought the bill, which I paid for the seafood. After that, the waitress came back to the table and I told her that she should have at least communicated with us about what was going on. She responded angrily and said, "I ain't arguing with you." The lack of hygiene, poor communication, and unprofessional attitude completely ruined our experience. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

I was craving steamed seafood. I decided to try the Crafy Crab in Hanover. The Crafty Crab is located across from the Cheesecake Factory at Arundel Mills. This location offers a full bar with patio seating. The staff were good. I ordered a steam bag with shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab. Of course, you can add sausage, boiled eggs, corn, and potato to your bag. I had the cajun and garlic sauce added to my bag. Everything was great. The seafood was fantastic. Went to the crafty crab to celebrate our Sorority Sister coming to Maryland from Florida. We received our boil pots with scant amount of boom sauce to cover the seafood in our bags. The sauce looked like it was shaken on our food like pepper. We spoke with the manager to see why this occurred and was told by Nora the manager that the amount of sauce was warranted by the amount of seafood in our bags per pound. We asked to pay for extra boom sauce, and no sauce was brought to our tables after 10 minutes. Our waitress went in the back and brought out 1 side boom sauce for 6 people. We were told that's all the sauce we were getting even when asking to pay for it. My funny little honey ordered a half dozen raw oysters (eww - none for me, thanks) and the snow crab special, and I stuck with an old reliable - fried shrimp basket with good ol' french fries. Everything was delicious, our server was great and always around and the ambiance was nice - with the exception of a table full of kids next to us who were not only singing along to "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepson playing on the jukebox, but were getting the words wrong! It's NOT "so here's my number so call me baby"). So why not a perfect five star rating? Don't get me wrong - you'll enjoy the food. But the sausage in the seafood boil had a few pieces that were too hard to chew, and our server didn't bring us bibs (perhaps they had to be by request). This 5 star moment is solely for Charles and his stellar customer service! This past weekend while Holiday shopping we stopped at this location for a quick bite and drinks. Due to the holiday traffic the restaurant was moving a lot slower than previous experiences. When we expressed that we still hadn't been assisted after 10+ mins of being seated, he quickly jumped in to aide the server for our section. He even went above taking our order with drink recommendations and friendly conversation to redirect the tone of our night! His follow up even after our server became available was top tier! With his help, we enjoyed our food and beverages plus we still made it to our movie on time! Thanks again Charles! Regarding the restaurant in general, it is our go to location for seafood boils as they are constantly delicious. Visited this place while attending a conference. Being from Cali we're skeptical about fresh seafood in other places, but given the location decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! I had the crab cake sandwhich and was blown away! It was perfectly seasoned, moist and sitting on a bun as soft as an expensive pillow. I followed it with a slice of cake and was sent into a beautiful food coma. I don't recall what everyone else ordered, but I do recall the smiles on their faces! My 2 kids and I went to this location on Sunday November 16th 2025, around 4:00 pm for dinner. I wanted the table outside so it will be convenient bc of our stroller and shopping bags, host sat us on the table we wanted. We sat for 30 minutes and nobody came over, not even to say hello and or take drinks or even greet us to say something. Servers kept coming to the 8 people table that was next to us, he kept coming back and forth and just looking at us like nothing else is going on. After waiting more than 30 minutes, we left. I would make sure to mention this on a google review as well. Have to retrain your people, just because a guy with 2 toddlers show up, doesn't mean I would not get any service. I ordered the King Crab with potatoes, corn, and sausage. Side note: The link didn't taste like Andouille sausage. I selected "The Bomb Sauce," a combo of all the sauces. It was a salty hot mess and far from "The Bomb." I was disappointed because I'm a seafood lover and expected a better experience. My son enjoyed his seafood boil and octopus appetizer. He did state the draft beer was a little flat. Also, the Hush Puppies we shared were good. While this wouldn't be my choice for a seafood restaurant, it might be someone else's. And while the server was very personable and friendly, he disappeared for long stretches so I didn't have the opportunity to request any. I found myself rationing my drink because I had no idea when I'd see him again. Another issue was the wings were served with my dinner and I requested them as an appetizer. I felt like I had to choose which food I wanted to eat while it was still hot. The food was delicious but service wasn't the greatest. We were seated immediately and it wasn't super busy, multiple empty tables around us and all over. We waited for almost 20 mins without anyone ever coming over to take drink orders or anything. Eventually a group was seated next to us and a server came out within a few minutes and took their orders and I had to grab their attention to get a drink and food orders in. Drinks came out after the food eventually arrived. We got a 10% discount for our troubles so that was something. I wouldn't go out of my way to go eat there again but the food was delicious.
