Excellent customer service. Fresh and yummy wings. But most importantly they are extremely clean.

    Slim Chickens

Not gonna lie, I held out on coming here after I saw the lines around the block for Canes, but I…read morenever saw Slim Chickens receive the same kind of welcome. I had previously gotten caught up in the Canes hype myself, but quickly realized that the chicken was mid, and the sauce carries that whole franchise. I was also put off by how all of a sudden This area had quickly become the fried chicken capital of Maryland, with all these new chicken spots opening. Roaming Roosters, Canes, 2 Royal Farms, Wing Stop, Popeyes, Nandos, Miski (R.I.P.), Dat Jerk (McJamaican), Bon Chon, The Chicken Shack, and still to come Big Chicken which is owned by Shaq will be opening somewhere in the area. It just seems like a lot. To the point i heard someone refer to this area as "The Chicken strip" lol However, I was on Grubhub one night and decided to give it a try. I got a chicken sandwich with Korean BBQ sauce that I wasn't crazy about. The sandwich was just completely soaked with sauce and was sloppy, I wasn't feeling it. I also ordered the wings with cayenne ranch dry rub, and they were absolute fire. So then of course I had to follow up by trying the strips which I actually did today. We dined in (even though I ordered to go) and the staff was reallly nice, like Chickfila level nice, and the store was super clean. There was even a guy outside sweeping the parking lot, that to me looked spotless, but I guess he was sweeping away any possibility that a speck of dirt or debris may land, because I didn't see anything anywhere. When I got my food the first thing I thought was, these tenders look similar to Cane's. Like, almost identical, but as soon as I took a bite, there was no more comparison. The tenders were perfectly seasoned and the fries look the same way McDonald's fries look (in commercials), golden with a slight crunch, and not overly salty. (Review then sits in my draft for like 4 months at this point. I dont even know why) Picking up where I left off, I've since been here like 5 times. I still like it alot, the sandwiches are fire, the tenders are fire, and the wings (cayenne ranch) are fire. Though, I do wish incould get cayenne ranch tenders, but for a once every now and then option this spot is solid.

We…read morethought it was crazy Slim had just recently opened right across the street from Raising Cane's, which had opened 1.5 years earlier in September 2023, which I remember going on their 2nd day in Gambrills and was a madhouse. Business at Slim was light on this Wednesday early evening. While similar to Cane's, one key difference is Slim has more menu variety. At Cane's, it's simply the chicken tender baskets, and Slim has the same thing but also chicken sandwiches as well as more dessert options like chocolate Oreo in a mason jar and other mason jar dessert varieties. We had gotten a tender strip basket & chicken sandwich. I think the chicken sandwich was solid. The chicken tenders were pretty good, but inferior to Cane's across the street, but that would is very high bar to reach Cane's level. Fries & Texas toast was good here, but Cane's is a bit better too. I did like the varieties of dipping sauces here. At Cane's it's just the Caniac sauce. Here I got their Slim sauce & ranch. The tenders are also smaller than at Cane's. But the price for their basket is a fair amount cheaper than Cane's, so that is a plus. In addition to the food deal, I also had a free Mason jar dessert, which I got the Oreo one to split with my g/f. It was the highlight of the entire meal, which was delicious. Additionally, the cashier was very friendly answering all my questions. I will say the service was friendlier here at Cane's. Cane's they are just trying to get people through the line. Overall, I would consider Slim as an option for the chicken sandwich and/or if I have a deal.

I've only been here once so far, but I was already happy with what they have to offer. We ordered three entrées for the three of us dining in. There was no one else here, but it wasn't long after they opened. Hopefully things pick up here soon! Three meals was MORE than too much! You get a TON of food for that price! Each one comes with two big scoops of plain white rice and a scoop of a rather savory macaroni salad. I'm not a huge mac salad fan to start with, but most of them come out very sweet. Not this one, however! It was a nice departure from the standard. I had the Hawaiian grilled chicken. I did have to ask what type of chicken they used, and the guy said it was dark thigh meat. I'm normally a white meat guy, but I gave it a go anyway. I'm so glad I did! This dish was very tasty! It could use more sauce, maybe even some on the side, but it was still quite flavorful. My wife got the short ribs (tasty) and my kid went with the fried shrimp (HUGE!!). There was so much food, that we basically took about 50% of it home. So, before you grouse about the price, it's a LOT of food for the dollar. At least two meals... unless you're super-hungry. The service was fast and the dude was helpful. We didn't have to wait long for everything to be ready. The décor is sparse and could use some Hawaiian flavor. It's pretty drab currently. Overall, this is a neat addition to the Crofton food scene. I really hope it stays around for a while. Whenever I'm in in the Pacific time zone, I always try to find Hawaiian restaurants, as the food is so delicious to me. This might be the go-to answer to my prayers. I'll need to try it out more to confirm!

The lady who took our order was nice. We ordered to go Hawaiian BBQ beef, Teriyaki Salmon and Chicken cutlet with gravy. I did ask for the gravy on the side but they served it on the chicken. Portions are big. The chicken cutlet was excellent, juicy and crispy. The salmon was also very good! The Hawaiian BBQ beef was disappointing though. Did not taste like Hawaiian BBQ that I know. It had I believe what tasted like five spice in the marinade which was weird, in my opinion. The macaroni salad was okay. Not Hawaiian macaroni salad though. Please note this is coming from someone who is from the islands. Will we try this place again, yes. The other items on the menu looked good so will come back to try other plates.

Here are some things I tried and loved: - Steamed dumplings: they are petite and meaty. Great flavor and perfect for sharing with another person or eating alone. (I believe you get 5 on a plate) - Ka Prow (Thai Basil): This is my typical go-to and a staple dish for Thai restaurants. I like that their version isn't too spicy but it does have a nice kick. They also add in many big cut veggies to complement the protein chosen. My only minor gripe is I could use a little more rice. - Crispy Beef: This dish is still good! It does lean a bit sweet but good. - Spicy Tilapia Mango Sauce: This dish took me by surprise. I was not excited about having tilapia but I was interested in the spicy and sweet contrast of this dish! When it arrived, it was a good size piece of fish which I didn't expect. The only thing that was odd for me was the cashews. Next time I will ask them not to add that. In short, I had a much better time dining here over the last year. And if you are looking for a nice quiet lunch spot for friends, the service is good, restuarant is spacious, and food is good. What more could you need!

We ordered the fried rice with chicken and shrimp added and the crispy honey shrimp that was accompanied with white rice. The food was delicious!!! We ordered a Sprite. The restaurant was pretty empty as it was close to closing time and our waiter served us pretty efficiently. He was friendly and knowledgeable. My only feedback would be that the wait staff should not be allowed to use the "front of the house" as their break room. There were about 5 staff members sitting and standing around talking and laughing very loudly. My waiter sat on his phone in a booth diagonally across from us during our meal. Again, it was close to closing time but it might be best to wait until the last patron has departed before letting loose.

The restaurant was virtually empty and I was promptly seated. The menu is all pizza all day. Sissy and I got a salad and create your own pizza to share. Nothing to write home about. Thin and very plain tasting. The specialty pizza was much better. Very good. I had the double burger and it was very good. The onion rings that came with it were bad. Very greasy and they didn't come in rings. Sort of sloppy and not a good amount for $2.00 extra . The chicken wings were sort of average and the lettuce wedge was good but overpriced relative to the size. PRICES: For what we paid overall, this place seems to be a bit overpriced. Beer prices were very reasonable but the cost of a glass of white wine is ridiculous. It was $9.00 a glass and it looked like 4 oz. max. SERVICE : Pretty good overall and it was a bit busy for a Friday. Pizza orders were about 20 minutes plus. ATMOSPHERE: It was a comfortable atmosphere but a little noisy like most restaurants when busy. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. Like most restaurants the past 4-5 years, the costs have gone up dramatically and it's getting to a point where dining out is a luxury. Especially if you include a bar bill. The alcoholic drink prices are outrageous so we usually avoid them when dining out. Again beer prices here were fair.

It's in my neighborhood, it's conveniently close, and more often than not, they get it right. Today wasn't one of those days. Pressed for time, I didn't feel like cooking and needed to get a meal for my Wife, who works overnight as a nurse. We decided to visit America's best, ordering three separate orders of food, totaled at $61. Midway through eating her 7 piece Honey Lemon Pepper Wings, my daughter noticed a piece of hair in the honey. To be honest, I gave my daughter my 5 piece and really didn't want to go back up to the America's best bc I was tired, and they were busy, and I didn't want to embarrass the establishment while they had a crowded house. But my Wife insisted a refund, so I obliged. I called first, and told them my issue. I was told that if I wanted a refund I would have to come back to the carry out so I did. When I got there, a female cook of Asian descent asked me to open the container to which I did. She said she couldn't see the hair, even though I pointed it out to her. She then asked the cashier if she could see the hair, to which she replied: Yes, but it's super small. As if that made it any less unsanitary. The cook then said, it must've come from you, and pointed to my 5 o'clock shadow for a beard! I was shocked & offended, for one bc I barely have a beard, that particular dish wasn't even my meal, and just the audacity to imply that I would do something as disgusting as placing hair in my food to get a refund. It was super insulting. Again, I'm at an age where I'm not going to be arguing with anyone publicly. Especially over a $14 meal. But I didn't inform her that I have much better things to do then be going back & forth about chicken. She then told me that I could not have a refund, but she would make me more food, which I told her earlier that the site of the hair turned my daughters stomach and she was no longer hungry. I accepted the replacement bc something is better than nothing & after a long work day, I just didn't have the energy to continue to fight, but man am I disappointed in the customer service, the lack of respect for regular patrons, and my overall experience. I'm sure it doesn't matter to them, but I will never visit this America's Best again, and it's not even because of the mistake bc mistakes happen. It's bc of how they made me feel. 0 stars.
