This is my third visit to Thai at Waugh Chapel within 2 weeks. Keep in mind it is a 30 minute drive from my home (1 hour there and back) and I didn't mind one bit. I must say each visit was FANTASTIC!! With every one getting better than the last. For some reason it is so difficult to find good Pad Thai in Baltimore. Not here though. The have MASTERED the recipe. It wasn't dry with noodles sticking together like most places. It is honestly one of the best Pad Thai's I have ever had. The only complaint I do have is that I paid extra to have shrimp added to my chicken Pad Thai and was only given 3 shrimp! That is definitely an issue. If a customer is willing to pay extra for something please make it worth it. I also do not like the fact that they use brown paper boxes for to go containers/orders. Other than that, everything else was FANTASTIC. The Pad Cellophane was a nice surprise and different from what you typically find at Thai restaurants. The clear cellophane noodles, huge chunks of chicken and cherry tomatoes offering a juicy pop of brightness with each bite is dream worthy. I also love a good Pad See Eew. And again, they got it right. Not too dry and very flavorful. Everything I had on every visit was..."Chef's Kiss." Even down to their desserts. I am not a big sweets person and typically do not order desserts when I go out to eat. But reading the description of each one I just couldn't resist. And yes, they won me over! The Mango Parfait was absolutely delicious. Mango and sweet sticky rice combined with Mango ice cream...simply divine. The Lycee Cheesecake was a pleasant surprise. I forget the name of the other dessert I had, but it was another Mango flavored one and yes, that too was very good. All in all I will definitely return when I am craving good Thai food. I will happily take that one hour round trip ride to get it. If you are in the area or don't mind taking a ride I would definitely recommend you give them a try if you are craving some authentic, delicious Thai food. You will not regret it!! read more

I got a carry out order and the food was horrible! There were very few customers and I don't think the food was fresh read more

Food and ambiance were great. Order can wrong due to language barrier but was corrected.

I must've felt the same way multiple times visiting this location. This is now my second review and second trip to Thai, and my last review is pretty accurate - this is a good SOLID 4-star restaurant. It's been nearly 2-years since I had been last, and the slight language barrier that I previously mentioned, I would say is still the same. But that curry, might've been better the second time. "ABCD-eliocious" as my family and I say! The only reason this spot did not give 5-stars is because their wings, are the type of big, fat wings, and I don't personally like those. Like hormone/something injected fed-wings are how I would describe how they tasted. Flavorful, but fake. BUT THAT CURRY...... 1000000% need that again! read more

I'd heard so much about Thai at Waugh Chapel and saw reviews a couple of months back about their late-night happy hour, so I decided to stop by late Friday night. When I arrived and sat at the bar, I found out they no longer offer it, which was a bit of a shame. Since I was already there and hungry, I checked out the regular menu. I ordered the Wonderful cocktail because I love lavender--it was tasty and well-balanced. I'd also heard people raving about the salmon rolls and Cry Baby Noodles from the Netflix show Hunger, so I ordered both. Everything came out quickly and piping hot. The salmon rolls were like fried sushi wrapped in a spring roll--good flavor, though I think they would've been even better paired with an aioli. The Cry Baby Noodles were delicious but very spicy. I ordered the medium heat level, and it was still pretty hot. Overall, the aesthetics are great and the bartender made sure I was okay, though she never mentioned her name. I'll definitely be back to try more--the Thai food was really good, and there's even a cute photo opp when you walk in. read more

We were very excited to try this place given the good reviews and enticing photos. We arrived 2 minutes after the 11:00 opening time. I asked the waiter about the lemonade and his answer was incomprehensible-I decided just to get a Coke. We ordered 2 appetizers and told him we would need a few more minutes to decide our entrees and when he brought the drinks we gave him the rest of our order. He did not come back to the table and we saw people who had come in well past us who were getting food. At 11:39, a runner brought our entrees. At that point, we sent the food back, dropped a twenty on the table and left. read more

There have been many content creators sharing videos of their experiences on Instagram so after 2 years, I'm giving it a try! And I was pleasantly surprised. Here are some things I tried and loved: - Steamed dumplings: they are petite and meaty. Great flavor and perfect for sharing with another person or eating alone. (I believe you get 5 on a plate) - Ka Prow (Thai Basil): This is my typical go-to and a staple dish for Thai restaurants. I like that their version isn't too spicy but it does have a nice kick. They also add in many big cut veggies to complement the protein chosen. My only minor gripe is I could use a little more rice. - Crispy Beef: This dish is still good! It does lean a bit sweet but good. - Spicy Tilapia Mango Sauce: This dish took me by surprise. I was not excited about having tilapia but I was interested in the spicy and sweet contrast of this dish! When it arrived, it was a good size piece of fish which I didn't expect. The only thing that was odd for me was the cashews. Next time I will ask them not to add that. In short, I had a much better time dining here over the last year. And if you are looking for a nice quiet lunch spot for friends, the service is good, restuarant is spacious, and food is good. What more could you need! read more

Delicious! I've seen this place many times as I frequent the shopping center. I finally decided to stop in and I'm glad I did. There was a really cute display in the vestibule of the restaurant which my little one enjoyed using for a photo opp. The inside of the restaurant was clean. We had initially phone in a takeout order, but my daughter decided she wanted to eat inside of the restaurant. The staff members were extremely nice and accommodating, bringing us water and even asked if we wanted additional menu items. I had the Ka Pow fried rice with shrimp. It was delectable, a nice portion and tasty. read more

We stopped in once again for a late dinner at Thai at Waugh Chapel. The restaurant was quiet and already decorated for the Winter holiday season. We were seated right away as it was not crowded. The waiter took our order quickly. We ordered the fried rice with chicken and shrimp added and the crispy honey shrimp that was accompanied with white rice. The food was delicious!!! We ordered a Sprite. The restaurant was pretty empty as it was close to closing time and our waiter served us pretty efficiently. He was friendly and knowledgeable. My only feedback would be that the wait staff should not be allowed to use the "front of the house" as their break room. There were about 5 staff members sitting and standing around talking and laughing very loudly. My waiter sat on his phone in a booth diagonally across from us during our meal. Again, it was close to closing time but it might be best to wait until the last patron has departed before letting loose. read more

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for several reasons, despite having dined here multiple times in the past. My experiences have led to my decision to stop visiting, primarily due to perceived differences in treatment towards African-American customers. The lack of customer service was particularly concerning. I observed the same waitress who served me and my friend last night, and her demeanor was noticeably unwelcoming. She simply placed the water cups on our table without any conversation, and when I expressed uncertainty about my order, she responded with just two words: "Ready to order?" When it came time to order, I specifically requested broccoli with my dish. Instead of engaging with me, she bluntly stated, "Four dollars." Upon receiving my meal, I found the basil fried rice to be sticky and lacking the requested broccoli, onions, and vegetables. When I attempted to address this with her, she immediately interrupted with "Cancel," without offering alternatives or showing any concern. I noticed a stark contrast in her interactions with customers of other backgrounds; she was more engaged and attentive with them, frequently checking in to see if they needed anything. During our visit, she failed to return to our table, didn't provide napkins, and only brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert--my friend was specifically interested in the dessert menu. When I called the manager over to express my concerns, she mentioned he would discuss the matter with the waitress later. However, she seemed more focused on the food than the service. While the healthy rolls were good, my friend's dish was excessively salty, which is not representative of all Black consumers' preferences. It felt like the quality of food has declined since my previous visits when it was much better. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are many other Thai restaurants that offer superior food and service. Awful and service! read more

Stopped by Thai at Waugh Chapel for a quick meal on Valentine's day. There wasn't a wait, so we were seated right away. The Crab Rangoons were my favorite, the cream to crunch ratio was perfect. I have had better Spring Rolls but these weren't bad at all. They were fresh and filled with crunchy cabbage. They just weren't seasoned, so the sauce helped. I got the Duck Roll just to try something different. It was aight, the rolls look bite size but they aren't. Lol you will struggle to chew with your mouth shut after putting one in your mouth. Flavor wise it was basic...for me, the mustard was necessary. The sauce on the wings were good, but the chicken wasn't the freshest (which is an immediate turn off). For my entree I got the Soft shell Crab and pumpkin dish, can't figure out what it's called. The sauce was good, the crab wasn't special. It wasn't seasoned, outside of the sauce. The servers were okay. We waited about 15 minutes for our appetizers...They were quick to give us water, but took an hour to bring our entrees. It also seemed like they had a back door open it was freezing. People were eating with their jackets and scarfs on. I probably wouldn't go again, but the food may be worth carrying out. read more

Came for happy hour and enjoyed ourselves. I was a little cautious after multiple reviews stating slow service but that definitely wasn't our experience. The white peach martini was everything I needed it to be. The jacketed shrimp were hot and crispy. The crab fried rice was really good. Not sure if there was a slight sweetness due to the crab or any sauce/seasoning used but it was really tasty. We will be back soon. read more

Decided to give this place a try after seeing it all over Uber eats and door dash. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't so busy which was perfect! I didn't expect the ambiance to be so pretty inside, and different! Especially being in a "shopping center" type of area. But it is so cute and they even have a tiny fountain. I was really impressed by the drink menu, they have specialty cocktails, lots of non alcoholic ones too. I didn't know they had a happy hour though at the time I went and I ended up hearing it from another table. Which was a bummer since we already ordered etc (there was no happy hour menu offered or mentioned when we were seated) The staff is quick and the food is piping hot. You can also choose your spice level which is really nice. The menu is diverse and I saw dishes that I haven't seen in other Thai restaurants which was exciting to try. Started with the Crispy Salmon rolls, duck roll and the jacketed shrimp. The duck rolls were okay, nothing super crazy. I did like the Salmon rolls the best. For mains we had the sweet and sour chicken (which had sauteed cucumbers? That was new to me), pad Thai and crispy pork in a garlic sauce. The food was tasty and the pad Thai had tons of flavor! I really enjoyed how large the portions were! For dessert we took home the lychee cheese cake and the mango sticky rice. The mango sticky rice is the best I've had so far in this area! For drinks we had the lychee Thai tea and the pomegranate lemonade both super sweet but would definitely get again. Overall, many people said the prices are a bit high but the portions make up for it. The happy hour would have been nice to know about but would definitely return read more

Still a great place for good ole reliable thai food. There is a lot of space with plenty of seating for large parties and seating at the bar as well. The Ka Pow Fried Rice and Drunken Noodles are reliably good. At times it can be hard to procure Sticky Rice with Mango because I have been told too many times to count at other thai restaurants that "mango is not in season" but they had it and it was worth the wait. They even threw in a candle when they overheard it was my birthday. Good job Thai at Waugh Chapel, thanks for the reminder of your good food & service. read more

After several visits of this restaurant, with both dinner and lunch time experience, I can say with confidence that this is a solid Thai spot to go to. Food: delicious, we have ordered most of the items off the appetizers and liked almost all of them except for the chicken on skewer, due to flavor a bit blend and at times, the chicken can be a little dry. The Duck Roll is a must to have. All the curries are delicious. Any Ka Pao's make sure you eat with rice. And their spicy level is just right for us BUT...might be too spicy for normal American spicy tolerance. Please be aware. Decent portion size for sharing. Space: clean, do get crowded for dinner and weekends. Service: 90% of the time, our services are pretty good. But when they are super packed during dinner time, it can get a little lagging. There are also 1-2 servers that don't speak very well English, which caused some communication issues, however, since the servers do work as a team (which is great), so when things like this happen, others stepped in to help out. Parking: large Waugh Chapel shopping center parking lot all around, so no need to worry at all. Highly recommend by @WineDinenVacay read more
