Corner Bites is open all the time, which is how we ended up here in the first place. And once I was here, I pulled up Far East's menu to compare: every dim sum order at Corner Bites is about fifty cents cheaper, with bigger portions. That's not a rounding error, that's a pattern. They also do Peking duck, half or whole, and it's roughly $20-30 less than Peking Gourmet out by Seven Corners, the one everybody makes the pilgrimage to. Somebody near me ordered it and the staff talked it up. I didn't get it this time, but I'm coming back for it, because I would rather drive to Rockville than fight Northern Virginia traffic for a duck that costs thirty dollars more. My wife went in and the wife wife of the owner as she stated, began yelling at her in front of other customers and saying she is no longer welcome. She cannot have Service there. She cannot order anything.. I was shocked. The wife brought the owner her husband out from the kitchen and my wife tried to explain what happened with the truck and inability to get there and offered to pay for the dinner for the previous night unfortunately she was treated with hostility, anger, and a reluctance to listen. The owner complained how he went out of his way and now he was out money and told her to leave.. It was an incredibly upsetting experience, management was extremely unprofessional, berating my wife and I in front of other customers and for no reason at all, denied a service, knowing that my wife is handicapped and has food allergies.
