I love this place! The service is great, the space is clean, the food is affordable, and everything I've tried has been delicious. Their lunch specials are unbeatable -- you can't find many 2-3 course meals for $12-$17 anymore. So far, I've had the sushi and the shrimp hibachi, and both were fresh and made to order. I heard a new ramen restaurant landed in Bowie, so I knew I needed to check it out. Located in Hilltop Plaza, directly next door to the My Eye Dr office, sits the newly open Sakura Express. Sakura Express specializes in various types of ramen and hibachi entrees. You can either dine in, or do take out. Online ordering is also available. I decided to order my food online and take-out. Upon arrival, I noticed how clean and brand spanking new the establishment is. The customer service was very friendly and helpful. I also noticed a cute water dispenser filled with water, lemons and limes at the condiment station. When I got home I tried the vegetarian ramen. It was tasty, but it didn't blow me. I also purchased the fried chicken ramen (the correct name escapes me) but it was pretty good also. I didn't like that the fried chicken got soggy, due to the broth. Between the two, I liked the broth in the fried chicken ramen better. It's a pretty okay place to try, but I don't foresee me becoming a regular. read more

Great service here! The people are very kind and courteous and the restaurant has got nice space; it's bright and clean with good tunes in the background - not loud and blasting, but comfortably just right! I ordered the vegetable eggrolls, tempura shrimp, spicy salmon roll. Everything was fresh and the eggrolls and shrimp tempura were piping hot when served. My salmon roll was wonderful. I like this location as there's Free Miso Soup! Very good along with affordable prices of Ramen, Sushi, and Hibachi; the third I have not tried from the Bowie, MD location yet. The people are nice and very fun to interact with, hard-working. The decorations are really nice and the wallpapers fit quite well with Sakura flowers displaying. I went here in a pinch because I wanted Sushi and didn't feel like driving to my usual place. This was my first time and I was never interested in eating there until now. Should have listened to my instincts. Ordered sushi which was fine, not great and also got the fried calamari. The amount of MSG used in this dish should be criminal. I ended up spitting out what I was chewing and throwing the entire container out. I should've driven to my usual place...won't make that mistake again! read more

My friend and I came in late last night with our 3 kids and they were extremely professional and accommodating. I don't know their hours but I'm sure it was close to closing but they didn't rush us or make us feel like we were a bother. Ling especially had superb customer service and even talked to us for a bit. The food was exceptional. The beef short ribs omg!!!!!!!! To die for lol. I didn't know what to expect but was blown away I ordered the salmon teriyaki and my friend ordered the chicken teriyaki. Three of us had different ramens, shrimp tempura, and egg rolls. The food was piping-hot and very flavorful. The ramen soup base was delicious and the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. We tried this location as an alternative to Sardi's Thursday. Service: Was great. I ordered on line and when I got there less than 20 minutes later our order was ready and the employees were very nice. ai had to add an additional item and it took about 10-15 mins to prepare it and they offered soup and cucumber lemon water while we waited. Food: We ordered 1. Chicken dumplings fried and steamed. They are not overly seasoned and paired well with the dipping sauce, which was a little salty, was used sparingly. 2. Chicken ramen, which my daughter loved and ate a lot of but still had left overs the next day. 3. Habachi shrimp with added chicken. This was the star. We had it with fried rice. I had crispy steam broccoli and potatoes. No one was excited about the potatoes. But l, the large 8 shrimp and juicy chicken was a pleasant surprise. If we try this location again I think we will skip the dumplings, and go for the ramen and habachi. It was enough for a family of 4 plus left overs. Service is fast, they have a lot of options, but the broth isn't like my fav ramen Ya which has more flavor and better quality, karra age taste good, takoyaki from akira is better and softer, brisket from sakura doesn't have enough flavor, miso, beef ribs, and tongkatsu almost have the same flavor, miso ramen a bit salty read more

I visited the Sakura Express on Friday, 4/5 after having gone to one years ago. The location was clean and the staff seemed nice. However, I was completely dissatisfied with my food, as it was nothing like what I had in the past. I got the steak and chicken hibachi for both my husband and I. The chicken was cut way too big and the edamame and corn did not go well. What happened to the vegetables? There were also potatoes in both of our bowls, which wasn't listed anywhere on the menu for that dish. The white rice was sticky. I understand that new restaurants take a while to figure things out but I wasn't pleased at all, especially given how expensive the bowls are. I'm not sure yet if I'm open to trying it one more time but I certainly did not enjoy my first visit. Hope they get better. read more
