Best pho in the area. There's a few other spots that have popped up, but Saigon Noodle House always has the best flavors and service!

Came here for lunch on Monday (MLK Day) around 1:30 with my wife, and it honestly hit me that we've been here plenty of times but I've never actually left a review. Which is wild, because I know I've taken a bunch of food pics here that I've never posted... complete waste lol. We walked in and were seated immediately and ended up getting the second-to-last available booth. Most of the room was couples on lunch dates, plus a group of friends, and later a party of about 7 took over one of the tables. Noise level was mostly moderate, with a quick sprinkle of loud when that bigger group got going, but nothing crazy, still totally fine for a date or a relaxed lunch. My wife ordered the A2 (slices of eye of round steak, well-done flank, and soft tendon). I got the A6 (eye of round steak and soft tendon). The pho was good, the broth had a lot of flavor. I did order extra noodles because while I like the pho here, the portions are a little smaller compared to some other spots we go to. I loaded mine up with bean sprouts, tore up some basil, and let the jalapeños sit in the bowl for a bit for heat. Lately though, I've been more about the chili oil, which they'll bring out if you ask. We also got shrimp summer rolls, which are always a go-to for me when eating pho anywhere. These were fresh, great texture, and the basil really pops. The peanut sauce is one of the best parts. Honestly, I could come here just for the summer rolls and that sauce. I also grabbed a taro smoothie, lightly sweet and creamy, solid choice. Food came out fast, maybe 8 minutes after ordering. Service here is consistently good. The staff is friendly, not pushy at all, and they actually check in on you without hovering. You can always get someone's attention if you need something. They even let a couple move from a table to a booth once one opened up, which I thought was a nice touch. The place itself is very clean, the tables and floors are always well kept. I don't really remember music, but there was a TV on playing college basketball. Overall vibe is relaxed. Parking can be a little tight since it's tucked behind a Rita's and the layout is kind of awkward, but even when it's full you're not walking far, just a compact lot. Price-wise, our total was about $40, but that included an extra summer roll and an extra smoothie. Without the extras, it would've been under $30. My only real critique is portion size for the price, specifically with the pho. It's not a deal breaker, but it's why this isn't my go-to spot when I'm really hungry. I'm a big guy with a big appetite -- my wife would be fine eating here any day of the week. Would I come back? Yeah. The food is good and the service is solid. For me, this is more of a quick lunch spot or a stop when I'm on the move, rather than a full dinner destination. I've been going to this place for years now, and I'm shocked that they don't have a page on yelp. I'll be the first to say they have the best pho in MD. The broth tastes authentic and flavorful. The staff are super friendly and make sure to bring out your items swiftly. The vibes are very calm and quiet. They usually just have a tv playing either the news or a game show really low. I'm in love with this noodle house. First and foremost you have to try the combination role, it is a mad scientist creation of a summer roll and a spring roll combined. It is the most unique role I've ever had. It's a fried roll inside of a summer roll with all the flavors of both. Also, some of the most gelatinous broth in the area. The beef broth has the most unique, and delicious flavor of any of the broth that I've had in the Crofton Bowie area. This place has stepped up its game, making it a must-stop if you are in the area. If you're looking for Pho open on a Monday this the spot to go to. Our usual spot was closed so we ventured elsewhere and ended up here! And thank the stars we did. It looks small on the outside and it's hidden a bit but walk in and it's a larger space, clean and comfortable. We were impressed by the menu. Not only do they have pho, but many traditional dishes. I was surprised to find a Vietnamese crepe! All of their food is so tasty and fresh. Their appetizers like the spring rolls are made in house and you can tell it's not your average pho spot. We live close by and have visited here many times. Although I gave them a 4 Star, our recent visit wasn't so great. A lot of wait. There were simply short staffed to handle the Friday rush. They have good food and quick service. We have used them for 20 years and have always had good meals.

We most often get carry out and they always get the order right, which I appreciate. Orders are well packed and in good containers. Food is always good and the Pho comes with plenty of bean sprouts, Basil, and fresh jalapeño, plus plum sauce. We add Saracha sauce at home as they don't pack that by default, so if you want it make sure to ask. Summer rolls are great as are their other appetizers and dishes. An excellent Vietnamese soup hits all the marks for the perfect comfort food when sick, cold, or hung over ( let's be honest, lol); most Pho spots do just that, soup, but this place is Vietnamese food in general, and it slaps! I wanted to try the food, so I ordered a wonton soup; this is not your typical Carry-Out wonton. Delicate noodles, generous meat filling, savory broth. Very tasty, a little on the salty side; I'm assuming it is the fish sauce. I ordered #51, a grilled meat combo of shrimp, beef, and chicken. It was excellent, and each protein was seasoned differently. For $15, it was a very generous portion, and it came with a crispy spring roll. Service was excellent; I saw one person at the time but 3 different people. Please don't ask me how or why, but they were friendly, the food was fresh, and everyone was serviced promptly, considering I came during the lunch rush. This place has potential. The interior is nice, the menus are really well done, and the vibe seems like it's a place that does well. I just don't think I ordered the right dish and I'd be willing to try them again to see if I'll have better luck next time. The service was very pleasant here. At I enjoyed the atmosphere as well. What we got: Fried Spring Rolls - I thought the were so-so and had a bit of a fishy taste. But my partner, who doesn't enjoy seafood, loved them. So the average rating between the two of us would be 3.5* (3 and 4* respectively). I did really enjoy the dipping sauce. Stir Fried Singapore Shrimp, Beef, Chicken Noodles - 2* it came out smelling burnt and that smell was off-putting. While we were told it was the smell of the curry powder being burnt I still had a hard time getting past the smell and slight taste. I also found the dish lacking in flavor and took a goodly portion home. I'm going to see if I can spice it up with my own sauces. If you can look past the non-existent service (didn't offer me a drink or check up on me, plus took forever to get my check), the pho broth is the best I've had in the area hands down. Better than Pho-One-O, Pho 5Up and Nam Pho, Saigon Noodle has the most authentic pho broth and at the best price. Beef Pho is supposed to be a somewhat clear broth (not dark) and has a slightly sweet taste. And this place is it! This place could use more onions in their pho, but the broth is spot on unlike some of the other places. read more

Came for dinner on a Tuesday around 5:30pm. The place was pretty empty until the dinner crowd started pouring in at 6:30pm. We order the Pad Thai, Grilled Pork with Rice, Crispy Egg Rolls, Grilled Beef, and the Singapore Noodles. It was all pretty good. I've visited Asia so my bar is pretty high. The food has the same authentic flavors so it is real close to some of my favorite spots in Asia. The place is not loud and has a family run feel. This restaurant has been a good Vietnamese dine-in and takeout experience. On the few occasions I have visited the service was very good and the food both delicious and consistent in quality. What I like about this restaurant is unlike many other dine-in restaurants you seat yourself in the dining room. Whether you are a party of two or six, they will allow you to sit in a booth that normally would hold six people. I don't think that is necessarily a problem considering they have many booths available and diners don't normally spend a lot of time eating, so it seems. I like the large booths because they accommodate my large family. I appreciate how friendly the wait staff are and they seem to be quite experienced in both giving patrons space to peruse the menu prior to ordering and after receiving their meals checking in with them only so often to allow them space to enjoy their meals. They seem to be very intelligent in that department. Their pho noodle soup is very good, although the portions are relatively small compared to other local pho restaurants. The difference between their small and large pho noodle soup seems to be the amount of broth itself, however the portion of rice noodles does not vary. It seems you get the same portion of noodles regardless of entree size. Save yourself a couple dollars and get the small pho. Their fried rice, broccoli in garlic sauce, and Singapore style noodles are also delicious. I'll continue to dine here. Give them a try. read more

I take all of my friends here all the time, it's authentic Vietnamese pho, the flavor is great, the Thai tea is delicious and the customer service could not be better! Everyone Is super nice, I go there so much now they know what i will order as soon as i get there! They are very attentive, and fast! Such an unexpectedly great dinner! We came inside and we were greeted and sat almost immediately. She let us know that they were going to clean a booth for us so that we didn't have to sit at the tables in the middle of the restaurant which I appreciated. I ordered my usual pho order: coconut juice + a rare steak pho. The small bowl was under $10 which is almost unheard of nowadays, and the coconut water costed me $5 which had nice soft young coconut inside. The broth was like nothing I'd tasted before - it was savory, it was salty, it was perfect! Added some hoisin and sriracha and it hit soooooo good. The noodles were perfectly cooked and not hard or soft. The meat was tender and not tough. It was a truly enjoyable experience - I will be returning any time I am visiting Maryland!! read more

TERRIBLE!!!! My husband and I have been regulars for so long. I had only taken a bite of my food and my husband was preparing his pho when I found maggots in the broccoli. We were so disgusted we no longer wanted to eat. We were hoping to be offered a resolution but the boy who was working the front said he didn't understand what I wanted him to do. He stated that the broccoli was the only thing with maggots but that he understood how we felt. He then said he couldn't do anything because they spent money on the food and they spent time making it. We weren't in the mood so we paid for the food he claimed had "no maggots" and left. I'm disgusted by how the situation was handled, they said they would bring out a new plate of broccoli. After reading some reviews I didn't feel comfortable knowing they would possibly bring out the same plate or broccoli from the same bag. No apology offered, extremely disappointed. I wanted to speak to a manager and he said it's a family run business, him and his mom working the front. Menu selection here is typical of what they all offer, with the traditional rice, noodle, and soup dishes making up the majority of the menu. Food preparation and presentation is good. Our orders have always arrived promptly and fresh. Portion sizes are average. Pretty much everything we have tried tastes good, but their food seems to be on the sweet side for what we like. The ingredients are always good quality, and they do a good job with their grilled meats by sautéing them with some nice green onion and garlic to finish them off for serving. It's just the added sweetness makes everything start to taste the same to us. As for the service and facility, they have both been just fine. Service is prompt and friendly. The facility is dated and lacks atmosphere, but it is clean and not cramped. If you are in the mood for Vietnamese food, give them a try and see if their preparation is to your liking. Whenever we're in town, my husband and I HAVE to stop in for Vietnamese take out at Saigon Noodle House. I can't speak for the meat dishes (except that there's never been anything that my husband or in-laws didn't like)...I've only had their vegetarian options: #106 (Yes Please!! I've had it on its own and also as an appetizer...delicious!), #107 (light/yummy), #113 (so good), and my favorite (discontinued???) item was #120 (Lemon Grass Bean Curd)...The best I've ever tasted!! It seems like it's no longer on the menu though. I wish they offered a vegetarian bún or had a vegan/vegetarian fish sauce. As far as I can tell the fish sauce dipping sauce for #106 is real fish sauce...but a vegan option would be amazing! I still eat it though...lol. This is a no frills Vietnamese spot. They won't wow you with flavor or presentation, but the food is good and satisfying like a greasy spoon. I normally get the phô which they have available in every meat, seafood,and vegetarian combination. It's better than the phô at most other places within about 30 miles for same price range. If you dine-in, it's in a small strip mall, and has very little decor. Again, it's no frills, but the staff is nice and move fairly quickly. Very quick for takeout. The large special bowl of pho is the 1st item from their menu (supposed to represent this restaurant). I am disappointed of it and wondering how this restaurant has received 4/5 stars. This "special" bowl of pho is (1) too small even as it's indicated in the menu as a large size. (2) It's too salty. (3) It has so little meat and the meat is too old and did not taste good at all. The meat ball is the most aged part. I couldn't eat any. My son ordered the special rice dish and it was kind of good. So I don't recommend pho from here. They have a variety of Southeastern Asian food from the menu and they looked good, but I can't speak if its good or not. read more

Swung by for lunch the other day. This place is located in a little strip mall and is very unassuming from the road. Upon entering, I noticed that the place was very clean and inviting. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and we were seated immediately. As far as the food goes, it was pretty good. We ordered the lettuce wraps and egg noodles with beef. Both were full of flavor. For the amount of chicken mix you get with the lettuce wraps, they need to give you more lettuce. I had like 5-6 small leaves. When they were gone I still had 2/3 of the meat and rice noodles left. Great for taking home for later but I'll need to go buy a head of lettuce now. LOL Finally we come to the drink. We ordered a honey dew frozen bubble tea. It was so good, my wife ordered a second one for the road. Overall, this place did Thai food right. It was clean, friendly, and the food was pretty darn good.
