I love this place! As soon as I walked in I was greeted with such a warm welcome. The server had this wise demeanor that made this restaurant have a chill "at home" vibe. I got the #4 phô and it came out super quick, but in no way was I rushed to finish. They're also doing a special for dine that offers 1 FREE tea of any choice with every order of phô. If you're in the area and want to relax and enjoy amazing, healthy food then make sure to stop by. They serve one of the better pho I recall having. The noodles and soup have a light feeling, and there's a fair amount of beef.

Review for take out only. I called and ordered 4 phos (two veggie and two rare steak phos) and then two orders of fried egg rolls with pork. I picked everything up and was happy with the way they packed our pho. Our meat for the steak pho was raw but cooked quickly in the hot broth. The broth had very good flavor and didn't need additional seasoning. The fried egg rolls were crispy and delicious! As only my only complaint would be I would want more meat to balance the noodles..over all so delicious! read more

Pho 5UP is solid. The food is good and the service is always on point. Unlike many others this location is Pho only, No rice dishes or other options that you get at a lot of the others places in the area. They do have milk tea though, and it's really good. The restaurant is always clean, and they have a huge parking lot. Definitely worth a visit. read more

BLUF: Good place, excellent service, very good Pho. We will be back. We used to go to a place a couple slots down in this strip mall called Angelinos. They changed their name, changed their fries and we were done with the whole plaza. I think even back then we had seen Pho5Up open there and even grabbed a menu. The menu sat in our kitchen for, literally a year or more. We just don't go that way that often, 90% of the time we leave base we turn left towards Jessup/Columbia. We used to go to PhoOne-O in the Ridge view Plaza (right outside of Rochenbach gate at Fort Meade. That was closest for us and we were in that plaza more often. They were good, unique even, then something happened...maybe the global pandemic (a common excuse). But really something changed, their prices went up, the quality went down, the service got less "interested in doing the work". So we ghosted them. So today comes around, we went for a bike ride, and came home hungry without a lunch plan. The good wife (not the stupid show, but an actual lovely human partner I love) suggested trying out Pho 5UP. [I wonder if some comedian has done a riff on the crazy names of Pho places?] She had the noodle and vegetable. I got steak and brisket. The broth is good, not great (she accurately described it as lacking "complexity") The vegetables were fresh and the meat in my dish was delicious. The portion is substantial, you will not leave hungry. We had the appetizer egg roll, well executed and just enough to get the mouth ready to go. Our server was efficient, polite and very good at running the front of the store. There were orders going out the whole time. They have a current special offering a free drink if you dine -in (people don't do that anymore I guess), we did and enjoyed a meal across a table talking to each other instead of sitting parallel with a phone in one hand or looking at the TV. People should do that more often. Eating with a phone in one hand or a big screen blaring some useless thing is probably part of why we don't connect well as a country anymore. We are so busy consuming useless data bytes, we no longer share bites with those we love. Go out, eat in, leave the phone in the car. Absolutely phenomenal! This place is a must-visit for food lovers. Don't skip the appetizers--they might just be the best part of the menu. I started with the egg roll (similar to a spring roll), and it was perfection--packed with pork and veggies, cooked to crisp perfection. I also tried the beef wrapped in grape leaves for the first time, and it was both fresh and bursting with flavor. My favorites, though, were the shrimp summer roll and the chicken salad. The shrimp summer roll was wrapped in delicate rice paper (not chewy or tough like at other places), and every bite was a fresh, flavorful delight. As for the chicken salad, it was a standout--perfectly seasoned chicken (not spicy), paired with crisp lettuce, red onions, and scallions, all tossed in a refreshing citrus dressing. Absolute yum! The service was fantastic as well. Jay was incredibly friendly and helpful, answering all my questions with a smile and making sure everything was perfect. Even the Thai iced tea was a winner. I always order the butterfly shrimp with extra sauce as an appetizer. I love the well done flank pho with the bean sprout and basil. Top it off with the sriracha sauce and a squeeze of lime juice, amazing. Then I wash it all down with a Green Milk Tea with boba and a Mango Milk Tea with Mango Jelly topping. Don't judge me. Impressed by the potential this place has. The pho was flavorful, the menu offered some interesting options, staff were friendly, and the atmosphere had a nice, casual vibe. However, the cleanliness of the restaurant really left something to be desired. While the dining area was generally okay, I noticed several areas that could use a deep clean. I hope they can focus on maintaining higher cleanliness standards because it would make a huge difference in the overall dining experience. New location in Odenton! Definitely not a new name as they have multiple locations. Called in on a Friday afternoon, it was raining and packed but they were quick to answer and prepare for pick up. Super impressed at how clean the inside is as well as how nice it is to step into a restaurant in this location and feel like your in a different area. Take out was easy. I gave them 5 stars for their TO GO experience. Based on the quality of the utensils, items and and so forth. The to go bowls are always sketchy when it comes to pho, it's either they aren't large enough or no bowl at all. I really appreciate the to go bowl being big and deep enough so you can eat it in the same container. They also separate your raw meats into little bags instead of one container. The big win was the sauces! Packets of hoisen and Sriracha really make a difference as many places come pre mixed or none at all. All the utensils and napkins were also wrapped in a small bag. The only thing I'd recommend is a larger size of calamari, it was basically $1 per ring and we got about 4. But the price is almost $7 Overall the broth was good and the ingredients were fresh. Now for the Pho the cost was average $13, but the to go size was smaller than most that I have gotten. The flavor was lacking that rich broth flavor. I don't think I will be returning. read more

I always struggle with lower ratings, and probably should assign my own point values to stars. Oh well. Easy to find, ample, free parking. Clean and appealing inside. Food was good! I really enjoyed the summer roll and the sauce was delectable. I took DGD and let her order whatever she wanted and she always chooses a basic chicken phö. I sampled it a bit, and even without the garnishes it was tasty. Very fresh and flavorful. But I can't in all honesty rate this higher than OK because of the service. I had a question about an item on the menu and it turned into a rather weird almost-argument. The #28 (a chicken dish) said "contains peanuts" so I asked what that means. Server said no, no peanuts in it. I pointed at the menu where it clearly stated it does. Then they started talking about the #27 and kept saying "no peanuts" so I said I'm not asking about #27. They said "Same dish, just shrimp not chicken." Now, I can happily trade jests with anyone anywhere, but this person was clearly not joking. They seemed offended that I was trying to clarify ingredients. They said, "I don't know what's in it" so I asked if they could find out. That was obviously above and beyond and this is where they 100% lost me: "No, it is what the menu says. What, don't you like peanuts?" I might buy takeout from here again; it's very close to home and the food was good, at a decent price. But I will never again sit down to dine in because as a former food server, I know that it isn't hard to give good service! And really - "I don't know what's in it" ?!?!? WTAF. read more

Went here on Jan 1 since our usual Vietnamese spot was closed. Have been wanting to try out this before it even opened, so figured this was a perfect opportunity. We called in to verify that they were open and they said they were open for the next three hours but to come in way before they close (odd request but I respect it). We make the drive out there and are excited to get some pho in our bellies on this cold night. When we walk in, we walk up to the register and they ask "to go?" To which we reply no (to go pho is never great). They said they aren't open to dine in because the staff needs to eat. This would've been a great tidbit to have shared over the phone prior to making a 25 minute drive out there. It's a bummer as I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time as I LOVE Vietnamese cuisine, but I don't foresee another attempt any time ever. read more
