I was very amused by the name so I decided to stop by. If you've ever seen the red flag Kevin Nguyen memes on social media then you know what I mean. I like it spicy. I noticed they had Sa Te sauce so I ordered the Pho Dac Biet w Sa Te and they did not hold back on the spice. I took a bite and was sent into another dimension. There was a long piece of hair in my food. First of all The service was great. The young man was very friendly. I did not want to complain. I was really excited to eat the food there. My mom's food was good. My dad's food was good. My food was good. I thought right before I ate it. I looked inside and I found a long piece of hair. I'm not a complainer so I called the waiter back and I whisper to him that "there is a long piece of hair in He said no problem giving me a new one. I said OK then another gentleman peaked out from the back with this look on his face, like he was mad and looked at me like I was trying to lie, but guess what I'm bald. Then I lost my appetite then I just told them just pack it to go ,instead of them taking off least my one soup that had hair in it instead they charge me for everything, including even our nonalcoholic beverage. once again, the service was great. The young man was amazing. I will never go back there. I found hair in my food. The least they can do was take it off the bill, but they did not and they charge me for everything and I still tipped good. Once again, I'm not a complainer just stating fact the service was great. It was packaged nicely with all the fixins. In addition to my large #4, I ordered the shrimp Lo Mein. You don't typically see Lo Mein at Vietnamese restaurants so I had to give it a try. The broth was piping hot. It could have been spicier (I love spicy food), but it was tasty. The fixings included sprouts, onions, cilantro and mint. We stopped by this pho joint after hitting up an event in the DC area. Quite frankly, we'd been on the road for days and really just wanted ANYTHING other than burgers and fast food. Pho Kevin really hit the spot with their warm broth and noodle soups. But, that's just it....their pho tasted more like noodle soup. It was missing the DEEP pho flavor you'd expect to find at a vietnamese pho joint, not to mention the lack of cilantro. Their portion sizes were also quite small. This restaurant was referred to us by a Vietnamese friend hence came to try it out. Simple interior like most of the Vietnamese restaurants , nothing fancy. Fairly clean. Service was efficient, but a little too efficient felt a bit rushed . The young lady came over to ask if we know what we want as soon as we sat down didn't even have the time to look at menu yet. As for the food... it's soooo good. From the broth of pho, flavor and ingredients for spicy beef noodle, to summer roll + dipping sauce and beef vermicelli were all tasty and authentic. This was our first visit for lunch at this restaurant, which is located near Shoppers Food Warehouse. The hostess was also our server. She was nice and pleasant. We ordered the regular size pho for $13.95. The ingredients in the pho were fresh (meat and vegetables). However, the broth was very salty. We told the server who will tell the chef. The dining room is clean and spacious, but the furniture looks outdated. The seats for the booths were worn out and cracked so they should be replaced. In general, pho used to be a reasonably priced item to get before Covid (under $10) that we could have often. But now it's more of a luxury item at most pho restaurants. Hadn't eaten all day and was ready for a cheap, quick feast, which Vietnamese food always delivers. Looked on Yelp for the closest highly-rated location, which took me to Kevin's. This isn't a place where you talk about the decor or the plating. You judge and review based on the food and service. I can 100% say Kevin's is the authentic stuff - aromatic broth, plenty of onion and greens. Top with hoisin and sriracha and you're all set. They have quick service, and your soup always comes out piping hot! Their broth is clean and flavorful. I love that they have hot chili oil and the table to add. Most spots only have sriracha as a spicy option, but the hot chili oil real adds a kick! I recently tried their vermicelli with pork as well and the pork was so flavorful! I've been to Pho Kevin once for takeout during the COVID-19 pandemic and I'm excited to go back again sometime. I ordered the following: 1) Pho Dac Biet - eye round rare steak, well-done brisk, tendon and tripe 2) Sinh To Khoai Mon - taro with boba The pho broth was tasty however I generally don't recommend getting to-go pho unless you know what you're doing at home or wherever you're going to eat it. In other words, if you're not ready to heat up the soup at home and pour it over the noodles/meat in your own non-disposable bowl, then it's not the wisest choice to get pho. It just has lots of components and needs to be eaten a certain way for maximum enjoyment. If you're not planning to re-warm the soup somewhere, I would not recommend getting a carry out pho order with rare steak slices. I loved how the boba was soft/warm (I think it was freshly made). I've come here regularly whenever I have a hankering for Vietnamese food or soup in general. So far I've tried their pho, bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup, and com thit heo nuong (rice with grilled pork). My favorite has to be the BBH. They typically ask you if you want the pig trotter included and I always say yes because that's one of my favorite parts of the dish. The soup is flavorful with hints of lemongrass. I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars because sometimes they do lack availability of some ingredients such as the pig trotter in BBH or bi cha in their broken rice and grilled pork dish. read more

Revisited Pho Kevin the other day. Still as good as ever. Added some pictures. Still the best tasting, and looking Pho in the area. Just wish they would do something about their restroom. There is still something stuck to the wall near the urinal (spilled food, or a stain), and it is disturbing. Also, they need to wipe off the walls adjacent to the tables where their customers eats. This business doesn't even earn the one star I gave them, I called in a take away order, for the grilled chicken and instead of white rice, I ordered vegetable fried rice, which I usually pay about $16-18. Upon placing my order the person on the phone said my total was $18.64.
