Decent pho. Got the basics right but first time I've experienced a bowl and longed for more noodles. Other better, more flavorful phos imo in the DMV area so keep looking. Service was fine and place was clean.

I took my daughter to the University of Maryland to retake her graduation photos. Afterward, we stopped by Pho Thom for dinner. My daughter said Pho Thom is a well-known spot near the UMD College Park MD. We easily found the restaurant and parked at the nearby CVS lot, just a one-minute walk away. Pho Thom recently reopened in a newly renovated space. The design feels modern and clean, with a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The owner warmly welcomed us and shared that they've been running the business for about 15 years. They moved from their old location to this beautifully updated space. We ordered a bowl of Vietnamese beef noodle soup and a shrimp Pad Thai. I've tried pho at other places before, but the broth often tasted too heavy with MSG or seasoning, leaving my mouth dry. After eating at Pho Thom, I didn't feel that dryness at all. The broth tasted light and fresh, and I could tell they used healthy, high-quality ingredients. My daughter also enjoyed her shrimp Pad Thai, it was flavorful but not greasy. This was the best Vietnamese beef noodle soup I've had in over 20 years. I truly appreciate how much care the owner puts into preparing healthy and delicious meals. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Pho Thom is one of my go-to take-out spots. A mix of Vietnamese and Thai, I highly recommend the P-2 and P-7 pho options, their grilled lemongrass pork (with spring roll) over either rice or vermicelli noodles, and the Pad See Ew. I've never dined in mainly because parking is a little difficult, but it's always very busy whenever I stop in to pick up my food. While I can't speak to the dine-in service, the hosts are as attentive as they can be for to-go orders when it's very busy. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is always consistently delicious. Definitely a staple take-out spot in the Hyattsville/College Park area.

I always eat here and the customer service experience was phenomenal per usual! I ordered trh basil rice with chicken and light spice and the stinger beans still were crispy and cooked to perfection. The sauce was very rich in flavor and coated the chicken well. When eaten with the jasmine rice it was a total experience! Thanks Pho Tom!

I used to always come to this spot for pho with friends but my recent two visits have made me consider checking out a new pho place to go to as a regular. The first time I found a gnat in my pho. Not too much of an issue but the second time I found multiple bugs or flies in my pho. I saw a winged small gnat and bugs with legs (very small) but might be from the bean sprouts or the veggies because they didn't wash them?? Not too sure, but it really turned me away from eating.

Food: We ordered a variety of food between pho, pad Thai, chicken satay, yum beef, and pla pow wahn. Everything was fantastic! The noodles, broth, and meat in the pho were flavorful and cooked to perfection. The yum beef was VERY spicy (even coming from an Asian family with heat good tolerance!), the satay was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The pad Thai was flavorful and the table LOVED it! Service: This was a little rough. It was busy, but we did see our waitress walk by and look over many times without checking in or refilling (or offering to refill) water. We had to ask for the sauce caddies that tend to come with the food and tables. I will say the owner or manager was very on point. She made space by pulling one of the front desk dining tables they were using to set carry out orders to combine with another so we could sit together (about 5 of us, so more than a 4 person table but not anything huge). When she saw the waitress hadn't cleaned the table well before we were seated she was sure to call her back and finish the job. Overall, I recommend Pho Thom. My family and I have been coming here when they visit since I moved to the area five years ago (and even when I just had been flying in and out looking for a place to live). Always consistently good food!

I have nothing bad to say about this place. It was good and that's all! Park across the street and walk so you don't have to circle around for street parking.

This has been a go to spot in college park for years now. Their pad se ew is delicious and fresh. Their pho is also great, however overpriced. Never really had to wait long for a table, and pho comes out quick. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

We stopped by Pho Thom on a Saturday evening. I was disappointed as prices were on the higher end and portions (specifically for the pho) were small. We ordered a large pho for ~$13, which had almost no noodles. I'm not sure if they were running low or if this is the norm for their restaurant, but it was definitely the least amount of noodles I have seen in pho. The flavor was good - I just wish the proportions were more even. The lemongrass pork dish was also slightly oily. Overall, definitely not the best Vietnamese food I've had and I would recommend checking out other places to eat in the area.

This updated review is based on my most recent takeout experience. I ordered a small pho (#4) - extra spicy. I specified that I wanted extra jalapenos and extra sriracha. The guy who took my order said ok and asked if I wanted extra cilantro as well. I said no but I could tell he didn't quite understand. I got home excited to enjoy my pho but I was disappointed. No extra spicy nothing was included as I had requested. They put the brown sauce and sriracha in one container so it was mixed up together...ugh! I don't even like the brown sauce. The meat which wasn't much was inside the extra salty broth. Maybe they thought I wanted my broth extra salty! This was my first time trying their pho and it'll be my last. I'm sticking to my regular spot!

Walked in, at 8:39 on a Friday and was refused service because they are "closed" the Asian man in front of me was sat seconds before me and they were going to serve him. It seems a bit unfair and racist, little do they know.. I'm actually half Asian myself . It's really a huge disappointment because it's a place I've been going to for several years. As you can see from the photo, I was refused service for what reason?

THEY CHANGED OWNERS AND DID NOT ADVERTISE IT. The family with the girl and boy that ran the front is not there anymore. So if you used to come here like me, I'm doing you all a favor and letting you guys know this place is TERRIBLE now that they switched owners. Not only that but much more expensive for a poor quality imitation of what this place used to be under the OLD owners. Small bowl is more than $18 now!!! Insane. I got a small bowl asked for half noodles they didn't do that and only had fatty brisket in it even though I got #11 which included also tendon and flank. YALL THIS PHO WAS COLD. The temperature was as if someone left hot tea out for 30-40 minutes. No more piping hot clear good broth, this broth from the new owners is MURKY AND BROWN and cold/lukewarm. I didn't say anything but just know I will NEVER come back its simply not worth it. Pickled onions was drowning in a weirdly sweet vinaigrette. Go elsewhere for better pho. I feel like these new people know they are not as good as the old people so they didn't tell anyone about the owner switch and are basically tricking people into coming and paying more money for worse pho riding on the coattails of a different owners reputation and I feel weirdly upset about that, like I've been tricked. If you guys used to come here all the time with the old owners then you will understand how upsetting this is. This place survived through the pandemic in the middle of PG that's how good they were. Pillar of the community just gone now. Also they won an award for being one of the best woman owned businesses but it's not woman owned anymore and the new owners haven't changed anything and they still have that sticker up even though it's not a woman owned business anymore. Like I said they are just riding the coattails of the previous owners.

It was our last day visiting fam in MD and we wanted to get some grub before the trip back to NY. There's a regular VN spot we frequent whenever we visit and it seemed to be closed so we didn't want to risk a drive out. We found Pho Tai 63 and called ahead to make sure they were open. Once that was done, we took the 20 minute drive to the restaurant and placed our order. The parking lot is SCANT. There are minimal spots. In this particular day (Black Friday), the place was packed, save for one spot and we got it. Upon entry, their dining room was full to capacity. We ordered some pho (that's all they have and I'm not mad - was a l'il disappointed at the time but we'll get to that). It too some time to get our food, much longer than expected, but I was not mad because there's definitely a reason for that. We brought every back home. Each pho dish was enough to feed two people my dad and brother ended up showing up at my sister's house the same time we got back. We had enough to feed everyone. The food is FRESH! the broths are clear and full of depth. You can make out the star anise and other herbs and spices. I split the shrimp pho with my brother since he doesn't eat meat. I got my sister the brisket pho. My son ordered the special pho and split that with my dad. Hubby also got a brisket pho and I got my daughter the chicken pho. The broths differ but each taste amazing. All of the pho came with the usual suspects: Thai basil, bean sprouts, hoisin sauce, lime and hot sauce. The accompaniments were plentiful so having extra mouths to feed worked out in our favor. My next trip south, I might have to do a taste test with both locations and see which I prefer. I wish they offered bahn mi sandos but honestly, with the caliber of pho they're dishing out, they are reigning supreme at the moment. Sometimes, it pays to focus on one thing and be REALLY good at it.
