I really like how this place has combination plates after lunch. That's super hard to find. For $12.95 you can get a entree with fried rice and an egg roll. I think that's a great deal. I ordered orange chicken and my husband ordered general tso's chicken. Mine was delicious and my husband actually tasted exactly like mine. Not sure if that was accidental but my husband was disappointed that's his wasn't spicy. Besides that it was great. We also ordered crab Rangoon which was also yummy. I've always liked this restaurant - they have their ups and downs with staffing and answering the phone but the food is always consistently good and fresh. They don't offer small portions for majority of their options and the large size is the same as most other Chinese takeout spots. Ordered a bunch of appetizers for a girls get together at my place one night. We ordered off UberEATS. We got crab rangoon, spring rolls, steamed dumplings and fried dumplings. The crab rangoon was good but the sweet and sour sauce was off. And so most of us didn't use it. The spring rolls were lightly crispy but almost understandable done and the inside was overly oily. The steamed dumplings tastes good - pork- but they were a little too slimy and again had that under some feel to them. The fried dumplings were over done, too crispy and the flavor was off. Idk what was even in it. Some of the food was hot some of it was cold. Over all lack luster. The star was definitely the star of the order. I might get those again. But not the rest of it. read more

One of the annoying processes you go through everytime you move is finding the good Chinese and Pizza delivery places. It usually takes me 4 or 5 tries of slogging through watery lo mein and frozen chicken to find the good stuff, but I'm happy to report on our very first try we hit the jackpot! King Kong is high quality classic american takeout chinese. The lo-mein is delicious and has clearly actually spent time in a wok, the chicken fried rice comes with plenty of chicken, the broccoli was all fresh and crunchy. Will try again and enjoy! Pretty good food. I ordered the General Tso's shrimp and some French fries. The delivery was quick which is great. I wish the breading for general Tso's was a little bit crispier in the sauce. But overall it was pretty tasty. (The white rice needs a little work though) The staff on the phone spoke good English compared to other Chinese restaurants so it was easy to order. The food was not bad, also wasn't good. I also got kinda sick a few hours later but I have a red meat allergy so it may have been from cross contamination. I ordered on grub hub and it said it would be ready for take out in 40 minutes which seemed like a while so I went early and it was ready in about 15 which is a lot more reasonable. I have to say that if not for the big red sign reading King Kong, I would not have believed that I was in the right place for my food pick up. It's kind of a liquor store/Mexican restaurant? Well not really, but the loud, Mariachi style music made it seem that way. Regardless, I think the food is terrific. I only ordered an egg roll (I believe if the egg rolls are good, so should be the food) and roast pork fried rice. By far, the egg roll was the best I've had in a very long time. The best in this area, anyway. Incredible flavor, crispy and delicious. I couldn't wait to dive into the PFR. I was not disappointed. Some fried rice can be very blah, but not King Kong's. I ordered the large spicy pork fried rice by phone and it was ready to pick up in under 10 minutes. It was quite tasty and the spiciness was noticeable but not very hot. The size was no larger than any other place I have been to, about a pint. I wonder how small their small size is. The price was more than expected, $9, but maybe I am still not accustomed to the cost of living in Maryland. The location can be hard to find because the building sits back from the street. It is also a bar with some pool tables and there were some people from the neighborhood having a few beers when I picked up my order. One major pro to this place; one of the employees of King Kong at least took my order over the phone in a polite and efficient manner. The food was ready within a reasonable timeframe when my husband and I went to pick up our orders and the food was pretty cheap. Con; The shrimp fried rice that I ordered was not to my liking, compared to some of the other versions of shrimp fried rice that I ordered from other Chinese food places. Additionally, there was only a scant amount of shrimp and fried egg in my order compared to what I have received from other places (the rice and ingredients in the order were ok but not what I would order again from this place). My husband ordered some meat that he expected to receive some type of sauce with (there appeared to be no sauce). We had also ordered some crab rangoons and were surprised that those also did not come with any sauce. The food came with some soy sauce, which was just ok. My husband politely shrugged it off which influenced me to also just be calm about it. I consider myself pretty fair minded and reasonable when rating restaurants and fast food places.
