Try the cheesesteak egg rolls & egg drop soup, satifying lunch for around $6
    Sheena K.

I checked out Joes Restaurant a few weeks ago for a bite to eat before visiting a friend in the area, I ordered 2 cheesesteak egg roll and a small egg drop soup. I was pleasantly surprised by how yummy everything was. They put a little spring onion in the soup which gives it a nice flavor. Given the location I see why this is only the fifth review. There were some seedy characters hanging around the front door, and I was offered to buy a single cigarette.

UPDATE:::: Saturday night take-out was good! The order: steak & cheese w/jalapeno peppers; shrimp lo mein; and 3 wings w/fried rice & an added egg. Everyone enjoyed their food. The fried rice could've had more sprouts, onions etc but it had flavor. My order was ready when I arrived. And the Asian cashier even said "gracias" to the Hispanic guy in front of me - that was very customer friendly! I'm moving in a few weeks and mad I'm just discovering this spot. Tried it to settle my hunger a couple of days ago - just 3 wings. I didn't want to waste my money or taste buds. Surprisingly good. I was expecting a bland flavor coupled with old oil - not the case. Sooo, their reward---I'm going for a Saturday night take-out run. Hoping round 2 is pleasant.

By far the worst Chinese takeout I have ever had. Honestly, you're better off eating a bowl of cereal for dinner.

I cant believe that this was only my third visit. Ever since I read about Manifest Bread opening…read moreshop in Riverdale, I've meant to visit but kept forgetting to until a couple months ago and now I will make a more concerted effort to stop by on my day off. Manifest Bread not only has a neat variety of menu options but, the ambiance!!! It's a cool interior, clean bathrooms, and AMAZING STAFF! I've come twice for breakfast and once for their jambon beurre sandwich. My first breakfast included: - sweet potato bialy: interesting-in-a-good way grouping of ingredients and the crust was crisp - biscuit with butter & jam: biscuit was flaky, crisp, and yet doughy; the right amount of butter, and jam provided tartiness/refreshing bite - olive oil cake: no complaints! My second breakfast included: - biscuit with butter & jam: a must have! - basque cheesecake: I have to be in the mood for cheesecake and I'd aay it was "light and airy" but may not be the best judge here - cardamom bun: last 2 times I came here, the cardamom bun was coated in a thick white frosting, but this time, it was different, so i HAD to go for it and for a fan of cardamom, this was superbub! ABUNDANT amountof cardamom and right amount of moistness! I would have ordered a bialy again but new I was going to have a big lunch so will get it next time. The jambon beurre sandwich was not what I had expected as it was more...flavourful and salty than I would have preferred as I like a plain butter and ham on a baguette sandwich...however, you can taste the quality of the meats used. UPDATE: Went back for breakfast and this time got the mulled apple cider and: - onion poppyseed bialy: I did not need creamcheese with this and it was fine, but if you eat the crust with butter and the apple butter - yum. Crust was on the tough-chew side, but flavor profile was good. Now that I've had it again, will stick to the biscuit. - morning bun: very flaky, crisp, snd the sugar just got all over and me being a messy eater, I felt like I got the sugar all over me and sticky, too. Flavour was great, buuuut... - buttermilk biscuit with butter and apple butter: yum!!!!

Parking is challenging at peak times. The selection of baked goods is varied and fresh. The line to buy items can get long. There's a decent-sized space to "eat-in", should you want. The sweet potato/chili/pistachio bialy is quite a creation, really like it, zings big time. I've never seen that flavor combo in a bialy before and hope they keep making it. The gingerbread with meyer lemon glaze has a very deep ginger flavor that's quite memorable. Not as keen about the breads. The community sandwich loaf is too plain for me and the sourdough breads are tame.

A top tier cheesesteak that rivals anything I've had in the area, Baltimore & Philadelphia. 10/10 The wife got The Butcher on Ciabatta w/ chimichurri, horseradish aioli, arugula roasted tomato. She devoured that thing --(not AI, I've always written like this lol) well, what she could bc our sandwiches were massive. 8/10 My daughter, Paris got the wings with fries and she loved her meal as well. All in all, this was a great experience. The lady at the cash register was very friendly and helpful when I purchased my cuts of meat to make burgers later at home, the space was clean, and food came out within 15 minutes. Funny story, it was my bday so I knew my Dad was coming by my house later in the evening so I saved him half of my cheesesteak bc I couldn't eat it all, and I really wanted him to try it. After initially refusing, he finally tasted it and said it was the best he's ever had, and this was hours later, after warming it up in the microwave. He asked me to send the address, and that this would be his new go to spot. Lol Definite 5 stars.

The service is always bad and the food is expensive so the least they can do is get the order right. When you walk in no one acknowledges you even if you're the only customer there. When they finally do they act as if they're doing you a favor by taking your order...no smile, no welcome in...nothing. One time I was there, several people were in the store and the workers were laughing and talking behind the counter. About three minutes went by before I asked if someone could hand me my order. Right after that a customer who had been there before me asked if they could order, so there's no telling how long they had been waiting before I spoke up. It's never a pleasant experience. It's a local neighborhood spot so I try to support but at this point they're playing in my face.

Since then, this place was renovated and it's nicely decorated in every section and the bathrooms are clean. They've added an ice cream section with lots to choose from. The menu is very impressive with a good selection for vegetarian and gluten free options and everything looks delicious. The group I went with this time was from my church and everyone loved what they ordered. The owner of the restaurant stopped by our table and introduced himself. He was very friendly and so was the waitress and the host. I ordered a Ruben, and Moroccan lamb sliders to go. Both were delicious! Then we went to the ice cream shop, quite a treat. The following day I went back with my grandson and had more time to browse around. I ordered the beet salad with goat cheese and my grandson had the confit duck leg with lentils, carrots with citrus demi glaze. We both really enjoyed our dinner. The shop had some very unique items and some hilarious objects. There's even a section where they sell wine and beer. This is definitely an unusual and fun place to visit. I highly recommend.

Followed my friend's way of eating them and used a fork and knife haha. Ordered a chicken sandwich too and it was delicious. After eating, we went downstairs for some ice cream and I got the super chonk flavor (malted vanilla ice cream, fudge, peanut butter, brownie pieces). It hit the spot, tasted like real premium ice cream. Glad to have checked this spot out. I liked the family friendly ambiance and can tell it's an important part of the community.

Capo Deli is one of those spots that has completely won me over, and I honestly find myself…read moreordering it more often than I probably should. The food is AMAZING every single time. One of my favorite things is catching the buy one get one free deals on UberEats because it makes it even easier to justify ordering it again. What really stands out about Capo Deli is how consistently fresh and flavorful everything tastes, even with delivery. The sandwiches and wraps always arrive well prepared, not soggy, and still tasting like they were made with care right before being packed up. My two absolute favorites are the tuna wrap and the chicken salad wrap. The tuna wrap is perfectly balanced, creamy but not overwhelming, and packed with flavor in every bite. The chicken salad wrap is just as good, with a smooth texture, great seasoning, and a freshness that makes it feel lighter than you would expect. Both wraps are the kind of meals that feel simple but done at a really high level, which is harder to find than people think. Another thing that makes Capo Deli stand out is the portion size. You really get your money's worth, especially with the BOGO deals. One order easily turns into two meals, which makes it perfect for lunch and dinner or even the next day. A lot of people also love the fact that the menu has a wide variety of deli sandwiches, wraps, and comfort-style options, so there is always something new to try without straying from what they do best. Even in other reviews, people consistently talk about how reliable Capo Deli is. It is one of those places where you know exactly what you are going to get every time: fresh ingredients, solid portions, and food that hits the spot. It is not overly complicated, just really well executed deli food done right. Overall, Capo Deli has become one of my go-to spots, especially for delivery. Between the flavor, consistency, portion size, and those UberEats BOGO deals, it is hard not to keep coming back. The tuna wrap and chicken salad wrap alone are worth the order every time.

They operate a deli counter in the front and a bar / speakeasy in the back. You can rent out the bar space for private events. Last night, we had the space (and a bartender!) to ourselves, along with 3-4 different types of sandwiches. There is something SPECIAL about their seeded Italian bread. The perfect flakiness and texture. I enjoyed the chicken fontina and Italian. The caprese was my least favorite--not sure if they use a balsamic or what, but the flavor wasn't coming through. Before I left, I decided to order a large chicken cheesesteak to take home for lunch the next day. It was a bit of a risk to order a hot sandwich that I would have in the fridge overnight but I heated it up in our air fryer/toaster oven for all of 10 mins and the bread was good (not soggy) and the sandwich itself was delicious. I enjoyed it so much, I didn't stop to take a photo until the last bite :) It's a decent size sandwich--I ate half for lunch (along with my own chips and veggies) and have another half for tomorrow so while it's not cheap, I think it's reasonable.
