This is my go to! I love them!!! I have countless lunch special/ dinner here since I live nearby, and needless to say it's because they did everything so well! Great wok hey everytime for stir fry items, really generous portions for curry and soup. It's authentic and not overly strong fish sauce like some other places. And their Thai spicy is not for the weak, it's truly Thai level spicy! My favorite has to be their drunken noodles, but I've had almost everything and nothing disappoint. They even have daily specials which is amazing! Call to ask for their specials if you're interested. Quick and fast service, even the online ordering will tell you it takes 20 mins...they always got it ready within 10 mins. We still haven't done in since we have pups and live really close anyways, but I wish to see more people go there and try their food! They remodeled the interior a bit and updated new online order platforms and payment options. Best of all, opens 7 days a week! I ordered lunch from here to go. When I saw what they had given me I was disgusted. First of all they forgot to give me a soup item I ordered and then they gave me spring rolls that looked old and disgusting. When I called them to tell them they forgot the soup, they hung up on me. Absolutely incredible! My friend recommended this place, which is so close to home, and I had no idea. First time ordering, and I'm already a fan. I ordered the drunken noodles with tofu and the mango sticky rice dessert because I'm a total dessert nut. Huge portion on the drunken noodles, enough for two but why share when it's this good? The heat level was just right, and although I had ordered delivery, the food was surprisingly still hot (didn't have to microwave). The tofu was fresh and easy chewable (sometimes tofu can be a bit tough or a bit crumbly). The sticky rice is a must-have. Super fresh mango slices, delicious sticky rice, and just overall goodness. Whenever I try a new local place and I really love the food, I call the restaurant afterwards to give them compliments. I did so this time, and the woman over the phone was super grateful and said she'd inform the chef. This warms my heart. Highly recommended! read more

For a local thai place I am pleasantly surprised by this place. The owners are extremely nice and I love ordering from here. Their lunch special is everyday which surprises me. I always get the Pad Thai special and it is fantastic. Definitely sweet and balanced with a nice tang. They give such a large portion you can probably eat this for two meals. I love adding some hot sauce to give it even more bite, but it honestly doesn't need it. The lunch special comes with a side of an egg roll or soup. I opted for the Tom Yum soup and I'm glad I did. My partner got the egg roll and it was extremely small (he probably ate it in 4 bites). My soup had the perfect amount of tart that made my mouth pucker. Great chunks of chicken and mushrooms. I crave this soup sometimes so it really hit the spot this day. The only thing that was lacking was the calamari. You can tell they probably bought this frozen and just fried it up at their place. The squid itself was super chewy and had the texture of plastic. The outside wasn't bad, but again wasn't fresh I love eating here in general so I will definitely be a regular customer. Definitely an authentic Thai restaurant in Colesville that my family and I have been dining at for several years. It's a very intimate restaurant located in a shopping strip with plentiful parking. For COVID reasons, dining in isn't currently available however they are quite busy with curb-side and delivery options. It's really nice to see the community helping out small businesses! Good spot overall the panang curry was good but a little flat and steamed dumplings were a little under seasoned. Panang curry had a good flavor profile but its one note. It needs more spice and more herbs to bump up the flavor. The dumplings were good but the filling needs more seasoning tasted flat. The lunch special you get a great bang for your buck at 13.99. Best Thai food in the area! The Tom Yum soups stand out as the most flavorful, with enough chicken in the serving. The garlic chicken and broccoli stands out; and for those you who are not traditional but our health conscious, they do have brown rice. read more

A very unassuming restaurant when you first walk in as the decor is likely 1-2 decades old, but this made us optimistic as to the quality of the food being good Food: Ordered calamari, crispy basil duck, and Panang curry with beef. The calamari was crisp, tender and plentiful. The calamari was pretty breaded, but still so crunchy. The duck was so delicious and crisp. I do think the portion size was smaller than it had expected. The curry was very creamy and had almost a peanut flavor to it. There was just one staff member working the front of the restaurant, but he was nice and was having lunch behind his desk as well. This was a great surprise to find such a solid Thai restaurant in this remote part of silver spring off of Briggs Chaney road. I searched several places and called many before I finally decided to go with this Thai restaurant. I knew I wanted drunken noodles and I had a feeling that dumplings would be important. It turns out they were essential! The dumplings though open faced had great flavor and the sauce that accompanied it gave it that perfect kick. I really enjoyed the spicy kick that the drunken noodles had. It was definitely on the back end, but once you get it you know that you have experienced something good. I was in the area for a meeting and decided to stop in for a quick bite. I visited on a Sunday around 6pm and it was empty. We had a party of 4 and sat at a corner booth. The staff was super friendly and welcomed us. I ordered the Red Curry with Shrimp and I thought it was okay. The portion size is much smaller than other Thai places I visit. It seemed like a cup versus a bowl of curry. Other dishes ordered was the seafood fried rice, drunken noodle with beef, and the garlic duck. All were good dishes and were made to order. We have eaten takeout from here many times over the years and always enjoyed the food. We have our favorites--drunken noodles and green curry with chicken. But tonight's order was such a disappointment. I hope this isn't a new normal, maybe it's just the Wednesday chef? The drunken noodles had a taste of old oil. This dish is usually very spicy and calms down the next day for great leftovers. Tonight I barely tasted any heat, just the old oil. The green curry dish's sauce had separated so that instead of a smooth coconut milk sauce, there was a layer of oil on top of a clumpy mess. I really hope this is a fluke, but if this is how the dishes are now, I'll find Thai elsewhere. read more

The food was alright, not the best but alright. My main issue was the lack of cleanliness and atmosphere. I also watched as a couple sat down, but got up after a couple minutes as they took in the food all over the floor, lack of ambiance, and inattentive service. I won't be back. The prices are less expensive then some nearby Thai restaurants, but it's just not worth it from my perspective. We sat on a booth with two regular chairs on the other side. I was terribly uncomfortable in the booth . It was sunken in and not suitable for sitting. It looked fine, but as soon as I sat I could feel something very wrong. This is my go-to neighborhood Thai place. Though I've dined in a few times (before Covid), my review will be based mainly on my Takeout experience. I've had multiple dishes from Siriwan and for the most part, they have been good. Flavorful, nice portions and ingredients. Sometimes the food can be a bit dry and sometimes a bit oily. I do find that some of the dishes look very different when experienced in the restaurant in comparison to takeout. My go to is the Thai Fried Rice w/ Tofu. I've had this in every meat/seafood option but Tofu is by far my favorite version. The Pad Thai is a hit or miss, this is usually quite dry and not very flavorful. The Pad Z-Ew is good and so are the drunken noodles. My roommate ordered Tilapia randomly once and it was good ! Overall they have pretty good options and I recommend ordering from here. They are also very fast ! Usually food is ready in 15 minutes or so. Additionally, the Thai iced tea is yummy and so is the mango sticky rice (a little overpriced). Good texture with rice and meat and the addition of red bell peppers and basil leaf for flavor? Exquisite. Plain and simple. I get a sweet kinda spicy taste, but it's stupendous. For some reason, in this area of northern Silver Spring / Burtonsville, there is a bizarre dearth of Thai restaurants, so I was delighted to find Siriwan Thai a couple of years ago. I go back every couple of weeks, and find both the food and the pricing to be great. Generally, I'll get take out, as I live just down the road a bit. My favourite is by far the Pad Ze-Ew, which is fantastic. I usually get it with chicken, and its a good, generous portion with broccoli. They have a great spicy mushroom soup, which is my go to side. Their lunch specials can't be beat. As other reviewers have noted, this is not the best place for ambiance, about on par for what you'd expect in a shopping centre. During the hotter parts of the year, the place can be a little bit warm, particularly when they're busy cooking, and multiple fans seem to be the only way they keep things cool. The seats aren't particularly comfortable, and the decor is in desperate need of a refresh (with much faded, and old). If they ever did a remodel, the place could be top notch. read more

I ordered 4 items: the spicy basil fried rice was only half cooked (threw it away), the red curry was watery, drunken noodles were average and the spring rolls were Meh! I ordered by calling and the person who took the order slammed the phone on me for no reason whatsoever - Very rude. It was better quality food than I expected. Actually, I went this place just because I have discount coupons from them that almost expire soon. I heard this restaurant before but never felt want to try because there are a lot of good Thai restaurants around my area. Anyway, I can say it was a good chance to try something new. Even though their restaurant is quite old and tiny room, but it was not a big problem for me. In the other side, it made me feel like you have food at home, causal environment, no formal service or server. I think it is something different from many Thai restaurants. As for their food, they were good as standard as Thai food is supposed to be. I ordered Summer Rolls, Chicken Satay, Poh Taek soup (seafood soup), Spring rolls and Chicken cashew nut. I waited an additional 35 minutes for a takeout order a d NO ONE else was in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was not worth waiting for. The Panang sauce was super watery and not flavorful at all The spring rolls were also not tasty at all. Not sure how you mess up spring rolls. Nevertheless this was not a good choice. Siriwan redeems itself for takeout! This time around, I ordered the shrimp with mixed vegetables- no garlic and onion due to a food sensitivity. The sauce was quite thin but sweet and flavorful, and there were plentiful broccoli, green beans, cabbage, mushrooms, and carrots. Only 6 large shrimp (tail shell still on) but that's pretty standard for most restaurants. The pad woon sen with shrimp is mostly thin rice noodles, with minimal vegetables and sauce- not very memorable. Pa Ra Long Song (we ordered with chicken) is a peanutty yellow curry with cabbage and broccoli, spice level 0. Chicken drunken noodles were flavorful, though a bit oily by nature. It would be a good spice level for most people, but if you tend to enjoy spicy food, definitely request to amp up the heat. I wanted to give local business a chance and man was that a mistake in this instance. I ordered the spicy tomato basil fried rice with beef and the good part is...it was ready in about 10 minutes. When I got home and tasted the food, I was thoroughly disappointed. The rice was completely gummy and nearly flavorless. They skimped on the beef portions and some of the beef was burnt. I felt like I got robbed. You are better off going to Ruan Thai in Wheaton or one of the many Thai restaurants downtown than ordering anything from this place read more
