This place was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. We came early on a Friday so they weren't busy, but by lunchtime more and more people started to come in. We seated ourselves and they took our order right away. The outside of the building isn't much to look at nor is the decor on the inside, but I find that places like these have the best food. I ordered the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and my husband ordered the crispy Maryland chicken. We also ordered some bahn mi sandwiches to go. Everything was delicious. Definitely try the crispy Maryland chicken and if you've never had coconut juice try it at least once. I liked it so much. I looked for it at Costco and sure enough they had it, but it didn't taste as good. Similar but not exactly the same.

Gà xối mỡ has crispy skin and is moist inside. However, I'm not a fan of their spicy ginger sauce. The portion is big imo. Hủ tiếu is pretty good. Cọng hủ tiếu (the noodle) is chewy and probably the best noodle I have had in the US. The sauce for dry version is on the sweet side. The soup is a bit salty and I don't like really like the flavor of the broth. So I'd recommend going with the dry version. Great price great food!

We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and got seated right away without a reservation. You HAVE to try the young coconut juice. It's so refreshing and comes with 2 young coconut slices inside which are soft, sweet and delicious. I wish I got an extra juice to go! Summer Rolls: 10/10. Peanut sauce was yummy and I can't think of anything to make them better. Maryland Fried Chicken: 9/10. The perfect crispy skin and the dipping sauce is tangy yet sweet giving an explosion of flavor. Definitely wasn't as good the next day in my air fryer so I recommend eating it there. Pho: P5 Tái- sliced eye round steak: 7/10. It was good but nothing memorable. There's closer/better places to get pho in DC. I'll definitely be back for the chicken, apps & coconut juice!

I've been going to Mi La Cay ever since it opened many years ago. It's my go to when I want a quick delicious meal. Everything I've eaten here has been really good. There aren't many pho spots in Wheaton so I like the convenience of not having to go too far when I'm having a craving for Vietnamese food!

Service is consistently good. Food is always on point. Best Banh Xeo ever, definitely recommend. Pho is also very very good.

Mi La Cay is one word: consistent. They're part of my regular rotation -- not because the food is life-changing, but because it shows up and does its job every single time. And I respect that.I tend to bounce between the Bun Bo Hue and the Bun Ga Ca Ri (curry chicken soup, extra limes). Both hit the spot in that comforting, reliable way.Service can vary depending on who's serving you, but most of the time it's good and efficient. No drama, no surprises -- just solid soup and a dependable meal.

Had dinner here with friends and I had the pork chops with eggs and rice. The pork chop is marinated so well and is so delicious. It came with plenty of white rice and salad. My friend ordered the Quail with rice, pho and some noodles. The spring roll is also very good. They offered boba tea and smoothie as well.

If you're looking for a really delicious meal in Wheaton, Mi La Cay should be on your list. I went one weekend when I was doing other shopping in the area and was really happy I did. The service is efficient, food comes out fast, steaming hot, and plated like the kitchen knows you've been thinking about this dish all day. I went with their famous crispy chicken, and now I understand why it has a reputation. Perfectly golden, with a crunch that announces itself before the first bite, it was seasoned so well that I found myself pausing between bites just to appreciate it. The chicken somehow manages to be juicy without sacrificing that shatteringly crisp skin, which feels like a culinary magic trick. Here's the kicker: it was so good, I came back the very next day. (I know what I like haha.) And guess what? The second round was just as delicious, proving Mi La Cay isn't a one-hit wonder. If you're after flavor, speed, and value, this little spot delivers all three. We were so full of food we were pleasantly surprised when we got the bill and saw we paid $35 for two big plates and a soda.

My husband and brother and I were visiting the area and had dinner at Mi La Cay after seeing it featured in a YT video. We shared spring rolls and the Maryland crispy chicken, two different pho dishes, and the pad thai. The portions at this place are substantial, especially the pad thai. Overall we thought the food was tasty. The pho broth was pretty flavorful and the noodles perfectly cooked. The crispy chicken was okay, but it definitely needed the sauce on the side since it wasn't really seasoned otherwise. The tomato rice was somewhat bland also. The spring rolls were tasty but didn't come with lettuce or herbs, which is what I'm used to at the Vietnamese spots in NYC. Service was quick and attentive. I would come back though when I am visiting the area again.

One of the only places I found spicy pho! Delicious and one of the best pho places in the DMV area. They have lots of other viet dishes as well which are super yummy. My friend is obsessed with the fried chicken on tomato rice. The lemongrass chicken was yummy too. Service is fast, pho came out pretty quickly. Will probably come again, new go to for viet food!!

2nd time coming back to this place. This time I try something that I never heard it before, but they are good, I'm glad I try it. Won't regret it at all

Came here on a Sunday afternoon, good parking, Like many my friends wanted to try the viral video of the maryland chicken. ENVIRONMENT: Casual chilled no music. Lot of chatter APPETIZERS: The Spring Rolls with Peanut sauce is good and will order again.. Skip the Fried Quail Legs from the appetizers you will feel like your eating Turkey on National Lampoons Xmas Vacafion STAFF The Host seated us not too friendly. Server didn't introduce herself or followed up. Waited over 8mins to get attention for the check. The guy that brought the food was the nicest and professional. MAIN MEAL Food was great. I went with the combo. 2 med size shrimp? Flavor was there. No complaints and a good value

I found out about this place when I saw a video about the famous MD chicken. I love the crispy skin on the chicken, moist juicy meat. Red fried rice reminds me of my childhood too. Beef wrapped in grape leaves is flavorful too. Grilled pork is decent but my complain is that it is as thin as jerky...

Ordering was so easy and simplified. You can just go up to the cashier to place your order and pick a table to sit down. We enjoyed our specialty drinks while waiting for our food. The fruit teas with boba and jelly were awesome. It had a nice sweetness with delicious jelly. Our food came out quickly. We started with fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. There were a lot of large shrimps. The Golden crepe was huge with perfect crunchiness. This was perfect size to share with a few people. The Grilled Pork vermicelli was delicious. It was perfectly grilled with flavorful grilled onions. The P1 pho was yummy goodness with a hint of sweetness of the broth. The S4. Hue Spicy Lemon Grass Soup was good. I expected it to be very spicy which I was a bit concern. But it was a medium to mild spiciest. So I still have my taste buds to try the Banh Mi. We had B4 Grilled Pork and B10 Special Bahn Mi (so we can try the different meat). Like the menu stated the bread was freshly made with perfect crunchiness. The Bahn Mi were flavorful! It was perfectly balance with meat and vegetables. I'm definitely coming back.

THEY CHANGED OWNERS AND DID NOT ADVERTISE IT. I AM SO SO DISAPPOINTED…read more When this place first opened, it quickly became my #1 spot because it was really the only pho place in the area but it USED TO be so good! The family with the girl and boy that ran the front is not there anymore. So if you used to come here like me, I'm doing you all a favor and letting you guys know this place is TERRIBLE now that they switched owners. Not only that but much more expensive for a poor quality imitation of what this place used to be under the OLD owners. Small bowl is more than $18 now!!! Insane. I got a small bowl asked for half noodles they didn't do that and only had fatty brisket in it even though I got #11 which included also tendon and flank. YALL THIS PHO WAS COLD. The temperature was as if someone left hot tea out for 30-40 minutes. No more piping hot clear good broth, this broth from the new owners is MURKY AND BROWN and cold/lukewarm. I didn't say anything but just know I will NEVER come back its simply not worth it. Pickled onions was drowning in a weirdly sweet vinaigrette. Go elsewhere for better pho. I feel like these new people know they are not as good as the old people so they didn't tell anyone about the owner switch and are basically tricking people into coming and paying more money for worse pho riding on the coattails of a different owners reputation and I feel weirdly upset about that, like I've been tricked. If you guys used to come here all the time with the old owners then you will understand how upsetting this is. This place survived through the pandemic in the middle of PG that's how good they were. Pillar of the community just gone now. Also they won an award for being one of the best woman owned businesses but it's not woman owned anymore and the new owners haven't changed anything and they still have that sticker up even though it's not a woman owned business anymore. Like I said they are just riding the coattails of the previous owners.

It was our last day visiting fam in MD and we wanted to get some grub before the trip back to NY. There's a regular VN spot we frequent whenever we visit and it seemed to be closed so we didn't want to risk a drive out. We found Pho Tai 63 and called ahead to make sure they were open. Once that was done, we took the 20 minute drive to the restaurant and placed our order. The parking lot is SCANT. There are minimal spots. In this particular day (Black Friday), the place was packed, save for one spot and we got it. Upon entry, their dining room was full to capacity. We ordered some pho (that's all they have and I'm not mad - was a l'il disappointed at the time but we'll get to that). It too some time to get our food, much longer than expected, but I was not mad because there's definitely a reason for that. We brought every back home. Each pho dish was enough to feed two people my dad and brother ended up showing up at my sister's house the same time we got back. We had enough to feed everyone. The food is FRESH! the broths are clear and full of depth. You can make out the star anise and other herbs and spices. I split the shrimp pho with my brother since he doesn't eat meat. I got my sister the brisket pho. My son ordered the special pho and split that with my dad. Hubby also got a brisket pho and I got my daughter the chicken pho. The broths differ but each taste amazing. All of the pho came with the usual suspects: Thai basil, bean sprouts, hoisin sauce, lime and hot sauce. The accompaniments were plentiful so having extra mouths to feed worked out in our favor. My next trip south, I might have to do a taste test with both locations and see which I prefer. I wish they offered bahn mi sandos but honestly, with the caliber of pho they're dishing out, they are reigning supreme at the moment. Sometimes, it pays to focus on one thing and be REALLY good at it.
