After looking online I found pho real with many positives reviews on yelp and google. Upon enter I was seated quickly for lunch time on a Wednesday. Interior wise a bit outed but run by a local family. I decided to order the large pho Tai. Food came out quick and I always tell people that you can tell if the pho is authentic by the taste of the broth. The broth was rich and flavorful with decent portion size. My partner suggested some vegan pho (tofu, broccoli, basil, bean sprouts, rice noodle, veggie broth, etc.) one evening when I was really sick and I've become a FAN for life! Came here for some pho! Located in a strip complex which was not difficult to find. The hours are a bit weird and inconsistent with what is posted so beware. Came here 45 min before posted closing time and they said take out only so we decided to say eat somewhere else. Second try coming here we were successful in finishing a table. The round eye and brisket are a bit dry. It's too bad the round eye beef doesn't come out rare to prevent overcooking. The amount of noodles seems similar in the small and large bowls, with more broth in the large. The summer roll was fresh but I found the sauce too gloopy (it wouldn't adhere to the roll), and the roll itself was very heavy on iceberg lettuce. I've been dining here for many years, and the quality of their food has never changed. Pho Real is one of my favorite pho spots in the DMV and on top of that, they definitely keep their establishment very clean especially during this unusual time. Service is on point as well! Their menus are taped onto the wall for each table which I also posted a photo on yelp so you can know what you can decide beforehand. I got a large #2 with a side of white vinegar onions. I got the onions (I drizzle a little bit of the Sriracha hot sauce) as a pallette cleanser. Their homemade pho broth is always so refreshing and perfect for colder days. I forgot to post a pic of their fried egg rolls, but I highly recommend trying them out as an appetizer. Just a heads up, they did discontinued durian smoothie. I'm originally from California so I take my Phi VERY seriously. I've had my fair share of bad pho in the past and I have to say this place has got to be in the top 5. The broth is so rice and full of beefy flavor. I've had Pho before that literally tasted like water and this was not that. The noodles were nice and thin and perfectly chewy. I got the rare beef and fatty beef and it was perfect. The rare beef was not tough at all and the fatty beef had the perfect amount of fat on it. You need to come here the next time it's rainy and gloomy. I also got the spring rolls and it was decent. Could use a little more meat instead, but my pho was so good I didn't care. Yay!!! They're back and open. Menus are on the walls so people aren't touching them. If you're dining in, there's a max of 6 people to a table and some tables don't allow seating (for social distancing purposes). They have hand sanitizer at tables where seating is allowed and they seat people accordingly. There's also a huge plastic sheet spreading patrons from the payment area and they wipe down the tables after each use (I just witnessed it). The food is still scrumptious and delicious. It's tough to write reviews for a place that has been reviewed as much as this restaurant! Let's see: ample, free parking? Covered. Slightly sketchy strip mall? Covered. Super clean interior, including restroom? Covered. Great service? Covered. So what can I add? Well... while waiting in the car for my friend to arrive, I noticed that most of the folks exiting and entering were of Asian appearance. That bodes well for it being authentic. And ... Most of the reviewers I've read seem to refer to what number dish they had, and many of them don't go into detail so I can do that. But first let me start with my delectable summer roll. I chose the non-fried one, stuffed with shredded cabbage, shrimp and pork. How they keep the cabbage crispy while the shrimp and pork bits are cooked perfectly, is a mystery to me. The peanut sauce to dip in was thick and flavorful On to my #10! I opted for this, with "slices of eye of round and fat brisket", for two reasons. One, I almost always order chicken dishes when eating out, and two, coming in from the frosty wind I needed something really hearty. ;) It sounded like the combo of eye of round (tends to be dry) with fat brisket (some fat makes it juicier) was a natural. Let me tell you, it was divine! I've never seen so much meat in a bowl of pho, and all of it tender and full of flavor. Not a lot can be said about noodles, or optional sprouts, basil leaves and lime wedges except that they were super fresh. My friend asked for thinly sliced onion in vinegar, which I had never had before, but it was a lovely addition. As my friend noted, one of the best things about pho is that the longer it takes to eat it, the more the flavor develops. Even a small bowl is enormous and I shouldn't have, but I did eat it all. It was a wonderful lunch experience yesterday, and although it's a bit of a drive for me, I would eat here again in a heartbeat if I was in the area!
