Oh, this is pho real my regular pho spot, no joke. I didn't review this spot for so long but I can't keep this to myself anymore since they are my no.1 since I moved to MD in 2021. I have since then had sooo many different pho places, even the ones people highly recommended here in Wheaton... Nope. This spot is better. I come here usually on a cold weekday, or whatever reason I just need my pho fix. To me, this spot is the standard of a good pho broth, the perfect noodles, and just simply the perfect ambient/ vibe for pho. I am writing this in the summer but looking at the photos again make me wanna go have my pho again! It's so good. Pro: moderate size parking lot, friendly staff, good food. Con: price. Ever since pho nam in Gaithersburg went down hill in quality, I've been on the search for a new pho restaurant. After looking online I found pho real with many positives reviews on yelp and google. Upon enter I was seated quickly for lunch time on a Wednesday. Interior wise a bit outed but run by a local family. I decided to order the large pho Tai. Food came out quick and I always tell people that you can tell if the pho is authentic by the taste of the broth. The broth was rich and flavorful with decent portion size. They didn't skimp on the garnishment, the bean sprout portion was big. All in all, had a good meal here and would recommend anyone to come and try this place. read more

Love this place!!!! My family and I have been coming here for over 15+ years give or take. This location specializes in PHO hence there business name Phi REAL!! It is the real deal! The broth is always consistent and clean broth and deep rich flavors. The atmosphere and location is very quaint and warm. Friendly and very welcoming diligent staff. So my niece boyfriend Austin had taken me to this humble Vietnamese restaurant it was ok. Ambiance was traditional and service was fast as usual just like most Vietnamese restaurants to delivering pho. I like how I ordered extra meat and they separated that. Still my favorite go-to Pho in the DMV!! I love that they're not far from me. They're in a busy shopping center with very small parking spaces so be careful parking here! The service is great. The employees are so friendly! I mostly do take out, but one day, I should dine in I still get my number 9, extra spicy with extra jalapeños and extra sriracha. Great find! Arrived in the area too early to check in to my hotel and found this little gem. Perfect day for pho. It's in a small shopping center, lots of parking available. It's small but they are super friendly! I ordered a large beef pho and added some meatballs on the side, the broth was flavorful and everything tasted great! I just realized that I have not left a review after years of visiting Pho Real. My partner suggested some vegan pho (tofu, broccoli, basil, bean sprouts, rice noodle, veggie broth, etc.) one evening when I was really sick and I've become a FAN for life! I'm tall and slender (like Popeye's love interest, Olive Oil - LOL) and I can EAT! The pho is served in small and large portions - and even a small pho is enough to fill my tall/slender self up to capacity! If I'm not feeling good or just craving soup from the cold weather, Pho Real is my go-to spot! Came here for some pho! Located in a strip complex which was not difficult to find. The hours are a bit weird and inconsistent with what is posted so beware. Came here 45 min before posted closing time and they said take out only so we decided to say eat somewhere else. Second try coming here we were successful in finishing a table. Homey and simple Vietnamese spot! Pho prices are reasonable. The large bowl is more worth it for only a dollar extra, but the small size is a good amount of food if you don't want to eat too much. The server/owner is friendly and the food came out quickly. I wanted to try their avocado smoothie but it wasn't available because the avocados weren't ripe yet. I was disappointed but I respect that they wouldn't compromise the quality just to make money. My partner had the veggie pho and enjoyed it. This place focuses on pho so that's the only available entree here. There are also spring and summer rolls, and a selection of smoothies and juices. The pho is great: clean, fragrant, balanced, nuanced broth, fresh toppings, perfect chew on the noodles (though they arrived a little stuck together and needed some separating), and some of the best tripe and tendon I've had in pho. The round eye and brisket are a bit dry. It's too bad the round eye beef doesn't come out rare to prevent overcooking. The amount of noodles seems similar in the small and large bowls, with more broth in the large. The summer roll was fresh but I found the sauce too gloopy (it wouldn't adhere to the roll), and the roll itself was very heavy on iceberg lettuce. I think it could have used more noodle, shrimp, and herbs. The hubs enjoyed his avocado boba smoothie. Great, efficient, friendly service. If this were closer to me I'd go all the time! read more

I had a terrible experience here. If you have a disability and have a service dog, DO NOT GO HERE. They will be extremely dismissive and rude. The person I was speaking to was not even listening to me as I told him that he was discriminating me. I've been dining here for many years, and the quality of their food has never changed. Pho Real is one of my favorite pho spots in the DMV and on top of that, they definitely keep their establishment very clean especially during this unusual time. Service is on point as well! Their menus are taped onto the wall for each table which I also posted a photo on yelp so you can know what you can decide beforehand. I got a large #2 with a side of white vinegar onions. I got the onions (I drizzle a little bit of the Sriracha hot sauce) as a pallette cleanser. Their homemade pho broth is always so refreshing and perfect for colder days. I forgot to post a pic of their fried egg rolls, but I highly recommend trying them out as an appetizer. Just a heads up, they did discontinued durian smoothie. Also, be careful when you use their sink in the restroom because their hot water does get scorching hot. Parking lot tends to get packed, but I never had an issue finding one. read more

We stop by this spot craving a nice yummy vermicelli bowl. Unfortunately, this place does not serve this. To my surprise it only serves Pho. I admit I was very disappointed. However I did enjoy the Pho. With that said, I wouldn't mind coming back but only if everyone wants strictly Pho. We all got the #10. It was very delicious; hence the five star rating. The bowl in my photos is a small. The large was a few inches bigger. The broth was excellent, the steak was soft and the noodles were perfect. It came out quickly. The service was good and they kept our cups topped with water. I noticed they had a few regulars due to the fact the cane in telling them what number they wanted. I'm originally from California so I take my Phi VERY seriously. I've had my fair share of bad pho in the past and I have to say this place has got to be in the top 5. The broth is so rice and full of beefy flavor. I've had Pho before that literally tasted like water and this was not that. The noodles were nice and thin and perfectly chewy. I got the rare beef and fatty beef and it was perfect. The rare beef was not tough at all and the fatty beef had the perfect amount of fat on it. You need to come here the next time it's rainy and gloomy. I also got the spring rolls and it was decent. Could use a little more meat instead, but my pho was so good I didn't care. Their peanut sauce was terrific too! The owners seemed so nice as well! There wasn't that many people when I went and I would be so sad to see them ago so please please support your local businesses and try this place! read more

Favorite pho spot of all time. I've gone around various parts of Maryland trying to find a spot better than this place. What are the odds of the best pho spot being the closest one to where I live? Walking in, you can expect to be greeted warmly and served promptly. The bowls come out quickly, and it always tastes so fresh! I always get the #1, generous offering with the meats as well! I also recommend the 'ca-phe' (I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right) but it is the most delicious bitter coffee I've had. This place is the best on those kinda sick, rainy days.
