    Pho tai

We dropped kids off at a birthday party nearby and wanted a quiet adult only dinner that was quick. Pho was hot, authentic and delicious.

Large P13. Tai, Gan, rare steak and tendon.

This place has been solid for over ten years. I returned for the first time since 2011. Still a great shop for a bowl. Parking is slim and on uneven terrain, so be careful!

Loved this place for delicious pho on a winter night with friends! I had P12, the Tai Chin Pho (with steak & brisket), and it was delicious. The large size is a massive serving at an excellent price and I brought home enough leftovers for at least one more meal (probably 2!) I also loved the Thai tea. We also had two appetizers of the fried spring rolls. Service was also fast and friendly. Looking forward to coming back!

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants. Variety of dishes. My kids love the lemon grass chicken/beef rice dish and I like their pho. Their summer rolls and spring rolls are good too.

Appertizers...Really? Does no one proofread the menus?!

Was waiting for friends that were going to an event we were going to nearby, and I didn't end up eating here. So, I'm going to give 2-stars just based on the experience; it wouldn't be fair to give them 1-star because I didn't have the food. My friends wanted to go to this Pho restaurant on that humid 97 F day since it was next door to an event we were going to. I was early waiting for them there. The A/C isn't even on. I complained to my friends when they walked in. Also, I didn't want Pho in the 97 F without the AC on in the restaurant. I was willing to eat one of their non-Pho items, but guess what? They didn't have it! I told my friends & the server, this is ridiculous; I'm walking to Wendy's! Wendy's was the closest restaurant, and I didn't want to drive since I would lose the great parking spot I had (Parking is pretty awful in that shopping center). I asked if either would join me, and they decided to stay, which was fine. To be fair, the server said he could have the A/C turned on, but I was already ready to go at that point. But seriously, how can a restaurant not have like half their menu items?!?! Fun fact I learned earlier today: The combination of the question mark & exclamation at the end of the sentence is called an interrobang! I got to actually incorporate what I learned in a sentence although I've used interrobangs before; I just didn't know what they were called.

Although pho relatively tastes the same at most places, I like to think that every pho place has their own "secret ingredient" to make it their own. For some reason, the pho here tastes like the most generic pho I have ever had. It's not bad but it's not special or exceptionally good. It just takes like how you would expect pho to taste like and there's nothing wrong with that. It's just something to hold you over if you're craving pho and want something that's nearby. Honestly, if I didn't live 5 minutes away from here, don't think I would visit as frequently as I do now but glad there's an option when I need something warm and soupy. I always opt to get the pho (small) with brisket and flank in it. Nothing special. It always hits spot but sometimes I'm left feeling a little hungry afterwards which is rare for me because I don't have an overly large appetite these days. As for appetizers, I've tried a few like the papaya salad and the beef wraps and both was crazy salty. Maybe it's supposed to be like that, but not my cup of tea and will strictly be sticking to pho. The Thai iced tea was also sickeningly sweet, basically orange syrup with a hint of tea and not worth it. Service is as expected at any pho place. You won't get royal treatment here. You get water, your pho, you pay and you leave. Battabingbattaboom. Overall, prices are fair, pho itself is decent. Give it a try if your passing by but can't make any promises that it's gonna be life changingly good.

Was recommended this place from a Vietnamese coworker. We went on a Sunday afternoon. The owner served us and was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere feels authentic Vietnamese. I got the bún bò huê noddle soup. It had thicker noodles than a usual pho I usually get. The broth was super tasty and there was a good noodle to meat ratio. They also bring cabbage as a soup topping in addition to the bean sprouts, limes and basil. My husband loved his pho as well. This will be our go-to pho spot in Rockville!

I don't really have anything to complain about. You can get a good, hearty bowl of pho for a reasonable price and that's all I really expect. Service is quick and polite. Parking is a little tight but we were able to get a spot right in front. The interior is unassuming and there is one table outside. My boyfriend got a chicken pho (which I personally don't think is TECHNICALLY pho) but he said it was good. I ordered a more traditional beef pho with meatballs and tripe. The broth was hot, flavorful, and the meats were good. The garnish was also very fresh. We ordered egg rolls to share and although they were a little oily, they were still tasty. If you're craving pho, this place would definitely hit the spot!

3/30/19 I was introduced to this place by my wife and her sister. This place is located at: 11782 Parklawn Dr, Rockville, MD 20852 This place is pretty spacious from what I saw. We were greeted and seated promptly. The smoothie I ordered was peach flavored without milk in it. I prefer yogurt in my smoothies instead of milk. I can't remember the name of what I got..okay it was the Bun Cha Gio Spring Rolls with Vermicelli. Oh, I added a side of sliced beef to the order. I should added grill onions too, but I didn't think of it. The food was delicious and so was the smoothie. My wife and sister in law had their smoothies after their meal, but I wanted mine with my meal. I like washing my hands before I eat, so this have me the opportunity to check out the men's bathroom. I saw that the bathrooms are divided by sex. The men's bath room has two sections. The first is the sink, mirror and urinal. The second is the royal throne which is more spacious. Overall, I hope to return here soon and try the pancake crepe.

To further fulfill that nostalgic feeling of my weekends having lunch at Eden Center with my parents as a teen, I ordered an avocado smoothie to sip while looking over the menu. I have never been to Hanoi so there were some dishes I hadn't tried before but if a Vietnamese restaurant tells you what their house specials are, you should listen to them. I only ordered three of their house special dishes because I only had one other person to share these large portions with but I definitely wanted to try more. All three dishes were hits! The bun bo hue had a deep shrimp paste flavor, which is exactly what I was craving. Some people complained that it lacked lemongrass, I agree, but it's in there and not a big deal for me. There was plenty of meat in the bowl, the meatballs were bouncy and meaty (maybe even made in house), the pork blood was great quality and not chalky at all. Red cabbage is served on the side with thai basil, lime, and jalapeños; great alternative for banana blossom. The bun cha Hanoi was our favorite. It comes with a heaping serving of house made meatballs and pork belly. The fish sauce it comes in was a little blander than I like but I asked for a little extra raw fish sauce and chilis to spruce it up. It's all served with a mound of vermicelli and fresh veggies/herbs. This was my husband's first time trying this dish and he was obsessed! We also added a nem cua be (crab egg roll) add on so we could try one. Glad we only got the one because it was huge and packed with meat! It was delicious but would have been very filling as an appetizer. I also ordered the banh cuon cha lua which I took one bite of and had to pack home because I was too full to eat it there. This is one of my favorite dishes so I had to try it too! The rice paper crepes were great! Filling was a little lighter but the portion made up for it. Again, I spruced up the fish sauce a bit at home. I really enjoyed dining here. It fills that craving for authentic Vietnamese food without having to go all the way to Silver Spring or Eden Center. I will try to be a little more adventurous next time we head over and try the bun dau mam tom. It looks amazing!

She gave me three possibilities and I chose the one from the new menu that they called the Vietnamese seafood crepe. . Did not know what to expect but when it arrived I was very upset cuz it's basically a big deep fried egg, stuffed with shrimp, sprouts etc. I was upset because I had gotten one of these at another restaurant and it was just gross. Really awful. Well so much for that. This crepe is so delicious, I will come back here just to get it. The egg itself is wonderfully crispy. It does not get soggy when you dip it in the dipping sauce. It comes with large pieces of romaine lettuce and a huge spring of basil leaves. It was awesome . The ambiance is very pleasant. It is large, spacious, clean, well-lit, with attractive pictures on the wall and two screens in the front. One has beautiful marine life swimming around and the other one has menu items. It is relaxing and attractive . The service was friendly and efficient. Although I don't think her English was very advanced, it didn't interfere with my ordering or getting something I liked. Bottom line, I have added this to one of the restaurants I'm going to put in my regular rotation. I can't wait to try their other stuff. TLDR: WALKED IN OFF THE STREET NOT KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT. FOUND A TREASURE OF A RESTAURANT THAT I WILL RETURN TO MANY TIMES OVER.

Their shrimp spring rolls are delicious, as well. Their food isn't overly salty, as well. - Menu. There's something for everyone, even vegans. Their menu states their vegetarian options use vegetable broth. - Price. For the portions and quality, it's good value for money. - Location. Easy to find. It's in a small plaza amongst other shops and restaurants. The interior can be fairly tight. It's a decent space, but their tables and chairs cannot accommodate more than a party of 4. - Service. Pretty good. They gave me an estimated wait time of 15 minutes for our order. There is a small rack in front of their front desk, where you place your order, where they put their takeaway orders. Everything is packed tightly and neatly, which is very helpful, given that you may be transporting broth and dishes that are wrapped in saran wrap, as well. None of our food spilled. What's Not - Banh mi. The flavor of the banh mi was good, but my husband felt the sandwich was a little dry. There was no additional flavor to the sandwich and/or toppings, aside from the fillings. My husband added some sriracha sauce to the sandwich, which added some flavor and some moisture. To each their own, but just be aware, depending on your preference for sandwiches. - To go charge. The receipt showed that we were charged an additional fee, because we ordered takeaway. On the one hand, it makes sense, because there are additional containers and packaging required for takeaway. I appreciate that it was shown on the receipt. On the other hand, there are not many restaurants I have come across that charge for takeaway, and I was surprised of such charges. - Parking. It's a small plaza and there are parking spots available, but it can be difficult to find, depending on the day and time you're there. Final Answer Willing to come here again, but not a first choice.
