I love pho and it's especially perfect when it's cold and rainy outside. This location is always convenient because it's near my bank, and I always end up walking over to one of the nearby shops to walk off my food. The pho is good and always hits the spot. This used to be one of my go-tos though I will have to say that recently, it's a hit or miss because the broth sometimes feels like it's missing something. I've also had the boba here and it's also a hit or miss! Most of the time it's great, the boba is decent texture and the tea itself is good. Definitely satisfies the boba craving though.
Tricia and Lupe gave me excellent service. It is apparent they are professional and they are knowledgeable in all areas of the restaurant. 10/10
Why go to the IHOP next door when you can have the most delicious brunch in Maryland- Vietnamese style! No wait, quick friendly service, clean space! Special spicy beef tendon noodle soup sooo good- I drive 30 min cause there is nothing in Howard County that comes close! Melt in your mouth tendon and brisket! Regular pho also very good- I wouldn't recommend the sandwiches etc- better elsewhere!
Convenient location. Close to many shops. Great service, Friendly and efficient. Food came out pretty fast. Tofu summer rolls - yum Regular spring roll and Vegetables spring rolls are not bad, also are not the best. Pho broth- definitely needs some serious modifications, it was tasteless, not flavorful at all, especially comparing to other authentic Vietnamese pho restaurants, the pho is not very good. Despite they do come with decent amount of meats, which was great. Thai tea and bubble drinks- pretty good. Clean interior. Easy parking. Price- it is on the pricey side for a Vietnamese restaurant.
We just picked up carry out pho since I'm sick and part of the order just made me more sick. I will start by saying that with the prices of meals lately, the price point is okay. They give a decent amount of meat - a change since my last review. The soup is ok, nothing amazing. In my opinion the soup could be a bit more savory. Also, they give very little noodle for a large bowl of pho. What made me almost hurl was the bag of condiments. The veggies were browning and cooking inside the bag giving an awful smell. The vegs couldn't be used which is a bummer since it's supposed to pair with the pho.
An Olney staple - always ordered the large P4 and spring rolls and enjoyed Will continue to stop by!
I ordered takeout of pho with no meat & it was delicious! I still had some noodles left Over, this is getting your money's worth for $8.95 trust me. Perfect meal for a rainy day
This place is clean and cozy. The staff is also very friendly! All the food we ordered was fresh and had great flavor. We ordered two kinds of crispy spring rolls, round-eye Pho and a Bahn mi with grilled pork. So delicious and would come back again for more!
We came here on a cold and rainy afternoon and as always loved the Pho! We ordered the #1 pho which has thin eye round steak and noodles. The meat was perfect and not fatty which is what I like. The broth on its own has great flavor and you have all the traditional sauces and things to add to make it your own. We also ordered their grilled pork roll which is very god and features a small crisp stick that has this great crunch with a rice wrapper and a piece of grilled pork. The service staff was very friendly and checked in on us from time to time. The interior was very clean and has plenty of seating. Definitely willl be coming again!
Compared to its sister location in Gaithersburg, I find the Olney location of Pho & Grill to be a little lacking in certain areas. The subpar service and the lackluster food could use some improvement, which merits 3 stars at best for me. Some interesting observations from my experience: * They don't have prices on the menus. At least not the one that I was given. As a result, I had a little bit of a sticker shock at the end of the meal with total bill. At least, they give a small discount for cash. * Food wise, I had a number of items that were average at best. Pho was somewhat disappointing with a murky broth and sad condiments to come along with it. Goi cuon was of solid presentation but the sauce that came with it was definitely on the bland side. Was excited for the bun bo hue, but found it lacking severely in spice. I had some banh mi to go and was a little bummed out over the quality of the bread and semi-skimpy meat fillings. * Vietnamese iced coffee was real solid and super cold. I think they were refrigerated prior, which gives some added chill. * The restaurant has the potential for some natural lighting (and perhaps blinding sunlight) and have taken steps to shade the windows for customers. It might seem a little dark in here, at all times. * Not crazy about the service. Sure, it varies depending on who is working that day, but I sensed some apathy on the phone and in person. They're weren't mean per se, but they did not seem to want to go out of their way to make us happy.
The service is friendly and fast. We got a large regular pho but the broth was slightly tasteless. The appetizers are always a slay especially the spring rolls and fresh summer rolls.
I generally order carry-out at this location but last night I decided to dine-in with a friend for dinner because it was cold outside and we were both craving pho. When you walk in, you actually place your order at the counter. I personally don't like this as I feel like I'm paying an establishment gratuity based on service and I'm technically not being served if I have to physically go up myself to order my food (hence the 4 stars). We both just ordered water for our drinks last night but I noticed a lot of people do order boba here so I'm sure it's a popular option. You can't go wrong with spring and summer rolls at any pho place really and I had a small #4 (eye round flank) and my friend ordered a small #5 (brisket fatty flank). Both tasted delicious but they definitely could have added a bit more proteins into the dishes. What's great about this restaurant is that they offer special ways to save you some money. So if you decide to purchase 5 Banh mi's, you get a 6th one for free and if you decide to pay in cash, you receive 10% off your total. In my opinion, I still prefer Mi La Cay as my go to pho restaurant, but still an excellent option if you're in the area!
Service was food. The man who took my order and my friend's was nice and helpful. The food was average. I used to go to the Gaithersburg location and I really enjoyed the food, but I haven't been to that location as I moved to another county. I ordered the Famous Grilled Pork Rolls as an appetizer and it could have been good but the pork was a but dry. Fortunately I checked when they brought it out as they brought me the wrong rolls. My friend ordered the pork banh mi and she had to ask for extra mayo because it was dry. She said it was better once it was added. I got a chicken banh mi to go for my husband. When I got home I separated the cilantro, cucumber, and pickled daikon so it wouldn't get soggy when he ate it the next day. In doing so, I noticed immediately how measly the portion of chicken was. My husband said the flavor was average too. He said other places we've gone to are better. In short, the food was just average. I would not return to this location if I was in the area. If I am in Gaithersburg, I'd be interested to see if the food is as good as I remember it. Tip: If you pay in cash they offer a 10% discount. Guess that offsets the average food.

For the winter you can't go wrong with a delicious pho. This restaurant was a new spot for me to try locally. I'm glad I stopped by as I was not disappointed . I had the shrimp pho and the broth was delicious, and the shrimp were not overcooked which was a big plus. The beef pho was also delicious! The only issue was the service. There is a bunch of younger staff members so expect to flag some of them down to get service. Beef pho 8.5/10 Shrimp pho 8.5/10 read more

I was craving pho on a cold day, and I am so happy I found this place! Convenient location with plenty of parking. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area and want some yummy pho. The service is great. Very friendly and fast too! The restaurant has plenty of seating and is spacious. I ordered the P5 pho, and I love it. The pho comes in two sizes: regular and large. The regular sized bowl was plenty for me. It comes with the usual toppings (bean sprout, basil, jalapeños and limes). And don't worry - they have sriracha and hoisin sauce at the table. :) We also ordered the pork spring rolls. The spring rolls come with vegetables and a tangy and sweet sauce. YUM. What more can you ask for in a meal. Thank you to the people at Pho and Grill. I'm ready for my next bowl! read more
I tried this cozy restaurant the other night and was pleasantly surprised the staff are super friendly and will discuss what you may want to order. We ordered the Grilled Sesame Beef and Lemongrass Beef, both different prepared, both as a vermicelli bowl. The Sesame Beef is like a squared kabob and the Lemongrass Beef is thin pieces of beef marinated. The egg rolls were crispy and very good. You can ask to add an egg roll and only partial meat. If your not familiar with Vietnamese food they will help you! Great local restaurant!! read more
We came for lunch on a Saturday, 11/9/19. The place was half crowded. In contrast to other pho places we have visited, you must order at the counter and pay, then food is delivered to your table. There is a poster on the right of the counter listing all items served, but the prices are not listed. Then there is a framed menu on the counter with the prices. This was confusing. The tables were not cleared and cleaned from prior customers when we searched for a table. We ordered the small pho for $8.45 with eye of round and meatballs. It was served in 10-15 minutes. It was fine if you're not too hungry, but seemed more expensive when compared to Pho 88 in Beltsville for a regular size of pho for $7.79. Also, limited amount of meat was in the pho. Even the meatballs were cut into quarters. This place is only okay, but nice to have in Olney for cold winter days. read more

Good service and solid marks for food. I tend to get Pho Ga (with white meat chicken). It isn't the most flavorful Pho I've ever had but it is quite good for quick service. The summer rolls and spring rolls are also good. If you pay with cash they discount your check 10%! read more

Much improved!! Menu has been expanded, service is fast. Food is solid. I tried the spring rolls and they were hot and crispy, very flavorful filling. It also came with a small fresh salad. I love a good bubble tea! So pleased to see that they offer it now. Definitely recommend the taro tea. The pho is good, it tastes the same as it did before the pandemic and the owner/management changes. I have only tried the eye round, my husband likes it a lot also but he's not a big fan of the meatball. The hot pho soup is perfect for fall/winter days and any time you want something comforting and simple. read more

We're regulars and we've never had a bad experience. Love the people and the food! Pho is always terrific - outstanding broth and packed with noodles and plenty of meat. Pho Ga is my favorite. We also love the Chefs Seafood Special. They know what we like before we even order! Bah Mi are great - perfect bread and tender, perfectly seasoned fillings. Crispy Spring Rolls are light and not greasy. Nice skewers, too! Friendly, courteous staff. They know our orders and always make us feel welcome. Clean and relaxed atmosphere. Happy to see a full restaurant after COVID take-out only. Keep up the good work and good food! See you soon! read more
I have been ordering Pho and spring rolls for carryout. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant has dim light so you can't tell if it's clean or not. They're following covid-19 protocols with social distance and a mask. I am only giving the restaurant 3 stars because of their food. I always order a large P6 which is a special combo. Their P6 used to have plenty of meat, but lately, it got smaller. Also, I always order the spring rolls, the same with their pho, it used to be big. Now, the spring rolls got smaller. Their prices went up over the years but the proportion of their food got smaller. The pho broth isn't tasty compared to other pho places. I hope they keep the quality consistent so that customers will continue coming here. read more

Why they send me this raw ass chicken? Like y'all tryna give me salmonella? And then when we called the lady just goes I can't help you because it's always raw, baby it should be brown. This look like a dead chicken how you gonna give that to a customer? That's unsafe. Tryna kill me out here. read more
It always seems to me that I keep coming back to this place anytime I crave for pho, not because the food is good, it's decent, to say the least but because I live not too far away from this establishment. And being somewhat of a regular, I can say that each time I order a bowl of pho, it taste slightly watered down with only a few added vegetables. As a result, the broth is not as potent and earthy as some many would like. Today, I decided to try something different that isn't my usual. I went for their lemongrass pork with vermicelli since they don't offer lemongrass beef. But the person was kind enough to recommend sesame beef instead. Sadly, I stayed with the pork. Now the pork flavor coupled with the added spices and seasoning was there but ultimately, the meat was dry and chewy. Luckily, they were chopped into thin strips or it would have been tougher to finish my meal. Overall, would I come back? Yes, but only because I live so close. read more

Ordered online after 1pm. Food was ready in short time. Grilled Pork Roll was something I've not seen on other menus, and it was tasty and fresh. I kinda thought the crispy wheat component would be bigger, but it was great as is. The dipping sauce was warm like it was heated, I'm not complaining because it was a cold day, and the roll is mostly room temperature food. I was interested in something like street-food and this item hit the spot. The thai iced tea was good, but I'm not sure it was $6 good. I would get the grilled pork roll again, and maybe try the fresh limeade next time. read more

This place is always quick, has boba aka bubble tea and the Pho staples (soup options and grilled pork)... and for Olney that is pretty good for a family friendly casual dining establishment. Staff has also been very friendly and attentive. However, if you are a Pho fan this place will just be eh- I like the Germantown one which has more drink varieties, more roll options like Chinese sausage, more flavorful meat (with the chopped peanuts), more menu entrees and combo options. Would love to see them step it up here since I do frequent regularly with the kids. Kids the bubble tea. Lots of flavors in that category, but only regular or with milk - no Slushie option or jellies. read more

Went here for a quick lunch and was pleased with how good the food is. You order at the front, which saves time. I got the lemongrass beef, and my friend got the pho (tendon + eyeround). The pho was in a very large bowl, and the broth was delicious. The noodles were well-cooked and there was a lot of tendon, which was really great! Some places skimp out on the tendon but this place definitely did not. The lemongrass beef was delicious, with just the right amount of char. However, the rice to meat ratio was a little off, there was a lot of rice and I wish there had been more of the beef. Still, it was amazing food and I would definitely come back again for more. read more

The food overall was good and pleasant- but not mouthwatering or a place to rave about. I come here every few months and usually get the vegetable pho which comes with tofu. A staple and is average pho. This time I decided to write a review given that we tried some non-pho dishes and I have a better grasp on the food. The noodle dish was warm, sweet and sour with a well-balanced amount of acidity. Having said that- the real tastiness was in the sour sauce they gave us (probably made with fish sauce). The veggie banh mi was about $8 and was a bit pricey for something that is 80% bread roll. The asian market in Wheaton has much better bahn mí for about $4 though it is a restaurant so of course it will have to be a bit pricier. This one was heavy on the bread and had some veggies in it but they weren't very flavorful and it didn't come with any kind of sauce which made it dry. I asked for some mayo so I could create a spicy mayo with the sriracha given and that made the sandwich more enjoyable. I'd recommend asking for the sauce that comes with the lemongrass noodle dishes to dip your banh mí in. That would make the bread easier to down. Overall the food was good but just average. Employees were very helpful and pleasant though it isn't the typical waiting experience :) it's more of a cafe sit down style. read more
