Good pho for a quick lunch the spring rolls are very good. Pho OK it is walking distance from the hotel so good for a quick lunch.
The pho is okay, nothing special. The service was not good--an older man was rude and did not speak politely to me as a customer. They charged extra for a bag and to-go box without informing me beforehand. Also, the prices charged were different from what was listed on the menu. Overall, not a great experience.
I was craving pho one evening and came across this place in Silver Spring. Let me start by saying I got the small portion and it was more than enough to satisfy a craving. The flavor was great, service was quick and they answered any questions that I had. The inside of the establishment looked clean and there was a variety of people dining in. I highly recommend if you're looking for a place to enjoy pho. The prices are reasonable as well. Will be back!
The bad reviews really seem like fluke experiences people had. we've had 0 major issues. Just remember to wait to be seated. My small nitpicks are at the end. Solid 3.75 stars. Don't let the negative comments fool you, this place is nice. It's a good simple place for dinner. Service is prompt and attentive and the Pho an Bahn Mi are tasty as are the starters. We recommend the pork and Beef bahn mi and the Fish cake (which is kind of like a patty of sorts. It's hard to describe but tasty) and any seasonal roll. The meat on our bahn Mis on Friday was perfect, and I loved the slightly smoky flavor. The Winter Roll appetizer needed a little punch of something inside, but the sauces all helped (you get sriracha, a "seasoning sauce" that's basically soy sauce, and another at the table). It was still really nice. When we came a few months ago, we loved the Pho as well. My little nitpick across the two visits is that sometimes the service dips a smidge in promptness. It's still very attentive and kind, but keep that in mind. You'll still get whatever you need in sufficient time. It's just not the kind of bustling place where servers are constantly milling about.
The pho here is very good, especially on a cold winter day. The broth is very flavorful and meat fresh. The service was wonderful and let me order while my friend was still in her way. Inside, there is bright lighting and much seating and wasn't too packed when I went.
The food here is something to RAVE about! The pho broth here was so good, some places don't have great broth but I would not say that about Pho Tan Vinh! The customer service here was also so kind and quick! I would definitely recommend this place if you're stopping in for concert or just in town or live in town!
After arriving in Silver Spring from DC, I dropped my suitcases off at the hotel just down the street and stopped here for a bite to eat. At the time I arrived, I was the only one in the dining room. By the time I got my food, three more tables had been filled with diners. Quite a few people picked orders as well. The shrimp soup was very good and flavorful. I do wish they had cleaned the shrimp a little better. But the broth was flavorful and delightful. Those summer rolls were bomb! Bursting with veggies and flavor. Not pictured, I did have a strawberry smoothie. The menu offered boba, but unfortunately they were out that day. Overall a chill atmosphere. There was a tv in the corner playing a Spanish-speaking comedy; I found it pretty funny. The service was quick and friendly. They do have a full bar, which appears to be open all day.
Used to come here in high school as it is in walking distance from the Metro and what used to be City Place mall. I ordered the chicken pho and the crispy spring rolls. The broth was amazing for the flavor and I added Sriracha and Hoisin sauce to perfect it. I usually get to go boxes but nope I finished it all. It's really still as good as it was in high school. The staff was nice and attentive. It was quiet when we went on an early Tuesday evening.
This place is hands down the best Pho and my go to place in Silver Spring area. I always get the Pho Ga (chicken). The broth is very light and tasty but what makes it the best is that the chicken is tender. It cooked well enough not to get that strong chicken smell but overcooked to make it rubbery. Also recommend their summer rolls(A fresh garden roll with shrimp, basil leaves, rice vermicelli noodles wrapped in rice paper). It is served with their special peanut dipping which is really amazing. The place is pleasant (noise level is low). Service is fast. Pho comes within a 5 minutes if not crowded. They dont offer physical menus any more. There is a QR code you can scan to see the menu but you a waiter comes to take your order. One thing lacking though is a great cocktail menu. They have Vietnamese iced coffee. It is sweeter than your regular Thai ice coffee. They use sweetened condensed milk. Just something to note.
I called in a vegetarian PHO without Tofu at 6:25 pm. When I arrived 10 minutes later it wasn't ready. I walked to my car that was parked illegally only to realize my broth wasn't hot. I went back and requested someone in leadership. A lady came from the back and said we were busy, we are sorry, etc. I also asked why the broth wasn't hot and she said the lid expands. We'll get different lids or wrap it in plastic wrap! I was charged a bag fee and a container fee. Great customer service would have been a discount or a refund. Additionally, the menu prices need to be updated. All the photos are attached to reflect my review and experience. I am a Chef with a degree in culinary arts. The customer is "ALWAYS" right. Excuses only satisfy those who make them. I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN IN LIFE.
This is a good Vietnamese place. I have been here twice and last came with my wife in December. My wife and I had a large Pho Tai, Nam, Gan, Sach, Ribeye Rolls, and a Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling. We had leftovers and they charge for take home containers. The service was good but the only reason to dock a star is the Ribeye Rolls listed "grilled" but forgot to say peanuts and I'm allergic to peanuts so they made us another one and charged us for both. Also, we happen to like Lotus Cafe down Georgia a bit better.
On a business trip and unfamiliar with the area, I liked the look of Pho Tan Vinh. I am happy I visited! The restaurant is small and it was about half full despite a late arrival for lunch (after2pm). Service was immediate and our server was friendly, despite a bit of a language barrier. I ordered vegetarian pho. It was spiced well with a nice flavor of lemongrass and lots of noodles. Tofu was freshly fried and vegetables were all fresh and al dente. Truly delicious! They had a wide variety of banh mi, pho, vermicelli, apps, and others. Portions were good. They also had a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian options. I got the chicken vermicelli and it was very flavorful and delicious. Inside was clean and designed with a modern Vietnamese flare. The staff were very nice with one of the waiters joking with us throughout the meal. read more
The food was decent. I got the beef dish, the sauce was good but the beef had a lil gamey taste to it. When I mixed the rice with the sauce that tasted good. We shared fried chicken. That also had good sauce and it was crispy. Overall it had decent food. The staff were friendly but took a while to take our orders. That could be cuz they were busy and not enough staff. Also we did order in 3 different phases so I could understand if it was confusing. But they were nice. read more

Used to come here in high school as it is in walking distance from the Metro and what used to be City Place mall. I ordered the chicken pho and the crispy spring rolls. I can't get enough of the Pho Nam (slow cooked brisket pho with thinly sliced brisket, noodles, bean sprouts and jalapeños) at this restaurant. I also love the Ga Nuong (grilled chicken) with rice. This dish features strips of grilled chicken with white rice, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and sweet-and-sour sauce. Pluses: -The brisket pho and grilled chicken entree are delicious. -The restaurant is within walking distance of stores and parking. -The interior is cute and service is friendly and efficient. Minuses: -I was given the wrong order during my last visit (chicken pho instead of brisket) and I did not enjoy the chicken pho! Word of advice: Be sure to check your takeout order before you leave the restaurant! -I tried the meatball pho once and wasn't a fan of the tough meatballs. Social distancing / Covid precautions: -The mask mandate is posted on the door and you can scan a barcode at the register to see the menu. -Indoor dining is available; however, most customers are now placing carryout or pickup orders. -During my most recent visit, the person who took my order kept adjusting his mask. I got a glimpse of the kitchen when he walked to the back to place my order and I noticed that one person in the kitchen was not wearing a mask. Pretty good pho if you want to don't want to drive to Wheaton or DC. Like any other pho - you should eat it all in one sitting. We got the veggie and chicken pho. I wish my veggie pho had more tofu, but overall it was good and comforting on a cold day. The noodles were a bit salty for me, or maybe my taste buds were a bit off this time. The hot sauce added the extra kick I was looking for. I was happy with the way they packed it since my walk back was about 15 minutes. I thought the broth would spill out, but only a little bit did. Thanks for doing such a thorough job with packing! The spring rolls were very good and I'd get them again. Next time, I'll try the Banh Mi! read more
Overall, 3.5/5 but will round it up to a 4/5 because the pricing is decent and that initial spoonful of noodles and hot broth really hit the spot. This is a convenient location for dinner if you're about to go to an event at the Fillmore. Fortunately, it wasn't too packed when my friend and I arrived for dinner today around 5:15 PM. It seemed like pho was the most popular entree, so we knew we had to try it here! One thing we noticed when the plate of beansprouts (+ other garnishes) came out was that they give you lemons instead of limes, hm. PHO TAI, NAM, GAN, SAC (LG.) - 12.95 If you're hungry, definitely get the large size. I felt like it's worth the $1 upgrade for a bit more noodles/soup. The pho came out piping hot which was perfect. The broth was steamy which cooked the medium rare eye round beef cut. After dumping a bunch of beansprouts in my bowl, I was ready to feast. The first sip of broth along with some noodles was amazing. It really hit the spot since the temperature was right and the broth was flavorful. The cut of meats were a bit thick, but whatever - the quality was good. However, as I continued to eat, I could feel my mouth drying up (which is how I measure the amount of MSG or salt in my food). The broth does have good beef flavor, but I also think there's more MSG than I'd prefer. The noodles were perfect in terms of texture. It's not soggy or overly starchy, a bit al dente with a slight chew, which is my preference. I also think there wasn't a lot of meat - maybe 4-5 pieces total of eye round and brisket, 1 piece of tripe, and 2-3 small chunks of tendon. Most of my bites were just noodles and broth since I had to portion out the meat for every fourth or fifth bite or something. Since I live pretty far from Silver Spring and don't see myself coming back very often, I'd probably try other restaurants in the area next time. If I did live close by, I could see myself coming back here and there for a nice hot bowl of pho (it really, really hit the spot in the beginning) and try their summer rolls (Goi Cuon) which seem to be really popular here! read more

Ok, so it's kind of between a 3.5-4 star for me Flavor was decent, but the veggie freshness just wasn't there. I was expecting nice crisp lettuce and an abundance of crunchy pickled vegetables. In this case, the lettuce was very limp, and the veggies we just bland and kind of soft. Bun Ga Nuong is one of my all time favorite dishes and I was spoiled to have an AWESOME go-to spot in my previous city, so I own the fact that my standards may be higher than some. Although I wasn't overly impressed, I'd probably give this place another shot in case it was a fluke. read more

I have passed by this location so many times and finally stopped by recently with some friends. We ordered some summer rolls, vegetarian, Pho Tai, Pho Tan Vinh and the vegetarian one as well. The beef broths were so rich. Very small amount of msg. You don't feel dehydrated after the Pho. The meats were prepared fresh and thinly sliced. The vegetarian pho is is a fully vegetarian broth. Confirmed after asking a couple servers. The location is great as theres street parking all around the main street and also a couple of garages as well. Perfect place to take your family as they have large tables as well. The rice platters were definitely popular as I saw some other diners order them as well. I'll definitely be back to try their other dinner entrees and boba as well read more

Got an Uber eats delivery from here. Ordered the pho nam. My sprouts were rancid. They were leaking and discolored. Very dangerous for consumption if we didn't check the food first. My husband and I could've gotten very ill. read more
Happy to have found a solid pho place in downtown silver spring! My husband is a pho lover and he approves. He got the P10. Pho Tai, Nam, Gan, Sach. He said the broth was very good. I got the R5. Bun Cha Ha Noi (grilled pork marinated with fish sauce + vermicelli noodles). It was interesting because they don't serve it all in a bowl like I'm used to. You get a plate with the noodles and veggies, and the pork comes on the side. I poured the fish sauce from the pork onto the noodles and mixed in the veggies. Not sure if that's how you're supposed to eat it, but it was good! The grilled pork was very tasty. We also shared the shrimp summer rolls, which were good with the peanut sauce. Service was quick. The place was busy during dinner time on Sunday evening. I heard the table next to us ordering wine, which I've never heard of at a pho restaurant, so I guess it's classy too?! But the vibe is still very casual. Overall we're happy to have found a good pho restaurant near us! read more

This was my first Bahn Mi sandwich and I wasn't disappointed. The beef was grilled perfectly and the sweetness of the pickled carrots and onions went great with the kick of the sliced jalapeños. Also dining in was great. Service was very pleasant. There was even a birthday party going on in there. read more

Walked in on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised. Great pho. Good soup flavor and meat is tender. A large bowl runs you about $11.95/ small at $10.50. Adding beef meatballs cost $6 though, so that was confusing (are they adding a whole pack?; why is it so expensive?) read more
Great service first off. Loved the garden rolls with peanut sauce. Thank you for giving me a generous ramekin of that peanut sauce which I love to bathe my garden rolls in. My pho arrived nice & hot and the broath was tasty which means that they take the time to prepare and brew their broath (boil the bones, veg etc.) which makes it have a good flavor. This is definitely a relaxing place to come and enjoy a nice hot bowl of pho, especially on a cool day. Thank you! read more
