Visited a few days ago and honestly, I probably won't return. I have my go to spot for pho, but they're not open on Tuesdays and I was craving some pho so I decided to come here. I came in, placed my order but didn't have the friendliest encounter with the cashier. Didn't get a welcoming vibe at all. I asked for mine to be extra hot and he said "can't do that!" The place was clean and had lots of diners. I got the no. 2 (well done brisket). I asked for extra jalapenos and I was charged for it. Only 50 cents but still. My go to location would never. I love pho and there's pretty good pho here. Not the best I've ever had but it's hot, packaged well, affordable and a good amount. I usually order online then pick it up. Their service is quick so I've only spent a total of probably less than 5 min in the actual facility. The pho broth is flavorful, which is the most important thing for me. It could be a tad hotter (temp, not spice) but other than that, it's great. Lots of meat and toppings, plenty of noodles. Enjoyed the experience at Pho5UP. They have a really cool set up for a pho restaurant. They have the typical pho options with a slight variation in their apps. We tried their salad chicken which was pretty good. Very refreshing with lots of mixed veggies. The chicken was a bit tough. As for the pho, it wasn't one of my favorites but it was good. The broth lacked a bit of flavor even with the siracha and hoisin. Our server was attentive and our food came out quickly. I'd certainly return. read more

It's not bad, but definitely isn't my first choice in Pho. No complains when it comes to service, they usually greet you within 5 minutes and came to the table yo refill our waters. They get 5/5 there. Now onto the food. I hot Thai tea which was the perfect blend of sweet and black tea. Don't skip out on the appetizer - my mom loves their papaya salad and their summer rolls hit the spot: Now, the spicy broth wasn't really spicy. The beef was sliced TOO thin. I didn't realize this was a chain! There's one in Crofton that I've been to as well, and it exceeded my expectations for a bowl of pho. I was hoping to have the same experience here. And I was not disappointed! The pho is still incredibly tasty, and quite possibly the best pho I've had in the DMV! (Yo, DM me if you know of a better spot, I'm all ears!) The service was also great. They checked on us during the meal, which you don't always get at a casual-fast place like this. They were really friendly, too. The location is a little tucked away, but it's worth finding it on your GPS. The décor isn't stellar, but I wasn't there for the visual aesthetics. I was there for pho, and pho I got! It's a great spot for a bowl of noodles, either on a cold day or whenever you're in the mood. They keep up the 5UP consistency, so high marks there. I was in the mood for a bowl of pho after a cold and windy fall day at work. I've been meaning to try Pho 5UP as it always catches my eye when driving on 29. When arriving, there's a small parking lot just outside of the entrance. You walk in, and there's plenty of seating options. We ordered the spring rolls (which came with a delicious nutty sauce) and the bowl #1. The broth was delicious, and it came with plenty of the toppings. Service was nice and fast. 5 Up found the magic. It took a little time, but they got it now. On. Point. One of the criteria for a Michelin star is consistency - and these guys have that star. Day in and day out, they found that right note for the pho broth and hit it every time. Trust me I eat here 3 days a week. I've been to every pho place from Ellicott City down to DC. Their beef pho is the top shelf. Only the Mi La Cay over at Pho La Cay in Columbia is on the same level. After having a not so great experience with the Pho 5UP in Odenton, I was pretty skeptical when my friend said we should have lunch at this one in Fulton. OK, the difference is night and day! More on this later. It was slightly tricky navigating to this but I should have trusted my gps instead of my idea that I knew which shopping center it's in! I was so wrong. Anyway, I arrived timely and have to say the parking lot by the front door is quite small. Perhaps there's one around back, but I didn't check. It's lovely inside, very nice decor, and we were seated immediately in a booth that was very comfortable. Waters, menus and drink offers followed quickly. The waiter was friendly and professional. We received our piping hot (giant) bowls of pho within 3 minutes of ordering, and my friend's cola came right afterwards. The food was excellent! I chose the #16 which is rare steak and fat brisket. If you've never had this before, just know "fat" doesn't mean it's fat pieces or that it's more fat than lean meat! It just means they don't trim every speck of the fat away, which makes it more juicy. At least, that's my inexpert belief. The broth was so rich and flavorful - my friend was surprised that hers (same only with well-done meat) was a bit more spicy than expected. She really likes spicy so it was fine, just a surprise. She asked for extra white onions and shared them with me. Like the basil, sprouts and jalapeño slices, they were crispy and fresh. A wedge of lime to squeeze in some bright citrus flavor was a great addition. We were never rushed at all. We spent 90 minutes, eating at a leisurely pace and talking. My bill without tip was only $13.73 and I took home enough for two more meals! Now about the other place. It's a store front in a strip mall, and is obviously geared to takeout orders. They have a handful of tables to eat in but the menus are the laminated single page type and the service when I went was horrible. The food was decent but not at the same level as this lovely, service-oriented restaurant. It works for the local clientele, I think; it's a military town & probably their takeout orders far exceed people dining in. No comparison is fair, this is just for information. I've been here twice for lunch and each time it was not busy which is just right for me, since there's not much parking in front of the restaurant. Service was prompt and the restaurant was clean and the tables were not sticky like some other places. I've tried the spring shrimp spring rolls, combination pho special, and bun Bo hue. All in all I think everything tasted great. As for flavor, it's always pretty consistent and good for what's in the area since there's not a lot of competition. I was coming home from a trip and craving pho. My first choice was Pho Kevin in Laurel -- they were clear about their dine-in hours, which I appreciated. I ended up calling Pho 5up to ask what time they allowed their last dine-in, and they told me 8:45 PM, so we headed over. We arrived at 8:27 PM, only to be told it was takeout only. I explained I had just called, and they acted like I hadn't -- until I showed them my call log. After going back and forth, they said we could dine in but asked if we'd be done by 8:50. I wasn't planning to stay long I knew they closed at 9 but I would've at least appreciated being allowed to eat until closing time. If they're not going to honor what they say over the phone, what's the point of calling? Just go to Pho Kevin instead they're clear, respectful, and 100% worth it. read more

This is the closest pho place to me, so I decided to give it a try. Usually my family goes to Rockville for our favorite pho places, and Pho 5UP did seem to miss the mark. This pho is pricier than other places, but the portion size doesn't make up for it at all. Additionally, there weren't many varieties that offered combinations of types of meat/beef. We ended up paying more than usual for exceptionally small bowls with one type of meat. The pho also seemed like it was pre-made a while before and reheated too much - something just didn't seem right about it. Take out review: Ordered off door dash for pickup. The noodles and toppings were packed separately from the broth which was nice so the noodles don't get bloated. Unfortunately the broth was not hot enough (probably should have cooked the broth at home before pouring it into the noodles but oh well) so it was over all lukewarm. Incredibly fast and fulfilling pho at this restaurant! We ordered the popular #5, which had a mix of beef cuts and within two minutes they brought out our bowls. I also ordered a Thai tea, which was exceptional. The pho broth was flavorful, the meat slices were perfectly thin, and the noodles were fresh. Police station? Even the maps was confused. The building stands alone away from the other complex. There's a little lot in the front that you can park in. Entering the establishment was easy. It was just after the lunch rush, so not too busy. We were seated right away. The broth is very flavorful. Portions are fair for the price you pay. And the cuts of meat. Tender! Iced coffee was tasty- but we did have to ask for more ice. Not cold enough! Summer roll was good. Service is fast and attentive when they're on point. We thought the pho was tasty and the broth delicious and not salty at all. The portion size was huge and I got two meals out of it. I enjoyed the summer rolls and bubble tea as well. This was the best decision I've made in a long time. After my family and I traveled to a nearby park, we were searching for a place to eat lunch. We stopped by pho 5 in the hopes that the food wouldn't be too bad, though our expectations were more than defied. Initially, I was nervous, since we came at a non-busy hour and were the only customers in the restaurant when we arrived. But I was quickly reassured when we were greeted with friendly service was great and got to start eating almost as soon as we ordered. The pho here was phenomenal. Obviously, their most popular items were delicious, but what surprised me most was the Tofu and Vegetables pho. The tofu was soft and slightly sweet, which is a rarity among restaurant-served tofu and a pleasant surprise. Not to mention that the vegetables in both the pho itself and the side dish were plentiful; portions here are a great size and definitely not skimpy.
