The food was bland. I ordered orange chicken and garlic shrimp. The orange chicken didn't have any orange taste to it. The dish really didn't have any flavor! The dish came with battered chicken and a few pieces of broccoli covered with a bland sauce. The garlic shrimp dish, no garlic flavor at all! It comes with shrimp, celery, mushrooms and water chestnuts. I substituted the mushrooms and water chestnuts for broccoli, since I don't eat either. The lady told me the dish would have a spiciness to it. I couldn't taste the garlic or spice. I'm not sure how I would describe the taste. It wasn't spicy, sweet, garlicky, flavored with herbs, seasoned; it was just bland! This is the most tasteless Asian restaurants I been to. My son said the orange chicken at panda express is better than this. I was pleased with a portion of the service. They allowed me to substitute, which is a plus. I looked over at the menu and it said two free egg rolls or sodas with a purchase of $20. My order was $32. The lady didn't mention the freebies, but she honored it when I mentioned it. Oh, the egg rolls had flavor, but not what I like. You basically tasted the wrapper, not the filling. The establishment was clean. It had a few barstools and tables you can use. We go here all the time! It's good food, big portions, and good prices. And they're quick. We usually get chicken and beef teriyaki skewers, mu shu, Singapore rice noodles, eggrolls, spring rolls, and we've also had their lo mein, orange chicken, and beef and broccoli. Updating because it's almost five years since I gave this place 5 stars. We've probably eaten here monthly since then, all during the pandemic. I've never had a bad meal -- everything has been great. They stopped delivering, but we order online or on the phone, and one of us goes to pick up. They are lovely people (we've got one family member who has a special love for beansprouts in everything -- and they are very understanding) so ... it hurts my heart to see only 3.5 stars! Worst customer service, ever. They berate the customers and treat you as if you're imposing on them when requesting delivery. If you don't tip enough, they harass you and call you a bitch. Truly. So, if you'd like that kind of service with your mediocre food, go for it. I don't take the time to write negative reviews, but this is my first and is most deserving of this place. I really hate to give less than a 3-star review, but what usually pushes me to do so is bad customer service and that's what we received tonight. This restaurant has been our go-to Chinese delivery spot for the past couple of months. The food is pretty good and inexpensive. Unfortunately we received terrible and unapologetic customer service tonight. We ordered chicken lo mein (like we do every time we order), wonton soup, and crispy beef. I asked if they could add broccoli to the lo mein- no problem. The woman informed me that it would take 45 minutes for delivery. An hour and a half later our order arrived and it was wrong. We got fried rice instead of lo mein. My husband called to let them know we got the wrong item and the woman insisted that I had ordered fried rice. I would never order fried rice. My husband was sitting with me when I placed the order and since lo mein was his request he would have corrected me if I had mistakenly said it wrong. The woman basically said it was our fault. My husband told her that we wouldn't be ordering from them again and she hung up on him. Whether or not it was our fault (and it wasn't) the customer service is terrible. read more

I order online from Asian Express. On their Lunch Special, it says that "Monday-Saturday (11:00am-3:00pm). Served with fried rice and egg roll." So i order the Lunch Special lo mein ... Instead of receiving lo mein with fried rice and an egg roll, I only received lo mein. When I called Asian Express to tell them that my order was incorrect, the did nothing for the inconvenience. Instead, they told me that they are sorry ... and everyone makes mistakes, and I have to understand that. Never once did the offer to correct their mistake by giving me the right menu item nor did they offer me a refund. Instead they made it very clear that I was a fault for this and there is nothing they can do about it. I expressed to the guy at the front counter that I wasn't happy with my food b/c it didnt taste good and he only offered soy sauce. I told him I didnt want to add soy sauce and asked if I could replace it with something else. He said yes so I told him what I wanted but instead he proceeded to ring me up. They told us that the chicken wings would take 25 mins to be cooked so you know the food is fresh. We got the General Tso Chicken, it was definitely fresh to say the least and the portions are small. We were diehard Hunan House fans, and when they closed, we didn't eat Chinese takeout for years. Then my parents started going here and suggested my husband and I try it. Now this is our go-to! The vegetarian dishes are very good; we always like what we order. I love lo mein and they make great lo mein. I wish the vegetable fried rice and vegetable lo mein had mushrooms. Please add mushrooms! That is always my favorite part. This is not as good as Hunan House - nothing compares! - but it is the best we've had otherwise. Worst customer service ever! I was warned by several neighbors about their horrible customer service ut had to learn it myself the hard way. The gentleman who works there and the lady who takes phone orders are rude, nasty and disrespectful. My kids like the sesame chicken, so I've been patronizing the place just for that dish, despite their rudeness. The other day, my daughter answered the door, received the food and shut the door. The delivery guy left by the time I got the tip together like 2 minutes later. The next time we called to place an order, they refused to deliver, and called me a bitch. Right at the beginning of the call, with zero provocation. And without as much as an explanation for anything. I was shocked and asked what happened He then proceeded to call my daughter stupid and literally told me not to call again, and hung up. Holy crap, so glad they messed up my order, replacing fried rice with white rice; this white rice was so fluffy and soft, yeah, you could stuff a pillow with it. Moo goo gai pan, that addictive, probably msg-packed sauce was a winning combination with the rice. And the trays they use - ingenious! In comparison to the other nearby Asian takeout (Hunan China) I think the dishes were more flavorful at Hunan China. For Chinese takeout, this place is pretty good and reasonably priced. Corn, Chicken & Egg drop soup was quite tasty and a big hit with the kids. The chicken lo-mein was heavy on the soy, but that made it tastier than the sometimes bland versions I've had at other places. Hunan shrimp was excellent, slightly spicy with a good number of petty large shrimp. Eggplant with garlic sauce, while on the oily side, was exceptional with the occasional bite of red hot chili to keep you honest. Subpar were the egg & spring rolls and steamed dumplings, would definitely pass on all of them next time. Solid choice for takeout Chinese.
