I thought their sushi was a bit on the pricey end but they were good and I especially liked the baked dynamite roll! However, we did order 2 of the Yummy Yummy rolls because the description sounded tasty but after each bite, we were left with a strange aftertaste. I'm so glad we tried this place. What got me was some items on the menu that I normally don't find in other sushi places. Yes, they have all the normal, usual stuff, too, so don't worry if you like to stick to your sushi favs. But, if you want to try new rolls, I think you'll find their menu interesting. I have only ordered carry out from Sushi Nari and it is always excellent. Everything is super fresh, beautiful prepared and reasonably priced. I have tried a variety of their speciality rolls which are great, but my favorite is the spicy tuna roll. The dinners are all good. A group and I can't here after a nice workout close by. It's a lot smaller on the inside then pictures show and I was surprised. There was maybe about a total of eight tables. I was a little skeptical with ordering sushi from such a small establishment but seeing I'll try something limited in the area we decided to stay and give it a try. The order salad, calamari, and miso soup for appetizers. Rolls that were ordered ranged from the Red Monster Roll to salmon rolls. Service was nice and we were given cinnamon tea at the end by one of the chefs. We were surprised to find it cold but somehow it definitely worked. Also, the miso soup was plain miso broth, without any tofu or seaweed which is typically in miso soup at other sushi restaurants. The fried rice was also more like what you'd find at a large chain hibachi-style restaurant, with tiny salad shrimp, lots of soy sauce and oil, and served with a side of "yum yum sauce". The Yaki Maki roll and Crab Cake Tempura rolls were our favorite! We will definitely order these again. We always order a California roll as a safety net, and I personally love the Maryland (sometimes known as Baltimore) roll. This wasn't our favorite California roll ever, but it was decent. One thing to know is that they have a lunch special. It's 14.99 and comes with 3 rolls and a miso soup. However, the rolls that come with it average about $5, so your deal is a miso soup. So, it's a free soup, but it's just okay. Sadly, and I really want to like the closest sushi place to my home, that's been my experience here. It's okay, but nothing really stands out. The ramen noodles were a bit over cooked, but they bring you a heaping bowl. The GaZa roll was supposed to be tuna and it was white fish. They also bring a dish of edamame as their "bread" basket. I'm not usually a delivery kinda gal - I like to either dine in or pick up myself, but it was the middle of a workday between meetings and couldn't make the time. Wanted to support a new biz and saw tons of love for Sushi Nari on Yelp and GrubHub, so decided to go for it! Their ordering system was easy to navigate, with descriptions of the rolls included and modifications (like extra cream cheese, avocado) available. I was hoping to snag a lunch special, i.e. 2 rolls for $xyz, but saw that they only have these for direct orders on their website for takeout only. I opted for two traditional rolls (Spicy Tuna and Philly) and a specialty house roll (Crunch Spicy Salmon) because what can I say? I'm an equal opportunity foodie. Delivery arrived on time and packaged neatly. First bite and I was impressed! The rice is sticky, soft and fluffy, so there was a lot of 'volume' in every bite. It made the traditional rolls feel enough, which is usually not the norm at sushi restaurants. The salmon inside the spicy salmon roll was really fresh as well. Lots of crunch for sure. I ended up picking up the order and then delivering it only cause I didn't wanna impact the customer. However this place doesn't deserve our service if they can't even do as much as allow us to relieve ourselves after long drives . We are out here all day delivering and it gets hard. My favorite sushi place in Columbia recently closed, so I am in search of a new favorite. This place is probably not it, unfortunately. The food was not bad, but it was nothing special either. We got the Double Dragon, Shrimp tempura, crunch spicy tuna, Big Sexy, and Salmon avocado rolls. I think my favorites were the two simplest - none of the specialty rolls really did it for me. For over $70 worth of food, I found the portions a bit skimpy - the specialty rolls were only 5 pieces, and the basic ones were 6. We are used to 6-8 pieces per roll at basically the same price, and I don't think these pieces were any bigger. I'll probably try another place next time. read more

This isn't the best place I've been to for sushi. It's not the worst either. No bad. The waiter was great with service and friendly. The salmon paradise was good but maybe the creamy crab too. When we got the cream cheese salmon, fish was so thin, I could see through to the other side. The picture on menu showed rectangle thick cuts of salmon. What we got were very thin, square cuts of salmon. Basically, we got half of each roll of what we thought we were going to get. Of the salmon paradise, fish were also very thinly sliced. Maybe the cost of salmon have increased during pandemic but I don't think quality should be sacrificed. Just increase menu prices if needed so that every dish is still good and plenty. I also think they put too much sauce on the fish. Too much sauce masks the taste and freshness of raw fish. read more

Wow, hands down the best sushi I've had in a long time! The dynamite roll was CAKED in a delicious topping of crab stick and sauces. Probably the best dynamite roll I've ever had!!! We got takeout and they were speedy and polite. They said thank you as I was leaving - I made sure to say thank you as well! I got the Dynamite roll (crab topping) and the Samurai roll, which were both delicious. For just two rolls, I was totally stuffed! I was shocked at how filling it was. The sushi itself was a little thicker than most, with lots of sticky rice, so that's probably what made the rolls more filling. But the taste and combination of sauces made it so good!! I haven't been here since before Covid and I'm not sure what changed but I was very disappointed. Quality has gone down tremendously. We waited over 15 minutes for a drink refill and were the only customers eating in the restaurant. The appetizers were not edible due to a very bad taste from the oil, (we sent back the calamari, gyozo and told them to not even bring out the tempura) The miso soup was the worst miso I've ever had. The edamame was even bad, not sure how that's even possible. Service was very poor.. they seemed to be more concerned with To-Go orders than their dine-in business. This was one of my favorite sushi spots but I really don't think I'll be back. They layered on so much sauce on the sushi and nothing seemed fresh. Yesterday was the worst experience I've ever had when it came to sushi. It was inedible and is currently in my garbage can. The toppings and rice were stale. The Crab stick substitute for Crab salad was only substituted for lump Crab. The roles didn't look appetizing. The staff forgot a lobster dynamite role for our order. Ordered sushi take out as our little Coronavirus treat/to support local economy. We ordered a spicy tuna, spicy scallop, salmon skin, Beauty & the Beast, and a Volcano roll. Overall I was satisfied by the sushi. I wouldn't say it was the best sushi I've ever had however it was far from the worst. If you're looking for a moderately priced sushi option, with some pretty great selection, this is an awesome choice. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen and it was horrible. Didn't even taste like Miso at all. The base of the Ramen was nasty and watered down. Barely touched it at all. The other thing I ordered was the Hawaiian Poke with a quail egg on top. I was looking forward to the dish because I thought it would've been the typical poke from Hawaii where I'm from but it wasn't. It was still good don't get me wrong but it was made with pears.. It had a sweet taste to the poke which was refreshing and not salty like some poke. I don't know if I'll try this place out again because the service was horrible and the food wasn't up to par... Really think this is one of the better sushi places around Columbia. I only come here for lunch because their prices seem a bit much for location. It's small and quaint and located just around the way from the Harris Teeter. Otherwise it's fantastic. If they offered more specials I might be enticed to come at other times.
