Perfect crunch the sauces were yummy and the fried rice was good too! Sushi was good. Good prices too. So good I was saying i was definitely coming back for more and was abt to order the Jessup roll...and then THE BAD AND UGLY happened:I arrived around 9:06 PM. For context, the restaurant closes at 10 P. My original server was a very kind young lady Who served with a smile. Around 930 My original server was busy, so I called to the next one that I saw. She acknowledged me with an annoyed look then started mumbling something under her breath that I could not understand. I chose to ignore it. I asked for one more sushi roll and a cup of water. (After that i was going to leave) With an attitude and very aggressively she says "OK ok Jessup roll and a cup of water. What else?" Girly pop was VERY obviously annoyed and taking it out of me...a customer. I wasn't rude nor did i have an attitude until then. Had she said that "Unfortunately the sushi bar is closed and we're not taking any more Orders." I would've understood. However, she turned around and walked to the register, still talking angrily under her breath. So I told her to cancel my order and have someone else bring the check. I do not want her to come back to my table. She STILL came back over trying to offer some stale ass store bought cheesecake. I told her I don't want it to get out of my face. I don't like rudeness. Especially if it's unwarranted. I am a very kind person. I'm usually not rude to people, especially service staff because I know what they go through. But this girl and her nasty attitude pulled me out of my character this evening. I ALWAYS leave a tip for my server, but i was too focused on the rude girl and forgot to leave one for my original server. She was very very sweet and tried to check on me and i appreciate it. There must have been a lot of takeout orders because from the time we ordered to the time we received our food, at least 40 minutes had gone by. Best sushi I've had had in long time. I happened to come here because it was near an event I had to work and wanted to eat something light. I had such an amazing experience I would drive the 30 mins to come back. Plenty of parking. Came on a Saturday at 6ish and service was fast and food came out just as fast. They did give me a complimentary soup and a small version of one of their appetizers. I don't know why I got this complimentary gift of goodness, maybe cause I was by myself sitting at sushi bar or maybe cause I ordered shrimp shims I and they didn't have any. Either way I'm grateful because I got to try the Sushi Q and it was delicious. I also ordered the Hollywood and absolutely delightful and the chef sauce was just the right amount of spicy. The restaurant is well decorated. Comfortable booths and plenty of table space for large parties. The space is open and the warm lighting keeps the dining area welcoming and personal. The service was prompt and polite. We were checked on several times through the meal and we did not have to ask for refills. Great little adds like a free sampling of an appetizer and desert were appreciated. The selection of rolls was wonderful. One of the largest I have seen and the rolls we ordered were fresh and delicious. If you don't like spicy, be sure to ask for no spice as most of the sauces added are definitely spicy. This was a very surprising find for me. Not a huge sushi person personally, but I found myself here with a couple of friends on Memorial Day. The menu does say no lunch specials on Holidays but the staff had no issue with it, which was great. The lunch specials involve 3 rolls for about $15, and includes a miso soup and a small salad, which in all, is quite worth in comparision to sushi restaurants in the area. The meal itself was surprisingly delightful. All three rolls tasted fresh and it was filling for a solid lunch. A big fan of the mango tuna (although I definately love Mangos on a general basis). There are alot of options to select from in terms of sushi rolls and non of my friends were upset about their selections either. In general we were all plesently surprised. The restaurant is nothing posh, not the greatest vibe, but the bathroom is well kept. They also have guava candies by the cashier station on your way out, which as a nice little last touch. Also for the vegetarians, there are a few selections of vegetarian rolls. The staff was also nice enough to provide another soup selection for my vegetarian friends, which was great to see, given that we have seen conflict before in a few other places. In honesty, when I decided I wanted sushi, we had another eatery in mind, but they didn't open until 4pm, so we had to pivot. Having positive experiences at varying Sushi Q locations, we decided to give this particular location a try (as it was long the way-and their menu didn't seem to change much from the other locations)- though this particular visit, I wasn't able to order my typical go-to-favorites, as I had to adjust for pregnancy. Scanning the menu, looking for rolls like those I had wanted from the other in-mind eatery-I instantly realized it was a positive thing our original place was closed, as Sushi Q had such an expansive variety of cooked/non-raw specialty rolls, beyond my expectations. It wasn't all 'shrimp or crab tempuras' but way more dynamic ingredients, like cooked fishes-lobster-fresh crab rolls-spider crab-and more! Great sushi! Came in on a weekday around lunch time and it was pretty busy, but we were able to get a table fairly quickly. They have reasonably priced lunch specials that include soup and salad. We got a sashimi special and another specials with 3 rolls. We ended up sharing the 2 specials and this is definitely the move imo-- you get so much more variety and still get to have the pricing of a lunch special. Our sushi took a little while to come out, but they served us a complimentary appetizer in the mean time (I'm assuming to appease us lol). And most importantly, their sushi is AMAZING. It is always extremely fresh with a great texture and yummy flavors. Spicy tuna is always perfect at this place with a nice balance of spice and freshness from the fish. They also give you a side of miso soup and a salad. I usually don't like miso soup, but this place is the only place that makes miso soup I eat. Their salad is usually just some iceberg lettuce, but their gingery and citrusy dressing brings it over the top. I'm familiar with the Sushi Q name, and knew they had several stores throughout the Baltimore area, but was never motivated to explore. I took advantage of their lunchtime special to give them a try. On weekdays between 11-3pm, you can pick the two- or three-roll special, which comes with a small house salad and miso soup on the side. I opted for my go-tos (philly, spicy salmon and spicy tuna), plus the Dynamite house roll. My food was fresh and the deep-fried dynamite (which was an absolute unit!) stayed put despite a commute home. The house salad and soup were decent sizes too. Full and happy. This was our first visit to this restaurant for carryout on 5/9/21. It is located in a small strip shopping center with Popeyes. The front of this place looks discreet so you can't see inside the window, but once you enter inside, it has a beautiful, modern dining room. There were some customers dining in who were socially distanced. Waiters were all masked. There is a very large menu of sushi to choose from that we never seen before at other Japanese restaurants so you may want to review the menu online before arriving. We ordered 3 rolls (California roll, Eel Avocado Roll, and Rock & Roll) plus shrimp & vegetable tempura appetizer. The total was around $26, which seemed reasonable compared to other places. It took 15 minutes to wait, and we were allowed to do so inside at a table. All the sushi was delicious and would melt in your mouth! The tempura had 4 long pieces of shrimp and various vegetables (onion ring, zucchini, broccoli, mushroom, asparagus, sweet potato), which were still crispy when we got home. I really enjoy all the Sushi Q locations. I have never been disappointed with the quality of sushi. This review is for the Jessup location, which I visited this past Monday. I will say service at all the sushi Q's could be better, but the sushi definitely makes up for the lack of attentiveness. Hoping they can improve on this so I can turn my review into 5 stars! We started off with the edamame, Gyoza, seaweed salad and the free soup they give with your meal. The seaweed salad is hands down the best I've had in the area. All the appetizers were very good and we really enjoyed them as always. We ordered quite a few rolls. My favorite is the sushi Q special and the hot hot. The sushi is very fresh and I appreciate that they don't put too much sauce on the rolls. I also enjoyed the spicy tuna roll and the rock n roll. They have quite a few cooked rolls as well if you are trying to introduce someone to sushi who isn't too sure about it. As always I will be back again soon! I'm so thrilled that there's a Sushi Q in Jessup! I cannot pass up on some good sushi so I ordered a few togo. I was very pleased with the staff team. They are very welcoming, and they maintain the cleanliness of the establishment. The quality of their sushi is superb! Definitely worth every penny I tell ya. If you really want the bang for the buck, then I recommend the hibachi. They include a generous amount of meat, rice (regular or fried), sautéed vegetables, salad, miso soup, and yumyum sauce. As much as I eat, I had to save the rest of my hibachi for later. As for the sushi rolls, the ingredients tasted fresh and ultimately hit my taste palette that's for sure. Out of the rolls, my favorite one was the fire roll. They were fireee! By the ways, the fire roll is not spicy at least for my taste palette. They do add a little bit of the sriracha sauce in case anyone is sensitive to it. For all the sushi lovers out there, it will be love at first sight at Sushi Q. read more
