Came here for lunch with a friend and had a nice meal. I had a craving for soup and the ramen was delicious. I ordered volcano ramen medium and it was spicy and soothing. My friend got sushi and enjoyed her rolls as well. Service was a bit slow for lunch but everything was delicious. read more

Stopped here while in town for a game convention. Located about 15min from downtown Baltimore, this was away from the hustle and trouble of finding city parking, and situated in a shopping center. We walked in - table for 4 - and were sat immediately. Ordered some beverages and started with crab Rangoon and gyoza. The gyoza were standard issue. Good taste in the filling but nothing out of the ordinary. For dinner, we ordered several rolls of sushi and maki, as well as entrees. I ordered a Philly roll and a Baltimore roll. The Philly roll had avocado in it which isn't really a Philly roll but it was very good. The Baltimore roll had crab, avocado, and old bay. This was really good and I liked the crispy topping to it. For my entree I ordered the tonkotsu ramen without the jazz - and the broth was very good and had deep flavor to it. Our waitress was very nice and attentive to us - several refills and the meals and apps came out very quickly. Plenty of seating here and an open area which was good- wasn't loud and allows for an enjoyable comfortable meal. read more

Just popped in for some take out because like the awesome Gma I am we had ice cream first. But my granddaughter decided she wanted to eat there. So we stayed (of course). First she wanted noodles so I ordered her some wide noodles ( she wanted skinny noodles). No problem-I had ordered some maki rolls so ate those and had a side of noodles. The rest went home. So then I ordered some Katsu Ramen. This was delicious too and my baby girl ate well. We took it home and she ate well the next day. So needless to say the ramen was a hit with her. I liked everything. The staff was nice. The restaurant looks nice. Recommend. read more

Overall: fine sushi, okay noodle dishes, multi-stall gendered restrooms, dark casual ambiance, fine service The menu has huge and has lots of things that sound good on it. The noodle dishes we tried were lackluster- nothing I would return for. We enjoyed the sushi and the prices are comparable to other places around. read more

summary: a Japanese style sit-down restaurant that holds true to its name and offers Sushi as well as commonly found entrees such as udon, fried rice, tonkatsu, and others. Solid meal, friendly service, with a few nitpicks. details: We went on a pretty quiet Monday afternoon to grab a sushi (and more) dinner. There were hardly any people for context. There's a bar (by the sushi making station), tables, and booths to sit. Plenty of seating. The ambiance is kind of modern with familiar touches of an Asian/Japanese dining experience. There's TVs everywhere, which I assume would be playing sports/news (but there weren't any games happening at that time). That's where my nitpick actually is. I don't think they monitor this very closely and so there were a few explicit songs and videos playing at the time we were there. It wasn't anything hardcore or anything, but something to be cognizant about if you're going with little ones. The food was solid. Things did take a little longer than what I expected considering how quiet the place was when we were there. However, things did taste fresh and made to order, so I'm guessing/assuming the time went to make things fresh which is definitely nice. All the food we ordered was well balanced with flavor and cooked well. The sushi menu felt a bit more on the Americanized side for me. e.g. there's lots of rolls with cream cheese and mayo type of sauces. But, what we did order was very tasty. Positive experience all around and I would recommend checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for some Japanese cuisine. read more

Okay, I came here on a whim - literally. I was looking for a solo lunch sushi moment that wasn't too far from my location at the time, and this came up as a spot that was close. I came here I want to say on like a Wednesday or something for lunch and I was not particularly impressed. As soon as I walked in, the hostess didn't say a SINGLE WORD to me, so I was already put off by that. I asked for a table for one and she continued to not speak (she had an airpod in and was likely on the phone) as I just followed her (although it wasn't clear that that's what she wanted me to do - she just started walking) to a table where she sat me. She said nothing as she walked away, and I never saw her again. Anyways, the waitress came by a few minutes later and she was great albeit a little awkward/wasn't listening. No issues though, she was friendly and accommodating. I know it's like a never-seen-before experience when people dine alone, so maybe that was the reason she was thrown off a bit. Whatever. I can't remember exactly what I ordered (I think a couple of different rolls and some crab rangoons/wontons), and I believe I remember getting a miso soup as a little appetizer situation. All of the food was fine, but I will say I have had better at other spots, but it's not like it wasn't good at all, just average (IN MY OPINION!) The place was nice though. Clean and I liked the organization/set up of it - no one was sitting on top of each other (although it was quite empty when I was there - just two other groups), but if the restaurant was busy, there would still be decent space between parties. I would go back, it just wouldn't be my first choice. read more

We were welcomed in from the moment we stepped in the door! What a treat. My family and I dined here on Thursday night and found the menu carefully made and the food thoughtfully and freshly prepared. Rolls were very reasonably priced as was the hibachi. I had an avocado salad as an appetizer and enjoyed the dressing very much. The hibachi was so generously portioned it could have fed two of us! Sushi Call is a visually appealing restaurant on the interior in an otherwise unassuming strip mall. Easy parking. We look forward to visiting again next time we're in town. read more

I'm reading the reviews and I wish I would've had their experiences. My was awful. I ordered 2 sushi rolls and an appetizer to go.I went back to pick it up and asked for duck sauce. I was told "it doesn't come with what I ordered." I said ok well can I get some? The rude lady walked away and eventually brought a small container of something orange. I thought she would just give me a packet of duck sauce but I guess they didn't have any. I got back to the hotel that I was staying at and realized I only got 2 of the 3 things that I ordered. Also, the orange stuff that she gave me was not duck sauce. The 2 rolls that I got were not good at all. I got a yellowtail scallion roll and Philly roll. I only ate 3 pieces and threw it away. I wouldn't recommend and I would not go back. read more

Sushi Call is one of my go-to spots on a Friday evening when I'm craving comfort, cozy food. This was my second time ordering takeout and it was just as good as the first. We ordered the California roll, Dynamite roll, California tempura, and the Volcano miso ramen. Everything tasted fresh with great proportions. I ordered the ramen mild spicy and asked for extra chili oil on the side - definitely used it, and it hit perfectly. Customer service was great, and the take-out packaging was very secure. Even with ramen, there was no broth spilled at all. Fresh ingredients, consistent quality, and food that travels well - always a win. I'll definitely be ordering again. read more

They have a 18% service charge with no signs telling you they do so. I paid with cash and they have a nerve to ask for tip suggesting at the lowest 18%. I paid with cash and I don't understand this mystery charge. Felt rushed to leave and didn't receive refills. If you are going to eat here just order take out. Don't accidentally get with a 25.63 charge like myself. (btw only had 2 adults 2 kids and a baby that got fries and ice cream) read more

The food was yummy. A variety of rolls that I don't see at Sushi Q (across the street). Priced similarly but I think the portions are smaller. I didn't get miso and salad with my rolls but my brother did with his sashimi... maybe only certain orders get that app. We were the only patrons and were not checked on as we ate. When someone came to clear plates I asked for more tea... It's a nice look inside with a full bar and seating. We sat in booths and could view a beautiful designed wall. Went back the next day . I had the seafood ramen and it was so good!! I love it. read more

The sushi is delicious and the people are wonderful. I'm happy to recommend them to anyone who enjoys sushi.

I haven't been here since they first opened because that experience was bleh - a lot of fluff and the quality wasn't great, especially for the price point. I was feeling like sushi, so I came for the lunch special on a Tuesday afternoon. Wow. I am impressed! The special is a pick of 2 rolls and a choice of soup or salad for $11.95. You cannot beat that price for the portion and quality of the sushi. There is more filling than rice and the fish was top notch. There is only one server but she was very friendly and efficient. Lunch rush had a few dine-in customers and more carry out orders. Plenty of seating, but the lighting is a little dim. Make sure to come by to try out their food! read more

I've been here a few times since my initial 3 star review and I dinged them significantly in the past because of service, however it has improved quite a bit. The sushi is good, everything I've had so there's not a particular roll I'd recommend if it sounds good to you it will likely be. They also have some good lunch specials that run Monday-Friday maybe next time I'll try their ramen. Ambiance is really good too. read more

So at first, I was very happy. The volcano roll is generously topped, the Philly roll was delicious, and I love any sushi place that also sells crab Rangoon. But then I started eating my crab rangoon. At first I thought it was thread, it was so black, but thread doesn't break apart like hair. I've been sewing most of my life and no thread behaves like that after heat, but hair does. I'm glad I travel for work and don't have to worry about ordering from here again. Hair nets exist for a reason. read more

Sushi call was the perfect spot for an afternoon lunch with my coworker. She had tried it via door dash so we just figured why not go in! The inside is a low light aesthetic with hanging twinkle lights and like karaoke at night vibes. The servers were very friendly and attentive. They kept us laughing and even brought us a Taro drink to try! It was refreshing and sweet. Perfect after the spicy sushi rolls i had! Try this place for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed! Ordered using DoorDash. Ordered chicken & shrimp hibachi and sushi & sashimi platter. Came with salads and dressing. The dressing was so delicious that I could have drank a quart! The hibachi meats were tender and seasoned well. The sushi & sashimi were presented on the carry out container like a work of art with a little flower and all. Very pretty and pleasing aesthetically. Very fresh fish and tender rather than chewy, which is always important. Wish I had taken pictures! Next time. read more

Sushi Call is a pleasant little addition to the Elkridge strip and tends to be the go-to spot for food in between running errands. They are always busy due to a full bar, carryout orders, and numerous tables for dining-in. Staff is friendly and they will remember you! Food is fresh, flavorful, and their portions are quite large. I tend to always order sushi at sushi establishments but their hibachi is really good--healthier than the usual hibachi. Not sure what they do exactly but it is "less heavy" and oily here which I appreciate. read more

Just had some FANTASTIC takeout for a sushi lunch from here, but once I saw the inside, I was almost regretting not staying- the place looks gorgeous, you'd never guess it from the outside! Used their online ordering, picked it up after 30 min and it was all ready to go! The lady at the front desk was very nice and professional- since it was my first time here, she gave me a card for a special roll after 10 visits. Neat! The sushi here is excellent quality, right down to the rice- perfectly seasoned, fresh fish, and LOADS of rolls to choose from! I can't wait to come back, dine in or takeout! read more

Friendly nice atmosphere!! Service is prompt and nice very accommodating... My son and I ventured here for a dinner date.. We had 3 California rolls, 1 shrimp tempura, 2 miso soups, 1 shrimp fried rice and a Long Island for Me, water with lemon for him. The Shrimp Fried Rice... was basically white rice soy sauce topped with shrimp drizzled in what I guess is eel sauce... 4 broccoli florets and 2 pieces of carrots garnished the dish.. The Shrimp Tempura was decent I'd order it again The California rolls were good according him.. Tokyo Tea was not as melony as I'm used too but was decent. Long Island Iced Tea was goodt!!! No coke and add peach snappes Will return again.. Management and staff are very attentive read more

Tried this spot on a whim because I was close and there was a wait at my normal spot across the street. When we entered I was pleasantly surprised with the decor and the full bar. The lights were low but not too low as to not be able to see, your average Japanese restaurant. We were immediately greeted and seated. They offer many $7 cocktails and also have flavored lemonades and slushies. The menu was expansive from sushi to hibachi and teriyaki. We had the shrimp tempura appetizer which came with two shrimp and several tempura vegetables including sweet potatoes which were delicious. I ordered a combo hibachi of steak and shrimp which came with vegetables, noodles and choice of fried or steamed rice. I chose fried rice and I loved it. It was peppery and seasoned. My steak was cooked to my liking and very tender. I just could've used some seasonings like salt and pepper but the yum yum sauce worked. My husband ordered the shrimp teriyaki meal which came to the table sizzling hot on a heated cast iron plate with onions. He chose steamed rice. He loved his entree. Both meals came with soup and salad. Our total bill was about $52 which was great for all the food we had. They aren't skimpy on the portions which was appreciated. My next trip I will try the ramen. They also gave us a free dessert cake. read more

Upon entering. You're greeted and everything. There was sanitizer available at the front podium. The ventilation is very good. Very good amount of fresh & cool air circulating so you could easily tell they're using air filtration here. After sitting in the bar area. The TV's were powered on and the top shelf liquors looked very organized in the bar area. The decor of the restaurant was very relaxed and modern. The employees were very professional and helpful when asking about different sushi mixtures. Also very social too. The pricing was very good for restaurant sushi. As well as a wide variety of sushi mixtures available. The menu was also highly detailed in the sushi listing of ingredients. The portion sizes are very generous and the rolls were thick which is a MAJOR PLUS. They provide chopsticks and also napkins. The napkins were very high quality. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was amazing. Tables were spotless and the floors were clean. Also the menus looked & felt very clean which means they're sanitizing the menus which is another plus. They're very attentive regarding drink refilling. Also the water tasted amazing which means it's highly filtered which is another plus. They were also attentive and very generous on reloading of extra wasabi. Also the wasabi was very potent. Definitely cleared the nasal passages upon eating the wasabi on the sushi. Lol. The parking was very easy since it's in a shopping center parking lot. There is two Volta Level 2 EV chargers in the parking lot which is a major convenience. Eating & Free Charging at the same time. The overall general crowd is mainly middle to high-class. Mainly adults. Very Mature. Barely any kids really. The overall noise level was normal for a sushi restaurant. Quiet & Very relaxed. Overall. A++++++. read more

Was back home, Baltimore, visiting and my daughter wanted some ramen. We were staying at a hotel by Arundel Mills and it was getting late so I stumbled across this place. I am so glad that I did as I was throughly impressed by the food and wait staff. This place is located inside a shopping center with plenty of parking. We were greeted immediately and seated. I opted for the spicy edamame, crab puff, sushi and my daughter ordered Ramen. Everything was absolutely delicious and the taste was flavorful. Definitely worth five stars and I will absolutely return once I'm in town again. The restaurant is perfect for date night, lunch or just a solo trip. read more

Pros - the rolls aren't heavy on rice and avocado in the rolls are generous. The eel avocado rolls was good The Philly Roll had way too much cream cheese and it was the only thing that could be tasted. Would not recommend. The spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail are like other restaurants that mix the spicy sauce into the grounded fish. However, it tasted very bland and there was no salmon or spicy taste. In general, the fishes didn't have much taste and the sushi's were bland. They were on the mushy side which may have been because of the avocado. Salad - average/good - Complimentary salad with lunch special. Salad tasted fresh but nothing special, just a basic salad mix. The dressing was delicious but the salad was drenched in dressing. Had a dressing soup at the end of the salad Nice ambiance - Nothing fancy, but not gross at all. High ceilings, darker night time club vibe with led lights. The background music has been playing slow versions of fast pop songs Waitress was nice and service was a good speed. read more

This place is so pretty inside, you wouldn't imagine it to be from the outdoor strip mall. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a friendly hostess/waitress who seated us immediately. There are hand sanitizing bottles at every table, which is a plus. Upon request, she told us about their popular rolls and gave us some suggestions. We tried some sushi and their shrimp drunken noodle. The noodles were surprisingly good, way better than expected, and the ingredients were fresh. A new favorite (minus dessert) This was our 1st experience going anywhere literally since March to eat at an indoor dining establishment so it was quite nerve wracking at 1st. When we got there there was nobody sat down so we were very happy and everyone was wearing masks. And a social distancing known I will say as we were there for a while a few other families were sat the entire restaurant was open but these servers chose to sit a family of 6 less then 6' away from us. As somebody who is terribly pregnant right now and very concerned about social distancing if I had realized it sooner I would have asked us to move. I would recommend for anybody that they mention this when being sat so they understand your concerns and take note of it. Now on to the food and the value. This is absolutely new favorite the portions were fantastic and the quality of the fish was very good along with great presentation. Before this we had been consistent sushi Q Patrons but after this I can say that I found a new favorite for a very similar price. I enjoyed the audience and the shared parking lot was easy to get in-and-out of so no issues there. I will say however I knocked off one star due to the deserts and also the lack of social distancing. We were given a small sponge cake on the house which was very sweet but honestly did not taste good at all. I also ordered mochi in a flavor green tea and I was surprised to find it watery and honestly terrible. I am not sure if it got defrost it in then re frozen or what happened but I would highly recommend to this establishment to replace this vendor that they get it from. Over all though it was a good experience and I would make the trip out and drive a few extra minutes to come here. read more

We decided to come here for lunch after running errands. We saw they had a lunch hibachi special and gave it a try. I got the hibachi shrimp and he got the hibachi steak. We both got soup and salad (not pictured), spring rolls (free with a purchase over $30), a side of fried noodles and two drinks. The food was good! It came out fast, our server was attentive and I would say it was a good portion for a lunch special. It was obviously smaller than going to a hibachi spot for dinner but for $12.95 you can't beat it. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good, inexpensive meal that will likely give you leftovers. Also, the drinks we cool too. read more

Hands down my favorite sushi place in Maryland. The people who run it are super nice and service is always efficient. It's close to where I work so I always get take out and it's ready in about 10 minutes. I've never ordered and eaten at a table there, but I'm sure it's just as good of an experience as the take out process is! Becoming a regular here because I can't stay away! I recommend the pork gyoza (best sauce ever), the sweet potato roll, and the house salad (the dressing is so good!) 100 out of 10 read more

Reasonable prices and quick service. The interior is clean as well. Nice neighborhood sushi stop

The only reason I am dinging them one star is because I ordered Gyoza and at first I was waiting for it. Then my hubby had to actually get up and ask about it, I think they forget. Aside from that this is some of the best sushi I have had in a very long time...and I came from Hawaii. Anywho! Once we got the gyoza debacle out the way we decided on what sushi to have and I was impressed with the presentation and the taste! We were checked on plenty and if I'm being honest I really like the setup Inside. I will definitely be back read more

Was driving from DC to philly, and stopped by here on the way for lunch. Was not expecting this place to be great, but it turned out to be amazing. The menu is huge, it has everything for everyone. From hibachi to sushi to udon to pad thai. The decoration was beautiful and the servers are verty attentive to refill and to get you anything else that you may need. The lunch prices are simply amazing. 3 rolls for 11.95. And hibachi filet mignon for 12.95 or normal steak for 9.95. I decided to go with the filet mignon hibachi lunch. And shrimp tempura appetizer and my coworker also ordered a calamari. The lunch portion came with a small bowl of soup and salad which are better than most hibachi restaurants I have been to. The shrimp tempura is on point, crispy and not over cooked. But it's more like a mixed tempura, with 2 shrimps and the rest are veggies. The calamari was different, not as crispy, due to different type of batter used. The steak was cooked to medium and it was perfect. The portion was more than enough. I was too full trying to finish everything. If I live in the area, I would definitely return to try their sushi selection. read more
