We came for dinner on a random weekday. Nice staff. The food was just okay for us--we've had better sushi. The salmon tasted nice & fresh. Miso soup was a bit sweet. The agedashi tofu wasn't as crispy as we normally like it; it was actually a bit soft and would fall apart when dipped in the sauce. The Maryland roll was just average for me. We also got the salmon sake & eel nigiris - we liked both. With over an hour and a half left until closing, we were only one of two tables left but we did have to get someone's attention to ask for the bill because our server was busy mopping/cleaning.

I came during lunch on a weekday and was seated right away. The interior isn't too large so I was happy to get a booth to myself. I ended up ordering seaweed salad and the sashimi deluxe which came with some soup. The plating was pretty impressive, for the price I'd would of liked more variety of fish even if that meant less of each kind. Inflation I guess? As far as the fish, I thought it was good quality with good temperature. That being said, no complaints here. I plan on coming back, however next time I'll be doing a la carte.

I was excited to come here with my wife and son as the pictures looked great. After seeing the prices on the dinner menu, I thought this must be a high-end sushi restaurant. I ordered the dragon roll ($20), Agedashi tofu ($8), and the philly roll ($8). For our mains we ordered the Pork belly ramen ($17), and chicken udon noodle soup ($16). I kid you not... I took one bite of the appetizers and sushi and asked the waiter to cancel the Ramen and Udon if they haven't already started cooking it already. Luckily they didn't start so I didn't have to be more dissapointed. I paid $37 total for those 3 sad plates of food. For premium prices I expected at least a decent japanese cuisine experience, but I could probably get better sushi from the Harris Teeter's across the street while paying much less! PLEASE - DO NOT eat here if you are looking to treat out your family like me. Waiter was unapologetic about my dining experience and did not even attempt to ask what was wrong or make it better. She seems to know that this is a lower end japanese restaurant with high prices. STEER CLEAR...

Definitely a place to stop by to enjoy some sushi. We had the shrimp tempura, California roll, spicy tuna eel, and the ramen. Atmosphere was great; staff were attentive and very professional. Def looking forward to trying out the entire menu. I drove so I couldn't order from the drink menu. There is quite a selection. My phone died before I could take pictures of the drink menu. Stop by and get your sushi on.

Overall Experience, 4/5: This is always a go to spot in the Fulton area. The sushi is always Food/Drink, 4.5/5: They have a lot of special sushi rolls, endless options and there's something for everyone. If you're not feeling sushi, their other dishes are pretty good as well! But known for their sushi, they have very unique specials that you don't see often. Pricing, 4/5: For the price of sushi it wasn't too had. Around $70 for 4 rolls plus tip. Service, 5/5: Checked on us often and gave us time to figure out what we wanted! Aesthetic/Atmosphere, 4/5: Pretty cute restaurant and not too busy.

Sashimi platter. Love the presentation, and bigger cuts of fish.

A friend wanted to meet up for dinner in Maple Lawn, and I was excited to try a sushi place I hadn't really had before. It's not much further than my usual spot, and variety is good, right? Sushi Tendo-U was ... okay, but that's about all I can say for it. Their menu is awesome - it's probably not anything more than any other restaurant's, but it has a lot of pictures. I admit it, as much as I eat sushi, I have no idea what the different fish are actually called, so having the pictograph was kind of fun. They have a pretty wide selection of mixed drinks and sake, too. Unfortunately, I tried to order 3-4 drinks, and was told each one was out. Finally wound up with a bottle of sake that was sharp, musky, and not at all good -- it was just the only one they had. They were also out of one of the soups, and an appetizer I ordered. At this point, I didn't really try ordering any of the other things I wanted, and just went with a sashimi platter. I'm willing to give them a small pass on being out of, like, half the menu -- it was Monday, perhaps they had a busy weekend, and ... you know, everything. But, it was still a little disappointing. None of the dinners come with miso soup - I had to order mine separately. Usually miso or a salad is kind of standard with the dinner. No big deal. Their miso was a little thin, with not much substance to it, but I realise that's how some people like it. The miso came out at the same time as the meal -- I felt a little awkward eating my soup while everyone else ate their sushi. But, then I tucked into the sashimi platter. The presentation on this is really nice, and the amount of fish in each cut is great. None of those little slivers, these were decent sized pieces. They were not the freshest sushi I've ever had -- some of it tasted just a little... supermarket sushi case level. Maybe a little better than that, but not much. The service was good, and very friendly.

Myself and my coworkers came here for lunch. The service was great and the sushi was delish. Everything was so fresh! I love the presentation.

I've been coming with my girl since it opened and it's by far one of my favorite dining out options. I have no idea how so many people had a poor experience as it's been fantastic now for years and I noticed for whatever reason I've never reviewed. Anyone who spends a bit gets to spin a wheel for a free item and it's the most fun bit of marketing I've seen in ages as it always compliments your next visit. Sit at the bar and tip the jar, you won't regret it.

I have been to quite a few different sushi restaurants and for some reason I am not a big fan of this one. Although the atmosphere inside the restaurant is very nice, their sushi is typically underwhelming to me. Their sushi is not bad, it is just not as good as other options.

I've been here a couple of times so far, and I haven't had a bad experience yet. I'm usually in around lunch time, so the place can be kind of busy. But, that typically has translated into fast service, with no sacrifice to friendliness either. I'm keen on ramen, so that's what I generally order here. Yes, I know it's called SUSHI Tendou, and I have had the sushi as well. It's good, for sure, but not rave-worthy perhaps. Tasty, well-made, but nothing earth-shattering. What I really enjoyed, though, was the ramen. I'm not sure why they add halved cherry tomatoes and baby bok choy to the bowl but almost every bowl of ramen I've tried has had different vegetation on top. When in Rome, I guess... I do wish they'd offer a lunch pricing for the ramen, though, as a bowl will set you back near $14 for the basic chicken. Beef and shrimp are $15. They're really delicious, and definitely filling, but it's just a bit more than you might expect to spend. Still, without many other sushi/ramen options in Maple Lawn, this hits the spot when the craving arises. I definitely preferred the shoyu broth over the miso one, but that's a personal preference thing of course. Try them both and you decide. They're both tasty so you can't go wrong. Overall, great food, fast/friendly service, and okay prices. P.S. The kani salad was quite nice, very fresh, and heavy on the spicy side. Very good for the price, and quite a substantial portion as well!

Stumbled across this place today. The sushi was incredible. Creative specialty rolls on top of the usual rolls found everywhere. The presentation was outstanding. Great service. If sushi isn't your thing, they have other food options to choose from. I'll be back.

Grabbed dinner here with some friends visiting. One of the servers there was a novice. For some reason she couldn't figure out what we ordered and screwed up my friend's order. While the other server told us she would fix our bill, it was cancelled, but they still charged us for it. My ramen had tomato in it. Wasn't a fan.

The restaurant blends modern and traditional Japanese design and occupies the former space where a coffee shop once stood. There is ample free parking outside, though Friday evenings in this part of Columbia are notoriously busy. Food -- Thoughtfully presented, visually appealing, and made with fresh ingredients. Seafood Miso Soup -- A large bowl filled with whole fresh clams, scallops, shrimp, and green onion. A very generous portion--so much so that she brought some home to enjoy later. Salmon Skin Salad -- Pieces of salmon skin ranging from crispy to slightly chewy, mixed with cucumber, fish roe, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. A delicious combination. Signature Maki - "Maryland" Roll -- Beautifully presented with blue crab, shishito peppers (mild and slightly sweet), Old Bay-torched salmon, spicy mayo, and rice pearls. Both friends quickly devoured theirs. Prices felt somewhat higher than typical mall fare, but the freshness of the ingredients and attention to detail made it worthwhile. The entire staff we encountered were engaging and genuinely seemed happy to be there for their guests. A big nod to management for making hospitality an important part of the dining experience. One minor suggestion: the attractive menus could use periodic checks, as a few pages appeared a bit worn. I would happily recommend a visit--perhaps on a less hectic day so you can enjoy the décor and food at a more relaxed pace. There is also an outdoor patio that will be especially appealing once the warmer weather returns.

My family and I came in for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Upon arrival, I was shocked to see how packed it was, but that was telling of how good their food is. There were a lot of birthdays being celebrated that evening, and it was a Wednesday. They had a private room available, but there is a food minimum and you have to take your shoes off (floor table set up). Though we were offered the option, we decided to just sit in the main area since we were coming with a few older family members and didn't want them to struggle to put shoes back on later and they prefer sitting in chairs. They have sushi, teriyaki, platters and combination dishes. We all had something different, ordering from the combination options, teriyaki and some sushi on the side. Since we all ordered a special, it came with miso soup and salad. The food was brought out in a staggered manner - three out of the five of us got our food before the others, and they almost finished half of their dish before ours even came out. I had the beef teriyaki and I was shocked to see that it was a large piece of beef, and we were given knives to cut it up. I am used to the meats being already cut up, so this was different. The food was still good though! I will say that I wish there were more broccoli, than bean sprouts accompanying the meat - the dish was still delicious though! The chunk of meat was so large that I actually had leftovers to bring home as a second meal. The sushi was impressive. Not only was the selection so large and I wanted to order every single one of the special rolls (but I didn't because my eyes tend to be bigger than my stomach), they use all fresh ingredients. The shumai was unimpressive, but because everything else was good, I didn't really mind it. I feel like my rice bowl was not full, as most restaurants pack the rice into the bowl; whereas I felt like there were air pockets in mine so there was a little less. To my surprise, they had a decent dessert menu: several ice cream options, variety of mochi and a few cake selections. Because they knew we were celebrating a birthday, they surprised us with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with different cookies to share! It came out with a sparkler, and the employees singing along to a soundtrack played on the speakers. This really made my sister feel so special, and as I said before, it seemed like most of the larger parties there were also celebrating a birthday that evening. Delicious food, friendly service, easy parking and fun atmosphere!
