We were craving sushi and found this place on our way home. I never really know what to expect when a restaurant is in a strip mall, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was dimly lit inside. The sushi was fresh, presentation nice and the staff were very attentive. The drinks were pretty good too. The restaurant itself wasn't big but it wasn't busy either, so we got seated and served quickly.

Good service, decent prices. Takoyaki: 5/5 this came out hot so be careful but I would get this again. Specialty rolls: the roll with cream cheese had a lot in it. Overall pretty good quality

The food was OK but eel roll was so small and the eel was so crispy burn and bitter. I can't taste the eel. I got surprised of free rolls. I placed order to pick up, the pick up service was quick. Nice ambiance, looks clean.

This place is always a hit. I love how decorative the dishes come out. The staff is super friendly. I love the variety of rolls and have enjoyed all that I have ordered. This is definitely a local spot that I keep visiting.

Sooo impressed with their sushi! Very fresh tasting sushi, good rice to fish ratio (low rice, more fish), and huge variety of rolls. Very good presentation and also free roll or edamame beans included if you order over a certain amount of dollars. Will def be back and recommend this restaurant for fantastic sushi!

We ordered the California Roll ($6.50), which was reasonably priced & made well. The OMG Roll ($9.50), which had smoked salmon, tempura eel, and avocado with a wasabi sauce drizzled on top, tasted really good. The Maki combo ($18.95) comes with salmon roll, tuna roll, and yellowtail roll. Everything came out well presented on the plate. A cup hot green tea was $2.95. They even gave us complimentary cake afterwards. Our server, Elaine, had a bit of an attitude and did not really check up on us - so service was a disappointment. They have a parking lot and plenty of seating inside. The place was overall very clean and was decorated really nicely. They also have a small bar for alcohol options as well.

Service was friendly. Food was fresh - important especially when it concerns raw food. Had the gooey duck special. Nice but you don't get much. Presentation made it appear much more but it was over ice and lemons. Kinda pricey for what you get. The salmon sashimi was fresh and we had a double order because each one only had 3 pieces. The red snapper is fried but tasted very good when dipped into the sauce. Thought the order comes with either soup or salad. Didn't get any but the fish was served on a bed of assorted greens (which may be considered salad???). They gave us free dessert. Seating nice area and not cramp.

It's nice cute place in a strip mall. We ordered rolls and hibachi. Sushi was good and there are lot of options. However I was little disappointed with the hibachi. The portion was good but the food was bland. The rice, veggies and the chicken all tasted the same. That's my only criticism. Other than that it's a good place to have a lunch or dinner. There is plenty of parking too. Service was good.

Fantastic sushi, decent price and beautiful presentation! Definitely will be back, they had a lot of food options

FOOD- 5/5 the fire crab roll has to be my favorite of all time it was so good!! We were started with a random appetizer sushi. Everything was just so good and tasted so fresh. Me and my friend came two days in a row because after our first visit, we knew we had to go right back to try a new roll. The plating was so cute too! You can see and taste the efforts. SERVICE- 5/5 made sure we were taken care of perfectly!! AMBIANCE- small but comforting place. Plenty of tables and booths. Highly recommend giving this place a try! Will definitely be back.

Ninja Sushi is one of the best sushi restaurants in the area and I've ordered from here over a dozen times. The ambiance is nice and fairly casual. Their service time is great whether you're eating in or getting carryout (order online and come pick it up). For appetizers, I really enjoy their Sexy Jalapeno and Carpaccio. The Sushi Pizza is a more fusion appetizer and worth a try. They have a good variety of sushi rolls to choose from. My favorite rolls are the special rolls. I'd recommend the Maryland Roll, Spicy Girl Roll, Special Cucumber Roll, Dynamite Roll, and Rainbow Roll.

I didn't find any krab or even the taste of it, but good none the less. I shared another appetizer, inuri ( not sure if spelling), tofu fried in a wrapper and covered in a delicious sweet sauce. I'm not a tofu person, but this dish could change that! DH ordered hot and sour soup and drunken noodles. Not a fan of hot and sour soup but I liked this one! So did DH. He loved his drunken noodles with pork. It had a hint of curry and was a little spicy. He ordered a sweet tea and said it was really, really sweet. Diner #2 ordered miso soup and teriyaki chicken. She loved the soup and I got to taste her chicken. It came kind of fajita style on a sizzling platter with red and green peppers, broccoli and a little bit of onion with a generous portion of chicken breast sliced on top with a good sauce and sesame seeds. It was accompanied by white rice. Large enough portion that she has lunch for tomorrow! Diner #3 ordered an eel roll and a few pieces of fat salmon sashimi. She said it was all good. I ordered pad Thai with shrimp. Several large shrimp were delicious and the noodles were very good. I ordered it as mild as possible and there was not a hint of 'hot' spice although it was physically really hot, which I love. I think next time I'd ask for a little heat in it. As I'm writing this I realize I could have asked for some chili oil or something to spice it but I enjoyed it very much. The server was terrific and a few people made sure our drinks were refilled. I definitely am looking forward to my next visit here. There are lots of things I want to try!

The layout is interesting -- there's an upstairs when you walk in, but the sushi bar and a good bit of seating are downstairs. The menu is pretty straightforward with a mix of hand rolls, appetizers, specialty rolls, nigiri/sashimi, and traditional rolls. They also have a few solid combo deals, though I usually prefer trying a variety of items instead. Service was quick, which is always appreciated at a sushi spot. We ordered a few specialty rolls, two traditional rolls, and a couple orders of sashimi, all served together on one platter. The rolls were a great size -- filling without being overly large. The sashimi was fresh, and the traditional rolls really balanced out the meal nicely. The flounder and tuna sashimi were both excellent, and the California roll made with real crab was simple, fresh, and really satisfying. The total came out somewhere in the $70 range, so after tip and splitting it between two people, it was about $40 each to try multiple rolls and sashimi. Definitely fair pricing for the quality and amount of food. This spot had been on my list for a while, so I'm glad I finally made it over. I'd recommend checking out the menu beforehand so you can go in with a game plan and try the items that stand out most to you.

I ordered the 5 set hand roll with Hottie scallop, Kanpachi, Torch me slowly, Spicy salmon and Mango Tango. I loved the flavors of each one but the wrapping was tricky. Some of the rolls wouldn't come off because the wrapping had a lot of moisture so I ended up just eating it deconstructed. I prefer how Kazu Nori gives you each roll one at a time to prevent this. Overall great hand rolls but it's super messy so I'd give it a 3.8/5.

The restaurant has a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the staff was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable throughout the entire meal. We ordered the Black Magic Roll, the Mini Masunosuke Don Bento, and the Mini Unadon Bento, and every dish was exceptional. The Black Magic Roll was the standout of the meal, with incredibly fresh fish, great texture, and a unique combination of flavors that made every bite memorable. The Mini Masunosuke Don Bento featured king salmon topped with ikura over rice, along with karaage, salad, miso soup, and dessert. Everything was fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented, making it feel like much more than a typical bento box. The Mini Unadon Bento was just as impressive. The grilled unagi was tender, flavorful, and perfectly glazed, served over rice with crispy karaage, salad, miso soup, and dessert. It was comforting, satisfying, and executed exceptionally well. What really stood out was the attention to detail. Every plate looked beautiful, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the quality was consistent across every dish we ordered. You can tell the chefs put a lot of care into both presentation and execution. If you're looking for high-quality Japanese cuisine in the Gaithersburg area, Kema by Kenaki is absolutely worth the visit. Between the creative sushi, outstanding seafood, and excellent service, it's an easy 5/5. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

The ribeye in the fried rice dish was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly, while the rice itself was seasoned so well that every bite was packed with flavor. My favorite roll was definitely the Green Monster Roll - fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. I also appreciate that the maki rolls here are never skimpy, which makes them very filling and well worth the price. The service was excellent from beginning to end - quick, attentive and consistent throughout our visit. Our waters and hot green tea were always refilled without having to ask, and every request, from extra pickled ginger to additional plates, was handled promptly and politely. Overall, another solid dining experience with no issues at all. I would absolutely recommend this spot for either lunch or dinner if you're craving sushi.
