Have dined in prob 2-3 times and most of the times it's my pick up place after a long day at work and did not feel like cooking. Dropped off vehicle for service and this place was very close - plus I've been wanting Chinese food and it came up in a Yelp search. :) I treated DD and overall it was very good. We were seated immediately and given water and menus. Orders also taken quickly and the food came out piping hot in a very short time. The Yibin spicy dry noodles were just at the verge of spice level for me, and I did enjoy them but DD said she thought that was all they had going for them - the spice. No flavor profile to speak of. The best thing we shared were Peppercorn spicy soup dumplings, which were truly excellent. Very flavorful and tender. The lamb stew pot was a disappointment; there were far more bits of bone than lamb, and only a few lonely vegetables. We both just had water, although I thought about a smoothie, deciding in the end that it would be too filling. At just under $32, this was a very reasonable cost for lunch for two. It's nowhere near home, though, so when I'm next at the dealership to service my vehicle, I'll try a new spot. read more

Finally tried this place after passing it many many times on a sunny afternoon where I did an oil change nearby. Had some time to kill so I walked in this place for a late afternoon lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The staff greeted me upon arrival and immediately served me some water. I ordered the spicy peppercorn pork soup dumplings and the cucumber salad . Both were phenomenal! The crunchiness and savoriness of the salad with bomb asf dressing & the savory and (slightly ) spicy pork dumplings were flavorful. I only wish they out more broth in those dumplings ! Stopped by my third Yu Noodles location and loved the inside space this place occupies. The parking lot is oddly laid out but the inside makes up for the outside and it's not quite worn off prior restaurant name. We came for an early dinner on a Saturday and walked right in and were seated. The space is modern and clean. My husband and I ordered: S7 spicy oil wonton- 10 pieces, some solid spice with peanuts on top. One of my favorite starters. S1 scallion pancakes- so flaky and crisp! A little oily but sooo delicious. A3 Buffalo wing & hot sauce- 6 pieces, I think this is fried in chili oil, leaves a nice burn in my mouth and lips. The breading is so tasty. N4 Sichuan beef noodles soup- my favorite dish at Yu Noodles! The beef so so tender and flavorful, the broth has delicate spice notes in addition to its rich beefy flavor. I don't find the spice overpowering and love that it comes with a few pieces of bok choy. Pizza soup dumplings- I've never noticed this on their menu, and my husband was daring enough to want to try it. It really did taste like pizza! We happened to found this place while waiting for our Tesla and decided to see if it's a good noodle place. The people were very nice and welcoming. It's clean and opened layout. They seat you and serve you quickly. Not much of a wait time. We tried their soup dumplings and few other noodles and they were just amazing! Soup dumplings are very juicy. We went for lunch, and it wasn't too busy. Service was super fast. I tried the veggie dumplings and the tofu. They were good. There aren't many vegetarian options, so my choices were limited. The ambiance isn't anything special, but it's nice enough. It's not making it into my rotation, but I'd still say it's worth a stop in. read more

Having been to the other Rockville location by town center, I was already familiar with the menu and hoped that it would match (or exceed) my expectations based on experiences at the other location. Happy to report that I enjoyed my dinner here! This is a much larger and more modern looking location of the two. I ordered my usual chicken leg noodle soup with soup dumplings on the side. On a cool, autumn night, it was the perfect combination. As expected, the food was yummy and tasted authentic. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be, but it was the middle of the week and we had gotten dinner a little later in the evening. The food came out quickly and service was great. Because of the larger location, there is plenty of parking all around the restaurant (unlike the other location). It's kind of tucked away along Gude but definitely worth stopping in. read more

Fantastic discovery. Went to this restaurant to try it out as I received one of those paper coupons at home, and my kids love noodle places. What a pleasant surprise! I almost don't want to write this review because Yu Noodles is one of those hidden gems I selfishly want to keep to myself. They have two locations, one near the courthouse in Rockville and the other off Gude Drive. This review is for the Gude Drive location. The staff is always friendly, the space is clean and well decorated, and the food? Absolutely incredible. I've worked my way through the entire menu, and I can honestly say I haven't had a single dish I didn't like. Special shoutout to their delicious freshly made soy milk (hot or cold), it's out of the world and must try if you've never had it. The sticky rice siomai with pork and the spicy oil pork wonton. The sticky rice siomai with pork was a 6/10. Flavorful but the pork was nonexistent. Was it in the broth? Was it supposed to be on the side? Something went wrong here. Wouldn't get again. The spicy oil with pork wonton were fire. 10/10 and would get everytime. I'm interested to see how good it is for takeout but sit-down was outstanding. The oil was spicy with a good flavor. Nice amount of wontons. Ordered some rice on the side to drizzle the oil over. The restaurant was very spacious and there was a lot of room between each table. They had both booths and normal tables. I live the chinese decor they had all around the restaurant and the open kitchen was very cool to see. The food was pretty good I just didn't think the spicy 小笼包 were spicy at all but the flavor for everything was amazing. Another thing that I didn't like was the chicken wings. The flavor was amazing, probably some of the best chicken wings ive ever had, but the inside of half of them were cold, but it was cooked. This makes me believe that they were frozen and just deep fried from frozen. I could be wrong but it was weird biting into a super hot wing and the inside being cold. The service on the other hand was amazing. My sister held up her chopsticks to show me that they were different sizes ans the waiter saw and replaced them right away, we didn't even ask. Another waiter came up to us while we were eating and asked if everything was to our liking and telling us that the rest of our food will be out soon. This used to be O'Briens Pit BBQ/Branded 72. It's a huge space- the former bar location is used for storage. This would make an excellent Karaoke room if they wanted to add more business. The main dining room is huge! It's almost 10x larger than their Dawson Ave location. My favorite dish is still the Yibin Spicy Noodle. I did like their scallion noodle. The noodles tasted fresh and were chewy. I tried their pork soup dumpling and peppercorn soup dumplings. Honestly, I could not taste any difference between the two. I still think the XLB at Lanzhou Hand Pull Noodles in Gaithersburg is the one to beat these days. Glad they opened a second location with ample amounts of parking. Since the weathers been getting warm, I ordered the cold sesame paste noodles with shrimp. I also am a fan of the cucumber water that they give to every table. They use very large wide bowls so at first I thought I would definitely need more food after. The size is deceiving! I was so full after my meal! The noodles are chewy, dense, and overall just the perfect texture. The nutty savory sesame sauce topped with fresh cut veggies and combined with these noodles makes a lethal combo. I also really enjoy the fun in mixing all the noodles and items together! The food is great! My friends and I ordered the all the soup dumplings, the panfried pork dumplings, the buffalo wing with hot sauce, and a few soup noodle dishes. Everything came out hot, fresh, and tasty! The chicken wings were crispy, hot, and really well seasoned. Don't forget to coat the wings in the chili oil at the bottom of the bowl! My other favorite dish was the flounder with pickled cabbage noodle soup. It was so hearty and delicious. I do think the soup could have been more sour and there could've been more cabbage and fish. As for ambiance, the inside of the restaurant is very interesting. It's very open and has a cafeteria or mall seating area feel. The service is good! Wait staff are friendly and efficient. I've eaten here 4 times since they opened. All of the different XLB are good. The fried pork buns are amazing. Buttery soft dough with perfectly seasoned meat. The food is always excellent. Service is also excellent. The wait staff works as a team and food comes out fast and plates are taken off the table strategically. They have ice cold cucumber water which is a major plus. A major miss for a lot of Chinese restaurants in the area is using tap waters taste terrible. Yu Noodles gets this right. Large dining area in an open and well appointed place. We started with the pork soup dumplings which rivals that of Bob's Shanghai which has been the long time favorite and standard bearer. Our entrees consisted of the seafood noodle soup and pork chop with rice and poached egg. Not a strong flavor in the broth as this is a non-spicy dish. Seafood consisted of shrimp and a white fish. Such a nice surprise to see something open where Crossroads used to be. It's more of an industrial area so not a ton of foot traffic but I hope this place does well because I like when local businesses thrive but also because it's so close to our house. My husband and I came here for a quick lunch today. They did a nice job decorating. The business logo was etched into the wood tables, on the ceramic and tableware, which was a nice touch. The food was pretty good. We had the chive/pork dumplings (pan fried), these were great and they didn't skimp on the filling! We shared the spicy dry noodles with minced pork, it was very good and a huge portion. The manager, Andy, happened to take our order and since it was our first time, he made suggestions. He even gave us a complimentary shredded potato dish, which was very nice. It looked like pickled cabbage and it was cold, but it was still good. The place has plenty of tables inside and the parking is plentiful. I gave it 4 stars because I think they could have more beef/chicken (breast) options, even if it's to compliment noodle dishes. read more

Clean, fast service, and great food at great prices. Ordered steam and fried dumplings and they were some of the best in memory. The xiaolongbao was also fantastic - best I had in years. And yes, I am kinda snobbish when it comes to both as I order them from every place I can get it. The noodle and covered rice were good, also. What's icing on the experience is that the place is very down to earth - the prices were very, very reasonable for such great food. The service was also prompt, efficient, and unpretentious. I was excited to try this location since it's newer than the one in Rockville town center. I ordered the cold fungus salad, beef golden soup, Xiao long baos, and beef noodle soup. I've had all of these at the Yu noodle cafe location in Rockville town center except for the Xiao long baos. I was a bit disappointed with both of the noodle broths. Compared to the older location, both broths tasted watered down and less flavorful. The Xiao long baos had a thick skin but the filling itself was delicious. The cold fungus salad tasted delicious as always. The staff here were extremely attentive and friendly. I love that the parking here is so easy.
