This place may be good for lunch (for one person), but we won't order dinner again. Never been to any Chinese restaurant that sold wingettes as wings, and I've been eating American Chinese food for 40 years. It is basically understood that wings on a Chinese menu are whole wings, whether in a carryout or a dine-in restaurant. Over a buck per wingette? Those are BWW prices and they dress up the wings for that. No fortune cookies included, but they did include mumbo sauce. And the pupu platter was small enough to fit in a bag you get from the Olive Garden for your breadsticks. The guy at the counter could see the confusion on my face and the disappointment in asking if this order was right and complete. I kept looking in the bag to see where the rest of the wings were. No sides, no drinks, just meats. I could've walked out and just left it at that point, but I decided to pay for it. That's $22 I'll never get back, and it'll be the last time. At least the food has a nice appearance when unbagged. It tastes alright so far. Do yourself a favor and order from Yum's or Mid-Atlantic Seafood Restaurant for Chinese. They've done pretty well over the years, portion-wise, taste-wise, and price-wise. We just decided to try something new; don't go chasing waterfalls. read more

If you look closely in the picture the fried rice was poorly done. You can still see white rice mixed in. It was probably the worst version of fried rice that I've had. My 12 year old makes better fried rice. The chicken was very bland. Considering that this is a basic dish. It was very disappointing. Surprisingly the chicken Lo-mein was good. The inside was dark and there needs to be upgrades. The staff was nice enough. I had to ask for a fork and napkins for my take out order. This place does not have seating so, I thought utensils were a basic bagged item. I try to support local businesses but I will not be back here. read more

Food: So I have purchased wonton soup from this location several times. I must admit it's always boiling hot and good. I'm not even sure what these containers are made of that keeps the soup so hot. The look: Now I don't include this often in my reviews but I have to say that the place could use an upgrade or 10. It's looks really run down inside and the lighting is fairly depressing. It's not that large of a space but for foodies sake you guys can update the seating. It looks like something I would see out of the poorest location of a city. The wonton soup is really good though. But just because your food is good is not reason for the restaurant to look dingy and unkept. read more

Food was tasty as always. No Dine-In all take out. We requested snow peas with steamed tofu in white sauce and was delicious. White sauce will be low sodium not as flavorful as the brown sauce. For health reasons we use our own low sodium soy sauce when we eat them at home. read more

I was really happy with my order from Panda West! Fast, affordable, and solid takeout Chinese. I came on a Saturday mid afternoon with a friend of mine, we ordered a Kung Pao Tofu, Hunan Tofu, and veggie chow mein, all of which were ready in about 10 minutes. They ask that you call to order rather than go inside (You can't actually go inside, you can only enter the front cubicle and they come to you at that point). We didn't know, but we looked at the menu outside, called to order, and waited in the car for a bit. No big deal. The food was surprisingly good, the tofu was cooked well and the amount of sauce was spot on. As for the chow mein, it was decent. I think it was a bit dry, but still tasted good. Not the biggest fan of baby corn, so having lots of that in the chow mein was a bit of a downside, but that's just personal preference. As I mentioned earlier, you can't actually go inside. I think that's a good call, for safety of staff and customers. One person can be inside the cubicle at a time, and they'll come to unlock the door, take your payment, and have you sign the receipt (they provide hand sanitizer, so don't feel too weird about shared pens). Then they'll pass the food through and you're on your way! It's an easy and safe procedure that I really appreciate. TL;DR Pretty good food, call to order ahead of time, and enjoy! read more

The portions were extremely small. One of the meals were beef and string beans, and there were way more string beans than beef. Absolutely love this place. My go to Chinese carry out. Plus they deliver! Fried rice is awesome. I usually get beef and broccoli or hunan chicken. They have awesome lunch specials that come with fried rice and an egg roll for a great price. Much nicer than a normal "carry out". Sort of in between a sit down restaurant and carry out. Employees are super friendly and helpful. Tip: call to order instead of ordering online. You don't have to pay the extra fees. read more

If you are in the area and want Chinese food this is the place to be! They have a huge menu and would probably make you anything you asked for. It's always fresh and hot. They have an excellent "Chinese Ice Tea" which is made available to go and enough for two people. The fried chicken wings are part of the American side of their offered fare and are quite good. They are liberal with the meat and all the portions, even the lunch, are enough for two people and reasonably priced. They always seem to be open and willing to deliver. They could use some skills with the phone etiquette but I give them a pass for not having been raised here (which somehow makes the food better). After a few of my favorite Chinese restaurants closed, I was pleased to find Panda West and excited to give it a try. The food is GREAT and full of flavor. What's even nicer is that they will customize your meal for you if you need it to be. I am picky about what veggies I like in my meal (mostly because my stomach doesn't tolerate all veggies) and when I asked them to use only specific veggies, they had no issues doing so. They steam my tofu and put the sauce on the side for me making it as healthy as possible as I am a conscientious-eater. When I call them they are incredibly nice and the food is always ready in time and correct. So glad I found them. We used to go to Asian One on Rt. 1 but they went down hill. Happy with Panda West!! This is definitely not the best Chinese place in the area. I thought it was laughable that it says Chinese, Seafood restaurant on Yelp. The Seafood is almost non existent in the dishes. I ordered the Shrimp and Broccoli, Shrimp Chow Mein, and Shrimp Lo Mein from here along with spring rolls and veggie rolls. So let me just start off by saying none of these items were near spectacular taste wise. The Shrimp Chow Mein however was the worst hands down. I was just so confused as to why it resembled a bowl of soup and the shrimp was so shriveled up. In fact the Shrimp was also shriveled up in the Lo Mein to the point that I was wondering if I forgot to add shrimp. The Shrimp and Broccoli had an unusual taste that I didn't care for. The Shrimp in the dish though was normal sized at least. I can't believe it's suppose to be the best Chinese in Laurel, MD. That tells me that I will no longer be eating Chinese in this area at all. I will say though that this place had good customer service and the my delivered to me even though I was slightly outside the delivery area. In addition they arrived when they said they would which was impressive. My suggestion is that they work on the quality of their food and do not advertise their seafood at all because it's nothing close to decent. read more

First time ordering from this place and my last. Not a fan. Food was some of the worst Chinese food I have tasted. The only thing they got right was the white rice. Ordered the Shrimp Lovers dish. Ain't no shrimp lovin' happening in this dish. The few pieces of shrimp that was in the dish was over cooked. The sauces were sweet and not spicy and savory as I expected them to be. And had a weird after taste. Can't even finish eating. I was hoping this place would be good since I just recently move close. This place being the closets Chinese Carryout. This was my favorite Chinese place when I lived in Laurel 20 years ago. They had the best moo shoo pork - I have yet to find its equal. Image my joy to find the restaurant still here in 2016, with the excellent moo shoo recipe intact. I happy. Please note that this place is not a Panda Express. It's way better.
